The Game Awards 2021 thoughts

The show took place on Dec. 9th, but I was giving it a few days to see if a thread would pop up for the game awards, but obviously one wasn't made.

If you watched the show or followed the announcements, which ones excited you the most and disappointed you the most?

What were your thoughts on the lack of Nintendo announcements?

I caught the last half hour to a hour of the show, but turned off after the Matrix Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo presentation.

Though I did see quite a bit of the trailers that were already uploaded. Hellblade 2 looks fantastic. Will definitely want to see more of Wonder Woman before I make any decisions there. Already pumped up for Suicide Squad. Also Forspoken looks good even though they could have done a better job with the lip sync. Definitely enjoyed the short Horizon Forbidden West Trailer.

I was majorly disappointed by the reveals in the show. It was overhyped. But why should I expect anything less?

This is just me personally though. About the only thing they showed that I actually cared about was the new Sonic movie trailer (they hypocrites lol) and Sonic Frontiers.

That was literally it.

None of the games I care about are going to come out ever.

It felt like long trailer showcase with like 2 minutes of game awards from time to time, when they remember they were supposed to be in there. I would prefer it the other way.

Have a Nice Death looks nice. Star Wars: Eclipse also sounds interesting. And I'm glad Alan Wake 2 was finally revealed.

Oh and I 100% agree with It Takes Two winning GOTY.

Boring as usual, but at least one game didn't sweep most of the awards unlike TLOU2 last year. The only thing that interested me was the Horizon Forbidden West trailer - that giant snake machine looked so imposing and badass. Don't understand why it has to be 3 hours when everything can be condensed into around an hour and a half imo.
