I just want to start a discussion about what YOU think will happen in the future of PC, or some things you'd like to see on PC (as in features).

Nica created a social group to theorize about the future of PokéCommunity, you know. It can be located here. I miss Orange Meganium. Someone should really make a thread about inactive members so we can mourn their passing regarding activity.

I honestly think it'll get bigger and bigger, with more features being enabled for the forumites and more forumites joining thanks to new games coming out. Other than that, I really can't say. You can never foresee what's going to happen unless it's blatantly obvious, after all.

i think ................................ i am going to be the next mod .......... because I hlp ppl and ...... im rlly popular

Maybe PC will explode and everything gets deleted. Forever.

Well now I'm just freakin' depressed. Haha j/k.

I think PC is definitely going to continue being the most popular Pokemon forum in these here parts. I think our global reach is astounding and we've got lots of active community members. It's great for us 16+ year olds who lose real life Poke friends but find people their own age all around the world who know this is far from just a kids universe.

The future of PC? I think PC's are going to be made more and more redundant in the home because of things like laptops, Iphones and other things (for better or worse) etc etc....

OHHHH RIGHT! haha joking of course. Pokecommunity! Well, it's a forum of a franchise that is still going strong, far far from being axed. So, as long as the place can be hosted and stuff it will remain indefinately i geuss. It won't end when Pokemon does, we'll still be hear to reminiss, fanfic, fanart, ROM Hack. Pokemon won't be forgoten!

Once Pokemon draws its last franchised breath, PC will become a slowly decaying modding community (or as seems to be a more popular albeit rather erroneous term amongst Pokefans: ROM hacking).

I'd give it however long Pokemon takes to die plus 10–30 years. The PC site itself may stay in existence for considerably longer however.

Meh. PC will probably stay like it is for as long as Pokémon gets milked by Nintendo.
After it all dies out, only the cool people will stay. :3

If that thread existed, my fingers would fall off from everything I'd write.

Even after Nintendo decides to stop milking the Pokemon cow, PC could still survive as a "retro" community. I mean, I know there are people here besides me who haven't even played DP, and are fans because of the GB/GBC era. We might notice fewer younger members who only get into Pokemon because it's a fad, though.

It'd be pretty hard to believe that Pokemon could just up and die. Look at how long Mario and Link have survived! Why in the world would Nintendo cease to milk these franchises? Sure, Mario/Link games are much more basic concept material than Pokemon when it comes to theme/RPG aspects, but I believe that even if they don't pop out a mess of new Pokemon in general, they're still going to be making games, toys, episodes, and then some for another decade at the least. That'd be interesting-buying my possible 1-2 year old a Mudkip doll ^_^.

PokeCommunity will have lots of new members, and lots of NEW PC Supporters. I can see the colour change in names going to a turquoise colour. New mods and other Staff obviously, and...a lot more threads and posts I guess.

I predict there will be an influx of new members, resulting in a great influx of new threads and new posts. I can see the Pokécommunity getting much larger, requiring more staff and possibly more sub-forums to keep everything organized. There will probably be more Tiers for Community Supporters as the extra cash flow into the community would be a definite must. Either that or more ads placed on the index.

I definitely predict that the Pokécommuity's progress will continue to increase far into the upcoming years. The formula for the community is pretty great and I just don't see a "crack in the wall" of PC's setup. It is also my hope that will we continue to see a prosperous forum with activity shooting through the roof.
(I just hope it won't grow too drastically... I don't think we want to go through the Database Error phase again. xD)

I am not sure about the future of PC.
However, I can say one thing:

The threads in Pokemon General, Japanese Entertainment etc have been pretty much the same since 2004.

Seriously, someone needs to come up with new thread ideas rather than the same ones from last week.

The staff will buy a new server, the server will explode and PC will die forever.

    I don't know, I'm not a psychic. >_>

Beachboy will eat all the blue colored themes

Pokecommunity will slowly die as Pokemon hits its final game and anime episode. People will slowly stop coming to the forum as we get older, and Rukario will eventually shut the servers down with a tear.

    Almost poetic, heh.

And if he does that, dedicated staff and/or members will beg to take over and move PC back to a smaller server. :P With less members comes a much cheaper upkeep and thus it'll probably stick around a lot longer. Tons of people are into PC itself as a forum for more than just the Pokémon.

I don't see PC dying with the franchise, not like that's set to happen for a LONG time anyway. Pokémon is still going strong. It's not the craze it was when it once started, but they're still bringing it over from Japan pretty faithfully. So long as there's some interest, it'll still be around. (I also agree with the "retro community" someone mentioned. :P There's gotta be some place for afficionados of old TV and game series can go to discuss. PC could turn into that.

You're right in that sense, Pokecommunity is more of an General Anime and Gaming Forum more than it is a Pokemon Forum. :p

Well, to some people anyway. :P Most of the people who come here for social reasons are more into the other areas of PC since they don't need the Pokémon forums. I mean, most people joined for Pokémon and found people here based on that common interest, but then expanded to find people with other common interests as well, which happened outside of the basic Pokémon-related forums. But a lot of people still use the Pokémon forums as a way to discuss the fandom but aren't particularly interested in anything else. Not to mention the bazillion people battling and trading in the DP forum. XD

    the future.....

PC will slowly have less post eveywhere....

I think LucasLucario should become a moderator.
