umm i said what eevee is a fox. thats beside the point everyone is saying some stuff that isnt natural. an eevee with wings would be like saying lets make geodude surf. it doesnt work. yes eevee evolves into many things but flying is one that would work it goes against nature. there is still ghost, steel, poison, rock, ground, bug, and fighting those would be perfect things to choose from.

Everything in Pokemon goes against nature. Rhydon can learn Surf.
Fish turn into Octopus', Beings that can bend the fabric of reality, little useless fish that turn into hulking powerful dragons, A pokemon that possess household objects, birds that can fly despite not having wings, foxes that can turn into other beings even humans, the list goes on.
An Eeveelution with wings is entirely possible with all this going on.

no im sorry everything in pokemon is relavint fish turning octipus deals with marine life. and the only bird in the game without wings is dodou and CANT fly. discussion done whatever happens, happens. people voiced their opinion.

their is also Doduo's evolution and that does fly, i'm not sure if Doduo can though, well eevee is a mammal and can turn to other mammal life like a fox Bat, wow that would be awesome, it would be the bat pokemon most people would love because sadly some hate zubat, goldbat and Crobat. But this is my opinion though.

Yeah why do people hate so much on some ideas and pokemon that already exist. Oh thanks about that Doduo thing i misspelled it,lol.

Considering Eevee's based on a fox-cat, the most likely possibility of a flying Eevee we'll see that isn't ridiculous is a fox bat Eevee, or, an Eevee covered in clouds with maybe small wings on the ears and joints of the legs.

this is why things get taken to far because people get dumb ideas and think its cool. not even a bat eevee would be cool and having clouds in the sprite is to much needs to be basic. New Subject, please. i think they are going to reveal the starters sunday.

Flying Eevee- and something else

Hi! I've been browsing this thread for a while now. When you guys started posting about possible Eevos, I felt willing to post a sprite I created. I started several months back and tweaked it just a bit today. I'll post the link once I have the amazing URL privileges you 15+ posters have. Meh.

Aside from that, I had an idea about something that could bring a new level to battling. You know how there are two different types of being poisoned, regular and badly, right? What if there were different levels of other status inflictions? Paralysis could be on different areas of the body, with specific moves unusable to the Pokémon. For example, if a Pokémon is paralyzed from waist up, it couldn't use punching moves, or head-butts. There's even more, like three degrees of burning or different periods of sleep. (i.e. napping, resting, deep sleep, coma? :paranoid:) That sure would be pretty neat. Any thoughts?

Here it is, a flying type Eevee-lution (Just be warned, I'm not that good at spriting):

(Yes, I haven't posted enough for the whole super-special URL privileges deal.)

That's a very good idea i like it, i wonder why they (pokemon company) never thought about it before.

Dumb ideas? Says who? You? Cause facts sure don't!! Sure Eevee is primarily based on a dog, and we all know that dogs can't fly. But of course they have no need too. (More on that later) A simple argument is to say, what if, hypothetically, Penguins/Emus were the first "birds" discovered. It would be safe to assume that no bird could fly and that'd be a safe assumption...until proven false of course, and we all know that isn't true.

Second of all, every pokedex entry of Eevee's clearly states that it has an irregular genetic make-up that causes it to evolve when exposed to radiation (evolutionary stones) or an environment that has cause for adaptation. I'll use Crystal as an example. "Its ability to evolve into many forms allows it to adapt smoothly and perfectly to any environment. " So basically if Eevee ever had the need to grow wings, it would be a matter of adapting to it's surroundings (cliffsides possibly) or evolving to be able to outrun predators/catch prey. Add that to the fact that Eevee's english name most likely stems from the word EVolution, than it makes sense for it to be able to evolve no matter what the need. Eevee certainly wouldn't be the first creature to evidently "grow" wings.

Now if we get into the design of Eevee and it's evolutions, we see that it evolves into pokemon whose bodies basically become that of water, ice and grass/leaves. That and Espeon manages to develop supernatural psychic powers and you have many more unbelievable or unnatural things than that of just growing wings. Couple that with the fact that Eevee most likely draws some of it's design inspiration from the Japanese Tanuki which in legends is known to shape shift than really it makes perfect sense for there to be a flying eeveelution.

Finally, this makes sense from a pokemon perspective AND for Nintendo. Shelgon->Salamence or Trapinch->Virbrava are good examples. I know, Shelgon is basically a Dragon's version of a cacoon but it says in Bagon's pokedex entries that it often dreams of flying, than in Salamence's it says that it has finally fulfilled it's dream of flying. Who says that certain Eevee, the pokemon of evolution, don't dream of flying? And to finish it off, from a marketing standpoint this makes alot of sense. For generations people have been crying for a pure flying type and Eevee's evolutionary chains suggest it'd be the perfect candidate to finally give us a pure flying type. So really it makes sense for the creators to make one as well.

So there we go, a flying typed eeveelution is totally and completely pratical as well as comprehendible. It makes perfect sense!! (I also hope that teaches you Andy, to never call anyone's ideas dumb. :) )

Anyways to respond to the starters thing. Sadly, I only expect them to release one pokemon but I would love if they did release the starters. I'm skeptical but I sure hope you're right!!

most people here are expecting a bat sort of eevee, but if the creators are looking for a 'pure' sort of flying type, it would hav bird wings. or angel wings or something. bats are asociated with the night and devils, and to me they're better suited with a flying/poison or dark type. if they rly want to make a 'pure' flying type, it wouldnt be a bat. although this is an opinion, i think game freak will think likewise.
as for pokemon sunday, i think they will show the starters. i mean, there isnt much point in showing any other pokemon. in the past they would show some pokemon early because they are in the latest movie, so unless there are other pokemon who are going to be in the zoroark movie, i think it will be the starters. but silhouettes. they're not going to show pokemon straight off the bat.

I agree with all that.

As for the new Pokemon, I somehow doubt it'll be starters, at least not all three at once. Maybe one once a month? ;D

They said they're revealing a new Pokemon this Sunday, so I think they will show the full thing, after all, they slapped a huge question mark over the top of the card, what would be the point of em slapping it on top of a silhouette? that's like peeling a banana and finding another banana peel underneath....ok, wierd comparison.

Well, this was the post I waited for (while browsing the forums after you had already posted it... >_>)! *thumbs up, like JP*
I also agree an Eeveelution would be the perfect reason for a pure flyer. Even tho there has only been "special types" (the ones considered special in gen 1-3) as eeveelutions so far, and flying is physical... But I do want Flying :D
So, I'd say either bat or feather wings, both are fine with me. A bat would be cool tho, I kinda think we need a new one of those.. But as vibratingcat said, yeah, it would make little sense with a bat that is only flying. Seeing it from a Pokémon wiew that is (I don't think I've heard of a poisonous bat irl, so to speak......). So yeah.
Good comparisation! xP

Yeah, that's true. I WOULD LIKE to see the starters now (I'd like to see every single PokéDex entry to all the new ones >:D).. But I find it hard to believe. Ah well.

Any news other than that? *check Serebii*
