This would mean that it was either 7 years back or their ages would be 14 and 13, that's just something I noticed.

I don't know how old he is in the movie.
 
He's suppoused to be a year or two older.

Its safe to assume he's possibly 17 years old. But I heard from a source that he is 16.
 
No, see he is 16 at the end of the series I read and it took place two years after the last episode.
