Before Liliana could even think of a nice meal and heal for Nala in Cherrygrove, she noticed to men before the interance. They were bullying a little girl and shoving her around. She quickly hid behind a bush and called out Nala. In her condition there wasn't a lot Liliana could do if the men tried to hassle her too. But she had one thing that might save them, a gift from her sister. Rose has spared some money together two buy Liliana two potions for on her journey. She retrieved them from one of thte bags on her belt and sprayed its content over Nala. Nala sighed in relief and looked to be a lot better off than she was.

"Well, I guess we'll just have to pray for the best Nala," Liliana said as they walked toward the two of them. The girl had run off after she had to give them the content of her little bag and they were looking inside too see what they had gotten. It looked like a little bit of money along with some hairclips and a coupon for the convenience store. The two were definitely not happy. The annoyed look on one of their faces changed into a smirk when they took note of her.

"Hey there sweetheart! Come to shower us in prizes? That little rodent will do!" The other chimed in. "Yeah, there's a fee for coming here. Let's say.. Al of your money will also have to do!" They both snickered.

"And you're going to quietly let me pass if I give you my Pokémon and my money, right?" Liliana said sarcastically. As if they would. "Just screw off and let me pass!"

The grin quickly got replaced by a look of rage. "Maybe we don't want your green monster, it looks weak. It would probably get KO'ed by a Dunsparce. Maybe we should check our theory, huh Sam?"

"Don't give her my name you idiot! Why do you think we wear these masks?!

"Oh, right, my bad. Anyway the only problem is that we don't have any Dunsparce, so you will have to do with THIS!" He threw a Pokéball in the air and a Croagunk came out. "Croagunk start with a nice Mudslap!" The Croagunk whipped up a stream of mud towards Nala, but she dodged it quickly and by command of Liliana fired a tackle against Croagunk. Croagunk got hit and angrily puffed out its cheeks.

"Croagunk use Poison Sting now!" Croagunk listened to its trainer and fired poisonous darts at Nala but once again she dodged them with her newfound energy. Another tackle followed and hit Croagunk, who wasn't well known for its speed anyway. It started puffing out its cheeks even more ferociously as it glared at Nala who had hit it twice now.

"Come one you useless thing! Muddslap!" Once again Croagunk scraped his hand along the mud and threw a whole bunch at Nala. Nala was too close to him to dodge it this time and her back got hit as she tried to get away, but she just shook herself to shake the mud off and launched yet another tackle. Liliana knew that grass attacks wouldn't have a lot of affect anyway. But she had no need to try them because another full frontal tackle took care of Croagunk, who tried to get up but failed.

"I knew you were useless from the start, you idiot. Come back!" The other masked man stepped in for his partner in crime and released a Riolu.

"Defeat this one I dare ya! I'm not such an idiot as he is!" The other one didn't looks very happy with this statement but his objections were drowned out by Sam's command. "Riolu, Quick Attack!"
Liliana barely had time to tell Nala to use a Growl when Riolu hit her. She got up fine and started her low growl from the back of her throat which seemed to intimidate Riolu.

"Nala, use Razor Leaf!" Nala obliged and swung 5 sharp leaves at Riolu. Riolu was significantly faster than Croagunk had been and dodged all of them except one, which hit him in the ball of the foot. He had some troubles standing on that one it seemed which made Liliana wonder just how badly it had been cut.

"Riolu Quick Attack again!" Sam called out and Riolu jumped forward and hit Nala again. She wasn't equipped against such speed. But her growl had also done its work and the attack was less severe than it had been before. Liliana asked her to perform a tackle and Nala answered by running toward the opponent at full speed. Riolu however, easily avoided it even with a damaged foot. It leaped away from her in the air.

"Right, Nala, now quickly fire a Razor Leaf up at him!" Nala released five more sharp leaves, and Riolu had nowhere to go in the air. All five of them caught him and he cringed when he landed.

"Now Nala! Tackle again!"

"Riolu Endure!" Riolu crossed his arms in front of him and waited for Nala to hit him, which she did. Even thought he had braced himself against her attack, it still did significant damage. Riolu seemed rather beat up now. But that didn't stop him from quickly firing another Quick Attack while Nala was close. She got hit full on and they both seemed very beat up. Both breathing heavily they faced eachother waiting for their trainer's calls. Sam was first.

"Riolu, Quick Attack!"

"Nala stop him with a Razor Leaf!"

As Riolu sped towards Nala she released her Razor Leaf catching the Riolu square in the face. He tried to get up and continue his Quick Attack, but he simply couldn't and fell to the ground. Nala stood panting, but with her head held high and proud of her won battle.

Sam quickly picked up his Pokémon and did a sort of dive-roll into the bushes while his partner followed him. Now Liliana stood alone, facing no one but a little pink purse with its content sprayed across the floor. She picked up Nala and the little purse, gave the bag to the first person she saw in Cherrygrove with the direction to give it to the girl and hurried Nala to the Center. She'd had more than her day's worth of being beat up.

@Dutchesse- Great Post! Loved the highwaymens personalities! Nala hit level 10 and learned Poison Powder!

Sahib heard them talking, so he lightly pushed the door open a bit further to hear more. He heard the whole thing, when suddenly he pressed to hard on the door, and Sahib fell flat on his face in front of both of them. They looked at him. He looked up and blinked. One man was older looking, so he assumed it was the mayor. The other man was younger and rather bulky.

"Who the hell are you!?" The man says. He aimed his switchblade in Sahib's direction. The man stopped suddenly and laughed, noticing Sahib's Pokeballs on his backpack strap as he slowly got up. "Hmm...Maybe there is a better way of settling this!" He grinned and pulled out a Pokeball. Sahib's eyebrows shot up. Just as I had expected though…another battle! He had to admit, he was ready to fight.

Sahib scrambled to his feet and grabbed Sentret's Pokeball. I'll save Cyndaquil for a bit later, he reasoned. Sahib tossed Sentret's Pokeball, and in a flash of light the Pokémon appeared. It looked around and glared at the biker when he noticed the man. The biker blinked and laughed, but tossed his Pokeball as well. A male Nidoran appeared. Sahib registered it quickly before gearing up for the next battle of the day.

"Nidoran, begin with leer," the biker stated. He crossed his arms and leaned against the desk, looking rather bored. Sahib's eyes narrowed. Sentret flinched slightly, but not terribly bad.

"Get it with a tackle attack!" Sahib called, pointing to the leering Nidoran. Sentret quickly smashed into Nidoran, causing it to smack into the nice looking desk. Hope we don't damage stuff too much…Sahib thought, blinking rapidly. He shrugged it off soon enough. "Now go for another tackle!" Sahib called, knowing that Sentret's other move, foresight, probably wouldn't help much in this particular battle. Just as Sentret was about to hit, Nidoran dodged quickly and caused Sentret to smack into the desk. There really isn't enough room in here, Sahib thought dryly.

"Now Nidoran, attack Sentret with peck! Then focus your energy while the little rat is down!" the biker growled angrily. Nidoran nodded and pecked Sentret rapidly, causing Sentret to look rather spinny and dizzy. As Sentret was recovering, Nidoran began to pump its energy and prepare for a super-charged attack.

"I don't think so!" Sahib called. "Sentret, snap out of it and get it with a tackle before it finishes!" Sentret blinked, snapping out of its dazed look. It squeaked and tackled Nidoran again, but this time Nidoran crashed against the wall. It slumped slightly, going down for the count. Wow…that was easy! Sahib thought happily. I'll bet this'll be a piece of cake!

"Humph…Nidoran was just a little toy anyway," the biker grumbled. He recalled Nidoran in a flash of red light. "Now the real show begins!" he cried, tossing the next Pokeball. In a brilliant flash of white light, a Tyrogue took its stance. Sahib quickly registered it in his Pokedex. "Tyrogue, no games now. Get in there and use fake out to start!" the man growled.

Tyrogue nodded and proceeded to use the move. Sentret was baffled at first, but then Tyrogue hit. It caused Sentret to flinch, effectively allowing Tyrogue to use tackle afterwards. Sentret slammed against the wall and skidded down it. Sahib's expression turned to one of surprise. Alright…so maybe this is harder than I thought it would be, he concluded, noting that the Tyrogue seemed rather young yet strong.

"Sentret, get up and use tackle against Tyrogue!" Sahib called. Sentret finally pulled itself together and got up. It charged at Tyrogue, but just before it could hit Tyrogue sidestepped. Sahib smirked. "Now!" he shouted. Sentret whipped around and slammed into Tyrogue, smashing them both into the desk. Tyrogue got up, rubbing its head. Sentret stayed down, completely and utterly fainted. Sahib sighed softly and recalled Sentret. Then he grabbed Cyndaquil's Pokeball. You're my last hope, Sahib thought, noting that the leader still had one more Pokémon after Tyrogue. "So let's…make this count!" he called, tossing Cyndaquil's Pokeball. Cyndaquil appeared in a flash of light, the flames on his back igniting for the first time. Sahib grinned widely.

"Bah! It's just a puny little Cyndaquil! Tyrogue, get it with tackle!" the leader called, pointing to Cyndaquil. He was no longer simply leaning on the desk like the battle was nothing.

"Cyndaquil, smokescreen! Follow up with tackle!" Sahib called. Cyndaquil quickly let out a jet of black smoke. It narrowly avoided Tyrogue's tackle attack, and instead slammed into the Pokémon from behind. Tyrogue cried out as it was cast out of the heavy smoke and tossed out the door and into the hall.

"T…Tyrogue?" the boss questioned, blinking. Tyrogue got up. You could almost see fire in its eyes as it charged back in the room, leaping into the smoke and attempting to find Cyndaquil.

"Cyndaquil let's finish this with another tackle attack," Sahib stated calmly. He was sure they would win this easily. Tyrogue was in a fit of rage, meaning that it basically had no control over its motives whatsoever. Before Cyndaquil could attack, however, there was a cry as it was expelled from the smoke by Tyrogue's tackle. Sahib's eyebrow shot up. The bike gang leader looked smug. The mayor gulped, knowing that this kid likely couldn't beat the biker.

"See? There's no way you can beat me. Besides, you're just a kid," the biker stated, scoffing lightly.

Sahib looked down, glaring at the floor. He then looked at the biker. He pointed to the biker and said, "I will beat you. Wanna know why? 'Cuz I'm going to be one of the greatest trainers that ever lived, and you're just another obstacle in my way! I'm not going to loose to some lowlife scum like you!" Sahib gnashed his teeth together and looked at Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil looked fiercer already. "Now Cyndaquil, let's finish this with a leer and tackle combo!"

Cyndaquil nodded and gave his best leer attack on the Tyrogue. Tyrogue cowered under Cyndaquil's leer. Finally it was done, Tyrogue's defense was lowered enough. Cyndaquil charged, not allowing Tyrogue to have a chance to recover. Before the biker could call a dodge for Tyrogue, Cyndaquil slammed into the Pokémon. Tyrogue crashed into one of the windows, creating a small crack in it. It dropped to the floor, looking fainted and almost lifeless. Cyndaquil huffed in triumph and moved back over to stand closer to Sahib. Sahib smirked at the biker. The biker's upper lip curled into a snarl as he recalled Tyrogue.

"No matter. A fire type has no chance of beating my next Pokémon. GO!" With those words, the biker tossed his Pokeball in the air. In yet another flash of light, a Rhyhorn was standing in the room, taking up nearly all of the space. The mayor squeaked and moved further back along the wall. Sahib backed up slowly to give the Pokémon more battling room. The Rhyhorn snorted and scraped its large clawed feet on the floor. Cyndaquil blinked and looked rather frightened. Sahib quickly registered Rhyhorn as he had with the other few Pokémon.

"Alright. Cyndaquil let's open this up with tackle!" Sahib called. Cyndaquil really doesn't stand a chance! I mean…tackle won't do much. I'll have to use leer several times to get Rhyhorn's defense down…Sahib thought, trailing off. He shook his head and zoned back in on the battle. Cyndaquil hit Rhyhorn, but Rhyhorn just yawned and looked at Cyndaquil like it was something unworthy and puny.

"Hah! Rhyhorn, show that little rat a real tackle! Use horn attack!" the boss shouted, pointing at Cyndaquil. Rhyhorn bared its head down and charged, slamming its giant horn against Cyndaquil's little body. Sahib's eyes went wide as Cyndaquil smashed into the wall behind him. The wall behind him was also located in the hallway, which was not very good on Cyndaquil's luck.

Sahib suddenly noticed something on his Pokedex. Cyndaquil could use ember. He finally put two and two together. His flames! No wonder they came on! Sahib thought in excitement. "Cyndaquil, let's show 'em what we've got! Use ember!" Sahib called, pointing at Rhyhorn.

The boss blinked and looked at Cyndaquil. Suddenly the flames on Cyndaquil's back sprang to life. Cyndaquil let out a little roar and shot a nice ember attack straight for Rhyhorn, effectively burning part of its steel looking face. Sahib smirked. Cyndaquil jumped around happily. Sahib ordered another ember, but before he could the boss stopped him in his tracks.

"Alright Rhyhorn, stomp on that little thing!" the boss growled. Rhyhorn roared and charged, slamming its foot down on Cyndaquil and refusing to let up. Cyndaquil squealed and wiggled around, trying to get free. "HA! Now horn attack!" the boss called. Sahib looked and saw a crazy look in his eyes. It almost seemed like he was trying to kill Cyndaquil or something.

"Cydaquuuuuuuil!" Cyndaquil cried. It suddenly spewed out a mouthful of flames on Rhyhorn's already hurt looking face. Rhyhorn roared in pain, falling back off Cyndaquil and pawing at its face. Sahib let out a breath, glad to see that Cyndaquil was damaged but still able to fight. "Cynda…" Cyndaquil panted. The flame on its back was slowly going down, signaling that its fuel was running out.

"Rhyhorn, shake that off! You're stronger than a puny little rat!" the boss spat. He glared angrily at Rhyhorn. The mayor looked panic stricken, but knew he couldn't move for fear of getting attacked. "Now tail whip! Lower the little rat's defense and then finish it with a horn attack!" the boss shouted. His voice could've probably been heard from downstairs, he was being so loud.

Rhyhorn roared. It whipped around, slamming its barely existent spike of a tail into Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil whimpered as its defense was lowered rather significantly. Sahib clenched his fists into tight balls as he watched, unsure of how to go about this. Rhyhorn suddenly reared and slammed its horn down on Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil cried out and flew backwards, slamming into Sahib and causing them both to smack against the wall. Sahib bit on his lip as he went, causing blood to appear at the corner of his mouth. He winced and glared at the Rhyhorn. Cyndaquil scrambled off of him and looked at him worriedly.

"I'm fine, Cyndaquil," Sahib grumbled. He wiped the corner of his chin and licked his lips. "Finish it! Use ember!" Sahib shouted. He had noticed that Rhyhorn had received a burn from the ember attack previously, so Sahib decided to use this unsuspected moment as a rather strong comeback attack. Cyndaquil spit out flames, and suddenly the toll was taken. Rhyhorn collapsed on the ground. The boss looked stunned. He recalled Rhyhorn silently. Cyndaquil fell on the ground, not fainted yet close to it once more. Nurse Joy is gonna kill me, Sahib thought dryly. With those final thoughts, he recalled Cyndaquil and pushed up from the floor.

"You're lucky…" the man growled slowly. He picked Sahib up by his collar and slammed him against the wall, glaring at him angrily. Sahib felt a tiny trickle of blood fall from his lip. "I should bust you up," the leader snarled. He flicked out his knife. He pressed it against Sahib's gut quickly, and then moved to his throat. "You're just lucky I'm a man of my word and I honor that!"

Sahib stared at him evenly, an icy look in his gaze. "No. You're a coward," Sahib stated simply. "If you really wanted to, you would've killed me. You're just too afraid to," Sahib sneered.

The man began to slowly turn purple. Without another word, he dropped Sahib and whipped around, stomping out of the office angrily. He called to his men. They jogged after him and soon disappeared back down the stairs. Sahib walked over to the mayor after getting up once more.

"Are you alright?" he questioned.

"Yes, and I thank you dearly m'boy," the man stated. He dabbed at his forehead with his handkerchief. "I would like to give you something…" he trailed off. "So I have a gift for you! Here it is!"

(OOC: Oh yeah, 4 pages! XD Thanks for letting Cyndaquil learn ember, Sumner =) )

@Fenris- Congratulations! Cindaquil hit level 10 and learned nothing XD! Sentret hit level 7 and learned Quick Attack! Whats this? The mayor handed you a gift, you unwrap it and recieve TM17 Protect! Sorry couldnt resist it just seemed too appropriate...

As Jakki saw Cherrygrove, she was filled with relief. "My Pokemon need a rest, so I should go straight to the Pokemon Center!" However, when she came closer she noticed two suspicious looking men on either side of the entrance. "Well, hopefully they won't bother me," she thought as she walked on by. Unfortunately, she was wrong.

"Where do you think your going kiddo? I don't know if you knew this but there is a toll for walking through those gates. Now hand over all your Pokemon and money or we will take them by force!" The two men look down on you with a mischievous grin and hold out their Pokeballs ready for a fight. Jakki looked nervous, both of her Pokemon were injured, and there was no way out of it.

"There's no way you're taking my Pokemon!" she said. "And if I have to fight you both at the same time then so be it!" She took out her Pokeballs. "Glimaru! Piiko!" she called as her two Pokemon came out. Both Pokemon looked a little worn out, but still seemed up to battle.

The two highway men smirked. "Heh, you've got a lot of spunk, girlie!" said one. "Yeah, we'll get you to know your place, kid." said the other. They both brought out their Pokemon, which were Riolu and Croagunk. They both looked pumped for battle. "Use Quick Attack on the Gligar," said the first. "Use Poison Sting on the Caterpie," said the second. The Riolu charged at the Gligar, while the Croagunk fired poisonous barbs out of it's mouth.

"Glimaru, dodge and use Poison Sting! Piiko, use your String Shot!" Glimaru quickly flew upwards, then swooped down and stung Riolu on the back. Piiko shot string from it's mouth at Croagunk, catching the Poison Sting attack with it, and wrapped itself around the Croagunk. The Croagunk struggled unable to break free.

"Tch. Use Quick Attack again!" commanded the first highwayman. "Use Poison Sting on the String Shot." called the other. The Riolu quickly turned around and quickly attacked Glimaru, who was too close to dodge the attack. Croagunk used Poison Sting on itself, which ended up damaging itself a bit, but cut the String Shot, and freed it's arms.

"Darn it," she muttered. "Maybe I should change it up a bit. Piiko, use String Shot on Riolu! Glimaru, hit Croagunk with a Sand Attack!" Piiko used her String shot on Riolu, preventing it from moving. Glimaru threw sand at Croagunk, and tried to blind it.

"Hey!" shouted the highwaymen angrily. "Croagunk, use Taunt!" The still partially blind Croagunk taunted the Pokemon, making them irritated. "Riolu, break free of the String Shot!" Riolu began to struggle to get out of the string, but was still stuck.

"Hmm. Now that my Pokemon are irritated, they'll only respond to damaging moves." thought Jakki. "Glimaru, use Poison Sting on Croagunk. Piiko, Tackle Croagunk as well!" Both Pokemon attacked the Croagunk simultaneously, causing it to lose a lot of health.

"You'll pay for this!" shouted the highwayman. "Use Mud Slap!" The Croagunk responded by hurling mud at Piiko.

"Quickly, get in front of Piiko, Glimaru!" Jakki commanded. Glimaru flew infront of the incoming attack, and protected Piiko. Glimaru quickly shook it off, unharmed. The highwayman looked confused. "Hey, why did that attack not hurt him?!" he yelled. "It's simple," she replied. "Glimaru is a Flying-type, so Ground-type moves, don't affect it. Now, Tackle it, Piiko!" Piiko quickly responded with a Tackle, that knocked out the Croagunk.

Then, Jakki's focus switched towards the Riolu, who managed to break free, but was still sticky from the String Shot. "Now you two, hit the Riolu with your Tackle and Poison Sting!" The two Pokemon started attacking the Riolu, who seemed to be taking a beating. "Use Endure!" commanded the highwayman. Riolu then started to glow as he endured the attacks. "Heh, no matter how hard you hit him, he's not gonna go down! Now use your Counter!" The Riolu began to glow again, and Jakki's Pokemon took damage when they attacked him again.

Gligar, who looked very beat up, began to grow fatigued, and fainted. "No! Glimaru!" shouted Jakki. "Oh well, you did your best." She returned the Gligar to his Pokeball. Now it was all up to her Caterpie, who looked tired as well. "Piiko, use String Shot on Riolu again!" Piiko once again used her String Shot on Riolu, who looked annoyed to be tied up again. "Now, use Tackle!" Piiko started to charge at Riolu, who used Endure again, to keep itself from fainting. "Tackle, one more time!" Piiko began to Tackle once more, and managed to knock out the Riolu, who could endure no longer.

The two guys looked stunned as they recalled their Pokemon. "Y-You'll pay for this!" they shouted in unison, before quickly running off into the bushes. "Heh." Jakki said. "I guess they couldn't stand the fact that a girl beat them." She quickly recalled her Caterpie, and sighed in relief. "Well, I'm glad that's over. We barely survived that one."

After spotting the Pokemon Center, she quickly rushed towards the entrance. "Could you please heal my Pokemon!" Jakki shouted, out of breath. "Why sure," replied the nurse sweetly. She took the two Pokeballs and took them to be healed. Jakki then sat down on a couch in exhaustion.

Once her Pokemon were healed, she took exited the center to get a good look at the town. It was a very small town, though slightly bigger than New Bark Town. "This seems like a nice town," she thought. "I wonder about those goons though. I don't remember hearing about any of them around these parts. Maybe I should talk to the Mayor about it."

Jakki searched for the building, when she finally came across the Mayor's house. "Now I'll know what's really happening around here." she thought as she walked through the door. She began to wander down hallways and climb stairs, not knowing where his office was. "I wonder where everyone is?" she thought. "Maybe it's their day off or something..." She eventually reached an open doorway to a large room that looked like the main office.

Before she went inside, however, she spotted two figures in the office. "Oh boy," she thought. "I really hope this isn't a bad time..."

@PsychoJigglypuff- Great post! Congrats, Gligar hit level 8 and Caterpie hit level 5!

The flower field slowly gave way to a dirt path that narrowed into Cherrygroove City, the verdant town of nature. From what Damion could see, there was a pokemon center up ahead. Beyond that, masses of small buildings and homes were gathered around the middle of the city, the small archway that was the entrance seemed to be guarded by two man.

Taro ran ahead, happy to be able to get some food. "Lar! Larvitar!!!!!!!"

"Hold up Taro! Geez…..you're faster than you look with those stubby legs of yours."

Taro sighed as Damion started a little. He caught up to his little companion and walked at an easy pace towards the city. They neared the entrance as they passed by two rather husky men, they boy wore brown trench coats and wore highwaymen masks.

Damion closed his eyes as he calmly listened to his music. They walked a few more steps when suddenly Damion felt pressure on his throat as he was being pulled back by his hood.

"Hey, kid! If you didn't notice we're protecting this here city!" The larger man said as he held onto Damion's hood.

"Yeah! So we're gonna have to asks you to give us all of yer pokemons." The smaller man said with an italian mobber accent. Damion scoffed,

"I'm just a trainer passing by, I mean no harm." The men chuckled,

"Do you think we were born yesterday?" The large man looked down at Damion who in turn poked his face,

"Not with those wrinkles. Now let me down!" Damion shouted as he struck the man's arm, causing him to release his grip. Taro proceeded to jump in front of Damion in protection,

"Haha. I thinks this kid wants a battle from us!" The smaller man laughed at Damion as the larger man proceeded to pull out a small treat. Both men pulled out their pokeballs and they continued to laugh. Damion seemed unfazed,

"So are you gonna fight or just continue to gain weight?" Damion pointed at the huskier man, who in turn growled and launched his pokeball at the ground in front of him. The smoke created by the ball hovered at the feet of a small blue and black pup pokemon.

"Hmm. A Riolu is steel-type, so sandstorm won't work. Let's start off with a leer attack!" Damion shouted as Taro proceeded to glare at Riolu with its tranced eyes.

"Now, Bite!!" The small green pokemon bit into Riolu's skin and spat him out onto the ground.

"Woah. This little kid's got some fight in him. Quick Attack!!" Riolu kicked off of the ground with one mighty strike of his foot as he dashed at lightning-speed towards Taro. THe larvitar was launched backwards a few feet.

"Taro, Leer once more!!" Taro proceeded to use the Leer attack, "Now Bite!!" Damion smirked as Taro bit into Riolu's skin once more ravagely. The Riolu fell to the floor, as Damion grinned. But the small pokemon soon stood up again, with wobbly feet.

"What?! Riolu should've been knocked out!" Damion protested, causing the husky man to laugh uncontrolably.

"Luckily, Riolu here knows the attack Endure. Lets it live, even after a normally powerful attack." Damion smirked,

"But it only works for one turn, Bite!!" The Larvitar quickly leaned to one side and twisted its body as it bit into the Riolu's skin. As the Larvitar righted itself on the ground it launched the Riolu, causing it to smack into the man's face. The man returned Riolu with disgust in his face, the lankier man with the italian accent stepped up.

"Yous ain't getting past me!!" The man threw his pokeball onto the ground to release a purple frog with pink cheeks,

"Sorry Taro, but you're gonna have to go another round. Tret is still too weak from your guys' battle back there. But luckily, this can can be affected by...Sandstorm!!" Damion grinned as Taro proceeded to create a large sandstorm, blinding the two men. Damion shielded his eyes,

"Now Taro, use Bite!!" Taro dashed at the purple figure in his blurred vision and proceeded to bit down into its soft skin. The Croagunk screamed in pain,

"Not too worry! Poison Sting!!" The man shouted, Damion clenched his teeth as he looked into his pokedex. Which caused a grin to appear on his face, in the middle of a sandstorm of all places. The Larvitar kneeled down on one of his stubby legs as a purple hue began to form onto the Larvitar's green skin.

"Taro! Your poisoned!Use Bite attack!!" Larvitar screamed as it leaped into the air and bit down one last time into the Croagunk's soft skin. The purple frog screeched as it fell to the floor with a thud, when the sandstorm cleared the lanky man proceeded to throw his ball at the fallen Croagunk.

"How did you KO Croagunk so quickly! Even after your stupid Larvitar was poisoned!!" Damion picked up Taro in his arm,

"Because Taro here, has the ability Guts. Which raises his attack whenever he's inflicted by a status condition, such as Poison." He grinned as the two men proceeded to run away into the large trees and bushes.

He sat down and released a large sigh of relief, "Good work buddy. You're too good! Now let's head to the Pokemon Center to get you fixed up."

~~~~~~~~~~
Damion grinned as he walked towards the front counter, he looked up at Taro who was on his shoulder.
"Hey buddy, we're here. Wake up-WHOA!" Damion fell backwards.
"BLISSEY!" The pinkish, oval shaped pokemon grinned happily and shoved the Egg from her pouch in the trainers face.
Taro sweatdropped. <I think she likes you.>
Damion grunted, returning the pokemon as he got back on his feet. The Blissey smiled and bounced off, startling other trainers and showing off its newly polished egg.
'No wonder grandpa doesn't like Chanseys, their entire evolution line is the DEVIL!' Damion thought to himself as he handed his pokeabll to Nurse Joy.
"Don't worry Damion, we'll get your Larvitar fixed up in no time. Just wait for a few minutes." The pretty lady had cerulean blue eyes and pink hair in two elaborate curls.
"Thanks Nurse Joy." Damion grinned as he walked to the side of the counter. He sat down promptly in front of a computer-like station.
"Let's see, Grandpa taught me how to use a PC." Damion quickly typed in a few keys and a window opened up with Damion's information on it.
"Now, I'll just transport Tret here to the Pokemon Box Storage System. So he'll be nice and safe with Bill." Damion grinned as he placed the ball in a small compartment next to the computer, it vanished in a flash of light and Damion sighed good-naturedly.
"Now, he'll be able to transport you back your pokemon whenever you wish." Damion was startled and turned to see Nurse Joy happily looked down at Damion from the counter.
"Oh, hi Nurse Joy." Damion grinned, "You startled me." The nurse giggled and flushed,
"Well here's your Larvitar, be good to him. He's a sweetie, just like his owner." The nurse giggled and Damion smiled as he exited the center.
"Now, I've got to warn the mayor about what happened with those two goons." He ran for a large house, the mailbox in front read: Mayor's House.
He walked up the walk-way as he spotted two figures speaking with the mayor inside, the men wore brown trenchcoats and masks. Damion froze in place,
"It's the two goons!!" Damion quickly dashed for the door...
@Charizard_Man: Good post Taro hit level 9 and Tret was stored in the PC
Jakki crept up behind the door that was still closed, and looked through the open one into the office. She saw two men who were having and argument, but from the distance she could only make out their voices.
"Now Mr.Mayor, wouldn't it be nice if you paid us to protect this small town here from invaders and such instead of calling us common thieves? I mean you wouldn't want the town to get a reputation for being home to a bunch of thieves would you?" She heard a gruff deep voice say.
"What are you talking about?" The other older sounding man said, "Either way you will continue to terrorize anyone who walks through the town! How would giving you money help any of us?"
The deep voiced man laughs, "Well I think giving us a protection fee would help you very much actually...." You hear a schwing sort of sound and a gasp from the mayor. "I mean right now we are just thieves... We could also end up being murderers if you don't pay me for your own protection."
"No.. Please..." The mayor said.
"Make your choice now!" Just then, Jakki accidentally leaned against the doorknob, and fell through the now opened door. She looked up at the two men. One of them was an elderly man, who she assumed was the mayor. The other was tall, and looked like a tough guy. "Well, this is awkward." she said.
"Who the hell are you!?" The man says. Aiming his switchblade in Jakki's direction. The man stops and laughs noticing her Pokemon and says. "Hmm... Maybe there is a better way of settling this!" He grinned and pulled out a Pokeball.
"Another battle, eh?" Jakki said, glad that her Pokemon were in top condition, yet still intimidated by the man. "Fine then, I accept! Go, Piiko!" She tosses the Pokeball, and releases her Caterpie to fight.
The man just laughs. "Ha! A Caterpie! That's pathetic. Let's see it try to beat my Nidoran!" He throws the Pokeball and releases a Nidoran ♂. "Use Peck!" The Nidoran charged at Piiko and hit her with his horn.
Jakki got worried. Peck was a Flying-type move, so Piiko took a decent amout of damage. "Piiko, use Sting Shot!" she called. Piiko got up, and use String Shot on Nidoran, covering it in sticky string. He struggled to get out. "Quickly, use your Tackle before he can break free!" Piiko quickly attacked the Nidoran with Tackle until it couldn't take anymore.
"Hmph," he grunted as he recalled Nidoran. "That thing was weak anyway." He pulled out another Pokeball. "Now, you will really see my power!" He sent out his second Pokemon, which was a Tyrogue. "Use Fake Out!" Tyrogue hit Piiko with Fake Out, which made her flinch.
"Snap out of it, Piiko!" Her Caterpie stalled for a bit, but was able to shake it off and come back to normal. "Now, use String Shot!" Piiko fired the string at Tyrogue, but he managed to shake it off rather quickly. "Tyrogue, use Tackle!" commanded the man. The Tyrogue quickly ran at the Caterpie and tackled it to the ground.
"Piiko looks rather low on health. She should rest a bit." Jakki recalled Piiko, and sent out Glimaru. "Attack with Poison Sting!" The Gligar swooped down and jabbed Tyrogue in the face with it's stinger. Tyrouge drew back from the poison.
"Don't just take that," shouted the man. "Hit it with Tackle!" Tyrouge tried to hit Glimaru, but he simply flew upwards and the last second, causing Tyrogue to crash into the wall. He quickly got back up, and into the battle again.
"Use Poison Sting, now!" Glimaru flew straight down, and hit Tyrogue with a Poison Sting on the head. After being drained of health by the Poison, Tyrogue fainted.
The man looked mad as he recalled Tyrogue, but suddenly his expression changed. "So, you may have beaten Tyrogue, but you'll never stand a chance against my trump card!" He then unleashed his final Pokemon, a Rhyhorn.
Jakki looked nervous. Rhyhorn was a lot bigger than her past opponents. It was probably very tough too. "No matter," she thought. "I can still beat this guy. Glimaru, use Sand Attack, and follow up with Poison Sting!" Glimaru used Sand Attack, hurling sand at Rhyhorn's eyes. He then hit him with Poison Sting, but he didn't seem to be hurt.
"Ha! You think some sand and a measly Poison Sting will help you?" The man laughed. "Show them what you got, Horn Attack!" Rhyhorn began to charge at Glimaru, and hit him hard. The Gligar flew across the room.
"Darn it," she thought. "What should I do? That Rhyhorn has tough defense and offense. Maybe, if I can drag this battle on enough... Glimaru, keep on using Poison Sting on the same spot!" Glimaru flew towards Rhyhorn hat hit it several times with it's stinger on one point near the back of it's head.
"It's hopeless, little girl," said the man. "You can just break through Rhyhorn's defence! His body is rock solid!" Just as he said that, Glimaru's stinger, penetrated the rock plates, and stuck into his body, injecting the poison. With so much poison to the system, it was only a matter of time before Rhyhorn fainted. However, it still kept up a good fight, going on a rampage, trying to fling the Gligar off of it's back.
Eventually, it succeeded it getting Glimaru off, and flung him into the wall again. He also hit him with Horn Attack, but by then it was too late, the poison had already spread through its system, and Rhydon fainted. Gligar barely held on after the barrage of attacks.
After the man recalls his Pokemon, he grabs Jakki by her coat." Your lucky I am a man of my honor kid, because if I hadn't been!" He holds the knife at your throat and sheaths it while laughing.
"Come on boys!" He says walking out and the two men she had beaten before came out from the bushes and followed behind their leader.
"Well, that was... interesting. But you did great Glimaru!" Jakki returned her Gligar to his Pokeball. She then noticed how trashed up the place was. "Wow, it probably wasn't smart to fight in an office."
"Oh, thank you very much!" said the Mayor, who was hiding behind his desk the whole time. "I can't thank you enough for helping me!" Jakki rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. "Oh it was nothing, really. You're not mad about the whole office thing?"
"Of course not! This can be fixed, no problem. In fact, I appreciate your help so much, I will give you a gift!" He reached into his desk drawer, and gives Jakki a gift.
Damion lightly pressed his entire body on the door, he placed his ear on the wooden door. This allowed him to faintly hear a discussion going on inside the Mayor's office,
"So, Mr. Mayor. Why do you insist on calling us thieves, we just wish to humbly serve you." A gruff, voice with a New York accent said.
"All we wish to get in return, is some salary." The voice continued to talk as grunting could be heard
"I say! Either way you will continue to create chaos in this city, you just want to scam an old man out of his money!" An elderly voice yelled out, causing the original voice to chuckle.
"Well, Mr. Mayor, I'm just looking out for you," A slight sound of sliding metal was heard, followed by the elderly man's gasp, "If you were to say...have an accident without us protecting you. Who knows what could happen..." The elderly man stood quiet, obviously agitating the original voice.
"ANSWER ME!!" Damion's eyes widened as he hand seemed to turn the knob, his weight caused him to collapse onto the floor.
"Damn." Damion cursed underneath his breath. He looked up and used his arms to force himself back up quickly.
"Hey! Hey! Now just who the hell are you! A cop?!" A large man with rippling muscles through his black shirt yelled out. His eyes seemed to burn up through his mask as he took the blade from its current position and pointed it at Damion who in turn closed his eyes and scoffed,
"Well if you are a bumbling idiot, which I take it you are, you would think a thirteen year old could be a cop. So I won't insult you." An elderly man simply looked at Damion and shook his head, seemingly telling him to get out. The man had a brown suit with a matching bowler hat, his thick mustache covered his lips.
The large man was infuriated and grunted, "What'd you call me?!" His eyes widened as he scanned Damion's body,
"Wait. Wait, instead of just killing you. Why don't I knock you down a few pegs, eh?" The man yelled as he reached into his pocket and retrieved a pokeball.
"Luckily, I just healed my Pokemon. Let's go, Taro!!" Damion shouted as he threw his pokeball at the floor, releasing the familiar Larvitar.
The large man chuckled as he fixed his large Mohawk, "Nidoran, teach this chump some manners! Focus Energy!!" The man yelled,
"Taro, use Leer to stop him!!" The small purple rodent pokemon with large blue ears closed its eyes as the ground around him began to crack slightly. Small embers of flame began forming around the pokemon but soon Taro's eyes turned a ghostly yellow causing the Nidoran to be distracted from its own attack,
"Hehe. Now, Sandstorm!!" As the sandstorm began to form, Damion flipped his pokedex open. He grinned at the fact that the Nidoran was such a low level compared to Taro.
"Alright, let's go Taro! Bite attack!!" The Larvitar viciously bit the Nidoran's plump body,
"Quickly! Use Peck!" The Nidoran swung its head at Larvitar, striking it with its point on its head. Taro ran back a few paces,
"Luckily this Nidoran doesn't have the Poison Point ability, Bite again!!" Taro bit the Nidoran's ear, causing the small rodent to fall into submission. The large man grunted as he threw the pokeball, the ball quickly bounced back into his hand.
"Well Nidoran was a new catch, let's see how you handle this!!" The man chuckled as he threw another pokeball at the ground, due to the sandstorm Damion could not see the pokemon clearly. Thankfully he was holding the pokedex,
"Tyrogue, with the Guts ability. I'll have the first attack! Taro, Leer attack!!"
"Oh, no you don't! Fakeout!!" The man yelled, but with Taro's superior speed it pulled off the attack first. Glaring at Tyrogue with its intimidating, glowing eyes. Tyrouge then proceeded to use its own attack, dashing at the Larvitar.
"Haha! A pointless attack, Fakeout does nothing if it isn't the first attack! Bite!!" Damion grinned in satisfaction as his pokemon dashed and bit into the Pokemon's arm. Tyrouge proceeded to run around, trying to shake off Taro.
"Keep your grip on there, Taro!" Damion commanded,
"Tyrouge, Tackle! Use that stupid pokemon as a cushion when you fall!!" The man yelled out. His pokemon leaped into the air and fell down with immense power. He stuck out his arm, using Larvitar as a cushion.
Tyrouge stood up, Damion was shocked to see Larvitar injured on the floor.
"Taro!!" Damion looked down into his pokedex, Torouge's HP was critical, "The Sandstorm should finish it off right about now, but Taro still has about half HP." Damion spoke to himself.
Just as he predicted the purple pokemon fell to the floor with a thud,
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!!!!" The muscle-filled man yelled out, "HOW CAN A KID BE BEATING ME!!! YOU ASKED FOR IT!!" The man shouted out as he threw his third and final pokeball, Damion clenched his teeth as he prepared for the final pokemon.
From the bright light came a large figure, a hefty shadow as all Damion could see through the sandstorm. He quickly looked down at his Pokedex,
"Damn! A rock type, Sandstorm does nothing!!" Damion shouted at himself, "Alright, use Leer to lower its defense!!" Damion shouted, Taro listened to his trainer and proceeded to use the attack.
"Haha! Now you're in for it!! Horn Attack!!" The large rock pokemon ran towards Taro,
"Wow! It feels like a stampede, Taro! Bite Attack!!" The two pokemon ran towards each other, the large rock pokemon pointing its head upwards to strike Taro. But the Larvitar stealthily grabbed the horn and used it as support when he jumped onto the pokemon back, biting it savagely.
"Stomp!!" The man yelled out, causing the rhyhorn to shake off the small Larvitar. The pokemon righted itself in the air and landed on his feet,
"Watch out Taro!!" The large pokemon leaped into the air and quickly shot down, the sand storm subsided. Damion watched as the Rhyorn slowly stepped out of the crater it created, in the center of the crater was a damaged Taro.
"Taro, are you alright?!" Damion shouted, the small green pokemon stood up slowly. Damion growled as he looked at his pokedex,
'Taro's HP is critical, I have to lower Rhyhorn's defense as much as possible and then strike!' Damion thought to himself, "Taro, Leer!!" The Larvitar glared at Rhyhorn with daggers in his eyes, if looks could kill, Rhyhorn would be dead.
The rock Pokemon's defense was lowered even more, "Use, Scary Face!!" The man shouted,
"Leer, again!!" Damion commanded, the two pokemon were facing each other off. Taro's speed was lowering while Rhyhorn's defense was lowering. Rhyhorn made a horrible face that struck feat into Taro's heart.
"That should do it, Bite Attack!!" Larvitar jumped onto Rhyhorn's back and bit down several times, seemingly chewing on the Rhyhorn. The rock pokemon was fatigued and hurt by the attacks as it laid down. Swirls in its eyes.
"We did it, Taro!! We won!" Damion snapped his fingers, extending his hands towards the Larvitar. Taro happily sprung into his arms and nuzzled his trainer's face,
"Return, you must be tired." The small green pokemon clicked the button on the pokeball causing him to be sucked into the ball.
The man walked by his knocked out Rhyhorn, quickly recalling it. As he placed the ball back in his pocket he stuck out the razor blade, Damion's eyes widened. The man grabbed Damion by the chest of his sweater and picked him up until his was eye-level,
" Your lucky I am a man of my honor kid, because if I hadn't been!" He pressed the knife up the Damion's cheek, he cut Damion's cheek slightly. The man took back his knife and let go of Damion, causing him to fall onto the floor. He looked up at the man with a horrible stare, a small drop of blood falling down his cheek.
"Let's go boys, this boy isn't worth it." Damion ignored that statement and closed his eyes calmly. The two goons from the town gate followed the larger man and slightly hit Damion with their shoulder.
Damion chuckled as they left and walked over to the mayor,
"Hello there! Are you alright, sorry I didn't get here earlier!" Damion grinned warmly at the man, the elderly man seemed shocked.
"Well thank you young man, but why are you asking me if I'm alright. You just ran off three of the biggest criminals on this side of the forest!" The mayor was shocked, Damion shook his head.
"No, don't worry about me. Here, let me untie you." Damion quickly untangled the rope that had the mayor in their ropey bonds.
"Thank you very much young man! You are very courageous and modest, you deserve a gift!" The mayor grinned,
"Oh, no thank you. It's alright." Damion stuck his hands up and shook them lightly,
"I insist. Here, I found it. Take it, it would make me very happy!" The Mayor smiled at Damion...
After Nala was completely healed up Liliana decided to go see the town for a bit. Perhaps even find something out about the two criminals. The town was a little bigger than New Bark, but still not big enough to have a Gym. Just the Pokémon Mart and the Center, which every self-respecting city should have. She stopped to admire a particularly large building, one that could only be owned by an important person such as a Mayor or something. She hear raised voices from inside and decided to see whatever was going on.
"Now Mr.Mayor, wouldn't it be nice if you paid us to protect this small town here from invaders and such instead of calling us common thieves? I mean you wouldn't want the town to get a reputation for being home to a bunch of thieves would you?"
"What the hell?" she muttered as she subconsciously touched Nala's Ball for the reassurance that it was still there.
"What are you talking about? Either way you will continue to terrorize anyone who walks through the town! How would giving you money help any of us?"
"Well I think giving us a protection fee would help you very much actually.... I mean right now we are just thieves... We could also end up being murderers if you don't pay me for your own protection."
She heard a sharp intake of breath and assumed it was the second man's, but hoped it was the first one's. This seemed fishy, very fishy. Well besides the fact that the first man had just threatened to kill people that is.
"Make your choice now!"
Liliana gasped. She hadn't meant to, and it wasn't very loud. But nonetheless she heard heavy footsteps outside the door. It swung open to reveal a bulky man with a scruffy beard and a bandana. He was wearing a leather jacket and jeans with holes in them and there was a switchblade in his hand. Crap!
He eyed her over carefully, as if assessing if she was a threat or not. He didn't seem to think a lot of her, she was short and thin and barely a threat to a man like him, but then his eyes slid over Nala's ball, which she was clutching.
"Hmm, interesting. You've got spunk, girl, but I'm afraid I can't let you leave here." He smiled as he twisted the switchblade around in his hand. He stepped a little closer and Liliana felt a cold wave of fear wash over her.
"W-what if I challenge you? Will y-you let me go?" Her voice shook even though she tried to keep it steady, but this man was towering over her with a switchblade in his hand. Thankfully the Mayor backed her up.
"I can't give you your money if you kill her you know. You promised not to kill anyone if I paid you. There would be no bargain if you did it now." His voice was surprisingly stead for an elder man who had just been threatened. And did she imagine it or did he just flash her a smile?
The criminal let out a snort. "Fine, I'll accept your challenge. But if I win you will never talk of any of this. Perhaps I'll even cut off your tongue to keep you to that promise!" Another huffy laugh as he released a little orange critter. A male Nidoran. He scratched the ground eagerly as his red eyes looked expectantly at Liliana.
"Well what are you waiting for, chickie? Release your plaything and let's get going!" Right, please to god Nala, I want to keep my tongue! she thought as she released Chikorita. Nala watched the Nidoran with suspicion, its poison type unsettled her.
"Nala, tackle the thing please!" Nala jumped at the Nidoran eagerly. And jumped meant jumped, she leaped into the air and came down ready to hit him when Nidoran lifted his horn forward and jumped into a peck. The two collided and Nidoran bounced back and landed on the floor painfully. Nala landed on her feet, but the Peck hit her pretty hard. Type
disadvantage, don't you just hate them?
"Nidoran, I need you to focus your energy and take it down at once!" The man huffed his strange laugh again. "It's not gonna last chickie, it's already getting tired." He was wrong, Nala got a bad hit there, but she was nowhere near tired. Plus, her lever was more than 3 times that of Nidoran. She could take him.
"Nala! Jump up into a tackle!" She liked the idea of a jumping tackle. Nala leaped up and the Nidoran who had been glowing white around his feet was now propping up for another peck, but Liliana wasn't going to let him. "Nala, first use Razor Leaf!" in the middle of the air Nala released some leaves. They all hit Nidoran but didn't do much. The wanted affect was reached though, because while the Nidoran was recoiling from the leaves it hadn't had the time to leap up in a peck and it got hit by a falling tackle. It slammed hard into the floor and wonder by wonder, it got up again.
Liliana sighed," Nala, use Razor Leaf again!' Nala released a single leaf this time, it hit Nidoran straight in the forehead and the thing went down like a house of cards. That was one, two more to go if Liliana had to judge from the balls that hang from this snakeskin belt. Hang in there Nala, we can do this!.
"Don't worry, that thing was just a preview of my real power! Now you get to see a master in action! Tyrogue, TACKLE!," another snort as he released a Tyrogue. As soon as it landed it jumped up again in a tackle. Nala had no time to react it all went too fast. She got hit and slammed against the walls.
"NALA!" Nala slowly got up and nodded her head. She faced Tyrogue again, who was looking rather pleased with himself, and launched a tackle. She hit him fair in chest and it was his turn to hit a wall. Nala was panting now with an angry and determined expression on her face. She did not like this Tyrogue on bit. He got up and narrowed his eyes before going into a tackle again. Neither trainer had any control over their Pokémon anymore. They were taking simply tackling eachother. Liliana could only gasp every time Nala slammed into the wall or the ground. Finally they both launched a tackle at the same time. The impact was so great that both of them rebounded into the air after impact.
Liliana was just quick enough to catch Nala, slamming into the wall as she did so. Nala let out a long not of approval and thank, but she looked like she couldn't face another hit. Tyrogue, thankfully, did not get caught by his master and slammed full force into a desk, splitting it into two. There was paperwork everywhere and a fainted Pokémon in the middle of it. The criminal was not looking so smug all of a sudden. No he looked very annoyed and even a bit frightened. What was his next Pokémon?
"That was just luck I tell you! And Tyrogue is a weakling. He needs some discipline lessons that's fer sure. This ought to finish you, Rhyhorn stomp em!" He let out a Rhyhorn, a massive heavy thing that looked like he could rip Nala apart if he wanted to. What he also was, was a Rock and Ground combination. Suddenly Liliana understood the nervousness. She had the obvious advantage here. Now if only she could keep him from hitting Nala and still finish him off. That was her only hope at the moment.
"Nala, use Razor Leaf!" The sharp leaves that were flung at Rhyhorn all hit him. He might be powerful, but he was also very slow due to his heavy body. He wasn't able to dodge the tiny leaves that hit him and he seemed to be in true pain as each and every one of them slashed at his armoured body. He let out a cry of pain before running toward them in a frenzy. He had not foreseen the paper on the floor however and before he could reach them he slipped and fell on the floor.
"Come on Nala! You can do this! Fire one massive Razor Leaf!" She did as I asked and I watched a good 10 leaves fling his way as he started to get up. The all hit him in the upper body and head and he fell down again. Type advantage, don't you just love it? The thump of his chin against the floor made the floor shake. Slowly, under the constant swearing of his master, he got to his feet and launched the requested Horn Attack, but Nala was faster. Once again Liliana asked her to perform a Razor Leaf like she's never done before and this time 11 leaves flung his way and hit him. Once again he went down, but came up again.
Does that thing never give up? "Nala, keep it going, don't let him get up and hit you!" She fired another great Razor Leaf and once again the beast thumped to the floor and got up. Suddenly it seemed like Nala had an idea. The buds around her neck and the leaf on her head turned a bit purple. She jumped onto the rhino's back and shook her entire body, releasing a purple powder. As soon as Rhyhorn breathed in all of the powder disappeared into his nose and his expression turned into a painful one. He once again fell to the ground and his face was full of pain. This time he did not get up.
"Rhyhorn you useless thing! Come back!" The Rhyhorn was engulfed into a white sheen as it retreated into the red and white little ball. The man wasn't huffing anymore, or snorting for that matter. This time he was looking at her with a particularly mad expression. The vein in his head stood out as he flexed his arms and walked toward her, once again towering over her.
"My momma taught me to keep to my word, but I swear to god, if she hadn't...." He looked at her threateningly before leaving the building. He snapped his fingers and the two idiots from a little before somersaulted out of the bushes to join him as he crankily walked out of their view. Liliana turned to the Mayor, who shakily crawled from behind the torn desk.
"Uhm, I'm sorry for destroying your office. We shouldn't have battles in here," Liliana smiled apologetically as she cradled Nala, who had almost immediately fallen asleep from exhaustion. The elder man smiled at her," Don't you worry about that, dear, worry instead on what would have happened if this delightful little creature hadn't been so brave." He winked as he went to retrieve something from the drawer of the right half of his desk.
"Thank you for protecting me, and this city. All the people here owe you something and out of their name I offer you this," he handed her a gift...
Ever since his battle with the kid on Route 29, Kenneth had been in a run towards Cherrygrove. He was in a hurry and there was no time to stop and enjoy the scenery. He kept Lily's pokeball in his hand, where she did her best to get as much rest as she could. By the way the colors of the trees were changing as he went on he could tell that he wasn't far off from the city. He passed a through a flower field, catching a few petals with his feet and ripping them off and up into the air. It wasn't intentional, but he wanted to get to the pokemon center as fast as he could.
He soon found himself on a dirt road and just in the distance he could see the arch of the entrance into town. Beyond that he would just make out a few buildings. The wind was blowing, causing the pink leaves from the trees that lined the path, to dance about in the air. However, he was not so concentrated on getting to the pokemon center that he didn't notice, nor did he see the two men by the entrance.
He started to speed up, knowing that he was closer. Just as he took a step into the city he was jerked back and thrown onto the ground, quite roughly. His face scrunched up in anger as he jumped back to his feet, finally seeing the two men who guarded the entrance.
"Hey! What's wrong with you?" It was more of a demand rather than a question. The two men laughed, seemingly unafraid of the enraged teen.
"Aww, what's wrong little guy? Did you get a booboo when you fell?" He laughed, but the other man, who had finally got control of himself, approached Kenneth with a large smile. "There isn't anything wrong with us, kid. We guard this here city and to get in you've gotta pay the fee."
That didn't make Kenneth feel any better. However, a bit calmer, he smirked and dusted himself off. "Really, well for some reason I don't believe you." The man scowled and grabbed Kenneth by the collar of his shirt, bring their faces close. "And why is that?" The man asked, rather harsh.
"Well for one," Kenneth pushed the man's hand away and took a few steps back. "You guys weren't here when I left for New Bark this morning." He looked down at his pokeball; Lily was still in her same bad condition. 'If she was well I could use her to get rid of these guys. I'll just have to find a way around them.'
The other man had finally stopped laughing over his joke and joined the other in staring at the kid. "So, what? You're still not getting in here without giving us all your money and pokemon." Kenneth cringed a bit. And looked back at his pokeball and saw that Lily was somehow standing inside with a determined look on her face.
"Alright, you want a fee. Then how about a swift kick to the butt?!" He clicked the button on his pokeball and threw it into the air while jumping back. In a flash of light Lily appeared, looking ready for battle.
"If that's the way you want to roll, then I'm game." He tossed out a pokeball and Riolu appeared. Kenneth cocked his head to the side, looking at the new pokemon in confusion. He then grabbed his pokedex and pointed it at Riolu.
Riolu, the Emanation Pokemon. It has the peculiar power of being able to see emotions such as joy and rage in the form of waves.
"A pokemon from Sinnoh? That's interesting." He looked over at Lily. She was still pretty bruised and tired, but Kenneth knew that they had no other choice.
"Ok, Lily use Bubble and make sure to keep your distance."
"Riolu, Endure and Quick Attack!" Riolu nodded and braced itself for the attack. It took the bubbles head on and quickly dashed at Lily was amazing speed. "Lily, use bubble on the ground below you." Lily nodded, following the command. She took a big breath and shot the bubbles at her feet. Without a warning she was sent up in to the air just as the Riolu attack and found itself under a rain of bubbles.
"Riolu, endure and quick attack while that poliwag is still in the air!" In the midst of the bubbles, Riolu braced itself again, but still took the full force of the attack. Then, using the same speed from before he jumped into the air at Lily.
"Lily, you tail! Then bubble again!" Lily brought her tail to block the attack like she had done against the sentret, but before she could release the bubble she was hit in the back.
"Riolu, foresight and finish this with quick attack." Riolu's eyes glowed a bit and charged directly at Lily ready to finish the battle.
"Bubble! Give it everything you've got!" Another burst of bubbles was release from Lily again hitting Riolu head on. To their advantage it didn't have endure this time and it was the one who got finished.
"It's not over yet! Sam get him!" The other man fumed, hearing his name called and balled his fist. "How many times do I have to tell you to not SAY MY NAME?" He pushed his partner out of the way and released a Croagunk.
"Another Sinnoh pokemon?" Kenneth bit his lip; he was starting to get desperate as Lily got more and more tired. 'I've got to finish this as quickly as possible for Lily's sake.'
Croagunk, the Toxic Mouth Pokemon. It rarely fights fairly, but that is strictly to ensure survival. It is popular as a mascot.
"Lily be on your guard and keep your distance. This guy's gonna be tricky."
"Croagunk, this'll be easy. Just start out with astonish and finish up with poison sting!" Kenneth was surprised at how calm the man was, unlike the other. He also felt insulted at how he also planned to finish Lily off so quickly.
Croagunk opened his mouth, letting out a bone-chilling scream. Lily winced and then shook her head, trying to stay focus. When her eyes focused back on her opponent she saw purple darts speeding towards her. With no instruction need from Kenneth she dodged to the side.
Kenneth could only watch as he tried to think of a plan to win. His heart was beating fast now and his thinking wasn't so clear. No matter the scenario it always ended up with Lily fainting. The whole time he didn't notice that his pokedex was blinking. That was until he decided to look at it again to find any helpful information against Croagunk. "What's this?"
Lily has learned Hypnosis.
Kenneth blinked as he started at the screen for a while and slowly a large grin played itself upon his face. 'Perfect. If Croagunks play dirty then we can too!' He looked back at the battle to see that Lily was doing well, evading Croagunk's attacks.
"This is taking too long. Croagunk, use taunt and slow her down with a mudslap. After that, finish her off with your strongest poison sting."
"Sorry not today! Lily, Hypnosis!" Lily jumped a bit closer to Croagunk and the spirals on her belly started to glow as Croagunk started to use taunt. Its eyes caught the sight of Lily's belly and he started to become drowsy. Within a few seconds he was sitting back snoring.
"What, why you little…"
"And wrap things up with Bubble!" Lily took a deep breath and shot the bubbles. They crashed into the Croagunk, sending him onto his back.
"Don't stop now. Give it everything you've got left! If you don't we're done for!!!" More bubbles shot forward from Lily's mouth, raining down on Croagunk without mercy. The man sighed and shook his head, recalling Croagunk in the middle of the attack. Then he and his buddy quickly ran away from Kenneth, shamed at their defeat.
"Whew, it's finally over. Good job Lily, now return." Once she was back into her ball, Kenneth continued his way to the pokemon center to get her healed. 'Man, battle after battle after battle. I didn't think being a trainer would be so tough. I can see now that I've really got my work cut out for me here.' He looked back at the entrance. 'And those crooks who were trying to steal people's money and pokemon. They might be back. I think I'll go tell the Mayor about this when I'm done at the Pokemon Center.'
Once he reached the Center, Nurse Joy quickly took care of Lily. When he told her what happened she told him that some other trainers had also ran into a strange duo at the town's entrance. After Lily was healed Kenneth began to make his way to the Mayor's office. It seemed deserted, but the door was cracked.
Curiosity killed the cat yet again as Kenneth crept up to the door and took a peek inside. Inside he saw two men talking. One he recognized to be the Mayor, but he didn't know the other guy.
OK Everyone I am back lol!
After a few minutes of R&R between the two Cairne and Baron were read to continue on with their journey. As the partners approached Cherrygrove city they couldn't help but notice the two shady men sitting by the towns entrance smiling mischievously. As he began walking into the entrance of the town he felt the hair on his neck sand on end and just when he thought he was in the clear one of the two masked men called him out.
"Hey, boy! Where do you think your going? Can't you see that we are the toll takers of this town?" The larger of the two men said and the small one let out a chuckle.
"What are you talking about? There's not toll for walking into a town you idiot." Cairne said bluntly and Baron followed up with a congested sounding NUUUMB. The bigger man frowned and but his smaller friend continued chuckling. The bigger man slapped him upside the head to shut him up.
"I'd watch what I said if I were you kid.... We're wanted criminals! Now turn over your cash and your Pokemon before we make you!" The smaller of the two puleld out a ball and let out another small annoying chuckle.
"Well, if I were you I would start brushing my teeth." Cairne said with a cocky grin. The vein on the highwaymans head began swelling and his smaller friend laughed out loud. He recieved another smack to the head.
"Take him down now." The bigger man said to his smaller friend who tossed his ball out on the ground.
Cairne pulled out his pokedex and aimed it at the small mans Pokemon.
Riolu
The Emanation Pokemon
It has the peculiar power of being able to see emotions such as joy and rage in the form of waves.
"We can take him Baron! Use Ember!" He yelled at his Pokemon who shot balls of fire at Riolu and its knocked him to the ground.
"Hehe, get up Riolu! Use Quick Attack!" Riolu nodded seriously and executed his masters order without hesitation. He dissapeared from sight and there was a flash of blue right above Barons head knocking his face into the sand.
"Gar! Baron get out of the sand and use Tackle!" Baron pulled his head up and rushed into Riolu at full speed Riolu took the hit hard.
"Counter now kehehe." The annoying little man squealed and his Pokemon landed on its feet spun around and punched Baron in the jaw. Numel just turned its head back, seemingly he didnt care all that much.
"Finish it now with Ember!" Baron spat fire at the enemy who put its arms up trying to protect itself.
"Endure! Fuhuhuhu!" The man laughed nervously and his Pokemon gave off a shiny luster and seemed to stop taking damage at its weakest possible point.
"Keep on using ember Baron! His Riolu can't hold out that endure much longer!" Cairne was right and Riolu fell to the ground completely exhausted and burned.
"Darnit you moron!" The bigger man said slapping the smaller one in the head for the third time. "Lets show him how its really done Croagunk!" Out of the bigger mans Pokemon ball came a toad-like Pokemon who was standing on two feet.
Croagunk
Toxic Mouth Pokemon
Inflating its poison sacs, it makes an eerie blubbering sound for intimidation.
The two Pokemon seemed to have a staring contest, looking eachother deep in the eyes.
"Uhh... Baron.. Use tackle." Cairne said and Baron proceded to ram into Croagunk.
"Croagunk use your Poison sting!" The Toad opened its mouth and released some purple stingers into Barons face. The attack had no effect what so ever and Baron just shrugged it off and tackled Croagunk again.
"Now finish it off with Ember!" Cairne yelled and just as his Pokemon opened up its mouth the other trainer yelled out a command.
"Mudslap now!" He yelled and Croagunk tossed a wad of muck into Barons face preventing him from using his next attack and blinding him. Baron shook his head back and forth and right as he got the mud off of his eyes the other trainer yelled out a second command, "Astonish now!" Croagunk made a terrifying face and loud sound at Baron who in surprise fell back into his head.
"Get up quickly Baron!" Cairne said worried.
"Rub the salt into the wound Croagunk, use your taunt!" Croagunk let out a deep croak and held up his hand to make a very innapropriate hand gesture.
"Did you teach him that?" Cairne said laughing a little, "Baron use your tackle and then Ember!" Baron had finally gotten to his feet and charged at Croagunk knocking him back to the ground and then shot flames directly into his face. Croagunk when numb and his trainer looked completely frustrated.
"You wont get away with this kid!" He yelled as him and his little friend jumped off into the bushes.
"What a bunch of freaks!" Cairne said to baron who nodded in agreement and followed up with a good strong NUUUUUMB NUM!
--------------------------------------------
After Cairne left the Pokemon Center with Baron at his side he decided he should tell the mayor what was going on. When he got to the mayors house he saw two men inside and hear loud yelling. He leaned his head up against the door......
Sumner: Awesome post! Baron grew to level 11! Numel Learned Magnitude! Now do the final post and your all caught up!
Peeking into the room, Kenneth barely made out the figures of the Mayor and the other guy. From the little he could see, Kenneth could tell that the Mayor was in trouble from the fear in his eyes and how bad he was shaking.
"Now Mr.Mayor, wouldn't it be nice if you paid us to protect this small town here from invaders and such instead of calling us common thieves? I mean you wouldn't want the town to get a reputation for being home to a bunch of thieves would you?"
Kenneth bit his lip and balled his hand into a fist. 'So I was right in thinking that those two at the entrance were thieves. But why would they want to terrorize this town. There's not much here and very few people. There's nothing they could really profit from here.' He shook his head, clearing his thoughts and placed his ear against the door to hear more.
"I mean right now we are just thieves... We could also end up being murderers if you don't pay me for your own protection."
"No.. Please..." From the sound of it, something bad was about the happen. Kenneth slid his foot closer to the door and started to push it open just a bit more to get a good look.
"Make your choice now!"
"Poli?" Kenneth jumped, started by Lily and fell into the room. He crashed into the ground face-first and his leg twitched. The man who was holding the Mayor hostage with his knife turned it on Kenneth, who backed up against the wall.
"Who the hell are you?" It was easy to tell that he wasn't happy.
"Who me? I'm just a sweet young teenager who just happens to crash in on things." He smiled and rubbed the back of his head. Then he took a good look at the man. "You know, you need to learn how to smile." He walked up of the older man and used his index fingers to make a smile on his face.
"See, now you aught to feel much better and maybe th e ladies will come on to you know." His reply was a knife swiping at his own face. Luckily he jumped back in time, narrowly dodging it. "Hey hey, we're all…hmm never mind that, but there's no need to go swing a knife everywhere." Kenneth glanced over at Lily and back at the man. "Catch my drift."
The man laughed and pulled out a pokeball of his own. "You may be right; there are better ways of settling this. Just remember, you asked for it kid and if you lose, the poliwag is mine!" Kenneth nodded as Lily jumped in front of him as a Nidoran M appeared in a flash of light. Kenneth smirked, not bothering to pull out his pokedex.
"You move, Sir."
"You'll regret that. Nidoran let's finish this quick. Start with leer!" Lily flinched and started to back up a little intimidated. "Now focus energy!" Kenneth saw exactly was the man was doing and quickly ordered Lily to use bubble. The bubbles races forward and crashed into Nidoran before he could use focus energy.
"Peck!"
"Dodge, then use bubble again." Nidoran faced forward and his mouth glowed white. Lily braced herself, watching closely and as soon as Nidoran lunged at her she jumped to the left and shot a quick bubble attack into its side. The Nidoran crashed into the wall and fainted.
'That was too easy. I guess it must have been a low level.' There was another flash of light and this time a humanoid like pokemon appeared. Kenneth recognized the pokemon to be Tyrogue, a fighting type.
"Fake out!" Tyrogue nodded and rushed forward and successfully slapped Lily in the face. She fell back. "Bubble!" She tried to stand, but she flinched and fell back to the ground.
"Tackle." Tyrogue rushed again and shoved his shoulder into Lily and drove her back a bit. She rolled, hitting the wall, but quickly jumped back to her feet. "Tackle again, harder this time!"
Tyrogue rushed and Lily waited for her trainer to give her a command. She it didn't come she began to worry and braced herself for the attack. "Lily, drop to the ground." Without hesitation she lowered her body just as Tyrogue was about to crash into her. Not expecting the sudden movement, Tyrogue missed and tripped over her body.
"Now bubble!" She spun taking a deep breath and released a crushing bubble attack that finished Tyrogue off.
"Ha, I'll give you some credit, you're a tough little kid, but now the games are over. Go, Rhyhorn! Scary face!"
Not even wasting a second, the Rhyhorn immediately used the attack once it was out of its pokeball. Lily froze, frighten and Rhyhorn charged at it. "Horn Attack." Rhyhorn lowered his head and as soon as he was close enough he exploded forward and drove Lily into a wall with its horn.
'This isn't good. Not one bit. As strong as that Rhyhorn is, a few more attack could but her out. I've got to think of something.'
"Tail whip, then follow up with stomp!" Rhyhorn turned around and began to wag it's short tail back and forth. Lily, who was just now recovering from scary face and horn attack was caught in awe by it and lowered her defenses 'Now this is really bad. She doesn't even have a chance to attack. Unless…'
"It's over. Finish it now, Rhyhorn."
"Hypnosis!" The spiral on Lily's stomach glowed again and gave off unusual waves. Rhyhorn was caught before it could do anything and began to shake its head to rid itself of the drowsiness. It continued to do so until it just collapsed on the ground in a deep sleep.
"Now Bubble!" Lily pelted the sleeping Rhyhorn with a number of bubbles but before she could finish it up Rhyhorn was called.
Kenneth smiled weakly and rushed over to Lily. However, he bumped into the goon first and was taken up by his collar. He almost gasped as he felt cold steel against his neck. "You know, I should just kill you now and be done with it." Kenneth's eyes widen in the thought of actually dying. "But I'm a man of my word and that's something I honor so consider yourself lucky." He laughed and sheathed the small blade.
"Boys! We're leaving!" With that he turned and left. Outside Kenneth could make out two figures rushing behind him from the bushes. Kenneth sighed and rubbed is neck as he turned to come face to face with the Mayor. He jumped back a little bit, shocked to have been so close.
"Oh Heaven's glory thank you so very much. If you hadn't shown up when you did….I..I don't know what would have happened to me." Kenneth shook his head taking deep breaths as he tried to calm down from all the day's excitement. 'I never thought that being a trainer would be like this.' He looked out the window. 'But the day's going to be over soon and hopefully I can get some rest.'
Kenneth has been so caught up in his own thinking that he barely heard what the Mayor had said since he thanked him. But he knew one thing for sure: the Mayor already knew about the bandits. 'Just like Prof. Elm knew about those guys in white who attacked us at the lab. Man, my journey's only just begun and I'm already caught in some things.'
"As part of my thanks I would like you to have this!" Kenneth looked over at the Mayor who was holding…
