Why is everyone so down on Bulbasaur? Bulbasaur is a great Pokemon! Anyway I've rped and run rps with most of the people on the reserved list so im pretty sure they'll get through but for some reason they drop out or don't sign up then yes.
It's not that bulbasaur is bad, it's just that Meowth suits her so much more, she's lost her Persian so she'd be more likely to try and replace it. Bulbasaur is good too though, I can imagine her sitting atop a Venusaur instead of actually walking herself LOL.
Here it is, Zim. Just tell me whether or not the Pokemon I've chosen is alright, cause I've got a back-up prepared if it isn't. BTW, we're still doing the whole steampunk thing, right?
GET BACK!
Name: Kristopher 'Kris' Lucian
Gender: Male Age: 17
Appearance: Kris stands at six feet one inch, with solid grey eyes and short black hair gelled to one side, but still spiking up slightly. He has an easy complexion from spending an equal amount of his time outside as well as indoors. Upon his torso he wears a red dinner jacket, which extends past his waist at the back and ends in two points. This is worn over the top of a clean black button-up shirt with long sleeves, around his chest there is a copper ring which acts as protection from most weapons. He doesn't wear it for fear of being attacked; he simply saw other people wearing it and decided to add it to his ensemble.
Moving on, Kris wears a pair of simply black dress pants to match his shirt. A short silver chain is attached to one of his belt loops and links to another one further along. His shoes are a pair of slick leather dress shoes with pointed toes, no laces, and slightly raised heels. Hanging from his neck is a pair of goggles, made mostly from copper, leather, and, of course, thick glass for the lenses.
Personality: Despite his parents being peasants and growing up in poverty, with barely enough food to survive, Kris speaks with a sophisticated tone of voice. It's as if he were raised by the king himself. This is Kris' way of growing up and leaving the thought of his childhood behind him as he progresses into adulthood. This is also the reason why he has chosen to go on this Pokémon journey, to better mature himself for the world.
Kris is a kind and thoughtful young man, but can easily become hostile if you get on his bad side or deprave him of something he yearns for. He's willing to help those in need, but usually expects thanks in return. With lots of upper body strength from growing up on a farm, and also plenty of leg muscle, Kris isn't someone you'd want to make your enemy. Best to just show him respect and not make him angry.
History: As stated before, Kris lived on a farm with his mother and father. That's where he was born and that's where he grew up, this is the first time he's been away from home. Back then, all Kris' life consisted of was helping his father chop wood and hauling it back to the house, getting fresh water from the well, and ploughing the earth to get ready for the wheat which they grew. He'd also help his mother with small tasks from time to time, such as; making bread, sweeping, and washing clothes.
As much as Kris hated doing this, he knew someday he'd be able to get away from all of it and make something of himself. His mother told him to stop dreaming, saying, 'Only people in the royal family make it in life. The best you can hope to be is a stepping stone for them.' This didn't deter Kris; instead, it made him angry. Kris didn't like being told to stop trying to better himself and just accept his life as a peasant. He knew that one day he'd succeed. That's why, when Professor Cotton sent out the notice that he was handing out Pokémon to new trainers, Kris leapt at the opportunity.
RP Sample:Link. (old discontinued fanfic of mine) Starter Pokémon: Bagon
Appearance: Kyle is a child of a middle-class family, and as such, he must dress accordingly. For his journey, he is wearing a dark brown Norfolk Jacket, so that he isn't as restricted as he would be normally, and gray trousers. He is also wearing a brown bowler hat as well. He is wearing a gray waistcoat under his Norfolk jacket. His shoes are brown as well, and tougher to withstand the harsh roads.
Kyle himself isn't that bad looking. His skin is somewhat pale, but he doesn't burn in the sun, like others of his complexion. His hair is light-brown, and has been cut short as well, so it wouldn't get in his way. He also wears glasses, and its lenses are ovular in shape. His eyes are a bright blue, and his ears are somewhat large for his head. Kyle is about 4'10" tall, which is pretty short for a man of his age, always having to rely on others to get stuff for him. His frame is fairly thin as well. He isn't fat, nor is he muscular, only thin. His legs are short and thin, while his arms are a little long for how tall he is. His fingers are long as well. His fingernails aren't really kept up, so they look dirty.
He also wears a bracelet on his left arm, it is made of gold, and inscribed inside, away from view, are the words Kyle and Elise, symbolizing a relationship at his home. He also has a mark on his hat, due to something that happened with some paint before.
Personality: Kyle is an overall light-hearted person, who likes to rough it in the wilderness, which is why he finds pokemon training to be an appealing career. He also attempts to charm women with his words, but more often then not, he fails. Even having a wife, he still flirts, but is not serious in his attempts. To men, he acts cocky, confident, so that he can feel better about himself, while showing off his skills to others.
Kyle is a braggart as well, telling people about the things he did, even if no one's listening. He is afraid of large bodies of water, and does not want much to do with it, and another fear of his is to be locked up in prison, but he is not afraid to jump head first into a battle. A lot of people see this as a sign of stupidity, but he sees it as a sign of valor. To his wife, he is always kind and attempts to refrain from his flirtation, but he can't help himself at times. Despite his apparent attraction with every good-looking woman, he is indeed drawn to his wife the most.
History: Kyle was born to the Laurel family, a middle-class family that usually sent their kids on a journey, to let them collect money through battling others, and as soon as they settle down, they normally begin to work in crafts, like painting or metalworking. Chris was taught to paint at a young age, and is quite adept at it, not the best, but his paintings can sell. But with that, he hasn't had much time to see other people. He attempted to learn metalworking, but he couldn't get the grasp of it, so they taught him to paint. His older brother, Christopher Laurel who is but three years older then him always mocked him for being unable to do the family's metalworking, but as he got older, the taunts came less and less, and finally, three years ago, he went out on his own journey.
Kyle painted pictures to sell to people for money, earning quite a bit for his family, but despite his love for painting, he still wanted to go on a journey, partly to live outside, but partly to defeat his brother at something that they both could be good at. However, before he could go on his journey, he was told to stay so that they could solidify some sort of monetary position, or even make it into upper-class, so he stayed. At about the age of twelve, he met a girl named Elise, and she was of a middle-class family. They got to know each other, and eventually, Kyle was married to her, and at the age of seventeen, became a father of a pair of twins. Now Kyle is waiting to go on his journey, and to face his brother.
Three days before he went out, he received a letter from his brother, challenging him about a year later, which caused Kyle to get more excited about training. He felt sad to leave his family, but if he could win his challenge, he would be able to support his family better.

Spoiler:
Chapter 3: Clause: The Legend Hunter vs. Chris: Newbie Trainer!
Chris and Melissa walked down Route 2, not having really talked to each other. Neither had much to say to each other, so they didn't really want to start any conversations. But neither realized that Clause was right behind them.
'Hehehe… almost there… soon, Mesprit will be mine, and I'll be rich.' Thought Clause as he pulled out some sort of cube. 'This thing can hold any kind of Psychic pokemon, save for Gallade.' Clause smiled as he began to walk faster.
"Hey, do you hear something?" Asked Chris. Melissa looked back, having felt the presence of Clause and was unable to react as a small cube smacked her in the face before expanding around her, trapping her inside. "Melissa!"
"Chris, run away!" Exclaimed Melissa, but a hissing sound stopped the two from talking more. Chris looked to his left and saw Clause with an Ekans next to him, looking like it was about to attack anything that moved. "Get away before you get hurt!"
"I don't think so." Said Clause as he walked over towards Chris and Melissa. "No one is going anywhere, and I doubt there's anyone else here, so I'm going to make it simple, so that your puny brain can understand, kid. I am going to kill you, and there's nothing you can do."
"EKANS!" Hissed the Ekans, looking at Melissa, who glared back.
"Well, I may not know her that well, but I'm not going to let you kidnap her! Go, Trapinch!" Exclaimed Chris, sending out the ant-like pokemon. Clause looked at the pokemon before laughing. "What's so funny!?"
"You must be an idiot! Your pokemon is at Level 5! My Ekans is at Level 17! You won't win!" Laughed Clause, and even Ekans was amused by this prospect.
"Trapinch, Mud Shot!" Exclaimed Chris. Trapinch spat out a bunch of mud, hitting Ekans in the face.
"EKANS!" Hissed Ekans, it's eyes in pain from the attack.
"Now use Bite!" Exclaimed Chris, pointing at Ekans. Trapinch jumped up, but Ekans opened its eyes.
"Use Wrap!" Exclaimed Clause. The Ekans wrapped around Trapinch, and began to squeeze.
"No, Trapinch!" Exclaimed Chris before throwing a rock, hitting Ekans in the head, causing it to loose focus for a second, but that was all Trapinch needed as he bit the Ekans, causing it to let him go.
"Grr… this is starting to annoy me." Said Clause, glaring at Chris. "You won't win, and that's that." Clause began to walk over towards Melissa's cage, Ekans looking at Trapinch, waiting to attack. "Now, I believe I have a prize to sell." Clause grabbed the cage and lifted it up with little difficulty.
"Oh no you don't!" Exclaimed Chris as he ran up to Clause. Ekans rushed to stop Chris, but Trapinch bit the snake's tail, causing it to stop momentarily. "Take this!" Chris then punched Clause in the face, but Clause came back by hitting Chris with Melissa's cage, knocking him to the ground.
"Chris!" Exclaimed Melissa, and Clause began to laugh.
"I'm surprised you care about this kid, Mesprit. After all, aren't you supposed to be a legendary?" Asked Clause. Chris looked in confusion. "That's right, this ***** is a legendary pokemon! And my ticket to billions of dollars! There are a lot of people who would buy this thing! Pokemon collectors, Pokemon breeders, and the occasional sick minded person. But I don't care what happens to it, as long as I get my money." Both Melissa and Chris look at Clause in horror.
"You're going to sell me to some weirdo!? There's no way I'm letting that happen!" Exclaimed Melissa, but Clause pressed a button on Melissa's cage, sending a current of electricity through. "WAAAAAH!"
"GAH!" Exclaimed Chris as he dropped to one knee. "What was that!?"
"PIIINCH!" Exclaimed Trapinch as it landed next to Chris. "Tra… pinch."
"Face it, kid. You're done for!" Exclaimed Clause as Ekans slid up to its master. "No one is going to save you, no one is going to stop me, no one cares about you." Chris growled as Trapinch got up, injured quite badly, but still able to fight. "Ekans, don't just smash the opponent once, it won't go down the first time. Always hit a second, or third time, or else it will get back up again."
"EKANSSSSsssss." Hissed Ekans as it stared at Trapinch and Chris.
"I have to help! Psychic!" Exclaimed Melissa before sending through a psychic wave, but the cage blocked most of it. However, part of it hit the Ekans, weakening it enough so that Trapinch could stand a chance, however, Clause was too stunned to give an order.
"Trapinch, use Mud Shot!" Exclaimed Chris as Trapinch once again spit the mud at Ekans, but this time, it was able to knock out the snake.
"No! You little *****! You will pay for that!" Exclaimed Clause as he moved to electrocute her again, but Chris tossed a large rock at Clause, hitting him in the head, and causing him to drop the cage. Chris took this chance to run to the cage, but as he reached for the cage, Clause grabbed Chris by the arm and lifted him up.
"No… I was so close!" Exclaimed Chris as he hung in the air. Clause smiled.
"Yes, you're lucky I didn't bring my whole team." Said Clause before punching Chris in the stomach, and throwing him to the side, causing Chris to go into fetal position, holding his stomach. "Now die!"
"Trapinch, use Bite on Clause!" Exclaimed Chris. Trapinch jumped up to attack Clause.
"FOOL!" Exclaimed Clause as he knocked the Trapinch away. "A Level 5 pokemon can't really harm a human! They don't get strong enough until about Level 15!"
"Mud Shot!" Exclaimed Chris. Clause gasped as Trapinch shot mud at him, knocking him back. "Now Bite!" Trapinch jumped up and bit Clause on the shoulder.
"Get off of me!" Exclaimed Clause as he grabbed Trapinch and threw him off, tearing off part of his jacket in the process, showing that he did have some muscle underneath.
"Take this!" Exclaimed Chris as he punched Clause to the ground. He then ran to Melissa's cage.
"You're here!" Exclaimed Melissa. Chris smiled as he hit the 'Release' button, causing the top to slide off. Melissa climbed out of the cage.
"N-no…" Moaned Clause as he returned his Ekans. He got up and growled. "N-no one ever beats me… I-I'm supposed to b-be invincible!" He looked at Melissa and cursed. "D-****… it looks like I must retreat for now. Ekans, come back out!" He dropped the pokeball, but it never hit the ground, and instead smashed Clause in the face, knocking him onto the ground.
"You're not going to get away!" Exclaimed Melissa as she prepared to finish Clause off, but Chris got in her way. "Chris, why?"
"Despite what he did to us, he doesn't deserve to die. If you are Mesprit, then you can give a second chance. Everyone deserves one." Said Chris. Clause growled as he got up. "Let him go." Melissa looked at Chris, and sighed.
"Okay, but when he attacks again, don't expect this treatment." Said Mesprit as she stepped back. "I'm sorry, but I have to go now." Mesprit then disappeared.
"Heh, n-next time Chris… I will get my revenge for this. Just you wait." Said Clause as he began to limp towards Viridian City.
"And I'll be waiting, stronger." Said Chris as he sat down under a tree, to allow Trapinch to rest. "You did pretty good out there."
"Tra… pinch." Called out Trapinch as it laid down.
"Heh, yeah, let's get some rest, buddy." Said Chris, before smiling.
Description: Raydin is about five foot ten and very thin. He has Blond hair which he prefers to dye black as the night. It's combed neatly, which gives him a very dignified look. He has long arms and legs. His skin is fairly white, due to him not going outside very much. He has a scar going down his right cheek from a spearow attack that occurred when he was just a child. His eyes, which are normally hazel or green, tend to shift in color when he wears something in a color other than black or grey.
His normal outfit consists of a white shirt with a black vest. He wears long black pants with everything, no matter what kind of weather is currently occurring. He also has two pairs of loafers, one pair is black and one pair is brown. When the weather gets cold, he usually wears a large light grey jacket. In his vest pocket, he has an antique pocket watch that was passed down to him by his father, who received it from his father and so on. It no longer works, because he is too afraid to give it to a watchmaker to have it repaired. His face is cleanly shaven as he believes that no man or teenager should look like a vagabond.
Personality: Raydin is a calm person with a warm personality. He smiles quite a bit, and when he does get angry, it's for something big. He sticks with his family and friends, and is willing to fight for them until the end. He loves pokemon and he is glad that he will finally get his chance to have one. He likes to think of himself as an 'Enforcer of Justice', and he will often abandon whoever he is with just to help someone in need or attempt to stop a mugging. This reckless behavior has nearly gotten him killed on several occasions. Raydin hate evil people, even though he has never had a chance to prove it, as he has never been in contact with an 'evil' person.
He loves to read, which is shown by his many attempts to pull all-nighters just to finish a good book. His all time favorites are the Sherlock Holmes books, and he likes to think of him as a role model, even though Raydin doesn't smoke or solve murder crimes. He also loves to draw, even if he isn't good at it. In fact, he tried to draw a mudkip once, but it ended up looking like a ditto. He has been taught many…questionable skills by his parents, Eva and Phill Sear. Raydin loves to eat, but he hates being fat or overweight, which led to him being bulimic. If he realizes that he gorged himself or that he ate something really unhealthy, he will attempt to purge it from his system. It is actually a pet peeve of his if people bother him about it.
That pet peeve was stuck more and more, until it became too much for him. He now opens up to no one, except pokemon. He has learned to tell what they are trying to say by observing their body language, as that is one of the most important functions of the pokemon language. Raydin uses it to get the gist of their conversation, and he is usually fairly accurate at translating. He can only do it with local pokemon though, as he has had practice with no other species.
History: Raydin was born moments after his family entered the Buhar region. His parents always told him it was fate that allowed him to be delivered to them on the hour after they had 'escaped their past'. They refused to tell him what they meant by this, saying that it was over, and unnecessary to return to. Although they never did tell him their past, from the age of three to the age of 12, they taught Raydin how to lockpick, pickpocket, and even steal! These lessons went hand in hand with his gentlemen lessons, as they told him never to use the skills unless absolutely necessary, or if he was asked by someone 'of higher rank then him'. Raydin has carried these skills from the age of 3, and he was adept at them by the time he was 7.
When Raydin turned 6, he was enrolled in school. It was like a normal school, only it had Pokemon studies and etiquette classes. He excelled in both of them, as he was taught etiquette by his parents, and he absolutely loved the strange creatures known as pokemon. Raydin had often bonded with his parent's pokemon, two rattatas named Guido and Porkpie. They were old though, and they didn't provide much entertainment for him. His friend Sammy, a girl that was about 18, became friends with Raydin when he turned 8. Sammy had gotten her pokemon, a pachirisu about a year back, and she could not convince herself to actually start her journey. She became a breeder, befriending pokemon instead of battling them.
Raydin went to Sammy's daycare every day, just to hang out with the baby pokemon. It never mattered what kind of weather was occurring, or how much homework he had, he ALWAYS put time aside for Sammy's daycare.
When Raydin turned 13, he became exposed to health class. Yes, he saw how babies were made, he learned all about sex Ed, and none of it fazed him. What truly affected him was learning about eating a healthy diet. When they played the video about junk food and they showed the blob of fat, he was appalled and he swore off of greasy fatty foods forever. He has attempted to hold himself to that swear, but every time he tried, he was swayed by the unhealthy junk. Then they learned about eating disorders. They began talking about how bad it was for you, but Raydin didn't pay any attention to that. He had the solution to his problem.
He decided to become bulimic, and he no longer worried about what he ate, because he would just purge it from his body when he decided it was too unhealthy. This went on for four years before it was discovered by none other than Shelly. She told him that until he got everything under control, he was forbidden from going to her daycare. Raydin went to therapy, and he was declared 'cured' about six months later. Shelly 'tested' him by feeding him only Junk food for three months. He secretly took diet pills during this time, even though they didn't work completely. By the end of the three months, he had a small layer of fat over his ribs and stomach.
Shelly seemed satisfied, and she allowed him to return to the daycare. He obtained a part-time job there, and things have finally begun to look up. He has heard that there are going to be free pokemon given out, and he has decided to get one of his very own.

Spoiler:
Shierk stared around him. He was surrounded by everything, and nothing all at the same time. This thought scared him, and he gulped carefully as he tried to move himself around. It was like moving through quicksand while his body was weighed down with lead. "Urgh. W-Where am I?" Shierk asked as he continued struggling to move.
Shierk wasn't expecting it, so he was shocked when a voice replied to his. The voice was scratchy, and he couldn't tell If it was male or female. "Hello young officer. It is.....nice to see you." Shierk looked around him in confusion, his voice was shaky as he said "W-Who's here?" "Technically I am not there, nor am I anywhere, as is you." Shierk looked even more confused as he said "I don't get it..who are you? What is this place?" "You know who I am. I know who you are. Shierk." The voice said his name as if savoring it. "I have many things to...show you. First.. Your friend. Kreel I believe he was called. Watch young one, as I show you my power."
The scene around Shierk shifted, And he was at a place he had never seen before. There were large dark hallways, in a deep shade of gray. A large sign above him said 'Wel o e To P k r z! It was obvious that some of the letters were damaged, but he couldn't make out what they used to be. Shierk slowly spun around to see what was behind him and he gasped. "Kreel!" he shouted. But the small squirtle didn't hear him. It was as if he wasn't there. Next to the squirtle was a large Blastoise, male. He was standing in a defensive stance with Kreel holding the same stance next to him. The Blastoise tenseed, almost as if it could see something Shierk couldn't. The Blastoise began to speak. "Stop." The Blastoise's voice disappeared, for a moment, but Shierk could still see his mouth moving. The Blastoise continued, aiming the two cannons on his back at something Shierk could not see. "Back down now!" At once, a darkness enveloped everything, and a sense of foreboding grew in his stomach. Just before the darkness subsided, Shierk heard a scream of pain. When the darkness disappeared, Shierk had his eyes screwed shut, afraid to look at the scene that lay before him. But some force pried them open, and tears began to fall. on the floors in front of him were two empty shells. They were simple reminders, of the terror that had occurred.
Shierk turned away from the scene and he spoke again."No! Kreel!" Shierk knelt on the ground and wept into his claws, until he no longer could. He once again stood, with a look of anger on his face. "Are you Darkrai, or are you my subconciousness?" "I will leave that to you to decide. I could be your subconciousness, as you feared that something like this had happened to your friend. But I could also be Darkrai. Now how about a change of scene? Up next...." Shierk grimaced as the scene began to change.
"Your father." Shierk let out a small gasp as the scene began to change again. Shierk was now standing in a dark alley with trash thrown about everywhere. there were small weeds poking up through the cement, and in the center of it all were two figures.Shierk whimpered as he saw his father, a large Electabuzz with slightly grayed hair. The figure accross from him was a Large pink weavile, with a Golden Headdress.
Shierk whimpered again as he heard his father's voice. "Weavile! Turn yourself in now! Don't make me fight you!" The Weavile just smiled, and beckoned The electabuzz with its claws. The Electabuzz snarled at the weavile and said "You will regret this!" The Electabuzz held its hands a foot apart as a ball of energy began to form, building off of the electricity coming from his fingers. As the Electabuzz started to direct its energy at the weavile, The Weavile struck. Shierk couldn't see the attack, but he saw the result. Shierk watched the events in slow motion, as his father fell to the ground, his energy dissipating. Shierk watched The Weavile smirk, and saw him walk away, leaving Shierk's wounded father to die. All Shierk could do was weep.
"So. Are you ready for the next one Shierk? Or do you want to watch your dying father some more?" "Shierk's eyes narrowed, his fist clenched and he yelled at the voice furiously. "HOW DARE YOU! I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE! I JUST WANT TO LEAVE!" The voice paused. "No. I have more events to show you. On to the next one. You will like it I think."
Shierk was numb as the scene changed again, but he was shocked when he saw what was happening within it. He was back to everything and nothingness. Shierk looked at the scene in front of him, eyes wide. Fifty yards away there were two pokemon. An Arcanine, female. Her fur was matted, and some spots of it were sodden with a dark liquid. She was obviously in pain. Shierk didn't understand the pont of her until he saw her back leg, more importantly the anklet around it. "Rani." Shierk gasped and then looked at the pokemon next to her. It was an Electivire. Its tails were poised around Rani menacingly, blue tips crackling with energy. The Electivire touched the tails to Rani and she Screamed. Her voice was beautiful-more beautiful than he could ever imagine- but she was in pain. Horrible pain. Shierk began running Towards her as he screamed "R-R-RAAAANNIIII!!!" As he was running, Shierk noticed something. The Electivire had an X shaped scar between its eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*In the Real world*(Starting from the beginning of his nightmare.)
Almost immeadiately after Shierk had fallen asleep, he began to toss and turn. At one point he screamed "Kreel!" out to everyone nearby who could hear him. Tears began to flow from his eyes as he slept, he whimpered several times as the tears grew worse. in a final moment, His sleeping self yelled "R-R-RAAANIIII!!!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shierk continued to run towards the two pokmon when everything shifted. It was almost a flicker really, The everything nothingness flickered between places he'd never seen. A large crater, an Isle with a large high security building on it, and a few more random areas. The two pokemon were stillthere, but one of them shifted too. The Arcanine-Rani shifted into a magnificent Ninetales, but she too was injured just as Rani had been, and she was in pain as well. The Ninetales flickered to Rani and back. In between flickerings, Shierk noticed that the ninetales had white streaks in her tails.
In the real world, Shierk whispered "Rokan."
The sudden flickering caused Shierk to falter for a moment, but he continued running towards the Electivire a moment afterwards. When he was within 10 feet of the Electivire, The quicksand speed came back to him. Shierk attempted to use a quick attack, but he barely got enough momentum to hit the Electivire. The small attack knocked The Electivire back and inch, just enough to get the tails to disconnect from Rani/Rokan. They collapsed to the ground and vanished instantly, bringing Shierk instant relief. The voice rang again "Good job Shierk, but you will need to do better than that!" Two shadows came out from underneath the Electivire, and they began to form 3D sillohuettes. Shierk was now surrounded by Electivire, Weavile, and Bellsprout. All at once, Shierk was hit by Thunder punch, Night slash, and Razor leaf. Shierk screamed in pain and said "need help."
In the real world, Shierk's sleeping body grabbed Rokan's arm weakly and said the same thing.
Shierk forced himself to his feet as he looked around himself at his new foes. His two enemies and himself. At the moment he was alone. He began to fight, starting off with a three-way thundershock. It was a bad idea. The "Kreep" took the hit, barely wincing as he did so. It did a little better on the Weavile, as it flinched slightly. The worst one was the Electivire. The thundershock hit its body, and was absorbed. The Electivire started hopping from foot to foot, the electric attack activating its Motor drive and speeding it up. The three attacked him again, and his body spazzed, in this world and the real world.
Shierk coughed as he felt a warmth on his chest. He looked down at it, expecting it to be his own blood, but instead it was a small ball of fire. Stangely, it didn't burn him, and it began to spread all around his fur, coating his body in a thin layer of flame. Some of the quick sand slowness seemed to melt away, and he felt more powerful. As he looked up at the three pokemon around him, he noticed another pokemon outside of the ring. It was Rokan, She flickered freely from Vulpix to ninetales, with a worried look on her face. Shierk tore his gaze from her, and back into the battle.
Shierk felt a tightening sensation on his prongs and he began charging a thundershock, which had a small bit of fire mixed in. Shierk launched the Attack at The Bellsprout and the weavile, and watched as two intertwined beams of lightning and fire hit the two pokemon, causing them to disintigrate into dust. Shierk hadn't been paying attention to Electivire however and he was hit in the side by the most powerful thunder punch yet. Again he Spazzed in both worlds, and he gasped out, "Need....More..."
Shierk was collapsed on the floor with the Electivire walking closer and closer towards him. When Shierk realized that he was probably never going to see Rani or Rokan again, he whispered their names, and conjured up a mental picture of both of them. As Shierk finished his final goodbyes, he felt water hit his fur, which resulted in a large spark jetting off of his body in some random direction. Again he felt as if he were being recharged. Shierk stood up, and looked at his foe, but more importantly at the poke'mon behind her. Rani stood there, freely shifting from Growlithe to Arcanine. Shierk locked eyes with her and he heard "Wake up it's not real. Whatever you're seeing it's not real!"
Shierk took a step back. "What was that? Was that from this world, or the other one?" Shierk looked back at the Electivire that was just watching him, almost warily. Shierk looked at Rokan, and then at Rani, and felt the fire on his fur grow larger. All of the Quicksand melted away, and Shierk began running towards the electivire. He leaped towards it, and prepared to punch, with his fist covered in flame. Motor Drive was still in effect, and the Electivire easily dodged it. Shierk grimaced he could not land a hit unless someone helped him. The voice, which had been silent for a while said, "You will need the help of others to defeat yourself." Then something Shifted. It was as if Rani and Rokan were breathing chains of fire that tied down the Electivire, so Shierk could land a hit. Shierk noticed that The Electivire was on its knees so that it was level with Shierk. Shierk pulled back his flaming arm as he charged towards the Electivire. Shierk timed the hit perfectly, and The Electivire burst into flames, and the dream disintigrated.
In the Real world, Shierk's eyes flew open without warning. He pulled himself to a standing position and smiled at Rani and Rokan, before he collapsed of exhaustion.
To pikapip: Man why is everyone putting an exclamtion point after Get Back? Don't you know its a Beatles song...? Anywho great SU! I was worried before you were finished as Raydin seemed rather One-Dimenional, but thankfully you fixed that. One small problam (One I caused). There wouldn't exactly be any schools about Pokemon as being a Trainer is considered being super low-class and there wouldn't be any videos at all. Again thats my fault for not clarifing that so don't change it. You are accepted with a Totodile! (BTW incase you haven't figured it out, Totodile is my favorite Pokemon :D)
Between other players? I'm not forcing you too as some people use this type of roleplay to just do their own thing but if you want to you certainly can, as long as you clear it with the person you want to interact with first. Also first chapter should be up today! I'll also be participating in the RP now since no one's taken Elekid so my profile will be up with the OCC thread when it gets accepted.
Description:A rather small town situated between Magikarp Lake and the Fishing Outpost. All the residents here are either fishermen or have a business related to fishing which gives the whole town a fish-like smell. This is not a good thing. With its grey mesh of nets and hastily applied frame work of houses, it's anyone's why someone would want to live here. The one shining light of this town however is Prof. Cotton's laboratory.
He is the lead expert on everything Pokémon that's been discovered so far. A rather short man with a nice handlebar moustache and a rather nerdish pair of glasses on his face, you can't tell whether to take laugh at him or be intimidated. He is a rather blunt man when it comes to conversations and seems to care more for Pokémon than people, but loves to see the spirit of adventure burn within young trainers. He is currently in his lab, at the top of the highest hill in Hatchery Town awaiting the young trainers who will come to claim the new Starter Pokémon. He will also be giving out a small leather bound book to all the new trainers, something he calls a Pokedex, as well as steam powered ball like objects he calls Pokeballs. They are red on the top and white on the bottom with four small holes that release steam when the ball is being used.
(OOC: Just make a post about getting your stuff from Cotton and how you got there)
Appearance:
The first thing one would notice about Lucian is his height. He stands above many people, but even with his father at six feet two inches. His eyes are green, though he has been told they look almost gold in very bright sunlight. Many people adore his eyes because of this, though Lucian doesn't really care because they're just eyes. His skin is medium pale. Not sun-tanned and not very white like someone who barely gets out and about. As for his hair, Lucian prefers to keep it moderately long. He had to convince his father that it would not look girlish, so he takes very careful care of his hair. It is a brown color with natural sandy highlights. If he didn't comb it, his hair would be a complete curly mess. It falls to a bit above his shoulders currently.
For clothing, Lucian has some of the best. His pants are black suspenders that go to his clean black shoes. He wears a laundered and absolutely spotless white frilly shirt. Technically only the neck and cuffs are frilly, but otherwise Lucian doesn't know how to describe it. Over this shirt he wears a black jacket that goes to a bit above his knees. The buttons on his jacket are a shiny gold. Now back to his spotless shoes. Lucian's shoes are technically boots. They go all the way up to his knee. They turn out at the top, and his pants are stuffed down in the boots. So technically they reach the boots, it's just Lucian's boots are rather tall. They are made out of a fine soft material, which Lucian finds rather enjoyable.
He does not worry himself with accessories. Occasionally he will put a spare tie for his hair in the pockets of his jacket, but other than that simple object there is nothing. Yes, he has obtained multiple valuable trinkets in his life, but Lucian does not see the need to wear them unless he is going to some sort of fancy dinner thing.
Personality:
Lucian's one big stiff. He's quiet no matter who he's around. He doesn't trust anyone, ever. This is because of his people issues, which played a great part in shaping the "man" that he is. Lucian does indeed think of himself as a man because of the things he has seen, and will not let anyone else tell him otherwise. Lucian isn't the type to be mean for no reason to a person, however, he will simply be blunt and seemingly standoffish. Truthfully he would enjoy getting close to a person, but he keeps that wish locked deep within himself. If someone would try to get him to admit it, he would most likely tell them to please get away from his personal life. Lucian does try to be polite and well mannered, even if he is telling someone to back off indirectly.
Lucian is rather bold as well. It fits with his stubborn attitude, so they probably went hand and hand when he grew up. If a challenge is presented to him, Lucian will refuse to back down until said challenge has been solved (by him). That being said, Lucian is also a fairly smart person. He's cunning and clever, but not to an extreme point. The level of brainpower he currently has is probably from his schooling as a child through his teen years. Lucian is rather proud of the fact that he is pretty well rounded in terms of his abilities. The only thing he can't seem to bring himself to want to do is take the time to actually learn these skills. Though he is a moderately fast learner (which shows through his abilities), he detests the learning process because he generally finds it dull.
History:
Lucian, though he hates admitting it, was mostly pampered throughout his life. His father was the owner of some rich company, so through that Lucian benefited (or he didn't, if one would wish to view it that way). Sure, Lucian didn't turn out snobby (though he may sometimes come off that way), but he did learn to trust in the more refined things of life. That, of course, is not always a good thing. Anyway, Lucian's mother had sadly passed in an attempt to have another child. Both Lucian's mother and unborn sister died. Lucian was roughly six years of age, and that was the first time he learned not to love someone so much. The pain was just unbearable.
As he grew, Lucian continued to be taught by his private tutors. His father said that school was for poor people, and that he wanted Lucian to be properly educated so he could one day take over the company. Lucian never really had much experience with Pokemon, but it was something that made him curious. Often times he would see them from the window of the room he was studying in and wonder what made them so great. Of course, his father said that Pokemon were just play things and unacceptable for a young man to play with. So, Lucian smothered that curiosity as best he could and focused (well, as much as he could manage anyway) on his studies.
When he was fourteen, Lucian made friends with a girl. She was poor as dirt, but Lucian found her fun. She was truthfully the reason he got introduced to Pokemon. When his father found out, however, Lucian was forbidden to see her. Once a week at night he would sneak out and play with her and the little Pidgey that was often in her company though. Soon his father learned of this, and Lucian was punished. The girl (because she lived on Lucian's father's grounds) and her family were banished. Lucian felt true hurt in this, and soon closed himself off to his father. He vowed to never trust another person again in his life.

Spoiler:
Once the ball had stopped moving, Selene had found herself smirking. She had caught the shiny rock, and there was no way she was giving him up. Jake's arms were crossed and he was frowning silently, though Selene couldn't tell why. She tucked the Aron's Pokeball away, deciding that she'd nickname him later. She then recalled her rather happy looking puppy and turned to Jake. His features brightened, though Selene was wondering if he was just doing that so she wouldn't inquire.
"Celestic Town?"
Selene nodded, and they took off.
From what she had gathered from Sahib before she had left, Celestic Town would be a nice peaceful little town with not much to do. So, obviously, Selene planned on getting her Pokemon healed and just leaving. She had better things to do than just wait around after all, didn't she? However, when they emerged from the tunnel this was obviously not the case. There was a happy feeling about, and it seemed a great deal of commotion was going on in the center of town. From the high point they were at and even through the fog, Selene could tell there was some sort of fair happening. She grinned. She hadn't been to a fair since she was a baby which, of course, she couldn't remember.
"Jake, look at that," Selene squealed. She was growing excited as she smelled the foods.
Jake nodded vaguely. "Let's go heal our Pokemon real quick, and then we can go have some fun."
Selene glanced at him, and had a brief moment where she wondered what his definition of 'fun' was. Then she followed him to the Pokemon Center.
After their Pokemon had been healed, Jake seemed to brighten up considerably. He practically dragged Selene to the fair at a quick pace. Selene thought that he seemed like a little kid. Jake's greenish gold eyes were bright with excitement, and a giant grin was plastered on his face. Though Selene did wonder if Jake was bipolar, she shook her head and just let him pull her along anyway. She was excited too, but for her she wasn't the type of person who really showed it very well.
"We have got to go on the Ferris Wheel first," Jake said quickly. Selene could barely make out what he was saying, but when she heard "ferris wheel" she immediately paled. "Then we can go get some food and stuff."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Selene said, digging her heels into the ground. "I am in no way going near that evil monster," Selene declared, looking towards the rather tall thing. She could hear the damned thing creaking from where she was standing, for Pete's sake! "It looks like it's about to fall over!" Selene whined. Jake began dragging her again. Obviously this was easy for him, because Selene wasn't exactly difficult to drag along. "Jake!"
"What?" He didn't stop his path to the Ferris Wheel.
Selene glared at him silently. In all truth, she was a bit afraid of heights. It wasn't something major, but still. She also had never been really fond of Ferris Wheels, especially after her mom had told her of her own fears. So as she trailed after Jake (who was still dragging her along), Selene felt herself silently going green. She had a bad feeling. This Ferris Wheel was practically half broken down anyway. It wasn't shiny and new, of course not. Selene swallowed heavily and almost audibly. Jake was paying no heed to her as he dragged her up to the platform and stuck her on the inside. He declared that he wanted the outside.
Selene couldn't help the awful queasy feeling that was growing in her stomach. She swallowed heavily as it went up a bit. She could hear the friggin' thing groan! Selene scooted closer to Jake and was practically clinging to his arm in less than a minute. Jake was still grinning. Selene sort of wondered if he was just grinning because of the fact that she was freaking out. Soon the Ferris Wheel began to move again. The seat they were in kept swinging back and forth, and Selene really didn't like that. She swallowed heavily and snapped her eyes shut tight. Suddenly it stopped. Selene relaxed. The ride was over! She opened her eyes and then felt like she was going to be sick. They were at the very top. Jake glanced at her and started to snicker.
"It's not funny! I hate these things," Selene grumbled. She glared off into the distance, refusing to look down and get queasy again. Jake peered at her from underneath his longish bangs.
"Aw, come on," he said. Jake poked her playfully. "It's not that bad. This thing might look old and rickety, but it runs just great! So stop being a baby and enjoy yourself. I mean seriously, look at the view." With that, Jake pointed off in the distance.
Selene glanced around. She had to admit, it was pretty. The fog enhanced the town. Though it was very thin and only just came from the mountains and pass, Selene could still note the beauty. She saw the mountain in the distance, and sighed. This wasn't so bad. She still refused to stop clinging to Jake's arm though, because she had a very adamant fear that the Ferris Wheel was going to suddenly break down with them on it. Selene gulped but tried to hide her fear.
The rest of the morning and to the early afternoon was spent with them going around and looking at the vendors. They also got some food and such, but other than that it was all. Selene was planning to enter one of the Pokemon contests, but she couldn't decide which. Jake had said that he was going to go enter Nidoking in one of them, so Selene suggested that they meet up at the Pokemon Center. Jake had agreed, and then he had went off to his contest. Selene slurped on her drink as she pondered what contest she was going to enter. She then pushed up from the picnic table she had been sitting at and walked off to the contest. She had figured it out. Seeing as it was near two, she was going to enter Kenai in a race. She grinned. He'd be good at that.
The first thing Selene saw was the large fenced perimeter of a grass patch. Selene picked up something at an information desk, and saw the course that her Pokemon would have to run. It was straight, then a sharp u-turn straight back. It didn't seem to be too difficult, other than the fact that it was very long. Selene grabbed Kenai's Pokeball and registered him in. Upon releasing him, she began to look at the other Pokemon that Kenai would be up against.
There was a horse with fire on it standing a Pokemon down. Selene recognized it as a Ponyta, the preevolution of a Rapidash. It was a fast Pokemon. Selene looked at the next. It was a Sneasel. Selene frowned. She remembered hearing that Sneasel were rather tricky, so she decided to leave that as a mental note for later. Then there was Kenai, of course. Finally there was a Grovyle It looked rather uncaring, but Selene knew that Treecko were pretty fast.
"In the first lane, we have Danice with her Pokemon Ponyta!" the judge suddenly announced. People began to cheer happily. "In the second lane we have Erik with his Sneasel!" Once more, the judge paused for the cheering. "In our third lane is Selene and her Growlithe!" People cheered once more, and Selene felt herself smile in spite of the attention. "Finally we have Treecko in lane four with its trainer Andy!" The judge paused, cleared his throat, and then continued, "Now...no foul play is encouraged. The race will begin when the gunshot sounds."
Selene smirked a bit. It wasn't encouraged, no. That didn't mean it was like illegal though.
Kenai wagged his tail furiously as the people cheered. He was excited. Selene was entrusting him to win this race and, possibly, a nice prize for her! He growled at the Treecko who continued to stare at him. The Treecko snorted and looked away. Kenai huffed and stared down the long lane. He was focusing so hard he almost jumped when his master crouched next to him and whispered in his ear. He could attack if he had to. Kenai barked happily and his tail wagged harder. Maybe, just maybe, if he won this for her she would use that fancy fire stone on him and make him stronger! Oh, how Kenai wanted to grow stronger. He wanted to beat that boy with the green eyes and the friendly face. He smelled funny. Kenai didn't like him.
Kenai wasn't focused, so when the gunshot sounded he gave a started cry and ended up basically charging after the others. They hadn't gotten too far by the time Kenai had caught up, so Kenai figured he had some time to think about beating that over friendly boy while he was running. What was that guy's name again? It was some weird human talk. Kenai snorted, and nearly tripped when that evil Treecko suddenly shot a funky attack in his direction. Kenai snarled and unleashed a plume of fire. Treecko had to pause to dodge, and that caused it to lose precious time on his race.
It was time to focus. Kenai saw that the Sneasel was trailing just a little ways behind him, almost three feet in front of the Treecko. Kenai wasn't too worried about either of them; it was the Ponyta that was concerning him. The horse was crazy! It just kept pushing itself faster, so each time Kenai sped up it would pull ahead by just enough to beat him. Kenai was panting now. They turned the u-turn, and luckily for Kenai his claws made the turn easier. The Ponyta scrambled, but managed to charge in after Kenai. Sneasel and Treecko trailed after, desperately trying to catch up while attacking each other at the same time.
Kenai saw his master at the end. She was pumping her fist and calling his name. Kenai barked happily and charged forward. He refused to be beaten by some overgrown pony. Kenai glanced at the Ponyta. He knew it would be close, so Kenai decided to let it lose. He growled and suddenly burst into flames, his speed increasing as he unleashed the flame wheel. People parted as Kenai leaped past the finish line and skidded to a halt. His body slowly burnt out of the flames. Kenai whipped his head back to look at Selene, and found her to be grinning. Kenai wagged his tail furiously. Now he was a good boy.
Luccoiola had been walking down a dusty road on his way to Hatchery Town because he didn't have the money to get himself there any other way so walking was his only option and with glassy fields as fair as the eye could see and only a dusty road to lead the way Lucciola knew he had a long journey ahead of him, so he continued walking but it wasn't long before he heard a carriage coming his way so without looking stepped off of the path to get out of the way so as not to be trampled over by horses. And as the carriage went past Lucciola had an idea that if he jumped on the back of the carriage where the bags usually sit he'd have a better way to travel and from the looks of it they were heading the same way he was or at least in the same direction, so he started running up behind the carriage and made a jump for the baggage shelf which he was thankfully able to grab and prop himself up on it.
Once on the back of the black and gold carriage Lucciola placed his bag against a small wall beside him and used it as a pillow as he laid down and propped his feet up on the other side of the baggage shelf while he allowed the driver to take him all the way to Hatchery Town in splendor and style, which is something he's never really done before and the fact he was riding in the back of it free of charge pretty much meant this was as close as he was going to get to riding in style. But he thought he'd take advantage of it and closed his eyes in till they got to town and while he was asleep he dreamed of all the adventures he'd have with his new pokemon, though he didn't have any actual visual aids to go on as many of the things he knew of the world came from books he'd read in his spare time or at home. Unfortunately he was knocked awake by the carriage going on a gravel road that ended up being that bumpy that he was thrown off the back of the carriage and onto the ground below but he was thankful to have his bag follow him, as he got up from the ground Lucciola dusted himself off and picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder then looked around where he'd landed.
And upon inspection the town he was in looked like a dank village with mostly wooden buildings and nets spread periodically over balconies or shop fronts while some places had stalls out in the open with fresh fish placed on ice and the fishy smell didn't help the look and feel of the place but he knew he was in the right place, at least from the description he found in a travel book he glimpsed at before heading off and thankfully it told him that the one place that would stick out would be Professor Cotton's laboratory. So he walked down the gravel road with his bag over his shoulder and having to adjust his newsboy cap which had gone slightly off centre because of the fall, then he continued to look at the quint little town that reminded him of town in a book he once read that told of far away ports that did nothing but fish.
Soon he'd walked around half the town taking in the sights of wooden buildings, fishing nets, boats and the odd mean looking sailors or fishermen many of which gave him a nasty look because he seemed so out of place even in a town like this but as he got to the far end of town he found a building that looked very different from the others he'd seen previously, which the fact it wasn't made of wood was a fairly dead give away but so was the fences and clean looking appearance of it in general as it seemed a little grey but still clean and polished almost. Lucciola walked up the paved path that seemed to extend to the entrance of the fence line and to the big wooden door which Lucciola knocked on using the large brass knocker that was hanging on it, after hearing a loud come in Lucciola opened the door and saw what looked like something out of a Jules Verne novel.
The place had test tubes and all kinds of scientific things that were way past even Lucciola's knowledge of things and he's read a lot of books so it surprised when he saw things he had absolutely no clue about, but he chalked it up to no real schooling and continued walking down through the grey building till he saw a short man with glasses sitting at a desk. He was playing with some kind of machinery that Lucciola wasn't sure about but figured it was important "Ah sorry to bother you, I'm Lucciola and I came here to pick up the pokemon Trapinch" kindly expressed Lucciola as he approached the desk while trying not to cause any trouble. And the man stopped what he was doing and looked at Lucciola while adjusting his glasses a little "Yes Yes, Lucciola you're one of those new trainers I've been expecting, and you're the first to arrive lucky you" replied Professor Cotton who then got up from his chair and started tinkering with a draw not far behind him.
After a few moments of the man rummaging through the draw he turned back around and placed about seven items on the table in front of Lucciola, one was a leather bound book with a tie around it which had pokedex written in beige letters on the front of it while the other items were six strangely called balls. The top side were red while the bottom was white and they seemed to have a few holes around the edges of them for some reason, and while Lucciola was looking at these strange items Cotton picked up the one pokeball that had been set aside from the others. "Here is your pokemon Lucciola, I expect you to take good care of him and raise him well" commented Cotton who then handed the ball directly to Lucciola, who took it in his hand and looked at it with amazement because he didn't know pokemon could fit in such small little devices. "The book you see is to record any and all information you find out about pokemon on your journey and the balls will help you catch and hold other pokemon" explained Professor Cotton.
So with the excitement of meeting his new traveling companion Lucciola pressed the button on the front of the ball and in a bust of steam the Trapinch appeared on the desk and kinda resembled a scary looking pinkish brown ant with jaws, "Trapinch, Trapinch" exclaimed the pokemon as it looked at Lucciola "I have no idea what you just said mate but I'm Lucciola and I hope we can have lots of fun and adventure together" expressed Lucciola with a smile. He then looked back at Cotton "Thank you sir, I promise I'll take good care of him and do my best to become the best trainer there is" added Lucciola as he shook Cotton's hand, he then put all the items that were on the desk in his bag but left Trapinch's pokeball to be put in his pocket.
Then he bid his farewells to the man and motioned for Trapinch to follow him "Trap, Trapinch" replied the pokemon as it jumped off the desk and followed Lucciola to the door of the building, then Lucciola and Trapinch exited the building and headed down the path back into the dank old town below. And even though Lucciola knew that trainers weren't often liked in popular society he wanted to keep Trapinch beside him for the time being, so they walked along the gravel road and towards the dock for a chance to sit down and think of their next destination.
(OOC - sorry about that mate, I kinda rushed it a little and it was early in the morning so I kinda wasn't all there, I hope this is better)
To Lucciola: Ehhh...mmm...Ok. So your post was fine for the first post but its just got some problems. 1) It kinda happened fast. One second he's arrived in town, the next he's walking around town with Trapinch. How did he get there, what did he think of the town, why did he not have money? Let the reader know a little about your character. If I didn't have your SU I wouldn't know who Lucciola is. 2) You have a problem with run on sentences. This is a problem that everyone has and I know I certainly have it. Take a look at your first sentence to see what I mean. 3) Practically NO description. What does the town look like, what did the Pokeball look like, what was the Pokedex look like, what was Trapinch like, what exactly was the sound Trapinch made like? (Signiture Trapinch sound ain't gonna cut it here; I'm fine with it just going "Trapinch") Just some more detail would be good. Last thing: Cotton dosen't know any of the trainers or what their backgrounds are like. He only knows names and what Pokemon they want. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear. It just seems odd that Cotton would be like "Oh here you guy that is lower class though I just met you!" I'm very very sorry if it seems like I'm just cutting you down on what you may consider nit-picking but there are some major problems that definitly need to be fixed in later posting. But this is why God invented first posts so you can learn from mistakes and become better for it.
Lucciola recieved a Level 5 Trapinch, 5 Pokeballs, and a Pokedex!
