Let's see. Latias is weak to dragon, ice, dark, and bug. She's also a special sweeper, so if you hit a special wall you'd have issues. You'd therefore need something that can either hit Latias' weaknesses or take out special walls. You also have to keep in mind type pairings, such as ice commonly being mixed with water.

I'd probably go with a fire/fighting type (Infernape is a GREAT physical sweeper, so I've heard). Latias can take care of dragons anyways, so Infernape would deal with dark, bug, and ice types, all of which he specializes against.

You'd run into major problems with a water/ice type or a ground type. An electric attack would take care of the water/ice, but the ground type is resistant to electricity. Plant hits both types, so maybe something like solarbeam.

Given all of these, I'd run Latias with Psychic, Dragon Pulse, Solarbeam, and Recover. Infernape would have a physical fire move, Close Combat/some other fighting move, maybe sunny day, and something along the lines of ice punch to take care of flying pokes. I think that would work well.

I think is Blaziken. Because it can help a Latis to defeat its weakness.

Infernape and Blaziken are both solid choices (in fact, as of generation 4, my friend (who is an INCREDIBLE PokéNerd (moreso than I)) recommended me to use an Infernape).

Being Fire/Fighting, they are able to counter many of the Latis' common weaknesses: Ice, Bug, and Dark. Really the only thing remaining is Ghost (The Latis can take out most Dragons themselves). Well, if you dont want to waste a moveslot on your Lati, Shadow Claw (TM65 is always a viable choice for either Infernape or Blaziken).

The choice between Blaziken and Infernape is up to battle style, I guess. Blaziken hits harder (both in SP.ATK and ATK), but Infernape is a lot faster.

I personally prefer speed over strength any day, so I go with Infernape desu~! ^_^; Also, Blaziken/Infernape are better suited to stay alongside Latias, because those hard hitters complement her defensive battling style.

Like I said before, Skarmory is also a decent choice; good for Latios. If you EV up his SP.DEF, he can take ice attacks better as well, and he can take out bugs without breaking much of a sweat. All thats left is dark and ghost, which he is well-resistant to. With a good Annoyer/Wall moveset, Skarmory can hold his own in battle, chipping away the opponents' hp, while Latios moves in for the kill. (Figuratively speaking pplz! xD)

I was sort of wondering. Plusle and Minun get a powerup being on the field together. Since Latias and Latios are siblings and they care strongly for each other as a family, shouldn't they get a boost, too? So in that vein, I'd make so bold as to postulate a heightened efficacy of the simultaneous employment of both in tandem!

E-hem, I feel kinda awkward asking this, but what is "desu"? :)

Truer words have never been spoken! :] They need a unique "Lati" ability that gives them Levitate, and the Plus and Minus that those two have, that would be cool! Otherwise, Plus and Minus would take up space for their much coveted Levitate ability.

It would give more incentive to use them together if they had that ability, 'cause otherwise, its pretty much suicide to use them together unless, like I said before, you specifically raised them to battle together.

As for desu~? Dont worry about that, Ive explained it so many times now ... just pretend it doesnt exist in the sentence! ^_^

I must disagree with you there an ability that gives the Lati's both the Levitate effect and the effects of Plus and Minus would surely make them too powerful.

Just my personal opinion.

(Btw, i had to look up my olde japanese book, to do the first bit. :D )

... I pick... I don't know D: I don't do much competitive battling, so I don't concentrate on that stuff.

Of course! Being Lati lovers, I'm pretty sure we'd all like that to happen!
 
Both in 1 episode? That would be pretty awesome, actually. I can imagine it.
 
I think they did, actually. Google time...

Didn't find anything, strangely. I've heard that the Latis are in an episode somewhere, but nothing showed up. This requires more research.
