Rookidee is a pretty good Pokémon to have, since it has the advantage against Milo's Grass-types if Scorbunny wasn't your starter.

The bird is also pure Flying-type, which is a first for early route bird Pokémon.

Pure Flying allows it to resist Fighting-Type moves, which not many first route bird Pokémon are known for, barring the Wingull line and Fletching's evolutions.
