My first member was Baloo, the Chimchar. And after reaching Sandgem Town, I ran back ro ute 201 and caught Manford, the Starly.

In route 202, a Shinx named Devon joined the team, and together we went all the way to Oreburgh City with no problems.

Baloo and Manford evolved and we beat the first Gym!

Well, just Slies and Gryffs for now... Until Valley Windworks! Captured a Shellos named Gary who was sorted into Ravenclaw! Unfortunately, he died during level up.

In Eterna Forest though, another Sly joined the team: Diana, the Budew!

Mt. Coronet gave us a Bronzor named Igor, who was sorted into Gryffindor.

Gardenia was a piece of cake for Slytherin, and the house is in lead with 2 Gym battles won!

I'm not entirely sure what the GIFT clause is. Does this mean no gift-Pokemon, or gifts don't count as first location encounter? Anyway, I never liked using gift-Pokemon in Nuzlockes, including starters (I "give them back" to the Professor after catching my first encounter), so I'll add that as an additional rule if this doesn't contradict the main rules.

Ah, my heart...

Sia, the Gligar, died to a Self-Destructing Geodude... God, how I hate those.

Carrying on, we got to Hearthome City, and after a bit of training, we went to the gym.

The gym battle was entirely Gryffindor's, highlights to everyone. Igor and Xander survived with bits of health though... Our 3rd badge is on hand!

The Prisoner of Azkaban​

Now we can't buy items in Marts! Hurray!

But I was smart enough to stock up some medicine before the gym battle, so we are set for the heat.

A new catch on Route 209, a Bibarel named Levee!

Route 210 gifted me with another self-exploding Geodude, but we're fine this time. And in Route 211 a Kadabra, called George, joined!

Both went to Ravenclaw.

A Gastly from Lost Tower is caught! His name is James and he is the first Hufflepuff member!

I returned to Hearthome and trained Levee and George so they could stick with the team.

In Ruin Maniac Cave, I caught Pepe, the Geodude. And in Route 214, Leela, the Rhyhorn. They went to Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, respectively.

I'm now at Veilstone, and a gym battle awaits. Maylene starts with Meditite and me with George, which I then realized was a big mistake, but it was too late. George was deceased. I had to switch out to Levee, and he beat Meditite, but with the obvious type disadvantage, died to Machoke. Gryffindor is my only hope now, so I sent out Xander. Machoke went down, but Lucario is now a problem.

I had nothing strong against it, so Gryffindor had to use their pure force. An attack-raising Metal Claw scared me, and I'm so glad that I bought those Super Potions. Spammed them on Xander while I hoped Lucario missed a Metal Claw. I decided to switch out to Igor, but it was a mistake, because Lucario healed himself with Drain Punch. So i switched back to Xander and somehow, he defeated the wolf. A A very bloody badge was obtained.

SUON'S POTTERLOCKE CHALLENGE
ON POK?MON PLATINUM

I restarted this game twice already. In both cases, my first Pok?mon (Bidoofs) fainted almost immediately after catching them, causing me to black out.

PROLOGUE: THE DURSLEY ERA​

No magic allowed! Don't use any Special moves and no sorting yet, so Pokemon can all fight on one team.

As always, I start this game by choosing a boy and naming myself SUON. My friend/rival's name is TOM.

At Route 201 we meet Professor Rowan and his assistant, Dawn. He offers us a Pok?mon to start a journey with. I refuse his offer, but he insists that I at least use the Piplup to catch my first Pok?mon with. So, after some more introductions and finally receiving some Pok?balls, I manage to catch my first Pok?mon:

I catch two more Pok?mon:

Met at level 3 on route 201

Hermione the Starly
Met at level 2 at Lake Verity

I train all three of them (Ron can only attack with Bide. Very risky and therefore used a lot of swapping, but I managed without letting him faint) and Ron evolves at level 10 in a Kricketune.

We reach Jubilife City, receive a Town Map and the Poketch, and meet Looker. Then we head north, out of the city, and catch two more teammates.

Unfortunately, Lucius only knows a Special Attack move, so for now I can only train him by swapping out until we get our first badge.

Since we can't go further north, I go back to the city and head east. Here I battle against rival TOM, but without problems. I also catch two more Pok?mon:

Met at level 5 in Oreburgh Gate

I make it to Oreburgh, but can't battle the Gym yet. First, I have to find Roark, the Gym Leader. I find him in the mines, where I also catch my 8th partner:

I can't use any special attacks against Roark, so Luna and Lucius have no advantage. I decide to train first at route 207 and come up with a strategy. Maybe I'll catch a Machop. My first encounter, however, is:

Not too bad either. But now I don't have any heavy hitters to beat Roark with ease. So, I guess I'll just have to use some luck.

THE GYM BATTLE

My team: Neville, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Severus, Olympe
His team: Geodude, Onix, Cranidos

I start with Severus against his Geodude, using Intimidate to lower it's attack. Then, I switch to Ron. The Rock Throw Ron receives does about 40% damage.

I use 3x Growl to lower it's attack even more and heal when necessary. Now, the Rock Throw don't hurt too much anymore. I give an X Attack to Ron, heal one more time, and start with Fury Cutter.

After 5 successful hits, Geodude faints. Ron has 7HP left, but healing would've ment that Fury Cutter lost its build up power.

I keep Ron in the ring when Roark chooses Onix, hoping Ron is fast and strong enough to OHKO him. And indeed, one Fury Cutter is enough to slay Onix.

Roark sends out Cranidos. I decide to swap Ron now, before his luck runs out, and send out Olympe.

Cranidos is way faster, but only uses Pursuit. Olympe's Rock Throws do more damage, and therefore we win the first badge without any casualties!

I'm really enjoying this so far, but that's probably since nobody died yet. I'll play a bit more tonight.

We head to the Valley of Windworks to catch our next Pok?mon. We run into a Shellos, but I wasn't really paying attention and had Ginny out. Hoping to be able to do some damage, I tackle it, but Shellos immediately replies with a Water Pulse. Ginny survives, merely, but we have to run. No catch here.

I try to go back to heal, but bad luck hits me. A Buizel appears, with my injured Ginny still out. I run, but Buizel uses Pursuit and kills Ginny without mercy...

A basilisk is running around petrifying students! Any Pokemon afflicted with the SLEEP condition in battle must be boxed at the end of the battle, and cannot be taken out until the 3rd gym badge is obtained.

With the 2nd badge in my pocket, I head to the Team Galactic Building and start beating up Grunts. Unfortunately, one's Kadabra turns out to be very troublesome, and kills my beloved Hermione with a powerful Psybeam!

Not much later I meet with Dawn, who gives me an Item Finder App and, most importantly, a VS. Seeker. This is definitely a valuable item if I want to keep rotating my team.

After Harry and Carlo, Bellatrix is my 3rd Psychic-type. That doesn't normally happen to me in Nuzlockes... Let's see how I'm gonna use them in my team.

I do a lot of training using the VS. Seeker, and Lucius, happy fellow as he is, evolves in a Roselia. I accidentally overlevel Luna (Slytherin), and therefore she'll be benched for the next gym match. And unless things change dramatically in the future, I think Arthur is gonna be nothing more than my HM Slave.


THE GYM BATTLE

My team: Ron, Lucius, Olympe, James, Hagrid
Her team: Duskull, Haunter, Mismagius

I don't have any super effective moves I can use, so I'll just have to rely on pure force. I start of with Lucius and a GrassWhistle, which hits at the first try. I set up a few Growths and then hit with Giga Drain. Duskull faints immediately. Haunter doesn't, but it's close. She uses a Confuse Ray, and then heals the second round. Despite confusion, I use another Growth during her healing turn, and use Giga Drain again, this time KOing Haunter. Also Mismagius can't fend off Lucius' powerful Giga Drain, and the third badge is therefore mine!

3. THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN

Sirius Black is on the loose and all Hogsmeade trips are banned! The PokeMart cannot be used until the next gym badge is obtained.

I've got 3 badges now and new rules are into play. But of course, I forgot to plan and never went to the shop before I got the badge...

I continue my way. In the gate East of Hearthome I get surprised by Rival Tom. I still have Lucius first, which means I can fight with Ron and Olympe too, and win the fight without any casualties.

On route 209 I fail to catch a new partner since I only run into dupes (I have a bit of an unwritten rule that after 3, 4 dupe encounters in a row, I can't catch anything in that route). In the Lost Tower however, I do find a new Pokémon:

The double battles in this game are killing us. Literally! I could only use Hagrid, Severus and James against the 6 Pokémon in this battle. James was not strong enough to survive and sacrificed his life to assure a win.

I did reach Veilstone with a new Pokémon, however. Hagrid evolved in a Machoke.


THE GYM BATTLE

My team: Sirius, Hagrid, Harry, Luna, Ron, Olympe
Her team: Meditite, Machoke, Lucario

To be honest, I did remember which Pokémon she would use, but not what levels. I actually thought they would be of a little lower level, otherwise I would have trained a bit better.

Anyway, I started the fight with Sirius and OHKO'd her Meditite. She sends out Machoke, which surprised me and got me thinking that it probably knows a Rock attack, so I swapped to my own, Hagrid. I time Revenge and Seismic Toss right to KO his Machoke. Her last Pokémon, Lucario, uses one Force Palm, which leaves Hagrid with 3HP, but our Revenge OHKO's Lucario, enough for badge #4!

There's actually not much happening between the 4th and the 5th badge, except for some new routes to catch new Pok?mon, and new trainers to battle. I still had Sirius out in the first trainer battle, so he's the Triwizard Champion.

Some great additions, especially type wise.

Sirius battles many trainers around, but I skip as many as possible for after the gymbattle. Nonetheless, Sirius is now of a way higher level. The grass on route 214 however, is a great place to train Luna, and she evolves in aGolduck.

After I've conquered the next gym, I'll probably be grinding like hell again...

In front of Pastoria's Gym, Tom challenges me to a battle. His Staravia is dangerous and almost killed both Sirius and Hagrid, but with some potions they barely survive. His other Pok?mon are thankfully manageable.



THE GYM BATTLE

My team: Sirius, Hagrid, Harry, Luna, Ron, Katie
His team: Gyarados, Quagsire, Floatzel

Of course, I start off with Sirius. His Gyarados has Intimidate, so my attack is lowered by one stage. I decide to use 6 Double Teams and heal where necessary. Gyarados seems to possess excellent accuracy however, and keeos hitting me with Waterfall. I keep healing and Wing Attacking until it finally faints.

Sirius stays in battle against Floatzel, which is faster. Double Team finally pays off, because they never manage to get a hit with Ice Fang, while I keep attacking with Wing Attack.

Quagsire misses his first Rock Tomb, but one hit could possibly kill Sirius, so I swap to Hagrid, who easily gets the job done. Another victorious gymbattle, and finally a chapter without casualties!

Unfortunately, after 57 hours and 39 minutes of playing, I failed this challenge... :(

Tragedy struck a few times in the "Order of the Phoenix"-chapter, where I wasn't allowed to use any items.

First, I did a lot of grinding after I got the 5th badge. The VS Seeker is a fantastic item for this, and so are some routes with decent Pokémon for experience. When I had a few teammembers up to a decent level, I continued to go north of route 210. Here is where I fought Ace Trainer Ernest and lost 3 of my Ace Pokémon:
- Garrick the Girafarig @lvl 34
- Molly the Houndoom @lvl 35
- Hagrid the Machoke @lvl 35

This meant I had to go back, get new Pokémon out of the PC, and go back to training again. After more hours of grinding, I went on and reached Celestic Town, where I fought against Team Plasma's Cyrus. I lost 3 Pokémon again:
- Bellatrix the Gardevoir @lvl 39
- Nick the Haunter @lvl 40
- Fleur the Floatzel @lvl 39

Now I'm at a point that I only have 2 or 3 decent Pokemon left, all from a different house, so I again need training. But, I'm a bit fed up with the routes and trainers I fought for hours and hours, and thought I could train at Iron Island. Just before Canalave City, I fight a fisherman with 4 Remoraid an a Gyarados, who kills Luna the Golduck @lvl34.

I proceed, but I totally forgot about Rival Tom, challenging me at the bridge in Canalave City. I had no change, especially not without items:

Trained up before taking on Roxanne using the leech seed strategy I saw on here. Put everyone away except for Taylor the Taillow and trained up as I saved peeko catching Larry the Whismur who died in the next battle...yep then went and destroyed Brawley. got lucky in the cave after the second gym and got Houdini the Abra and Karpette the Magikarp in the water just outside talked to steven then headed to the next place chaught Mimi the Minun who died against Watson who I challenged after taking out my rival and training also chaught Mary the Marill beat Watson with the help of the newly evolved Houdini, Karpette, and Mary. Trained everyone to level 35.
