c. I hate the idea of having a Pokemon League castle. That just didn't make any sense.
I never really understood that, it always reminded me of Beauty and the Beast. How about putting the Pokemon League on a mountain? Like a crystal mountain or crystal cave? I think it would look pretty cool.

A thought just came in my head. How about having 2 professors? They can be like rival professors, one male and one female. They argue over something interesting about pokemon, and that something is a part of the plot. Your friendly rival couldve gotten their starter from one professor, and you the play could get your starter from the other. Then later on, (once you beat the E4 and completed the afterstory) you have a tag battle (maybe a challenge around Red's level)

I think that would pretty cool. Lol finally have a female professor in the game for once.

I think there will be roaming Pkmn, and if they continue the trend in gen four, there will be more and more (even Pkmn from ast generations D:). I do't really like Roamers, but I actually like them better than some legendary battles. It's like, you get several chanses, ya'know.

Looking at the pics... The new 3D look makes the sprites so very, VERY 2D... They almost don't fit. I hope they change that, or it'll be sad.
Hopefully this generation won't introduce ~10 new ones like Generation IV pretty much introduced. There's really no need to have so many legendary Pokémon in the series. They're legendary Pokémon for a reason, after all.

Hopefully Im not the only one who thinks this, but half of the "legendaries" that were introduced in gen IV arent really considered legendary. Heatran, Shaymin, Manaphy, Phione, Darkrai, Cresselia, and Mewtwo from gen I since it was man-made. Most of these dont really have a legend behind it. Maybe just a small story (like the lunar wing and the nightmare) but not as big as a role of a true legendary. I just call them rare pokemon. They just happen to have stats of a legendary lol.

I really wish we don't have another Pokémon league. Like I said earlier, I want these games to be different than what every other Pokémon generation has been, but I doubt it will be much different. But the idea of having it like a competition, where you face other trainers and things like that - opposed to "the elite four" - is something that interests me the most.

I don't want to carry out a mission for a professor in this generation. If there is one, I'd much rather them be a female professor than a male one simply because it's different.

I understand where you're coming from in that aspect, but I think they're considered as official legendaries none the less. Speaking of legendaries, I would really like for a legendary Pokémon to be rather weak or one that you can capture early on through an event in-game such as it being in danger or something. I dunno. I just would like legendaries to be cut to a minimum as well as the way we capture them to be different.

The graphics seem to have been inhanced extensively, now there are shadow effects for all objects hit by light like the houses and the trees, and now it seems the battle screen also has some 3D effects of its own and offcourse the different layout of the towns and the pokecenter, just amazing .... cant wait for this blockbuster to come out XD

This made me think about something. If I recall correctly, none of the past games have had shadows change as the day went by. I think it would be cool if they implemented that into this game, giving it a more realistic feel.

Also, you know how some routes in the past have always had rain whenever you're in them? I think instead of having specific routes be rainy (which doesn't make sense since it couldn't possible rain ALL the time) there should be a random weather system.

Hopefully they will call it something different. I like how they called it the Silver Conference in the anime. But the idea of batteling other trainers for the leauge seems pretty cool. You do that and then you fight the Champion. But I still feel like the E4 is a tradition. I mean they dont have to be fought before you face the champion. GF can just stick the E4 in the after story or something.

...Like they had in DPPt? It was there, just maybe not as much. Some routes rained sometimes. it was a start, atleast.

rainbows after rainy routes........
sorry I just had to put it out there. I hope they add more weather effects in the games. And hopefully this time they can put a sandstorm where it's supposed to be, unlike what they did in gen IV. Sticking a sandstorm in where theres snow.....

I think this is what the guy will look like, just add a hat to it:

So I'll just do my Fan Art for the girl :)

Agreed.

A more random weather system is a must, and I also want a tournament style Pokemon League. Battle against some random trainers to make your way to the top of the league table, and then battle the Champion. Keep the Elite Four, but have them as a separate part of the story.

I agree. Although I hope they do something different, I know that most of what they continue to do is because it's in a traditional game and the traditional gaming experience in the main series of Pokémon has proven to incline a lot of customers to the franchise, along with continue keeping the customers who have remained loyal to the franchise, despite not agreeing with all the changes or introduced features that were included in games after Generation I. The Elite Four is no exception to that, of course. So making a dramatic change like how they're competed against doesn't seem likely.

As Cjdamon pointed out, however, there's a chance that they have both styles of the traditional gaming experience Elite Four, and a Pokémon League kind of event, much like a combined experience of the battle tower and contests.

You DO know that maybe the Mart and Pokemon Center may not be one. That could be the pokemon leauge building. Every gen had a pokemon centr and mart in it.
but it makes complete sense to combine them for all

I'm so excited about these games! I still didn't buy HG/SS (because I live in Belgium and there were some problem with the games here xD), and today I saw them in our supermarket, but knowing these games will come, I'm reconsidering buying SS...

I'd go for White (if the mascot Pokémon is cool :D)

I wonder if they'll include a (new kind of) Pokéwalker? Or maybe something Tamagotchi-like! :o (yes I'm a girl and yes I have a thing for tamagotchi's xD)
Just dreaming out loud... :)

Man,I saw the new screens on Serebii. I think they're taking the concept of 3D Pokemon Graphics really high. This will add difficulty to getting tilesets, using tilesets and even making maps. I'd love to see what more they implemented into these new games. I have a question about the DS rumour though

Are the new games only DSi exclusive? Or is it that they only have features that are DSi exclusive?

I took that into consideration as well. I'm hoping that's not the case, however.

No, there's no such thing as a DSi exclusive DS retail game and there never will be, I doubt exclusive features as well.

Anyways, I hope for the return of the Vs Seeker, it was better than the PokeGear's phone (as you could only get certain trainers phone numbers) and better than the Pokenav's Trainers Eyes (Waiting to Train), whilst the Vs Seeker, you could use it practically anywhere (Minus caves for some reason)

I want Pokemon Black...sounds like it has something to do with Dark pokemon, as oposed to White, which can be Normal pokemon, or Psychic pokemon.

I also think/hope that these games are the last in the series (There might be Ruby and Sapphire remakes though), because Black and White are what I like to think as Neutral colors. White is every color, and black is no color reflection, so I think this might hint as the last generation. I'd hate to have a 6th generation. But I said that about gen 4, so who knows. XD
