5th Gen The Generation Five Speculation Thread

Ah, I thought about one only starter. It would have three forms (a tendency nowadays), each form being Grass, Fire or Water. And three possible evolutions, one for each form. I don't know why but I'd like to see a Water/Bug as the final Water starter (a super cannon spider, don't ask me why).

That would be very interesting and definitely break the tradition. Though, I'm not too sure if I'd rather that or select from 3 different starters. What they could do is keep 3 different starters but all three have 2 formes? Though that might be TOO much lol.

I would think that, with the introduction of a new Pokemon from a new generation, Pokemon and Nintendo would want to make a positive impact in us. Lucario was a great example with generation four getting a very positive appeal from most people. I think that Nintendo are going to try doing that again by introducing a brand new Pokemon that will appeal to us and promote generation five positively.

a starter with a dragon typing in its final stage would be awsome, although many pokemon pokemon are capable of being dragons without having the dragon typing like charizard and gyarados, just like almost all water types are capable of being ice types as well, so i hope they would have the type there instead of an "invisible" typing like they did to charizard, damn that would have made a great dragon/fire pokemon (with levitate :P) XD

The New Starters will probably be something new, such as a Fire Lizard, anyone? Too many mammals. Needs to be bulky.

Mammal Grass. I'm sure of it. Average stats, but Attack and Special Attack will be higher.

Mammal/Amphibian(salamander?) Water starter, super fast and strong.

There aren't too many duel Electric types. It would be interesting to see an Electric-Fighting type or something along those lines. Dragons also seem limited to being paired with either Flying or Ground (with a few exceptions). Perhaps they can make Ice a companion along the the aforementioned Electric type?

To be honest i hated Gen IV.....Most of th pokemon where either filler or just plain sucky....There was only like.......20 good ones.

For Gen V They should get some fans to design some pokemon.
As for the starters.....

A fire type Gecko -> A Fire Lizard -> A fire Spittingdragon.
a water type fish -> a water type dolphin -> A water type shark
A grass type canine(puppy) ->A grass type canine(adolesent) -> A grass type Wolf.

....Or even make it like tyrouge where its one pokemon that evolves via ATK,DEF,Balance - and then again by a shiny stone or such

What I think is that they should finally make your protagonist customizable .

If they said "overal new stuff , mostly GAMEPLAY " we should also see the light of a 3D customizable angle camera . Y'know , like DPPt but to be able to switch the camera around (like it does in HGSS for the Magnet Train when you get in it !!) .

changing pokemon types is nearly impossible to happen, and magnemite and magneton had their types changed to electric/steel since a new type was introduced, and not just adding an existing type, as well dark type was introduced and imo some pokemon needed to have the dark typing added like gengar and vileplume, but nintendo didnt add the dark typing to any 1st gen pokemon. As well changing types of moves is not likely to happen either. so that theory is of the list.
I agree that dragon types are too limited and are cursed with this X4 ice type weakness (most of them) due to grouping with the flying and ground typings, and i really would like to see a dragon pokemon with a new combination like a grass-dragon or an ice-dragon, and not making pokemon that are fit to be dragons but are not dragon types like gyarados and charizard, like if i saw kingdra and charizard without knowing their types, i would definitely think that kingdra is just an ordinary water type but would definitely say charizard is a dragon type, so i hope such things would not be done to new pokemon ...

Customising of the protagonist has been a hugely requested area in a Pokemon game. Most people are angry because the Pokemon trainers don't resemble the players and they want to make it more personal. I think that, with the release of generation five looming, the designers and programers of the new games have to start thinking about personalization. It doesn't have to be advanced as of yet but simple changes such as height, weight, skin colour and clothes would be very useful and I'm sure will release a positive audience from fans.

I think I like the 3 starters as they are. It's such a classic moment that every young pokemon trainer gets to experience (well not every but you know what I mean. :P)

I had an idea, and it'd be cool to get some feedback. Where halfway through the game you meet another professor. Preferably before entering another part of a region and he gives you a choice between 3 more starters. This time with a different type comination, such as Flying->Fighting->Rock or Steel->Ice->Ground. The original starters would still be Grass Fire Water. Never change that but adding a Second group of starters (similiar to what they did in HGSS) I think would be cool!

They could take that farther, secret bases have been around since Gen III, if isntead of a base it was like a house. Where all your achievements are on display. Have someone in the game actually come looking for you at your house instead of you going to them. Actually I think what I want the most is some ingame recognition! Everyone know's who Cynthia is, after you beat her your name should become just as well known!!

I'm sure this has been thought of before. However, don't get your hopes up, most game developers, especially for a huge company like Pokemon, already have their criteria and game play aspects set up. It's really up to them to decide if they want to include what we want and most of the time, we never even get through to them.

- Area's outside of Japan (The list of specific places is longer than I can remember :P)

If I wasn't at school then I'd take the time to go through old pages.

Though as fun as this is to make (and it makes it more organised) The chances of them ever seeing this, whether we send it or not, is pretty much 0...=/

I know that the discussion on this sillhoette is long over, but does nobody think this could be a mightyena evolution?? I've heard werewolf thing but no one has gone as far as saying this could be an evolution of Mightyena.

Actually, a lot of people have quoted that it could be a Mightyena evolution. They've even gone as far as to post a very realistic picture of what it could look like.
