Emerald hack: The Pit v2 - Roguelite Style Hack

Thanks for getting right back. Trying to figure this out. Am I in the right place. Appreciate your assistance.View attachment 172883
no you don't need to interact with the emulator at all.
Just press R+START together right in the game.

This will bring up a debug menu where you can navigate to "Flags & Vars" and then "Toggle Collision OFF". This will allow you to walk through walls and get out of the situation.
Just remember to turn it back ON again afterwards.

Oh and please share a screenshot of your trainer card, so we know what version you are on.
Thx!

Oh my! That's a nice chunky list so thanks a lot for the heads up :)

Still, I have to ask that awkward question again . . . Any changes planned for the Music?

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have a lot of variety, but there's times where it feels like there's A LOT of variety, so maybe a smaller curated playlist would be cool, maybe a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon one, IDK just pointless rambling I guess, nevertheless I think it may be something worth considering moving forward.

But until then, I'll relish in the fact there's a new update today, and I'm gonna have a blast :)

Description:

This is a roguelite hack that is inspired by Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, in which the Pit of 100 Trials is an optional dungeon with 100 floors of battles. We have translated that concept into Pokemon with some twists.

In this challenge, you start with 3 random Pokemon and must fight through a random trainer gauntlet over 100 Floors. You and each trainer have random mons. There is a singles, doubles, and mixed mode as well as tons of other difficulty and challenge options. The Enemy trainer mon levels are tied to the floor number, with Lvl 1 being the minimum and Lvl 100 being the maximum. The number of trainers per floor is random from 1-4, at the start its weighted towards single trainer floors and the average number increases as you progress. After clearing each floor you will get item drops and then the next floor warp will activate letting you progress. Every 5th floor is a Heal/Shop/Tutor floor where you will be able to rest and prepare for the next trial. Every 25th floor, there is a random Boss battle with a harder trainer, if you defeat the boss you will be given an option to gain a party member.

If you do manage to beat the final trainer on Floor 100, you can choose to keep going and see how far you can get. That's all the info I've got. Hopefully, you have fun. If you're interested in discussing the hack make sure to join the Discord.

im having a pretty big issue, maybe its an easy fix but honestly im not good with these kinds of things and dont really understand what to do. I downloaded the romhack straight from the googledocs, it downloaded as an mgba and i have mgba on my computer, but for whatever reason no matter what i do (I tried extracting, zipping and unzipping, and transferring to a different kind of file) but every time i attempt to load it, this is the popup i get... im sorry if its an obvious fix but i truly dont know how to fix this. i didnt see anywhere that i needed to patch it to an emerald rom, and i dont know how to do that manually anyways... any advice would be so helpful thank you >~<;;

You have to patch it to an Emerald ROM. Every romhack ever released has to be patched. It's illegal to share prepatched ROMs and there aren't any romhackers that do it. They would be banned from this website. The only way to get a prepatched ROM is from an illegal sketchy scam site that steal hacks without permission to make money illegally off of other peoples work.

You just need to take the .bps file, get a copy of vanilla Emerald (US) and insert them into a GBA rom patcher. One should be linked in the post but you can also just google rom patcher and it will show up.

Minor Update Pushed

## Change log for v2.4.3:

- added autorun option
- fixed edge case double battle bug where the trainer could send out the same party member twice
- added ash greninja overworld sprite
- added substitute doll as separate avatar
- fixed Ironmon preset as it was missing a BST limitation (was active in the Custom Mode Ironmon preset already)

Minor oversight, Steelix cannot learn Iron Head. I did try to teach the TM rather than trust the preview screen and yes it genuinely cannot learn Iron Head. That is all!

I don't know enough about Pokemon learnsets to give you a straight answer, but I do know every person who has reported a learnset problem in the year+ we've been released has been wrong. And they just don't understand that the learnsets are generated using the latest appearance of the Pokemon for the Generation patch that you're playing, which includes stuff like BDSP which is what trips some people up.

Looking at Bulbapedia, Steelix cannot learn Iron Head as of Gen 9, so assuming they are playing the patch with all Gens, their Steelix won't be able to learn it, correct?

Oh cool Steelix has been f'd over by BDSP just not having an Iron Head TM or Tutor even though it gets access to the move in SwSh & LA and would have if it appeared in ScarVio.

No issue here then, but that is a bummer, thank you guys!

It can learn Iron Head in BDSP, since those games are Gen 8. Same with Sword/Shield and LA.

It doesn't get it in Scarlet & Violet, so if you play with all Gens, you cannot get it.

You being "f'd over" by Scarlet/Violet if anything.

Well it doesn't learn anything in gen 9, Steelix is completely unobtainable in ScarVio, so the learnset has to have been taken from a different game. The only reason then it shouldn't have access to Iron Head is because it doesn't have access in BDSP. If we want to say PLA is Gen 9... it gets Iron Head in that game. So now I'm just confused
