How about you make a topic for the spider stories, so we can get them out of here? ;_; I want to post, but somehow I don't think that a spider on my face would get me over the fear.

My Mom's had a spider up her dress, she's still afraid 8D

That's so disgusting!

I hate bugs!

I hate bugs!

I hate bugs! >|

I use to love Spring, but I hate Spring now just because bugs come out during that time. =x

Bugs mind their own business most of the time. With the exception of flies and mosquitos, I really don't mind insects. Even bees mind their own business most of the time. And even if they do sting you, it doesn't hurt that much. I also enjoy the self-satisfaction that because they decided to sting me, they are going to die. XD

They kill you here. Ever heard of the drop bugs? They'll take your face off...

[Total of people who got that reference: 0]

I have never heard of the drop bugs that take your face off. Don't tell me the "0" means you don't get the reference yourself. Now tell! >O

Fzzy, I guess you enjoy unleashing your killer intent on them then.

I just dislike the bugs that bug me, I guess. I hate killer bugs especially. Disgusting. I just hate every bug that invades my territory.

Umm...no, I havn't. They sound pretty hardcore though. XD

Heck yes!! XD

I got the reference myself, duh. It's from a book.

I meant tell the reference, not the source. :P What does this book say this drop bug is called? :P

I suggest you not whip out random quotes from books. It confuses me...and obviously Shutgun was confused too. XD

Umm...I think it's called a 'drop bug', Shotgun.

I enjoyed this particular confusion though. :P o_o;

*Sleepy at 3:41 AM* =_=

Drop bug.. hah. xDD

Well, it's from a relatively obscure book. =P

Don't blame the book for obscurity of your comprehension of it. :P J/K ;_;

Why are you looking at this particular obscure book? :\

Well...as Shotgun pointed out it's almost 4 AM our time. And I've had quite enough of this relative obscurity for one night. XD

G'night everyone. XD

My body is dying. ;D

Good night. I'm going to sleep too.

Eww, if I ever had a spider on my clothing I'd literally scream. Well, maybe not really scream but it'd freak me out a lot. I don't know why people are so scared of them really, they're tiny compared to us and only a few of them can harm a human.

I think I've ran out of spider stories now though, and by the looks of it, I'll be the only one that'd post in there. And, hey, you'll never know until you try. XD

You know what they say: "to get over your fear, face it."
Awesome.

Reason's the only reason we even have fear. It's never done anything to help me get rid of certain fears, so jumping head first into something always works for me. Not always actually, more like, 80% of the time, but it's a lot better than why reason and logic.
It makes sense though, the only way you're going to overcome any fear is to deal with it head on. There are two ways of overcoming a fear, gradual progression where you're slowly exposed to your fear, and full immersion, where you're thrown right in. They both end with you doing exactly the same thing, so why bother doing it slowly?

Of course, there's bound to have been one or two heart attacks from full immersion to their fears.

Yeah, those tiny little things don't go around plotting ways to kill us. They're just looking for food and a safe place to hide, that's all their lives consist of. They aren't like wild lions who'll rip you to shreds if they see you.

I had a spider crawl up my sleeve at work once and I couldn't get it out, so I had to take off my shirt just to find it. I'd love to see that happen to somebody else. XD

I don't know where the fear comes from, or why it's so common. Because it does make no sense. Then again, that's why it's called arachnophobia, a phobia is an irrational fear of something.

Seeing as people at work know of my fear for spiders, whenever I'm working in the packing room they usually try and put one of me. I get so freaked out, and all they do it laugh. XD

Yeah, I suppose. And I'm also afraid of mice, and they're tiny as well.

All of my fears are irrational, except for maybe Ebola-- *shot*

Er, anyways. Cups of noodles, and the club suit >_>

Matt -- you know, the size of something doesn't make it irrational. Certain viruses, which are microscopic, can wipe out literally millions of people. The Spanish Flu killed, in a short period of time, more people than World War I, which was right before it.

An irrational fear is a fear of something that can not really harm you in any way. Like agoraphobia, the fear of being out of the house or a "safe" place, is an irrational fear because leaving the house and going outside wont do anything to you. Bad things can happen after you've left the house, but leaving the house is normal.

Fear of flying is an irrational fear too. Because flying is a perfectly normal activity, and no harm can come from flying, except maybe your eyes popping. A fear of crashing is a rational fear, but flying itself isn't.
