I Disagree...In america ,IMO blocking blog websites is a Direct Violation of the 1st Amendment...as is blocking PC...Which my school did...

What really Sucks is that there is nothing I can really do about it...It would take forever to get the case to the supreme court and It could be dissmissed in a lower court fairly easy...I think that it is unfair that they block sites like that...IMO Xanga is kept fairly clean and free of inappropriate material...and PC is modded by a Elite staff handpicked from the members here. I dont think any of the staffers here got their job handed to them on a silver platter...the staff here does a pretty darn good job of keeping PC clean and they are constantly alerted to new inappropriate material when it arises by a active PC member...

It's not entirely that it's because of inappropriate material that they block a number of sites. For example, at my school, any site that has nothing to do with your work; for example games sites such as Miniclip, forums, Youtube, Myspace etc. are all blocked as they have nothing to do with your school work. We had to sign a contract of user agreement that said so, which was disappointing.
 
I remember in my last year of high school they did that and we also had to signed something like you did.

Most the students had a up rise(witch was easily taken care of-via parents).

Most did not want to becouse of the freedoms we had gotten use to. I can see that kinda of things for classes with computers but not for like the library. Though i guess becouse i really like looking up pics there in my free time lol.

You mean the websites which are on the high speed internet that the school provided to you for free that are meant for class work for the public education system.

You mean those websites?

School computers are considered Public computers...and blocking websites from Public use computers Is Censorship no matter how you slice it...Censorship is only appropriate for porn/hentai anyhow...

Yup...Always has a point to add in. Well, only popular to the Asians...all the Aussies never talk about it that much. The Aussies mainly talk about their mobiles. XD It was so funny today, at the excursion, like, these two girls were fiddling with their mobiles and they tried to hide it from the teacher, and then she walked over. This, of course, led to the students putting their mobiles in uncomfortable places. Then, the teacher told us, get back to the bus by 2:00, and they said, how're we meant to get back to the bus then? And the teacher replied exactly. The teachers really didn't want those students back on the bus..

Yes, that's me. You should know that by now.

Mobiles? Students shouldn't be having their mobiles out in umm.. class.
Uncomfortable places? Oh....
 
Mobiles are so totally banned in school, the risk factor makes them want to bring them and use them even more. XD

Teenagers, especially males like to take risks as was shown in that survey that we studied at school in Health, which can lead to umm.. devastating results.

Mobile phones aren't banned at many schools I know, as they are a handy form of communication. But they are banned during class definetly as they cause too much distraction.
 
It's full bannage all over our school. As soon as each student gets out of school they grab their mobile..XD It isn't handy according to our teachers.

Ahhg, Tell me about it, I hate my school, I was searching one site, that had jokes, I was on it for like 10mins, then bam, it was banned, I think they are watching me o.O

That's probably because your school server works on a word list as well. If specific words pop up on that page, you get banned. That happens at my school too.
 
Surprisingly, not that many sites are blocked on my school server. I've been able to visit PC and other similar sites on a regular basis for the past few years or so while at school.

You're one of the luckier ones then. I could get around the school system I suppose... but I'd get banned automatically for ages if I did and that wouldn't be too good.

Btw, anyone else seen Pirates of the Carribean 3 yet? I saw it just 2-3 hours ago and really enjoyed it.

I haven't and don't intend to.. Pirate movies don't interest me. Pirates have always seemed not that appealing to me. Anything about mermaids would interest me...though, they don't exist.......Or dolphin movies would be good too, when it comes to the sea.
 
I use the internet to look up things for school reports and to practice my C++ programs for school.

Nope. I saw the first one and really enjoyed it, in fact I own the DVD. I heard some bad things about the 2nd one and havn't been following the series since. I'll probably end up renting 2 & 3 when they are both out on DVD so I can watch them back to back. ^-^
 
I'm gonna see it tomorrow (hopefully), it's one of the few movie series I try to keep up on.
