Yesterday I manage to defeat Winona, travel to Lilycove, and begin the Team Magma/Aqua endgame stories. This morning, I spent a bit if time training and managed to get lucky and defeat Tate and Liza in a very close match. I saved after clearing Team Magma out of the Mossdeep Space Center and getting Dive.

So I've already finished the game! After getting Dive, I spent some time traveling around and collecting some TM's to update my team's movesets. I then went ahead to the Seafloor Cavern and then Sootopolis to proceed with the endgame. After I defeated Team Magma and Aqua for good, and then visiting Rayquaza at Sky Pillar to calm Groudon and Kyogre, I was able to take on Juan. After defeating Juan, I traveled to Ever Grande City and traveled through Victory Road, defeating Wally along the way. I didn't spend much time leveling up my team before deciding to give the Elite 4 a try. Sidney and Phoebe weren't too difficult because I was able to exploit their weaknesses. Glacia was more difficult, and I think I got pretty lucky defeating her. Drake was a pretty easy defeat, considering nearly his entire team has a 4x weakness to Ice Beam. Wallace was a bit more difficult, but after a long battle I eventually prevailed. My entire team proved to be helpful in their own way. Dustox was very good at using Toxic then stalling because of its nice special defense. Swalot and Seviper's versatility proved to be very useful, and Vileplume's strong attacks were very helpful especially with Wallace.

  • Leaf Green Normal Monotype #1

So I started the game, went through all the boring opening stuff, and began my challenge. I picked Bulbasaur as my starter, but that doesn't matter as I boxed it as soon as I caught a Spearow. Then I caught a Pidgey and Rattata for backup. After a LONG time grinding in Viridian Forest, both Spearow and Pidgey evolved. Brock wasn't really difficult with two evolved Pokemon.

EDIT: Emulator crashed, lost my save. I'll start over.

    Leaf Green Normal Monotype #2

After I lost my save file, I reset the game, caught another Spearow and grinded until I could defeat Brock. I didn't use a Pidgey or Rattata this time, though. Shortly after, I caught a male Jigglypuff (hooray!) before Mt. Moon, which I trained while going through the cave. Inside the cave I caught a Clefairy and made it to Cerulean City. After defeating the Nugget Bridge trainers, I made my way to Bill's cottage, then challenged the gym. Misty herself wasn't difficult. I used to opportunity to train my Clefairy, and Jigglypuff KOd both her Pokemon.

Finally, here is an update for my Flying monotype on Diamond! My last update (which is in the old thread) left off after defeating Fantina. So since then, I've traveled to Canalave and Snowpoint, where I defeated Byron and Candice, respectively. Byron wasn't too difficult thanks to Staraptor's Close Combat, and Candice was simple since three-fourths of her team is weak to Flying. Before saving, I went ahead and flew to Vielstone and got the Dusk Stone to evolve Murkrow into Honchkrow!

Finished Kanto. Spent the day blazing through the gym leaders. Koga was the only one that really gave me any problems, mainly due to Toxic. The Elite Four were super difficult. Lorelei was surprisingly the hardest of the four. Once I defeated her after grinding forever, the rest were fairly easy. Except Lance. He was not fun. I defeated him with 2 CH Blizzards. And my rival after that was pretty easy.

Well, I just defeated Cynthia in my Flying ultimate! Since my last update, I defeated Team Galactic and Dialga and traveled to Sunyshore city where I defeated Volkner. He wasn't too difficult because he only had two electric types on his team.. After that, I traveled north and through Victory Road to the Pokemon League. I then defeated my rival before taking on Aaron, Bertha, Flint, and Lucian. Of the four, Lucian was the easiest thanks to Honchkrow and the other three were all about equal in difficulty. For Cynthia, her Miloctic posed a bit of a problem, defeating most of my team before succumbing to Staraptor's Return. The rest of her team fell pretty easily until Garchomp. Luckily, it could only use Dragon Rush against Drifblim due to type immunities, so with some carefully timed switching and healing, I was able to whittle down its HP with Staraptor. Luckily, Cynthia used Giga Impact to defeat my Staraptor which left Garchomp recharging while Drifblim was able to come in and defeat it.

Now that I'm finished with that challenge, which I started many moths ago, I'll go ahead and work on completing my Flying run in Black 2!

Staraptor / lv64 / Close Combat, Return, Brave Bird, Aerial Ace

I've gotten 3 badges now, and made it to Route 112, where I caught a Numel. Finally a second fire Pokemon I can use! I will probably get a few more badges today and fill out my party some.

So far, I have: Combusken and Numel.

So we can only apply for the new Ultimate Challenge and not for the "oldschool" Gen V challenge? I have a 3DS and a copy of X, but I don't want to sacrifice all of my progress :/
