The Nightclub [Third Significant Incarnation]

Location: Nightclub. Table.

"Crazy people," Tara commented to herself as she sipped her Red Tea with Peaches. She decided that it would be wise to go to a table that was plenty far from the fight and simply enjoy her tea there. Her tea was much more enjoyable than a fight, anyways. She took another sip, embracing the flavor of it. It took her a while to actually start drinking the tea because it was hot, and she can't take hot drinks too well.

"Maybe I should ask for Iced Tea next time."

"Actually," Konato started, "I am kinda...lost. One moment, I am in a forest chasing a Hol- er, demon, if you will, and the next, BOOM! I am here! Would you happen to know where 'here' is?"

Aoi grunted. This man was on his list. He was going to watch him until he knew everything.
He sat down at the bar. "Oh fine..." He looked at the man in the robes. "So you're telling us you chase Demons... That's a load of crap." Aoi looked down at his unfinished protein shake. "I assume I can't kill here. Crap." He mumbled.

Marcy again focused on the small girl. "No worries, Sammy. You know, you could work here if you want. It's three meals a day plus room and board, or $20 an hour. Whichever deal you choose. And helping me out would be more than worth the price of a chair."

"...Would you happen to know where 'here' is?"

Marcy overheard the new man's partial explanation. "Here would be The Nightclub. It's kind of a tavern-y sort of place. I guess you came in through the portal. It's broken, so it appears somewhere different every three minutes. Some people come through and end up in the basement, like you and Aoi."

Konato relaxed a little. He could tell that for the moment, he was safe. He sat down a couple seats from Aoi. "If it all checks out?" He sighed. "Damn, this'll be hard. How do I put this..." Konato tapped his fingers repeatedly on the bar. He struggled for a while to form what he wanted to say. He finally decided on "Do you believe in the afterlife?"

"Some people come through and end up in the basement, like you and Aoi."

"Wait, so I can't go back?!" Konato laid his forehead in his palm for a minuute before saying, "Well, there's gotta be a way..."

Character: Hydra
Location: Same place as before Nightclub, Corner Table

The explanation about the portal threw Hydra off. So if I stepped outside here and now I'd be in a completely different dimension? What the hell IS this place? Her tail flicked back and forth uneasily, her fin ears twitched. She had thought this place had an unusual feel to it; now she knew.

"On the bright side," she mumbled, "this might mean there won't be as many people showing up after all." She looked toward the entrance, which seemed normal-looking. Then she looked toward where the entrance to the basement was, where nothing seemed out of the ordinary. After staring for a few seconds, Hydra turned her attention back to the menu. Might as well order something sooner or later... Dunno if they'd mind me just getting water, though.

"Of course I believe in the afterlife. I'm a ninja. A Buddhist." Then Aoi looked at Marcie "Could I have a job here? I could do something to protect the place..."

"Er, well, not really. You could check the portal every three minutes to see if it happened to land in your home world, but other than that... there's not really a way. The only portal I know of anywhere around here is the one in the basement, and it's broken. Sorry." Marcy fidgeted a bit, then remembered to actually pour the champagne she was holding. "Champagne?"

Aoi spoke, and she turned her attention to him. "Oh... I guess you could be a bouncer. That's where you throw people out who are causing trouble. But there's no killing involved."

"No worries, Sammy. You know, you could work here if you want."
"Sure. I'll take the boarding over the money, as that's more important right now. I can probably find another job elsewhere in the city." She looked down at her plate only to find all of her food was gone.

She overheard the mysterious man mutter something about not being able to get back home. "I'm sure there is a way to get back. But surely you don't want to leave us now that you're here? I mean, I can tell we're all gonna have a great time together." Sammy said with a huge grin on her face. "And I also most certainly believe in the afterlife. Both of my parents were killed by zombies, I encountered them first hand, and not to mentioned I am quite an expert on them as well."

"Okay thanks! Sorry about that I've been trained to kill my whole life..." He shrugged "Old habits die hard?" Then he chuckled because he just noticed how stupid that sounded.

"As long as you can restrain yourself, Aoi, you have a job." she laughed. "Do you want the room and board deal or the paycheck?" she asked, then turned to the girl. She cleared away Sammy's plate as the girl cheerfully talked about zombies to the new guy. "You can take one of the rooms upstairs then. They're nothing fancy, but they'll do. And what kind of job do you want here?" she asked, hoping she wasn't really interrupting because she kind of needed to know.

After realizing she had been talking the air since the man left, Sammy was quite embarrassed.
"And what kind of job do you want here?"
"It doesn't matter, I'll take anything I can get."

"Excellent. You can choose one of the rooms upstairs, then. There are really three shifts here: the 10 am to 4 pm, 4 pm to 10 pm, and 10 pm to 4 am. We're closed from 4 am to 10 am. You should probably work two shifts, and I think 4 pm to 4 am would be best, since that's when most of the rowdy people show up." Marcy sipped her champagne. "You'll still have a fair amount of time to sleep, I think." Turning to Sammy, she continued her little spiel. "You'd probably do alright helping Charlie out by washing dishes. I'll have you start there at least, maybe you'll want to do something else if you get bored."

Overhearing their conversation on jobs and rent, Tara's was pondering on whether she should consider sticking around herself. This place made fantastic Red Tea with Peaches, and she was quite curious on their other meals as well. But, she has no money, and unlike the other two, she really didn't have any skills either. She had no idea what kind of job she could get, but you have to try, right?

So, while a bit reluctantly, Tara moved from the table back to the bar and plopped down in a seat. She then waited patiently until the bartender was done speaking with the other girl.

Marcy took a breath and a sip of champagne, then noticed the Red Tea and Peaches girl was back at the counter. "Can I get you anything else?" she asked.

"Sure, I'll start off washing dishes. I'll probably end up taking up another job anyway as well."

Sammy rushes off to the kitchen to help with the dishes, only to find that only her plate and a glass are there. She quickly washes them, making sure that they are squeaky clean before she goes back to the bar area. When that's done, she goes and sits at a table and starts staring at the girl that ordered the tea earlier.

"I need to sleep..." Aoi walked to the stairs and went up to his bed and slept.

"'Night, Aoi," Marcy called after the boy. She then turned to the Red Tea and Peaches girl. "Oh, that's all? Nothing to worry about, dear. You don't need any kind of special skill, you just need a willingness to work. Is there anything you can think of that you prefer to do, or really don't want to do? That'll help me figure out what you could do." She pause. "By the way, what's your name? I don't think I caught it."
