Well, the ability to go back into the human world would be useful somewhere down the line, but it shouldn't be available at the beginning of the story.

I'll PM you CoN~ with an idea I just had

yeah you can go to the human world to like create the digimon that you scanned or something like that. :D

I've come up with a design for the Digivice; I'll scan and post it in a minute.
As far as I know, none of the Digimon World games have the real world in them; a story intertwining both worlds like the anime could work well.

Well, it can be at least going back to your room to manage your PC/farm/whatever, but we can obviously expand that if it works.

Virtual brang up something about Digimon escaping into the real world, I think that'd work.

I do want to keep the bulk of the story in the Digital World though, because I want a heavy emphasis on scenery and exploration, something Digimon World DS almost completely lacks.

hmm...... this seems like a solid idea, you're going to need some SERIOUSLY good tile artists though, but I don't think that will be a problem. I personally think that you shouldn't bring the old tamers in to the game, it will be more original that way. Tamer customization would be pretty cool. And it wouldn't be to hard to rip some sprites from dusk/dawn.

Anyway I'm kind of getting sick of pokemon games so if you want I could help with mapping/ideas.

hmm...... It would work perfectley if you make it like digimon world ds, when you think about it, it seems like rpgmaker xp/vx and digimon just go together xD

Perhaps you should be able to customize your Digivice, too. Have upgrades available in-game as the story progresses, or through optional sidequests. For example, an upgrade could be needed to digivolve to Ultimate and Mega, and to degenerate Digimon back to In-training. Optional upgrades would be mix and match, with abilities such as increasing power of elemental attacks or increasing resistance to status. Only 3 or so optional upgrades could be used at a time.
And obviously, colour customization :P

yeah that sounds good like you will need to upgrade your digivice to like the digivice burst(using as an example) to digivolve your digimon to a mega or even a super ultimate.

There aren't enough Super Ultimates to warrant their own upgrade, though...

Maybe something like this?

I like this idea, especially colour customization :P

So I suppose now we have 3 designs to choose from.

How about the player can choose from the 3 designs?
