    Hi there!

The poll should make it pretty obvious, but I'm in a bit of a conundrum here. I recently bought a new television with an option to change the brightness (Yes, my old one was VERY old.), and I was wondering which Resident Evil game would be more worth my money. I intend to buy both of them at some point, but I recently found out my wisdom teeth need taken out so I'm trying to conserve money for a bit.*

I've heard good things about both 4 and Revelations, but I still can't decide.

*The television was like three bucks at Goodwill.

I found out two years ago that I need my wisdom teeth removed "right now." Still haven't done it.

Buy both games and live with the migraines.

    ...No? Fine, fine. =p
As long as you're not getting the Gamecube version, I'd go with 4. It was one of my favorite RE titles, right up there with RE0 and Code: Veronica. It was great enough that I'm considering grabbing it for PC, and I already have the GC and PS2 versions. That in itself should speak volumes.
Besides, Revelations takes place between 4 and 5, it's only right to play 4 first even if they barely reference, mention, or relate to the other games.

Neither. Get the remake of the first Resident Evil. Simply called Resident Evil for GC, or the Wii version is called Resident Evil Archives. 4 is good of course, but the dark atmosphere of the first one can't be beaten, especially in the remake.

This. Don't bother with 4 or Revelations before you've played the actual, real RE games, aka the ones from Zero to Three. RE4 is just your average shooter; if you want suspense and survival, you gotta look to the older titles.

You should not listen to anyone who says RE4 is just an average shooter and it's not a "real" RE game because that's total bullcrap.

RE Revelations is decent, but RE4 is one of the best games of all time and that is the general consensus. I'm surprised there a few that are unaware of the game's brilliance. Regardless OP it's a no brainer, get RE4. Get two copies if you have to.
