The Multi-Gen Fish Challenge

Hey guys~ It's about time I made a challenge for my sections instead of that dirty old DPPt section. So you're probably wondering what kind of challenge this is, right? The one that will really test you? It's the fish challenge. That's right. You go through a game from each generation using ONLY fish Pokemon. Oh, and did I mention that you can't evolve them? That's right. Fishy fishy. Here's the rules:

- You must play through one game from each generation.
- ROMs are allowed.
- Hacking is not. It's not hard to get an Old/Good/Super Rod and fish for...well, fish.
- Everything must be caught in a Pokeball.
- No legendaries must be caught; they must all be defeated, excluding cheat legendaries (like Mew in RBY).
- RBY/FRLG challenge ends after defeating the legendary birds and Mewtwo (and the roaming dog if you're playing FRLG).
- GSC challenge ends after defeating the dogs, Lugia, and Ho-oh. HGSS (as if y'all would use it) ends after defeating that big buttload of legendaries.
- RSE challenge ends after defeating Kyogre and/or Groundon, Rayquaza, the Regis, and Lati@s. After you beat the Pokemon League, you're allowed to evolve your Wailmer.
- DPPt challenge ends after defeating the Lake Trio, Regigigas, Giratina, Palkia/Dialga, Heatran, Cresselia, Regi trio (if you have them in there...don't remember the event).

Just remember that you can't evolve them. ;) I've already started on my Red version and bought the Magikarp from the guy, but I gotta keep Charmander with me for a little while since I need to raise Magikarp til he gets Tackle. o3o Then Charmander will probably become an HM slave. I leveled the poor guy up a little bit, though.

...and here I was about to point out a huge oversight in this challenge. Wouldn't you need a Wailord to activate the Regi trio event in RSE? Thus you'd have to evolve your Wailmer and ruin the challenge. XD

Btw, I just got out of Mt. Moon. I'm seriously doing this challenge.

Aww, I was going to do that. Imagine actually playing through this in a game - starting over and losing your prized Pokemon. But with that killer Magikarp of yours, it is tempting. Anyway, good prank - it makes me want to come up with something for Pokemon General now although I can't seem to think of anything at the moment.

I will certainly try this one out later for some Magikarp appreciation, but first I have a question: In RBY, there is the good old ghost tower, at a point at which Magikarp will be your only Pokemon and Tackle your only attacking move. Did Struggle already affect ghosts at that time? Because if not that might be a problem.
