The God Project.

(OOC: Right away! I just wanted you guys to conclude the conversation. Sorry that this part is long. I know what I said, but I really was hoping to add more Pokemon battles, and less spooky scenery. After you guys fight, you'll go looking for the key piece.)

PART 7: FROM PIXELS TO PERIL

The conversation in the dimly lit room turned grim. It seemed so strange that the death happened so quickly and quietly. As if somebody simply turned off a switch. It was simply unbelievable.

As Matt was listening, he tapped away on the keyboard of the archaic looking computer. Code and Data was spilled over the screen in a green and jittery uninterpretable language. It's green glow along with a blue tinted lamp, were the only things lighting up the room. Another monitor on the far side of the room seemed to have had a plastic map covering it. The tiny cartographic lines had long ago faded away. However, a single blue dot was blinking on the screen. It was an unnatural blue, like the fire from propane. Ever so slowly it moved up a pixel. On the top right of the screen though, there was a blinking green light.

"I uh, see you've found the radar," said Matthew "I'm trying to get that green dot without um, being killed by the blue dot."

"What's the green dot?" asked Eyone

"Well it takes alot more explaining to understand that. You see: um, there is a sort of force field around the building which has to do with magnets. By using the force field we are able to produce a thin layer of atmosphere which uh, does not compose of the Electromagnetic field. All Pokemon, Animals, and People need that field to survive um, give or take a few. One of those few was Jirachi, who-"

"Wait you've seen Jirachi!? I thought he was just a Myth!" Perry said.

"Yeah, well there are a lot of things people think they know. 1000 years ago we thought we knew the earth was flat... Anyways, Jirachi could uh, only survive inside the field for 7 days. Therefore we made it to where his chamber was entirely outside of the Electromagnetic field."

"The reason IT and all the other creatures and people couldn't escape is um, because at some point between my first warp in time, something broke the system. It had the key piece of the field taken off the machine, as well as some of the code getting scrambled. So um, as you can see, I've taken care of the latter. The small bit of Machinery is the only thing left to get, but there is yet another problem. IT, similar to Palkia, can warp space. He's switched the corridors more times than I can count. This place is a true labyrinth."

Matt gave an irritated sigh.

"We can escape if we get that piece, which I suggest we do."

He looked over at his wrist.

"But not now. It's nighttime. I'm sorry for the limited space, but uh, it will have to do. I suggest you get your supplies ready for tomorrow though."

...

5 hours later

...

"Oh ****, wake up! Wake up!"

You awake to feel Matthew shaking each of you.

"Come on grab your stuff, there's no time to explain!"

He races outside the hatch before you can realize what's happened. You somehow manage to get up and follow him. When you step outside into the hallway you feel the earth shaking violently before a dozen Aggron burst out of the ground. They screech into the musty air and glare at you with their cold eyes. It's time to fight.

"Come on grab your stuff! There's no time to explain!" Matthew suddenly said to Perry and the others. Perry didn't get much rest, but it didn't matter. If there's any trouble in these caves, his adrenaline will get pumped easily.
He took his backpack and Pokéballs and hurried alongside the others outside the hatch behind Matthew.
But they didn't get far.
Perry started feeling a rumbling below his feet. ("I hope it's not a cave in!") Perry worried.
Up ahead, Perry's question was answered. It wasn't a cave in, it was worse! A large group of Aggron dug straight up out of the ground!
Perry never knew much about steel-type Pokémon, so he had no idea what to do.
There was no time to think; Perry grabbed one of his Pokéballs and threw it to the ground.
Right out of it came Haunter, who grinned at Perry.
"Uhh..." Perry mumbled, pointing behind Haunter. It took a quick glance back and saw the metallic monsters. But they were so big and were so many. Perry didn't know what moves to command.
"M-Matthew?" Perry said to the scientist. "You don't by chance know what's best against them...right?"

{OOC: I know my part sounds a little....cheesy, but I couldn't think of anything else.}

Eyone realized by Matthew's urgent tone that they had to go quickly so he followed Matthew out along with everyone else. As they were getting ready to go wherever Matthew planned on taking them some Aggron burst out of the ground and were apparently threatening to attack them all. In the short time they had been in the God Project Eyone had realized how fun pokemon battling was, he already knew a lot about it, but now he enjoyed it, so when the Aggron appeared instead of being scared he got a look of wild thoughts on his face, he called out Ghost and Canis at the same time, and then picked his target-no, his victim. When Eyone heard Perry's question he couldn't help but answer it even though it was proposed to Matthew. "Well you see Perry, Aggron's are steel types, and there are a couple things steel types are weak against, one of them is fighting type moves, like Reversal!" Ghost understood the command and charged to one of the Aggrons, waited for it to swing and grabbed it's arm, took the power of it's strike and reversed it around like the snake style of martial arts, hitting the Aggron with twice the power of it's own attack and doing even more damage by being super effective. "And another one is fire types, like Fire Fang!" This time Canis charged and, while the Aggron was still doubled over in pain, jumped on it's back and bit the Aggron on the throat before filling it's own mouth with fire, the Aggron screamed in pain before slumping over, Eyone's pokemon then jumped away from the hunched over un-moving form and he looked at all the other Aggron who now undoubtedly felt threatened. "Bring it on you overgrown tin-cans spray-painted silver!"

("My! Eyone really has some talent!") Perry thought as he saw Eyone's Sneasel attack with great skill. His Growlithe followed and started biting onto the Aggron's neck.
"Bring it on you overgrown tin-cans spray-painted silver!" Eyone shouted.
("Also a battling spirit!") Perry once again thought. One Aggron was weakened, only a bunch more to go, and Perry doubted that Growlithe and Sneasel could take on all of them alone. Plus there were a few more from behind.
("Haunter doesn't have any fire or fighting type moves. But I need to try something!")
So Perry quickly pulled out Haunter's Pokéball and threw it directly to the ground. In front of him appeared Haunter, who looked really happy to be out again.
Perry pointed in the direction behind Haunter towards the Aggron. Haunter slowly turned around and saw all the Aggron, who looked awful feisty.
"Haunter, try using your Shadow Punch!"
Hearing his call, Haunter faced directly at the metal monster and started winding up his fist (it was a routine they often did).
"Now!" Perry shouted.
Instantly, Haunter threw his ghostly fist towards the Aggron's middle. It was a direct hit, but unfortunately, the Steel-type Pokémon got right back up.
"Keep going, Haunter, repeat your punches until it's down!" Perry shouted, giving Haunter vigor.
Perry turned around and saw Eyone's Sneasel and Growlithe continue fighting back the Aggron army.

The Aggron keels over in pain, stumbling to gain balance before finally falling. But as soon as it accepts defeat another Aggron comes up. "There are too many!" Angela shouts. Canis the Growlithe bites another one, sending it to the floor immediately. But yet another is ready for battle, this time seething with rage. It swings it's heavy arm, knocking Perry to the ground. Upon the impact, Shuppet's Pokeball flies out and lands on the ground with a strong enough impact to set it free. Perry is still pinned to the wall while Shuppet quickly takes in his surroundings. "HELP!!" Perry tries to inch away from the gnawing jaws of the Aggron. The sock like Pokemon shows rage and seems to turn into a murky liquid. It quickly pops onto the Aggron with force from behind. As the metal dragon tries to get the creature off, it loosens it's grip on Perry and finally falls with a deafening blow. 3 down, 9 to go...

(OOC: Sorry if I'm God-Modding a bit too much here, just though I could kill off a few more for you guys.)

Michael shook the trio awake, urgency in his voice. There were strange noises emanating from the hallway. Angela rose up feeling bruised, as though she had slept on rocks, and hungry enough to eat a horse. Blinking sleep out of her eyes and silently cursing, she followed Perry and Eyone into the hallway, leaving the door to the room open. Misa, as always, was right behind her.

The source of the panic revealed itself almost immediately as the earth quaked and a herd of Aggron burst out of the hallway floor. Their roars shook the walls. Angela didn't have time to count heads but she thought there were at least ten, and they were on both sides. Whereever she looked, there was a wall of metal. How were they supposed to fight these beasts? Angela looked around for Matthew and kept close to him, juding him to be the one best equipped to deal with the oddities this place kept throwing at them.

Perry and Eyone didn't seem daunted by the towering steel monsters at all. They called out their Pokemon and immediately went on the attack. Remarkably, they were making progress. Angela thought she should follow their example. She called out Tan and Jin. They appeared at her feet, looking a little disoriented. Angela decided to treat this like a gym leader battle, which helped her get her bearings and ignore the iminent danger to her life. "Jin," she instructed her Flaafy, "You zap the first one with a thunder wave. Then charge up and launch thundershocks at anything that comes near. Tan," she turned to her Marshtomp, "you follow and hit it with a mud shot. Aim for the face. Keep hitting him until he goes down." Her Pokemon nodded. "Misa," Angela whispered to the Espeon at her side, "You're with me." She knew that psychic attacks weren't effective against steel - but that wasn't the real reason she kept Misa back. Angela just didn't want to see her dearest and nearest injured. The Espeon blinked silently, her expession inscrutable as ever, but one might have thought she was smiling.

Jin and Tan were used to working as a team and had a good grasp of strategy. Jin always went first with a thunderwave. He took a step towards the nearest Aggron. The monolith's head turned and regarded the small Flaafy, which seemed to tremble under its gaze, but stood firm. The Aggron moved fast, slashing down with a claw, but Jin was quicker - he dodged the hit with a sideways roll, and, putting his paws firmly on the ground, launched a wave of lighting through the hallway floor towards the beast.

The Aggron was checked by the impact as sparks flew from its metal skin. Its toothy jaws froze for a moment in a contorted grin. Then it moved again, like a rewound clockwork dinosaur, swinging its tail towards the Flaafy. The thunder wave had had the desired effect - the Pokemon's movements were no longer so smooth. Still, Jin hadn't been expecting it. The edge of the tail hit him in the side and flung him against a wall like a sack of cloth. He remained there, crouched like a rabbit, gathering his strength and charging electricity for a nice, direct thundershock.

Meanwhile, Tan charged from behind. He didn't bother to parley with the Aggron, but shot a concentrated beam of mud from his mouth as soon as he was in range. It hit the Aggron's chin. Watching on, Angela discovered that ground was a superbly effective type against Aggron, as the monster roared in pain and anger and tried to stomp on its assailant. Paralyzed, the foot came down in agonizing jerks that threatened to throw the Aggron off balance. Tan had ample time to scramble out of the way and aim again. This time he got the Aggron in the eye. The monster was crippled and partially blinded. It seemed like the next hit would finish it off.

Angela had been watching breathlessly as her Pokemon fought. It now seemed like the next hit would be the last. Watching the Aggron struggle to orient itself, Jin picked himself up from the side of the hallway. He seemed to be alright despite the hit he'd taken. Raising his tail, he launched a white ball of electricity from its tip at the Aggron. The monster swayed and fell with a rumble like thunder, an immovable mountain of rock and steel in the hallway.

Satisfied, Angela called her Pokemon over. A sound from behind, where Eyone and Perry were fighting, caught her attention. A cry for help? She turned and found Perry pinned to the wall by an Aggron whose jaws seemed to be inching for his throat. As she watched, Perry's Shuppet dealt the final blow to the monster, and it collapsed over his body. She hurried over with her Pokemon.

"Perry! Are you alright?" she yelled, kneeling beside him. What a stupid question - obviously he wasn't alright, he was trapped under Lord knows how many tons of metal. "Hold still, we're going to get you out!" Her Marshtomp knew Strength. He knelt beside the fallen Aggron and tried to grip some part of the bulky metal. Jin and Misa looked on from aside. Jin looked concerned, but made no move to help. Both Pokemon knew how useless they were in this situation.

With tremendous effort, Tan managed to lift the corpse up a few inches, then another, but it wasn't enough. Gasping, he carefully moved the it back to where it was, trying not to injure Perry. Angela realized they were going to need some help. "Eyone! Michael!" she cried. "Perry needs help! HELP!"

{{ RainbowMunchies, I think your Metagross might come in handy here. ;D }}

"There's too many!" Shouted Angela.
Indeed, there was still a great number of them. Eyone's Growlithe and Sneasel were taking care of one side while Angela's Flaafy and Marshtomp handeled the other alongside Haunter.
("I sure hope they can take them.") Perry hoped. ("Maybe Shuppet can help out!")
But before Perry could take the Pokéball from his belt, a loud thumping was headed his direction. Perry quickly looked up and saw an Aggron raising his arm in a threatening way. Then, before Perry could even flinch, it swung its arm right into him.
Perry felt a powerful blow to his chest and fell onto his back. The attack was quite painful, yet Perry was so surprised that he didn't pay any attention to it. He started to get back up, when a large arm pressed himself against the wall. The Aggron now had him trapped in its claws. Perry was terrified to see the glowing blue eyes staring at him angrily, and even more scared as its jaws closed in on him.
"...Help!!" Perry shouted out!
He couldn't reach his Pokéballs; his hands were caught under the Aggron's hand.
The metal monster was just about to bite his throat, when Perry saw his Shuppet behind the Aggron. He then realized that her Pokéball flew out of his belt.
Shuppet flew with rage and latched onto the Aggron's head, having the beast shake its head frantically to loosen her grip. In the process, it dropped Perry onto the ground.
He looked up and saw Shuppet giving a hard hit on the Aggron, knocking it into a daze. The Aggron was about to faint, until Perry saw that it was swerving in his direction.
Unfortunately, he couldn't move in time. The gigantic Pokémon dropped down on top of him and.....SLAM!!

{OOC: Am I correct on which sides of the hall the Pokémon are fighting?}

Matthew roused the others in a panic. Fia was on his heels from the moment the noise had begun, and in a flash they were all in the hallway. He planned to lead them to another hiding space of his, but they were cut off by a rather brutal looking pack of aggron charging through the hallway all at once. He gasped in surprise, reaching as if by instinct to his belt, where Eben and Roohi sat, awaiting his orders.

The human in the green shirt to the right of Matthew let out his haunter, who charged the beasts bravely, but stalled when no orders were called out to it.

"M-Matthew?" the boy next to him stammered. "You don't by chance know what's best against them...right?"

Matthew considered. These weren't mutants-- just regular pokemon. There wasn't anything specific that he could say affected them, except for type advantage. He thought quickly about it, but the other guy in the group answered, tossing out his growlithe and sneasel at the same time. While he spoke, the two pokemon performed their attacks-- it was almost as if they'd practiced the speech and actions beforehand.

"Well you see Perry, aggron's are steel types, and there are a couple things steel types are weak against, one of them is fighting type moves, like Reversal! And another one is fire types, like Fire Fang!"

Fighting and fire attacks eh? Matthew thought, unhooking Roohi from his belt. If that were the case, his dusclops should be more than enough for these guys. He sent the pokeball flying towards one of the un-distracted giants, hitting the ground dead center in front of him. The light shone and formed into a solid shape, before solidifying completely into Roohi's form. He screamed out at the Aggron, ready to fight. The metallic beast leaned in and screeched back at double the volume, but Roohi stood his ground.

Fia ran up to join the dusclops, standing by his side and looking rather small compared to the two beasts. But Matthew knew she could hold her own-- she'd proven it time and time again.

"Roohi!" he called over the sounds of battle to his left, "Fire Punch! Fia, help him out with a Shadow Ball!"

Both attacks were swift and merciless, hitting the arrgron dead center in his midsection. Roohi jumped up, his fist spontaneously ablaze, and slammed his entire arm into the creature, pushing back just as quickly to allow the Shadow Ball erupting from Fia's jaws to pass into the same spot. A crack appeared, glowing a deep gold, then red as the wound scattered across the aggron's body. It screeched in pain, bringing one massive arm down in an attempt to smash Roohi.

But the damage was done, and the attack was more than easy for the dusclops to dodge. Missing, the aggron fell forward behind the intensity of his own attack, and landed on his stomach not far from where Fia stood.

"Fia, Cut it. Roohi, finish it with another Fire Punch-- just to make sure it's really down."

Fia obliged, slamming her horn down on the aggron's back, causing it to squeal out in a pained call-- quickly cut short by Roohi's fist coming down on the silver back. It scorched and burned the metal, creating black, smudged, burnt chuncks of metal along it's back. It flailed a bit before Roohi jumped back, but then lay still.

Fia returned to his side, but a slamming noise ripped his attention away from Roohi and her. On the other side of the hall, the green-shirt boy was trapped beneath a fallen aggron. He rushed over, but turned again at the sound of a cry from Roohi-- another aggron was on him!

"Roohi!" he cried back over his shoulder, still moving towards Perry and Angela, "keep him off with an Ice Punch! I'll be right there-- this boy needs my help!"

With Roohi busy, Matthew knew he'd have to bring out Eben. He could feel the ball was warm to the touch when he pulled it out and expanded it-- a sign that the metacross had been hopping around, preparing for the inevitable fight. It had been a while since Eben had seen any action, as Matthew tended to do his best to avoid fighting the mutated kin of his fallen friends. He threw out the ball, and the light emerged to form into the mighty Eben. It screeched, stomping for a moment, before looking around and surveying the situation. Matthew gestured over to where Perry had been pinned, and Eben knew his duty immediately. It wasn't battling, but at least he was helping someone.

Eben stomped over, reaching out his front two legs and easily lifting the metallic beast. He lifted the mass over his head, before flinging it to the side-- narrowly missing another aggron that had been heading towards them. Without seeing if the boy was okay, Eben charged off towards the now-approaching aggron, eager to beat it to a pulp under Matthew's orders.
