I do like comedy quizzes, don't get me wrong, just not all of them. It depends if I know a lot about who's presenting it and stuff. If I know it's going to be funny because so-and-so if on I'll sit and watch it. Like, I've Got News For You, I don't particularly like the people on it, which is why I don't like it. Maybe if it was presented by someone else I would watch it. No idea.

Qi is really good sometimes. I've watched lots and lots of episodes. If you watch it on UKTV G2 they repeat a lot of the episodes, which is probably why I'm slowly going off it. I watched Jimmy Carr lives a few weeks ago, and for once, I actually laughed at it. XD

Okay, let's do that!
Have I Got News For You isn't really one of the better quiz shows, I'll agree. But it, along with Paul Merton, is a show that I've grown up with so there's a nostalgic value there. I've never really been keen on Ian Hislop though, and a lot of their guests have been politicians or journalists etc. So the majority of the comedy has had to come from Paul Merton, which is disappointing.

I watched Qi on UKTV G2 just before christmas, I was quite pleased because there was 6 episodes on back to back, I thought it was gonna be awesome. But it turned out that they just showed three episodes and then, for some crazy reason, decided to repeat those same episodes immediately after.

I have two DVDs of Jimmy Carr Live and I think they're awesome. He has a very specific style, he uses sarcasm and wit better than most. And I just love dry humour. And I love stand up comedian shows, I wish more got shown on TV. I have quite a few DVDs of different people, like Peter Kay, Dave Spikey, Paddy McGuinness, Bill Bailey, Chris Rock, Jack Dee (so old now XD) and I wanna get some more when I see another comedian's show that entertains me.

EDIT: Haha, I murdered the DCC.

You didn't murder it...you absolutely demolished the DCC. No posts for like 12 hours?! I told you to stop talking about British TV shows, but no. What do I know, right? =X

I ruined it?! I think he was the one doing the ruining. XD

At least I wasn't the one to do it. :x I wanted to, though, so badly. And now that I know of his ambition, I'll never let him do it. XD;

At least there's someone else out there not willing to let the DCC die. ;D

You're so evil and I'm always so nice to you. XD

I was so close though, it only needed another 65 minutes. But, still, I think I've found a foolproof way scaring the n00bs away.

I've figured that out a long time ago. All you need is multiple large paragraphs with big words and they'll go running for the hills.

And uhh...I don't think Abby is the evil one...DCC Destroyer... XD

It also helps if you talk about something obscure to the majority of the American/Australian/Asian members, such as British TV. I knew whilst writing the post that if Matt didn't reply to it straight away that I was going to be able to kill it for a while.

And I was so sure I'd make it to 12 hours too, seriously, we were counting from about 3 hours up. But I had to go to bed once it reached 9 hours, and I wake up to find you'd posted 65 minutes too early..XD

Nooo. T_T; I wanted to see it killed for 12 hours. We had to convince Abby (though didn't have to try THAT hard to convince her XD) not to post so you'd do it. D:

Oh well. It's still a new record, I think. o_o

I would've bugged her about it for days if it was Abby that stopped me reaching the goal. XD

If you take away the times when the server was down for days, I'm pretty sure it smashes the last record. But still, 12 hours would've just been a cool number to finish on. XD

I just wonder though, if I didn't edit it to add that little comment at the end of my post, whether MegaFuz would've still replied. Meh, whatif's and all that. XD

I know that my father used to watch it all the time. But seeing as he spent so little time at home, it wasn't something I can say "I grew up with".

UKTV G2 do that all the time. It's so annoying when they say "we've got a whole weekend of ___". So you sit at home watching it and then after three or so episodes you watch the first one again. Gah, I hate it. Although, I think I've seen most, if not all, the episodes of the TV shows I like. So watching a weekend of them probably means I'm going to see a lot of what I've already seen again.

I didn't know you could get Jimmy Carr on DVD, actually. I might pick it up as after seeing him live, I've really taken a liking to the way he works his humour. When he was on Qi I didn't really like the way he responded to certain things, but I did admire him from there. I can't really name a bunch of comedians that I like, really. Most of them are either dead or really old that they don't do any TV shows anymore...

Maybe I should come over and watch your DVDs? XD

There - 21 hours later, the reply!

Sorry to spoil the master plan. =X

I still would have commented, Dawson. When I left for work your post was the last one. Then I got home from work, ate dinner, watched the Bush speech, came back, and you still had the last post. I thought to myself "Wow...that's gotta be darn close to 12 hours of not a single post." I checked the time and sure enough, it was about an hour away.

Jimmy Carr- Live Collection. £12 for two DVDs is a bargain, no matter which way you look, it's even better when you love both DVDs too.

Man, you must really love the old comedies then. XD Then again, I do too. Only Fools and Horses being, in my opinion, one of the greatest sitcoms ever. And that stretches back to before I was born too.

Come over if you want to, I'm gonna be watching the Jimmy Carr one tonight XD

If only you'd waited that extra hour. XD

xD Probably wouldn't have since that was all he had to comment on.

And the downtimes don't count. D:
Then I'm just plain awesome at killing this thread. XD

Awesome, I'm going to get that.

I do! My granddad has some of The Two Ronnie videos, and I just love them. XD And I agree with you about Only Fools and Horses; that show is just awesome in all ways possible.

And 'kay, I'll be over. XD

Sweet, I like the way you quote people, Dawson. :>~ But...it's sad. xD I used to think I always killed the DCC since sometimes it'd go 10 to 30 minutes without a post after I'd been in. :B But you really take the cake with your almost-but-not-quite 12 hours.

The Two Ronnies were awesome too, I love their sketches, and most of them pwn all of the sketch shows that have followed since. They were comedy geniuses(?).

I was gonna use a 9inchpizza reference about penis failure at first, but I decided to be nice XD

A DCC kill like that would've been major a couple of years ago, now 10-30 minute delays between posts are common. But hey, at least I've stirred actual conversations in here over the last 4-5 pages. XD

Yeah, last time I really checked in on the DCC (can you tell I'm not in here very often? XD) it was at the point where if it was silent for 10 minutes you were a laughingstock for killing it. Or at least, it felt like it. DX

Rofl, a reference would've been cool too; highly inappropriate but hey, more interesting than leaving "Lightning" in the default I think. XD

Them and Morecambe & Wise were the best in their time, and still are one of the best now.

Everyone gets a new quote name apart from me. Even Kevin got changed to "Fuz". I feel left out. ;_;
