(OOC: This is the first time I'm trying a self training post. Hope I did alright with it.)
Takumi Ryuuhiko
After having that . . . what at best Takumi might call a private lesson with that new teacher Miss Ash, Takumi headed back to his room at the academy to change into his outdoor training outfit and get his bag with some super potions and full heals. Never know what might happen while out training. He felt almost like the lesson they just had was good enough to count as a class to him. He probably could ask her to have the lesson they just had today count as credit for him attending a class today. Now he felt like it was time to start training his team.
Takumi began to walk through the Depths of the Forest. He had decided to let out Charmander for he planned to train each of his pokemon today. Charmander just happened to be the first one he planned to work with today.
A wild Beedrill approached the two with its stinger-like arms thrust out as it attempted to charge at Charmander. Takumi's eyes glowed a bright red but he was only a fraction of a second late as his Charmander had already been struck by one of Beedrill's stinger arms on the shoulder.
Charmander, Dragon Rage!
As the Beedrill flew past Charmander and turned around to continue its attack, Charmander had an orb of dark blue flame-like energy glowing in his mouth until he unleashed it to hit the Beedrill head on as the Beedrill was charging at the salamander-like pokemon again. The Beedrill tumbled and rolled on the ground past the Charmander when it fell to the ground from the attack.
Finish him with Dragon Claw before he has time to recover from the attack, then proceed to use Ember!
His Charmander ran after the Beedrill as the claws on his good arm began to glow a bright bluish white energy. As soon as the Beedrill began to get back up, Charmander delivered the 3 nailed attack at the Beedrill's chest, and then Charmander opened his mouth to fire the flames of the Ember attack at the Beedrill's face. The Beedrill fell back on the ground KO'd, already in pain from the attacks it had sustained.
Charmander began to glow white as his form changed shape, now evolving into Charmelion. Takumi reached into his bag to retrieve a potion to heal Charmelion's injured shoulder from the fight against the Beedrill, only to stop as soon as he heard a buzzing sound. He and his Charmelion turned their heads to see that there were apparently two other Beedrills who had appeared near their fallen ally. Takumi began to suspect that he may have stumbled upon a group of Beedrill from the same colony. He and his Charmeleon wouldn't be able to outrun a swarm of Beedrill alone, he had already known this.
Best chance for escape right now is if we manage to stop these two before they call more of their allies, he told his Charmeleon. Can you still fight even with your injury?
The Charmeleon nodded to him. It wasn't too severe of an injury his shoulder had sustained.
Smoke Screen, then Fire Fang.
Charmeleon spewed out the black smoke around the two Beedrills before jumping up at one of them, teeth burning with fire, and sinking its jaws down into the back of one of the Beedrill's abdonomin. The Beedrill made a higher pitched buzzing noise in pain before Charmeleon let go of it. The Beedrill tried to get some distance between himself and Charmeleon before the other Beedrill charged at Charmeleon using Twineedle. Takumi realized there wasn't enough time to mount a proper counter attack by the time the Twineedles would hit his Charmeleon if he tried to have Charmeleon use one of his normal attacks.
Duck! Jab with your tail!
The Charmeleon leaned his body forward to duck the Twineedles, then his tail shot forward to have the Beedrill take a face full of the flames from Charmeleon's tail. The Beedrill flew back up as it tried to sooth its burned face even just a small bit before it would try another attack.
The Beedrill with the damaged abdonomin managed to tackle Charmeleon from the side before flying back up in the air and firing a string shot around Charmeleon's mouth. As Charmeleon scratched and clawed at the silk around its face, the two Beedrills fired a pair of Pin Missiles at Charmeleon's legs, bringing the pokemon onto its hands and knees.
Not good. Most of Charmeleon's attacks come from his mouth alone, Takumi thought as he assessed the situation. He saw the Beedrill with the burned face about to charge at Charmeleon again. Charmeleon! Roll over and use Dragon Claw!
Just as the Beedrill was about to impale Charmeleon again, Charmeleon rolled onto his back so that the Beedrill's twin stingers dug into the ground. Just before the Beedrill could get his stingers out, Charmeleon rolled back and stuck that Beedrill in the back with Dragon Claw to KO that Beedrill as well.
Use the flames of your tail to melt off the silk Charmeleon, then use Ember on the last Beedrill.
Charmeleon's tail came up to burn the Beedrill's silk off of his mouth. Thank goodness Charmeleon's don't get damaged from their own tail flames. Or at least that's what Takumi assumed. Soon as Charmeleon's jaw was free he opened his mouth and fired another Ember at the last Beedrill, only to be struck by one of the Beedrill's twineedles in the chest. The third Beedrill now KO'd, Takumi walked over to Charmeleon to examine his injuries.
Hold still. It doesn't look like their attacks did too much damage to you. At the very least you aren't poisoned. Hold still while I use a Super Potion, he communicated to his Charmeleon. He pulled out a Super Potion from his bag and sprayed it on Charmeleon's chest, legs, shoulder, the side that Charmeleon was tackled on, and just to be save he also sprayed it on Charmeleon's jaw in case Charmeleon strained it or hurt it when he was trying to get the silk off his mouth. Are you feeling better? The Charmeleon nodded. Can you still fight? The Charmeleon nodded again. Then let us continue today's training.
As Takumi and Charmeleon continued through the Depths of the Forest, they stop in front of a trainer from the Academy. He looked like a Suicune Student judging from his jacket.
"Hey! You! You from the academy?" the kid asked.
Takumi debated whether or not to answer the kid or leave him alone. Takumi wasn't too fond of how the Suicune students acted now. They seemed to be a lot smugger in their tone than how they used to be from what he remembered.
"Are you looking for a battle?" Takumi asked.
"You bet I am! So will you fight me or what?! Unless you're chicken! What's with the black outfit huh? You think you're cool or something?" the kid asked in a smug tone. "Bet you're some kind of puny first year Raikou or Entei student aren't you?!"
Takumi scoffed before letting out a small laugh.
"Just how naïve can you kids get?" he asked in a mocking tone. Granted . . . this kid was probably close to Takumi's age. "Three years away from this place and almost nothing has changed! I accept your challenge."
The kid looked a little startled at Takumi's outburst but his cocky grin came back to him. "Fine let's do this! Go Pansage!" he said as he brought out the grass type monkey looking pokemon.
Charmeleon stepped forward without Takumi having to say a thing.
"Pansage use Cut!"
The Pansage ran forward and lifted up one of his small arms to cut at Charmeleon.
Arm block Charmeleon.
Charmeleon lifted up his left forearm to block Pansage's wrist and pushed it away to knock away Pansage's attack, only to have it slightly cut into his arm as a result.
Ember. Fire Fang.
Charmeleon opened his mouth and shot out a mess of small flames and pelted Pansage with them. The grass type pokemon stumbled back as most of its body was covered in burn spots, but Charmeleon jumped forward and bit Pansage's shoulder with the Fire Fang attack.
"PANSAGE! USE BITE!" the student called out in fear.
Pansage used Bite on Charmeleon's horn or hump thing in the back of Charmeleon's head. "NOW VINE WHIP!" Charmeleon flinched and let go of Pansage before the pokemon jumped back to unleash a Vine Whip on Charmeleon.
Charmeleon stumbled back and fell to a knee for a second, until he got back up and took another battle pose.
Smoke Screen.
Charmeleon opened his mouth as a black gas spewed out and surrounded Pansage. Pansage coughed for a moment as it struggled to try and find Charmeleon.
Use toxic on the ground in front of you, then fire an ember attack to let him know where you are.
Charmeleon shot out a gush of toxic liquids as they formed a puddle between him and the smoke screen that the Pansage was still struggling inside.
"Don't worry Pansage! We just gotta wait for them to make the first move and we'll know where to hit them!" pansage's trainer said as he was unaware of what trap Takumi was planning.
Charmeleon fired out an Ember attack at the smoke screen, barely missing the Pansage as it dropped to the ground to avoid getting hit by Charmeleon's flame.
"There you saw that Pansage? Go get him! That's where his Charmeleon is! Go out there and give him a taste of your vine whip again!" the trainer called out.
Pansage ran out with a pair of vines already out and about to hit Charmeleon before it slipped and fell on the Toxic puddle that was lying just outside of the Smokescreen. Pansage struggled to get up, although now he was slowly having his health sapped away by the poison afflicting chemicals.
"Pansage, What's wrong?!" the trainer asked. As the smoke screen began clearing up further, the trainers eyes focused on the purple ooze-like puddle his pokemon had fallen into. "Wh-What is that?!"
"It seems your pokemon fell into the Toxic trap Charmeleon had laid out for him to run into," Takumi said to the trainer. "For a Suicune you are not a very good trainer to say at the very least."
Dragon Rage Charmeleon. Finish it.
"USE VINE WHIP QUICKLY PANSAGE!" the trainer called out.
Pansage slowly got up and had a vine already out as he swung it at Charmeleon, only to get blown to ashes when Charmeleon unleashed the Dragon Rage blast from his mouth at the Pansage. The green monkey looking pokemon was sent flying back to his trainer KO'd with its back on the ground.
"PANSAGE!" the trainer called to his pokemon as he stared down at him.
Takumi let out a mocking laugh. "For all the talk you had earlier, you failed significantly in that battle. Would you care to try again or would you like to run away?"
"What-Why y-y-you'll see!" the trainer began after returning Pansage to his pokeball. "I'll come back here with some more of my Suicune friends and we'll kick your butt! We'll teach you not to mess with us Suicunes!"
Takumi only laughed again. "You arrogant punk, not even you can hide behind the Suicune Dorm's name forever."
"O-oh y-yeah?! What makes you so h-h-high and m-mighty then?!" the boy stammered, still being arrogant and trying to keep a face of anger and all despite the fact he just lost to this guy.
"Three years ago I was a student at this academy. I was a member of the Lugia dorm," Takumi began as he and his Charmeleon GLARED at the student in front of them. "Now I've come back to this Academy as a Suicune Dorm Student. You aren't that very impressive."
"O-Oh yeah?! W-We'll show you! Ju-Just you wait!" cried the student before he ran off through the trees back to the academy.
Takumi walked over to Charmeleon and began to treat his pokemon with another Super Potion. We will sit here a while and rest, just to make sure you have a decent recovery before we continue with the training for right now. The charmeleon nodded in response, and they sat on the ground in the depths of the forest alone for about half an hour as Takumi allowed his pokemon to recover. During that time, Takumi had used his pokedex to check and see Charmeleon's new stats as well as whether or not he had learned a new move from that battle and if so which he had forgotten. He noticed his Charmeleon had forgotten Ember and learned Flame Burst as a result. After checking that, Takumi was reading a field guide that listed the wild pokemon that could be found on the island. One particular one caught his interest, and pulling out his pokedex, he began searching for information on that pokemon.
Hmm. . . a Deino. A very peculiar and interesting pokemon, he thought to himself. He continued reading some more information about it before he looked into the pokemon's evolved forms. After a bit of reading, he closed his pokedex and stood up. One very interesting pokemon indeed. Charmeleon, get up. It's time we added another member to our team.
The Charmeleon looked up at him and stood up, almost fully recovered from that fight with the Pansage just now. He followed his trainer as they began to seek out the new pokemon.
Sometime later Takumi and Charmeleon found themselves close to the base of the mountain in front of a cave. They proceeded to walk inside of the cave, using Charmeleon's flame tail as a source of light to help guide them through the darkness.
After a bit of navigating, they found the pokemon they were looking for. The long necked blue scaled black haired body turned to them when it heard their approach and charged straight at them with a tackle attack.
Jump to the side now! Takumi ordered as he did the same. They both hit the ground to avoid the Deino's tackle. The Deino on the other hand had kept running until it hit its head against the cave wall. After it shook it's head to get rid of its sense of dizziness and refocus on his opponents, he charged at them again.
Charmeleon, smoke screen!
Charmeleon fired the smoke screen, but the pokemon had still run straight through it and it fired a Dragon Breath attack on Charmeleon. The Deino coughed a little bit after it had fired that attack because of the smoke screen it had just run through, but it shook it off as it was about to fire another Dragon Breath attack.
That's right, Deino is blind, smokescreen doesn't affect him as much as it would for any other pokemon. Not on terms of sight. Charmeleon! Counter using Flame Burst!
The red pokemon quickly got up and unleashed a huge burst of fire from its mouth to counter Deino's Dragon Breath attack, as well as to continue and strike Deino. The pokemon ran around for a few moments ramming itself into walls as it tried to put out the small flames on its body that already ignited from the Flame Burst's fires hitting the hairs on his body. Soon as the Deino got the flames out it looked back over to his opponents.
Dragon Rage, then Dragon Claw!
Charmeleon's mouth glowed as it fired out a Dragon Rage attack. Deino fired a Dragon Rage attack as well. While both attacks had canceled each other out, Charmeleon ran forward with claws on one of his arms glowing before he used Dragon Claw on Deino's chest. Deino retaliated by using Crunch attack on Charmeleon's arm after he got struck by the Dragon Claw attack. Charmeleon let out a wail of pain as he tried to shake off the small pokemon.
Fire Toxic at his face, then unleash Flame Burst when he lets go of your arm!
Charmeleon fired the Toxic attack at the Deino still clamped onto his arm. The Deino's face twitched when it got that poison attack in the face and released Charmeleon's arm as it jumped back and tried to shake the poison off his face, but of course it was too late. The poison had already taken its effect. Sadly though, Charmeleon's own arm was infected by the Toxic as well, so now he was poisoned just like the Deino. That still didn't stop him from unleashing Flame Burst on the smaller Pokemon. The Deino rolled back from recoil of the attack and hit the cave wall.
Takumi reached down to his pocket to pull out an Ultraball. After the ball became full sized in his hand, he threw the ball straight at the Deino's forehead and watched as the ultraball bounced off the Deino's head, open up, and in a red flash of light, sucked up the pokemon into the Ultraball before it closed and bounced on the ground. Charmeleon and Takumi watched as the ball twitched and moved restlessly while the center spot on the Ultraball still glowed red. After a few moments, it stopped moving and made a low toned ding or beep like sound just before the red light dimmed out.
Takumi walked over and picked up the device that now contained the newest member of his team and looked over to Charmeleon with a dark grin on his face. We have a new ally.
The Charmeleon nodded, still a little woozy and dizzy from the poison affecting him right now before he fell to a knee. Takumi walked over before pulling out a full heal and a super potion which he used to treat both the poison and Charmeleon's injuries.
I need you for just a little bit longer. Your tail is the only light I have to guide us out of this cave. Once we are outside I will let you rest in your Ultraball as well and take both you and Deino to the Pokemon Center to get proper treatment.
After retracing their steps to the cave's entrance, Takumi returned Charmeleon to his Ultraball and walked back towards the direction of the Academy and Oak Town. Rather than use the Center that was located in the Academy, Takumi decided to use the one in Oak Town so that he could avoid talking with any of the students or teachers right now about what he was doing this morning. After waiting for an hour, his pokemon were returned to him completely healed.
He headed to the Pokemart next to purchase a few more Full Heals and Super Potions, then he walked back out to the wild again to continue training his pokemon.
