Who said theorymon was a bad thing? No, I'm not talking about using it for arguments on whether Froslass is BL or UU, whether Garchomp is Uber, or if Gliscor really does suck enough to be forsaken completely. When you make a team, you have to start somewhere. You can't test every single Pokemon not on the banlist for the tier you plan on building your team around, unless you're trying to create the perfect team. Sometimes you test a team and it just doesn't work. Maybe that'll be the case with this team. Maybe it won't. It doesn't matter either way. All I can tell is that I will use it to its full potential. This team is pretty straightfoward from the get-go, but it eventually boils into a UU stall team composed almost entirely of former members of the BL tier. Would you care to introduce your team?

    Ambipom @ Life Orb
    Jolly Nature
    4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Fake Out
    U-turn
    Brick Break
    Return
My lead. It flinches the opponent. It flees. Brick Break + Return is only resisted by Ghost types. (With Technician + STAB + Life Orb + Priority, Fake Out really embarrasses the opponent.)

    Hariyama @ Leftovers
    Impish Nature
    76 HP / 180 Atk / 252 Def
    Knock Off
    Force Palm
    Ice Punch
    Whirlwind
Let's abuse a great ability, an unusually high HP paired with a great type, and a good support movepool, shall we? It sure is slow, and it has poor defenses, but a single Aerial Ace isn't going to be bringing this thing down any time soon. Knock Off ruins Lefties extremists and generally any item whore. Whirlwind hurts things that just eat up Ice + Fighting. (And for phazing).

    Moltres @ Leftovers
    Bold Nature
    248 HP / 148 Def / 112 Spe
    Flamethrower
    Roost
    Substitute
    Toxic
This set was designed for OU but it should still work in UU. It's good that Heatran is out of the equation. (Although admittedly I use my UU teams in OU anyway). Anyway this set is pretty obvious. Sub + Roost is really a long, repetitive process that keeps Moltres from fainting for a while. Toxic cripples non-Poison/Steel-types, and if they don't resist Flamethrower they're in for a nasty surprise.

    Gardevoir @ Leftovers
    Timid Nature
    4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Shadow Ball
    Calm Mind
    Psychic
    Focus Blast
A Trace Sweeper? Well, Porygon2 sucks so it'll have to be Gardevoir. Psychic + Ghost + Fighting really is good coverage and is very rarely resisted in UU, if at all. Thunderbolt sounded like an appetizing option but STAB is always good and I wanted Calm Mind.

    Kabutops@Leftovers
    Impish Nature
    252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SpD
    Stone Edge
    Waterfall
    Rapid Spin
    Stealth Rock
D_A said I had a bird weak. (It's not uncommon). Stone Edge takes care of that. SR can hurt them if they decide to come back in, and Rapid Spin support for Moltres' weakness thereof.

    Umbreon @ Leftovers
    Sassy Nature
    252 HP / 200 Atk / 56 SpD
    Curse
    Payback
    Wish
    Baton Pass
Switch Umbreon in on something that can't defeat it. Curse once or even more times. Then Baton Pass to Hariyama or maybe even Cloyster. If I get trapped I can just Payback + Wish until someone dies. This will be even more useful if the opposition is down to one Pokemon. Umbreon's bulkiness really keeps it from even risking OHKOs with most attacks, even many fighting moves.

Well you have a bird weakness, Swellow is a real problem (even cloyster doesnt wall it well with sr up) and you need Rapid Spin with Moltres always or it wastes a team slot.

    Kabutops@Leftovers
    252 HP / 196 Def / 60 S.Def
    Impish Nature
    Trait : Battle Armor
    - Stone Edge
    - Waterfall
    - Rapid Spin
    - Stealth Rock

    >> Cloyster imo.

Ive used this set on some of my most successful teams and can attest to how good it is (Id say its probably one of the best spinners in uu). To show how good it can take hits, this ALWAYS survives a Close Combat from Choice Band Zangoose. ^.^

Thanks D_A. I think it's odd that members of old BL and new UU are so underwhelming compared to Swellow and friends.

Watch out for Scyther, after an SD it can easily 6-0 your team. You may want to Scarf Moltres to revenge-kill it.

Please don't rate my teams badly. You just suggested that I scarf a Pokemon that has Substitute on it... What on Earth is Scyther going to set up on?

Hariyama? Scyther could try to attack, but what is 55.80% - 65.63% from an unboosted Aerial Ace going to do? Or, it could try to set up, and take an Ice Punch to the face for 82.21% - 96.80% Yeah, please tell me how I'll get 6-0'd by a Life Orb "Sweeper" with less than 20% HP. With Stealth Rock, it's an OHKO with Ice Punch every time.

Moltres lols at you. A boosted Aerial Ace (the only move of Scyther's on that set that Moltres doesn't resist) does 50.91% - 59.79%. A non boosted one just allows Moltres to lhao everywhere and get sticky stuff on the floor. [25.85% - 30.55%] What about a twice-boosted Aerial Ace? 75.98% - 89.30%, and Moltres continues to laugh. Moltres cannot be OHKO'd by Scyther unless he has 3, I repeat, 3 Swords Dances. Moltres' Flamethrower v. Scyther? 107.47% - 126.33%. What this means is that bar any hax crap, Moltres can switch in while Scyther is Swords Dancing, survive any of his attacks (Aerial Ace would be the strongest against Moltres) and OHKO with Flamethrower.

Yeah, so it looks like, we don't have a whole lot of setup fodder on this team. Gardevoir just switches out if need be (although she could have picked up an Intimidate or something cool like that earlier), Umbreon Baton Passes (A Cursed Moltres or Hariyama? Scyther won't stand a chance), Kabutops OHKOs with Stone Edge (don't feel like running any more calcs but you're out of your mind if you think that's debatable), Moltres OHKOs, Hariyama cripples Scyther, Ambipom puts up a damn good fight... I'm sorry, did you say I needed to worry about SD Scyther?

IIrc Ambipom outspeeds it and is guaranteed 2hits on it thanks to fake out and with sr up i doubt its a problem.

In addition i was just doing some calcs and apparantly if you max out Kabutop's Def it can survive a SD LO Brick Break from Scyther so you could do that since the s.def were kinda filler anyways so yeah.

EDIT : Oh wait yeah Ambipom wants jolly. >.<

Sounds good D_A, that way I have two outlets to extinguish Scyther.

"Great Ability" doesn't tell me if Hariyama is Thick Fat or Guts, one allows him to tank more effectively, the other allows him to be a tank/status sink.

    Also, while it's a gimmick:

Belly Drum Linoone weak. Can set up on Umbreon then sweep your team. Umbreon itself is nothing but setup fodder, passing curses is all well and good, but you do so at the expense of allowing someone else to do the same. Payback isn't powerful enough to seriously damage most setup sweepers.

This team also (Unless Hariyama is Guts) fears status. Paralysis cripples 4/6 of the team, and Umbreon is weak to Encore, so that means Clefable can wreak havoc on you.

For Umbreon, you could swap out for a Scrappy Miltank with Heal Bell/Milk Drink/Body Slam (or Return if you pick Twave over toxic)/Status(Twave or toxic) who can be an effective wall, spread around status, and act as a cleric.
