In the Johto Games, there were these five girls in the Ecruteak City dance Theater known as the Kimono Girls. When you battle them, they will all have one of the five Eevee Evolutions at the time. They served no purpose in the original games, other than to be NPCs you could battle optionally. In HG/SS, however their role was greatly expanded upon, and the Kimono Girls were made important to the story. The player now helps them throughout their journey in the Johto Region, and their role in the story ends once they summon the legendary Pokemon on whichever game you're playing. Their battle is also mandatory in these games to move on with the story, and you have to battle them all in a row.
Also, here's a fun fact! Did you know that the Kimono Girl's names were changed in the English version to different Japanese names? Weird, right?
That being said, what did you think of the Kimono Girls? What did you think of their role being expanded upon in the remakes? I honestly thought their role being expanded was pretty neat. It was also weird to me that the English games just... gave them different Japanese names, lmfao, why did they feel the need to do that? I've never really understood.
