"How is it you keep beating me?" I said to the small robot, I had only won 3 out of 14 games against him. He simply looked up at me, and I could tell that if he had a face, he would have a HUGE grin on it. "Man...I have to get you out of my head...oh well, I got this note from someone yesterday, they said they wanted a battle...now where did I...awww, come on!" I said angrilly, taking the note from him and opening it. "You always have to know where i leave things...it takes all the fun out of losing them....anyway, we have a battle today at five o'clock in town....and he says if we win he's gonna tell us some information we might be able to use!" I exclaimed, Shade jumping up exitedly and punching the air.

"Err, guys, which stop do we get down? It's hurting in this bus!" Haruhi pointed out after a long silence. She could see Sagi was rather comfortable, and so was she.

Haruhi's lovely, blone hair swished as the bus jerked clumsily to the side while stopping. "Geez, where does the bus driver gets his license?!" She commented sacarsticlly to her newly-found buddies.

"Anyway, it's a bit of a relief, right, Sagi, Felix? I am not that menlancholic, so don't worry much about me, haha. As long as I have Mikoto, it's fine!"

(*)(IC)(*)

"License? What license?" Sagi frowned. "I think that's the problem."

He gave the blond-haired girl a side glance. "Well, if you say you're fine, Haruhi, then okay."

What seemed kind of silly was that he was pleading for the bus to come to a halt, not only so they could dismount it but also visit the mall, which he had long forgotten the purpose of in the first place. Something told him that this was Felix idea. Not that he was complaining; he didn't have any bright ideas himself. He couldn't help wonder what they were attempting to achieve from the visit. He thought it reasonable to assume it wasn't to purchase a new pair of shoes.

"Hey, Felix," he started, his voice a little shaky from the bus's movements. "What are we going to do at the mall again?"

I was getting bored, losing to Shade ever game, so I shut it off. Shade just looked up at me and tilted his head questioningly. "Yes, im addmitting defeat, now come on, lets go out into town for a little." I said, standing up and walking over to the door, picking up the keys to my room and walking out, Shade following behind me as I locked the door behind me. Shade looked up at me, and I could tell he knew what I was thinking, wait, what am I saying? He's in my head! Of cource he knows what I'm thinking! Shade just walked off and went down the stairs, making me run off and chase him. "You need to stop going where I'm going to go before I go there, ok?" I said, sitting the robot on my shoulder and walking outside.

Melanie, still standing started to look around to find out where Simon is seated,it seems that she is a bit oblivous to others around her, that and the fact that she is pretty shy and she didn't know what to say to the others. However, she seems to be thinking of something and decided this may be the perfect time to be with Simon seeing how the ride is a long one, perhaps something could happen?

She finally found his seat in the back and started to make her way to Simon's seat. She took a deep breath and started to slowly make her way to his seat watching where she walks. Very quiet and silent however a bit of sweat can be seen on her face, she looks a bit nervous. But when she went there all she found was him sleeping. No wonder why the bus was so quiet.

She looked down a bit disappointed and just sat down on the seat next to Simon's. As she tried to sit more into the seat she bumped into something, she quickly turned only to see that she is sitting next to Felix.

"Oh, umm... I'm sorry.." She timidly apologizes.

She looks at Felix and gives a smile, she blushes slightly and then looks back at Simon who is snoring a way. She then looks back down at her hands and puts them together.

The bus moved at a steady pace down the road. Bumpy at times, smooth at others, it trodded along like an old, tired horse strugging to stay alive until its next meal. Every few seconds, the odd bus driver would glare into his rear-view mirror, examining the passengers. His gaze was pause for a moment upon reaching a female, upon which he would scream "THAT'S HOT," or something similar.

This happened quite often, though most of the passengers didn't seem to mind. Were they used to this? How does this man manage to keep his job, anyway?

Unfortunately, Felix was not among those tho would ignore the comments. Especially not with a cute young lady sitting next to him. He smiled at her, and rose from his seat. He called out to the driver. "Will you shut up with that stupid yelling!? Focus on the road, old man!"

The driver's eyes scanned the mirror, and focused on Felix for a few moments; his jaw still appeared unhinged from the rest of his skull. "I LIKE YOUNG GIRLS," he yelled, before returning to his normal routine of driving and glancing. Felix sighed, realizing there was no getting through to him. I'll have to bring this up with his supervisor, he thought to himself. It was a mystery how someone so incompetent could keep any job. Felix shook his head, deciding to deal with the incident at a later time. For his compatriots were asking him questions.

Leaning over his seat to face Haruhi, he spoke quietly so as not to wake the sleeping riders. "Keep an eye out for the Generic Shopping Mall. That's our stop."

He then turned to Sagi. "C'mon. It hasn't been that long, has it? We're going to see Gil! You know, my buddy! Gil! The guy knows everything about everything, and he probably knows something about all the weird stuff that's been going on!"
-----------------------------------
Atop the bus, a small, black kitten softly scrapes its claws across the metal surface, letting out a quiet meow.

Haruhi grinned back reassuringly at Sagi. "He's got a drunk-driving license I bet!" She told Felix and Sagi. "Oh my gosh! We are sooo dumb!" She suddenly exclaimed and plopped herself down on the seats her friends left earlier. "Look, we could have been sitting! Tere's enough space for us!" Haruhi commented to Felix and Sagi.

Just when Felix started yelling at the driver, she decided to adjust the air-condition. "Felix, would you prefer this direction or the other direction?" She asked, adjusting Felix's too. "Sorry Sagi, I prefer cold air, and I can't really sleep without it." Haruhi was sitting in between Felix and Sagi.

It was then the driver hollered back that he likes young girls. Haruhi was really shocked, but she giggled in a cheeky manner and winked at both Felix and Sagi, implying that she has something else to say. "Not like the young girls like old men anyway!" She shouted back to the driver. "And maybe your drunkdriving license should get an upgrade to Premium, no, you can win the trophies for driving recklessly - Look out! Do you wanna bang that poor old lady?"

She was having much fun teasing him, and everybody were laughing. However, the fun soon stop as Haruhi's ears caught the soft scraping vibration, but she wasn't sure yet. No, not yet...

"Guys... Listen..." She informed the rest, but she was a bit afraid that they could not hear it, as it was super soft.

Simon suddenly jolted up screaming,

"AHHHH!!!!"

The bus driver lost focus on the road and swerved around the road. Everyone gasped and looked around frantically at Simon,

"Bad dream." He said in a sad tone.

Simon began to rub his eyes and then his nose more and more until he started to make sniffing noises. Those around him gave him strange looks to what he was doing. Simon rubed his nose faster and faster until he finally sneezed.

"ACHOO!!" He sneezed.

After that he held his grin on his face once again and laughed,

"HAHAHAHAHA!!!" He laughed in delight.

He got up from his seat and squeezed his way into the seat where everyone is sitting, squashing them into the wall of the bus.

"Make room for fanny!" He then laughed again.

"Woo! WOO!!" He yelled everytime the bus turned.

"Hey, it's a bit warm here!" Simon said as he started to look around.

He found the AC of the bus again and fiddled around with it until the knob broke off and a rush of cold air blasted into everyone face.

"HAHAHAHAHA" Simon gave an evil laugh as the air raced towards everyone shooting his hair up, his hat almost came off.

"I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bored!!" Simon told everyone.

"Wait a minute!" He suddenly said.

He went through his jacket and after a brief moment took out his camera.

"AND THE JOURNEY CONTINUES!" He shouts.

"Mel, start recording!" He says as he gives his camera to Melanie who is now sitting between him and Felix.

The camera started rolling, Mel points it at Simon.

"Hey there! Welcome to the incredible journey!" Simon laughs.

"I am on my way to claim the so-called everlasting, amazing, beautiful, provocative, Lucky Penny!" Simon explained.

He then pointed up his finger and twirled it around. No one has any clue what that meant.

He takes the camera back and faces everyone as best he could with the rush of cold air still bursting out of the broken AC.

"AND THESE ARE THE FIGHTERS OF LIGHT AND JUSTICE THAT SHALL HELP ME CLAIM THE LUCKY PENNY!" He yelled.

He awaited them to say something to the camera, he figured in his own demented mind that this would be a good way to kill some time.

The kitten's scratching intensified, and it began to claw at the bus at a furious pace. For a short time, at least. Behind it, at the rear part of the bus, a figure had suddenly materialized out of thin air.

The figure was of a short stature, roughly three feet in height. Enshrouded completely in a long, black cloak and matching hood, a shadow befell the entity's face leaving its identity a complete mystery. Though, its build was slightly feminine. Based on its physical stature, it was difficult to tell if the entity was human, or possibly an Angel. Not that it mattered; from its current position noone on the bus could see either entity atop the bus. Although, given the possibility that it was an Angel, where was its deus?

Despite the rushing wind generated by the motion of the bus, the figure's cloak did not move.

The kitten stopped its scratching, and turned to face the newcomer. It hissed, and began to slowly back away; it seemed afraid.

The black robed figure held its left arm out to the side, open palmed. The lighting of the surrounding area dimmed slightly as a white orb appeared with the figure's hand. The orb rapidly changed its shape, transmuting itself into a long blade of light.

That cat, which had been backing away from the figure until now, suddenly froze mid-step. Unable to move, nor cry out, it could do nothing but wait as the mysterious entity approached, its footsteps reverberating through the bus interior.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I wouldn't really call us 'fighters of light and justice'", said Felix with a chuckle. "Just a rag tag bunch of people with something in common, ya know? It's not like we're going to save the world or anything!"

What Felix didn't mention is that he wouldn't mind. He'd love to go on a grand adventure and do something fantastic, like saving the world from evil space monsters. Or a megalomaniacal dentist. Something worth talking about!

"Can't say I'd mind, though. That's really why I want the Penny. It's a mystery, and that means adventure!" he said excitedly.

He would have continued speaking, were it not for the sounds from above. Footsteps? What?

"Hey…does anyone else hear that?" His excitedness quickly began to fade. A chill ran down his spine.

The footsteps continued at a steady pace for a few seconds. Pat….pat….pat…pat… And suddenly they stopped. Aside from the humming of the bus's engine, nary a sound could be heard. And then a horrible screeching pierced the air. It sounded like…a cat? Yeah, definitely a cat, Felix thought to himself. A terrible sense of dread and fear ran through his mind, and the screeching continued for a few moments, followed by the sound of something splattering, followed by silence. And then burning. The sound of flame. A burning piece of black, bloody fur fell from above, rolling down the exterior window before bursting into flame and dissipating into nothingness.

Felix could do nothing but stare, open-mouthed, wondering what just happened. And as quickly as it had appeared, the unseen black robed figure once again vanished into the afternoon air.

For an unexplainable reason, none of the passengers seemed to be paying attention, and the bus driver was too busy staring at the girls on the bus to care.

Haruhi gave Felix a dangerous stare, and gazed at Simon with a weird look.

"F-felix... Did you hear that?" She whispered softly, trembling with slight fear. "All the scratching and footsteps... Could it be..." Her sweet and pious tone trailed off as she shivered with pure fear.

Haruhi did not meet the first monster cat, but she had saw what damage it could caused, and did not want to be part of its diet. Slowly, she started to shush Simon down, trying to tell him to listen carefully and shut it with his yelling and all, but she stopped.

"Simon, carry on being hyper. That will not make anthign suspicious of us, but just keep your tone down a litter, for if you do not, we can't detect which side our enemy is from..."

Simon began to laugh,

"What? Are you kidding me? What are you so scared of?" Simon asked.

He stood up from his seat.

"PROUD WARRIORS OF THE LUCKY PENNY SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF ANYTHING, THAT ANYTHING SHOULD BE AFRAID OF US!" Simon explained and pumped his chest.

He then put his hand by his ear and started to concetrate.

"I don't hear anything!" Simon told the group.

He then gave a wild laugh,

"Hahaha! NEVER FEAR! SIMON IS HERE!" Simon shouted.

He extended out his hand and went in a dramatic pose,

"YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR AS THE GREATEST DEUS IS HERE WITH THE AMAZING ANGEL, STAR!" Simon assured everyone as he took his angel out of his jacket.

"BEHOLD STAR! THE BEST ANGEL IN THE WORLD!" Simon brought his Angel higher in the air for everyone to see.

Melanie sank in her seat, it wasn't that she didn't want to be seen around Simon, just that, he was gaining a lot of attention and she is just way too shy to accept it. However, she too started to become nervous and fearful as she saw what happened the last time they were attacked at the cafeteria back at the school. She didn't want anything to bad happen to anyone, especially Simon.

She turned to see the others to how they are reacting to all of this. Just the same as her, well, she thought so at least. It seems that Haruhi, the other girl, is trying to make Simon not talk so much, however, Melanie liked it, she likes the fact that he never shuts up as it allows everyone to remember that everything is still okay, the day Simon shut's up would probably be the last day on Earth.

"-- and that is why Star doesn't really mix to well with jello. Mel, did you tape all of that?" Simon suddenly asked.

Melanie jumped, she wasn't paying attention to what Simon was talking about.

"I um, ah..." She didn't know what to say.

"GAH!!!! AND IT WOULD OF BEEN SUCH A PERFECT SCENE FOR THE MOVIE! GRAAHH!!!" Simon grabbed his head.

"Um, Um, I'm sorry.." Melanie apologized in a sad tone.

Simon laughed,

"Hahahaha! It's okay, whatever! I'm sure I'll find better things at the mall!" Simon explained.

"Mr. Know it all." Can be seen written on his shirt.

As we got outside I caught sight of a cloaked figure atop a bus, a blade of light or something like that in its hand, and something red on the roof of the bus. "What the...." I stammered, seeing the thing fallling burst into flame and dissapear into nothingness. Shade jumped down and seemed to glare at the thing on the roof before it dissapeared into thin air. ~What was that thing...~ I thought to myself, staring at where the small thing had burst into flame and dissapeared forever. Shade looked tense, well, as tense as an angel can get, afterall, they are metal. But I could tell that shade somehow knew what that thing on the rooftop was, I didn't, but maybe shade had seen it before......

Who's That?

"Simon's right guys," Sagi said with his arms crossed above his chest. "We can't let the enemy sense our fear. They'll only use it to their advantage." Even as he spoke the words, he couldn't fully control his nerves' reactions to the strange sounds and presence he had felt earlier.

But why cats? He made an observation. The beast that attacked them back in the cafeteria was a cat, and the black fur that slid down the nearby window only moments before seemed to be of feline origin too. Maybe there was more to this entire 'cat' theory than they were willing to take notice for. Sagi made a personal note to be suspicious of any further cats that he may run into in the future. One could never be too careful.

He turned his attention to the window, green eyes narrowed as they looked at the passing features. Huh? There was something, or rather someone, standing outside that didn't seem to blend in with his surroundings. The silver strands were a clear contrast to his predominately black unkempt hair. Silver hair in itself was rare for someone who looked to be a teen. Next to the boy's foot stood, what Sagi assumed to be, his Angel.

Sagi pressed his face against the window to get the best look of the puzzling lad as the bus drove out of view. Who was that? And what's he doing just … standing there? Could he be connected to the events that just took place?

Anyway, Sagi lowered himself back to his seat. "Is everybody okay?" He didn't think anybody was hurt, but it had become a habit of his to ask that question whenever something out of the ordinary happened. Then, he turned to Haruhi, specifically. "Are you okay?" And he had no clue why he just re-asked the question.

"I'm not even going to ask what that thing...was..." I said, seeing the kid look at me from the window. What was he looking at? All of a sudden I remembered why we had gone outside in the first place! The battle! "Let's go shade! were gonna be late!" I said, picking him up and running off twords the battle. Since he's directly linked into my subconscience, I could tell that he was still 'thinking' about that thing we saw on the roof, that angel that had killed something...why did it do it? Who told it to do it? There were so many questions buzzing around in my head it took me a while to realise i was practicly following the bus turn for turn, and still staying on course. Were they going to the park, or going somewhere else? Great, another wave of questions flooded my brain, today seemed to be full of questions.

"Well, it doesn't really help by being real nosiy, because that's a side of pollution as well!" Haruhi argued immediately, bothered and exhuasted. She really wanted to stand right now, because sitting in this kind of lousy, freaking bus is no better, or perhaps, even lousier than standing on the bumpy floor. Haruhi wished she had not sat in the first place, and finally decided to get up.

"Well, who cares now..." Cooling down, she carried on to take a few munches out of her pizza, chewing on them in a devouring manner. She ahd a huge appetite, and now she was very hungry again.

"Are we reaching the mall SOON?!" She soon complained, closing her eyes as she was really dead beat and annoyed without any reason. "And I am OK, why did you ask anyway? Do I look like I am about to die from a heat stroke or something?" Haruhi giggled cutely.

We continued running twords the park, running in while the bus turned away from it. "Well, that answers that question...." I muttered, running over to the small 'arena' where angel's battled. It was really just a circle of rocks on the ground, but we didn't have an actual arena, this was made in about five minutes by a bunch of kids after school. We only kept it because it had been here for over a year before we finnaly realised what it was. Me and my friend Sam that is, we've known eachother since pre-k and are the best of friends. "Dude! you made it just in time! Everyone else thought you wouldnt make it!." He yelled, already standing outside the ring. "Yea, yea, I'm here, I'm here, geeze, lighten up people." I said calmly, seeing Shade go slightly ridgid. "so, who am I fighting?" I asked Sam, afterall, I had found the letter in my locker at school, so I had no idea whatsoever who I was fighting.

Simon became a bit confused. He looked at Haruhi and then pointed at her and looked at the others, he seemed speechless. Then, he spoke,

"Pumpkin Head." He said to Haruhi, calling her by the nickname he gave her.

"Where did you get that pizza?" He asked wondering where she got her food.

Simon doesn't remember any one of them stopping anywhere for food. Or Maybe he just wasn't paying attention. Whatever, doesn't matter, Simon is still confused. He shrugged it off and listened in to what everyone else was talking about.

"AH! HAHAHAHA!" Simon suddenly laughed.

He jumped up and continued to laugh.

"PRICELESS! IN THE BATTLEFIELD THERE COULD BE LOVE AS WELL!" Simon explained.

He took out his camera and started filming Sagi and Haruhi completely ignoring the fact that he is pretty much standing on top of Felix.

"AHH!!! WHAT BLISS! WHAT DRAMA! WHAT EXCITMENT!" Simon cheered.

He then brought out his hand and reached out for a window and curled his hand out in a dramatic fashion.

"NEVER RUSH FATE, PUMPKIN HEAD! WE SHALL REACH THE MALL OF DESTINY WHEN WE REACH IT! WE MUST WAIT PATIENTLY FOR LIFE TO OPEN THE GATES OF PROPHECY, um.... AND.. ALLOW US TO ENTER IT WITH... PURE HEARTS!" Simon explained to everyone.

He then turned his hand to the bus driver and pointed to him.

"DRIVER OF FATE! LEAD US TO OUR DESTINY!!!" Simon shouts and then gives an insane laugh afterwards,

"WUAHAHAHAHA!!"

(*)(IC)(*)

"No," Sagi answered Haruhi's question, suddenly feeling embarrassed for some reason. "Nevermind. Anyway, I'm also getting tired of sitting on this bus." He muffled a yawn with the back of his gauntlet. "Any of you guys know what stop we're getting off at?"

That's when Simon spoke up with that loud mouth of his. He did raise a good point though. Where the heck did Haruhi get that pizza??? He started inspecting the girl, curious as to where exactly she hid the food. Wonder what else she's hiding from us…

Then he turned to Simon. "Hey you!" It was Sagi's turn to shout now. "Get that camera off of me!" He hated being on camera. "And don't call her pumpkin head!!!" That was something he wasn't expecting to say. He turned to Haruhi then quickly glanced away. His features became red, making him resemble, well … a tomato head. He looked outside and kept his gaze fixed on the scenery.

When the commotion finally died down a little, he stretched his arms, legs and toes. The first thing he was going to do once they got off the bus was go straight to the little boy's room. It seemed his bladder had worked up quite a stir during the long minutes of the bus ride. He couldn't say it wasn't entertaining though, with Simon's constant chatter and the driver's chauvinistic statements – thank goodness he seemed to be calming down and focusing more on the road than young girls now. He can leave the young girls to me, Sagi thought sheepishly. He was of a better age anyway.

The bus took a turn around a corner and the spiky-haired boy could make out a compound of shops in the near distance. The buildings had colourful banners across their tops, bearing the names of the store with their slogans close by. Of what Sagi could make out of the parking lot, it was jam-packed, but that was something they didn't have to worry about because the bus would probably stop at a station somewhere nearby and they'd walk from there - if this was even the right mall, Sagi thought. He could only speculate whether this was where they were going to meet Gil. He turned to the one person who would know the answer.

"Felix, is that place what we're looking for?" He asked, pointing out the shopping complex he had picked up in the distance.

"Oh, well, I brought it in from the cafe, they did serve it, did you guys notice it?" She laughed again in a hysterical manner.

Haruhi knocked her own head sheepishly and thought for a moment before opening her bag to reveal even more food, food and more food! She sweatdropped before taking out two medium-sized cookie boxes for everybody to share. Taking about 2 herself, she shoved it into her mouth, devouring it immediately.

"Err, I suppose I have some knack for finding food? Especially sweets, ice cream, PEPSI!" Haruhi added on, a hand running through her beautiful, silky hair.

"Eh?" She turned to Sagi, smiling at him with an innocent grin. "Pumpkin head sounds really bad to me, Pony will do because of my ponytail!" She told both Sagi and Simon before focusing on Sagi totally. "Well, it's really OK, you don't have to stand up for me though. I really like your kindness!"

On the bus Enna was sleeping in a tranquil matter, her eyes partially open to see my surroundings, some people were talking while she just heard "Blah blah cafe blah guys blah notice," then a haughty laugh filled the area.

Then she saw it.

The girl was taking out cookie boxes, yes they were cookies, maybe they were these super-yummy chocolate chip cookies, were they? She questioned to herself before taking a whiff off the everlasting smell. The odor you ask? It was fresh, there was chocolate, the rich and milky kind, this was it! Enna grinned, and quickly took a package of those godly cookies and began to eat them.

The taste was great, scrumptious, mouth-water, fantastic, and almost every other synonym for chocolate chip cookies, she wanted alot, and in comparison, took a package of homemade cookies devouring them just as she did in the past tense.

She remembered the girl who brought the cookies and ran up to her and said in a cute voice "Arigatou, Pony-chan!" after she ran back to her seat and looked out the window, and turned to them and smiled "I'm Ennaweaden, but you can call me Enna-chan," she turned once again to the window.
