I think the hardest starter to use is probably Chikorita.

I've found that the grass type Pokemon always seem to be harder... especially Treecko and Chikorita. The Gyms just become a bit more insane to beat without extra training.

I always choose a specific pokemon in every series, and I will admit that the grass type(Chikorita) is harder without extra training. But what's t'problem with that. All it means is that your pokemon's stronger

In answer to yours, I would take a starter with me. There's a clue in the name. STARTER, so, you'd need to have one. I'd take Chikorita, as to why:\, I don't know, I just would.
