The PokéCommunity: Official OU Shoddy Tournament
So, the Skye Cup Tournament was shut down because of the lack of interest and activity from its participants. Here's the next attempt~
This tournament is Shoddy only. Shoddy is an online battling simulator that can be downloaded here. Please download the program before participating if you haven't already.
The purpose of this tournament is similar to the first. To help jump start the competitive scene on the Pokécommunity and to serve as a model for other people's tournaments and how to run them. We were overall pleased with the first tournament, so here's to hoping this one is just as successful as the first.

Tournament Rules
→ Due to the incomplete Platinum updates on the PokeCommunity's Shoddy Server, the tournament will be held on Smogon's Shoddy Server. You can access the Smogon Server by clicking it in the welcome window as shown here. Under the circumstance that it does not appear in the welcome window, click the Advanced button and type in Host: smogon.com | Port: 50000
→ Please send the unedited battle log to one of the following people: Dark_Azelf, Anti, Regina George, or Cherii. The log should labeled like so: Round # - Name vs. Name (Score as Win-Loss). These are vital to getting your matches counted. If you are having a format issue when you open up your log, rename its file extension to .doc.
→ Scouting something that you should not engage in. Understand that it is severely frowned upon, but it can't be controlled; however if you are caught scouting any participant's team, you will be disqualified immediately. If any player playing their match wants you to leave, please do so.
→ Also, disconnections (AKA "leaving the room") will most likely count as a loss for the person who left unless you and your opponent can agree to a rematch if the connection was at fault (One of the tournament officials MUST be notified about this with 2 battle logs, the match in which the DC happened AND the rematch). If you disconnect and say nothing within a respectable period of time, it will count as a loss for you.
→ If a player feels that his opponent was losing and disconnected just so he could have a rematch to gain an advantage in said rematch please pm one of the tournament creators the battle log (which must be unedited) you feel was suspect and we will judge if there was going to be a clear winner at the time the disconnection took place. The tournament creators' decisions regarding disconnections are final.
→ The most important rule though is that you should only join if you are certain that you will be able to meet deadlines and actually finish your battle. Be sure you have a team ready to battle as well, otherwise you will be tempted to put off your match until the last minute, which never ends well.
→ The tournament works in the classic format. Total of 16 participants, randomly paired up, battle winner vs. winner of each round until there is one winner left. The remaining will be sent to battle in the Losers Bracket.

Required Clauses
→ Evasion Clause: Evasion Moves are banned (Double Team, Minimize etc).
→ Freeze Clause: Only one Pokémon per team may be frozen at any one given time.
→ OHKO Clause: OHKO Moves are banned (moves that faint a Pokémon in one hit such as Fissure and Sheer Cold).
→ Sleep Clause: Only one Pokémon per team may be forcibly put under the Sleep Status at any one given time, not including Rest users.
→ Species Clause: You may only use one of the same Pokémon per team. For example, you can use only one Charizard, but you may use a Charmander and/or Charmeleon too.
→ Strict Damage Clause: When the opposing Pokémon takes damage, Strict Damage Clause ensures that it won't give away items that the Pokémon holds based on how much damage the attacks do, just like on WiFi. The clause stops "It's super effective! Dunsparce lost 999% of its health!" This would give away that the Pokémon holds an attack-boosting item like a Choice Band or that it is heavily EVed in attack, or both. Strict Damage Clause instead changes the text to "It's super effective, Dunsparce lost 100% of its health" so that it won't give away items and EVs.
→ Self-KO Clause: If both players are down to one Pokémon each, you are not allowed to use a move that knocks out both Pokémon to force a tie (such as Explosion). If a recoil damage move forces a tie, then the Self-KO Clause does not trigger.
→ Ubers Clause: Since this is a tournament for the OU metagame, Uber Pokémon will be banned. Uber Pokémon include: Mewtwo, Mew, Wobbuffet, Lugia, Ho-oh, Wynaut, Latias (with Soul Dew), Latios (regardless of item choice), Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Deoxys (All forms), Garchomp, Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, Giratina-O, Manaphy, Darkrai & Arceus (all types), Shaymin-S (Sky forme).
→ Santa Clause: He's sexy.
