The possibility of DLC

    On June 15th we got the 3rd patch for Pokken Tournament. It came with several changes to the playable Pokemon and some support Pokemon. However, rumors have begun to circulate that there was more to this patch than that. Data miners have supposedly found data that points to there being DLC characters in the works, specifically Scizor and Darkrai. Looking at the character select screen (assuming you have Mewtwo and Shadow Mewtwo unlocked), there appears to be space for another 4 Pokemon.

    Of course, these sort of claims should always be taken with a grain of salt, though these rumors do turn out to be true sometimes.

    So do you think that we really be getting DLC for Pokken? Is this a good or bad thing for the game? If true, do you think that Scizor and Darkrai will be good additions to the roster? Who else would you like to see?
     
    It's certainly possible, and I really hope it happens! Though those wouldn't be my choice to add.

    Not keen on Darkrai being added at all, I imagine it being like a cross between Gengar and Shadow Mewtwo and just too powerful and tricksy! Bug could do with being represented and Scizor is popular so that kinda makes sense (just Heracross needs to happen!) and Empoleon... no strong feelings either way. We still need Normal and Rock Battle Pokemon I think, are we missing any others?
     
    If Darkrai will actually be added, I will be SO HAPPY! He is (and has been since he was first released) amongst my top six favorite Pokemon! Like Spoonette said, he would probably be similar to Gengar, but there are plenty of differences they could add! First, I hope he has a great Dark Void combo-starting move; it'd be foes to sleep and allow you to get a few free hits in. Secondly, I hope he has a move where he hides in the shadows and comes up to attack... The possibilities are endless!

    Adding Scizor seems like a no-brainer to me. He's an awesome-looking Pokemon, he has awesome stats in the main games, and I predicted he'd be added in one of the older threads here... Go Scizor!

    All of that said, I'm still crossing my fingers for Chansey and Swampert! :)

    That's a good point, sleep themed moves could be pretty interesting!
     
    It's Pokken, so they should atleast add in hitmonlee or hitmonchan.... As for other Pokemon, maybe use Celebi and have it do time reversing attacks...? Mr. Mime that would do reflectiove based attacks and Physical/Psychic Attacks..? Just some ideas.
     
    I think if anything they will hold back any announcements or at least releases until after EVO since nobody would allow new characters to be used anyway. They just finished a balance patch and bringing the arcade version up to date on content with the Wii U game so maybe they have something planned. I don't care about type spreads or fighting types though as long as they make something that stands out.

    I liked the demo but my fiancé was obsessed with it. She was constantly playing the demo and I know she really wants it now so I might have to budget so I can get it. Ill probably never see the wii u again though...

    I just want you all to know if you check Pokken's Twitter they announced they are showcasing new battle Pokemon(s) on July 14th and releasing them o July 20th so it could be one of those 3 or all 3 of them so yeah the possibility just became reality because we are getting DLC. (Or besides it being DLC Harada might pull a Tekken which there is a high chance he will he might just Patch them in)

    I can't read Japanese but it does seem like they're to reveal new characters on one of those days.
