One of the problems though was that the general atmosphere didn't change all that much from some of the previous games like BW2 and X/Y so it would be a bit more difficult to actually get invested were you to pay attention to the plot of the game now considering this was a rather kid centered setting with the bulk of the players being a tad older than 15 now, assuming that last bit at least.
They had the right idea with having older characters to play as in BW1 but they went backwards on that idea soon after.
If I'm not making much sense right now, it's because I just got back from a 8 mile walk and I'm catching my breath.
Long story short, the main characters were way too damn young. Like, we're talking 7 year olds here. Why I care about this particular matter in the slightest, I have no clue. But hey, it's good to talk about something at least even if it can be considered miniscule.
