The Realm of Darkness

I pulled my map out of my back pack and started to look for the next town. The closest town was through a route on the south side of Amber. According to the map it was grassland.

"Floon!" Loony cried.

I gave her a little rub on the top of her head. I had decided earlier to let her stay outside of her poke'ball because she always kept coming out whenever I put her back in. It was nerve wracking for her to come out constantly when I had put her back in, so I decided to let her do what she wanted to do and let her stay out.

One thing I found about Loony through this experience was that she was stubborn, very stubborn. If she was so stubborn to stay outside of the poke'ball with me then she would be very stubborn in order to get what she wanted.

My eyes followed the map as I walked out of Amber Town. The route beyond Amber Town was nice. The wind was blowing across the ground, some Pokemon were hiding in the tall grass, others were minding their own business, and some bird like Pokemon were gliding across the sky. I had shoved my poke'dex at different Pokemon I saw. It was interesting to read about what the poke'dex had to say about the Pokemon I saw on this route. I quickly moved on after recording each Pokemon in the poke'dex, but what interested me though was this bunny like Pokemon. The bunny like Pokemon was hopping around in the grass, minding its own business. It would just jump around and every once in a while it would stop to smell the flowers. I had shoved my poke'dex like some freak in the general direction as the bunny Pokemon.

"When Buneary senses danger, it perks up its ears. On cold nights, it sleeps with its head tucked into its fur. It often runs and hides in its mother's fur. Buneary are able to deliver powerful blows with their curled up ears. They also have impressive jumping ability." The poke'dex beeped.

"Hey Loony," I whispered.

"Floon?"

"See that Pokemon over there?" I asked, I received a nod in reply from the balloon Pokemon, "That Buneary is going to be our new friend, want to battle it?"

"Floon!"

"Start with Constrict," I ordered. Loony cried and started to spin like a Baltoy. The spinning was like a form of transportation, moving closer to the Buneary, who was currently smelling the flowers.

"Bun!" The bunny Pokemon cried as it jumped. It must have heard Loony's approach. Buneary's eyes began to glow with a blue color before it brought one of its long ears in the air and smacked Loony.

"What the…" I muttered as Loony was flying back, "That doesn't make sense, normal type attacks don't work on Ghost types, unless it used…"

Foresight! It made sense now. When its eyes were glowing, that was foresight! No wonder why it could hit Loony with a normal type attack. Foresight was a move that allowed Pokemon to use normal and fighting type moves against a ghost Pokemon. I also heard that it cold be used to find ghost type Pokemon hidden in the shadows.

"Try to head for it again with Constrict," I told Loony. The balloon Pokemon cried as she began to spin into Constrict again. The bunny Pokemon raised one of its ears again to strike Loony, but this time I was ready for that.

"Minimize then head back into Constrict!"

Loony began to glow and shrunk. She was shrinking to a very small size and stopped when she was small enough for the pound to miss her. She then began to glow with a green aura, regaining her size and then wrapped her arms around the bunny Pokemon. Buneary began to struggle and cry in pain as Loony started to strangle it.

"Tighter," I commanded.

Loony began to strengthen her hold on Buneary. It began to cry louder in pain. I flinched when its cry got louder and grabbed a poke'ball out from my backpack.

"Let go of it now," I said.

Loony loosened her hold on Buneary, letting it fall out of her grip. I then threw the poke'ball at it. The ball opened and sucked the Pokemon in. The contraption met the floor and began to shake and beep.

Keara smiled walking out with her Abra at her side. "I'm not good at coming up with names so I'll give you a nickname when i think of it okay" she said looking down at the small Pokemon as she rummaged through her bag. Now where did that map get to she thought letting herself smile more when she found it. Upon inspecting the map she concluded that she was to go south where the route was. "Alright Abra we have to go this way" she said picking her up and running towards the route.

From what she could see the route was grassy. Great i should be able to find some really cool Pokemon she thought happily running out of Amber town and into the open of the route. "Lets see what i can find" she said to Abra walking into the grass. Unable to hear the rustling sound behind her she wasn't alerted to the Pokemon behind her until Abra jumped out of her arms turning around.

"Ab Abra!" the Pokemon said looking up at her knowing her trainer for some reason was unable to hear anything. When Keara looked up from her pokemon she spotted a Poochyena and pulled out her pokedex.

Poochyena will chase it's prey until the victim becomes exhausted. However, if the prey strikes back it will run away she read off the pokedex. "Awesome this will make a great addition to our team, Alright Abra use confusion on the Wild Poochyena now!" she called out grinning as Abra moved forward sending a wave of stars at Poochyena.

"Chyena!" the Pokemon cried out dodging the attack just in time and running at Abra tackling her.

"Ab..ra" Abra said wincing as she stood.

"Abra shake it off and use confusion again!" Keara ordered and Abra sent another wave of stars at Poochyena that hit this time. Poochyena howled it's head spinning as it tried to attack Abra with another tackle but ended up hitting a tree. "Good job Abra. Now i want you to keep trying to get Poochyena to attack you so it will do more damage to it's self." she ordered.

"Abra" the Pokemon said giving her a confused look before heading towards Poochyena.

"Pooochyena!" Poochyena howled running at Abra.

"Abra Teleport!" Keara ordered crossing her fingers as Abra disappeared from sight and appeared behind Poochyena who ran straight into the tree struggling to stand. She grinned tossing a Pokeball at the wounded Poochyena crossing her fingers again as the Pokemon was enveloped by the ball which landed on the ground shaking.

Odessa didn't have any qualms about traveling in the dark, not that she had much of a choice since their wasn't anywhere available in Amber Town for her to stay. She took a quick look at her Pokenav map and realized she should probably hurry, since it was one of the longest routes of the region.

Odessa had run most of the route, hoping to make it to the next town early enough to get a good nights sleep, Ω following behind Odessa instead of in his poke-ball. Odessa stopped running at the site of extremely tall grass, nearly up to her neck, she wasn't exactly surprised, but it had been clear that far and she had hoped their wouldn't be the entire time.

Odessa sighed and walked into the grass, Ω following her closely so the grass wouldn't separate them. Their was a rustle in the grass, Odessa turned but missed whatever it was, Odessa continued walking to what she hoped was direction of the rest stop.

Suddenly a Rattata jumped in front of Odessa, it looked ready to fight, "Alright Ω, time for our first battle" she said. Ω rushed in front of Odessa to combat the Rattata. Odessa pulled out her Pokedex which analyzed the Rattata, it was a lvl 3 and only had three attacks.

She decided what to start out with, "Ω, Thunder wave" she said, sparks issued from Ω's body and danced around the Rattata, paralyzing it.

"Tackle" Ω launched himself at the Rattata, which managed to dodge it at the last second, Ω turned around and tried to use tackle again, the Rattata used tail whip and knocked Ω into a bush.

The Rattata followed up the tail whip with a quick attack, hitting Ω before he could disentangle himself from the bush. The Rattata then seized up and stopped moving, "Paralyzed" Odessa thought, "Tackle, before it can move again" Odessa said, Ω smashed into the Rattata's side, sending it sprawling to the ground, and still paralyzed.

"Again" called Odessa, Ω attempted a tackle but only managed a glancing blow, the Rattata had recovered from being paralyzed. The Rattata used tackle at the same time that Ω turned around and did the same, launching themselves directly at each other.

The two collided head on and we're both sent sprawling, Ω got up weakly, the Rattata stayed down. Odessa took one of the empty Poke-balls from her bag and tossed it at the Rattata, the ball shook, it went on for a long time, "Wow" she thought, "That Rattata has willpower" she thought, seeing how hard it could fight a Poke-ball after the fight it had just had.

Lilliana: =) Congratulations, you captured a level 2 Male Poochyena. Abra grew to level 6!
Zamorak: One thing, I decide the levels =) But no worries about it this time. Congratulations, you captured a level 3 Female Rattata. Electrike grew to level 6!

Seated on a bench in Amber Town, Travis retrieved his new Pokedex and aimed it at his new Mudkip, who was sitting a few feet away gnawing on a stick like a puppy, but with its eyes locked on Travis. The Pokedex read: "Mudkip rests by covering itself with mud at the bottom of the river it dwells in. The fin on the top of its head can sense the flow of water. It has the strength to move boulders." But more importantly, the Pokedex informed Trav that the little guy knew Tackle and Growl. He sighed, thinking of his all-star team back home, and remembering further the irritation of raising Pokemon when they're so weak. But it needs to be done, and Travis knew that. He just didn't like it.

On the sidewalk in front of the bench, a girl- a very hot, blond girl- walked by, her booty popping in very short shorts. Sensing that its new master's attention was absorbed by something other than itself, Mudkip turned and glanced at the girl.

One second later, before Travis could even stand, it was standing with its front legs braced against his own barking angrily.

"What are you, gay? Or maybe just an attention ho?" he teasingly asked the Pokemon, who responded with more angry barking.

"Hey, hows about we head to the first gym? What do you say?" Realizing that it had once again captured its master's attention, the Mudkip stopped barking and quizzically stared into Travis's eyes, before it took its feet off of him and sat down. Apparently, it didn't hate the idea anyway. The Vassa Map was then withdrawn and spread out in Travis's hands.

"One of the basics to becoming a great trainer is to know your town map well; I would know," he explained to the Mudkip, shrugging and giving himself a cocky smile. "We've got to go that way- Route 301 first. We better get a move on, if we wanna make it to the next city before nightfall, when the Gastly's come out." Yes, he was trying to scare his Mudkip, who hardly reacted. That was the outcome of no human companions.

---

The route consisted of a dirt trail, fairly well kept and usable, mind you, that cut through a long grassland prarie dealy. It seemed like every step Trav took some wild Pokemon got spooked and scattered. He'd seen countless Pidgey-looking birds escape into the air where they safely soared. Families of Rattatas scampered through the grass- he could only tell by their long purple tails that peeped out of the top- and little sheep things occasionally crossed the path with a mouthful of food. But nothing really interested him. It wasn't for about a half hour of walking on the trail with Mudkip protectively close to his side did something exciting happen. Something behind them barked. Turning around, a grey dog-like Pokemon was gritting its teeth and in battle stance. Quickly it charged at Mudkip, demonstrating its Tackle attack.

Trav moved his tongue over his gums as he thought of what to do. He hadn't tested out his partner yet and wasn't sure of what it was capable of. Mudkip growled competitively.

"Mudkip, can you Growl quickly and then Tackle it?" With surprising hostility the Mudkip let loose a vicious growl at the charing Pokemon- which the Pokedex confirmed as Poocheyna- and then met it head on with its own Tackle. The two collided, but Mudkip proved more powerful since it had Growled first. The poocheyna slid backwards on the path, sending dust flying everywhere.

"Beautiful," Trav commented monotonously. "Tackle it once more, Mudkip?" Without hesitation Mudkip sprinted with its tiny blue legs again and rammed the wild Pokemon with its head.

"Hey! HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" an angry voice roared from further down the path. An old bearded man in dirty overalls ran to the little scene, heaving and red in the face. "That's my Pooch you're assaulting there!" Travis was unfazed, and so was Mudkip.

"Well it attacked us. I suggest you keep a better eye on it and work on its temper problem. It'll never get anywhere acting like that. C'mon Mudkip." The man was left standing over his fainted Pokemon in the dust, mouth agape and face swelling with reddness more and more, as the two continued down the path.

"First things first," Garith began. "Lets see what's inside this pokeball," He said as he pointed the pokeball toward the ground and a beam of light shot out. "Tsutaja!" The green snake looking pokemon exclaimed as it came out of the pokeball. "What pokemon is this?" Garith thought as he pulled out his pokedex from his pocket. "Tsutaja the grass snake pokemon it knows tackle and growl," Garith said aloud. "Nice to meet you Tsutaja my name is Garith," He said crouching down to greet his new pokemon. "Tsu," Tsutaja said sticking out its hand. Garith happily shook Tsutajas' hand. "Would you like a nickname?" Garith asked Tsutaja. "Ja," Tsutaja said turning its head away. "I guess you don't trust me yet to nickname you but eventually I hope we become the closest friends," Garith said smiling. "Alright partner let's get going," Garith said as Tsutaja jumped onto his shoulder. Garith noticed other trainers and their pokemon but just ignored them like he did before he felt they weren't worth his time. "Tsu," Tsutaja called tugging on Gariths' shoulder he wanted to meet the other trainers. "Tsutaja no we have to get moving," Garith said harshly. "Ja...," Tsutaja said his voice low and sad.

"Sorry Tsutaja but we don't have time to waste with these other people," Garith said as they walked past all the other trainers. "Alright Tsutaja let's find out where we're going," He said as he took out his folded map from his pocket. "Looks like route 301 is just down that road," Garith said optimistically as he headed down the road. The path heading toward 301 was quiet and calm just how Garith liked it. The wind was blowing his hair the air smelt of grass and flowers. It was sunny out the sun beamed down on Tsutaja which he loved it made the grass pokemon feel stronger. "This is great isn't Tsutaja let's stop for a little picnic," Garith suggested as he walked into the grassy field to the right of the road. He then crouched down took off his backpack and started to unload things. "Well we'll need a blanket, some food, water and juice," He said as he unloaded all those things from his backpack. "Tsutaja!" Tsutaja exclaimed in glee as he jumped into the blanket Garith laid down and rolled around in it. "Glad you like the blanket here some pokemon food just for grass types, my friend Den must have put this stuff in my backpack," Garith said as he sat down on the blanket and gave Tsutaja the pokemon food. "As for me I'll have this peanut butter and jelly sandwich," He continued as he took a bite of his sandwich.

"Tsu," Tsutaja happily said as he bowed his head, his way of saying thank you to Garith. "Glad you're happy," Garith responded as he took a sip out of his water in a canister. As the two enjoyed their picnic Garith noticed the grass near them was shaking unusually. "Tsutaja get ready for a battle!" Garith ordered as he quickly stood up his facial expression fierce. Everything was silent for a moment time itself seemed to stop. In a split second a bird pokemon flew out of the grass causing a fierce wind knocking Tsutaja over. "What pokemon is that?" Garith questioned as he pulled out his pokedex from his pocket and opened it. "Mamepato the tiny pigeon pokemon it loves to use its gust attack," Garith told Tsutaja who was getting up from being knocked down. "It's a flying normal type it might be a tough fight for you a grass type Tsutaja but I know we'll be able to beat it and capture it," Garith said.

"Let's start things up with a tackle attack!" Garith ordered as Tsutaja lunged itself at Mamepato. "Ma!" Mamepato growled as it dodged Tsutajas' attack and flapped its wings causing a powerful gust heading toward Tsutaja. "Tsutaja watch out!" Garith shouted as he cover his face with his arm because of the fierce winds. "Tsu!" Tsutaja moaned in pain as he was blown away from the gust attack. "Tsutaja please get up and try another tackle!" Garith commanded. Tsutaja quickly got back up and lunged itself into the air again to attempt to hit the flying Mamepato. "Mame!" Mamepato called as Tsutaja tackled it. "Great now another!" Garith yelled. As Tsutaja was about to hit Mamepato again it quickly dodged it and used a gust attack blowing Tsutaja away. "Tsutaja," Garith said as he ran toward his pokemon partner. "Are you ok?" He asked as he reached Tsutaja. "Ja!" Tsutaja exclaimed fire burning in his eyes as he got up and lunged it self at Mamepato again.

"Great direct hit," Garith said as Mamepato hit the ground from Tsutajas' attack. "Mamepato!" it shouted as it got back up and mustered up all of its power and used one more gust attack. "Tsutaja!" Garith shouted as he ran in front of Tsutaja covering him from the gust attack. The two both were blown away from the attack and hit a tree. The Mamepato then dropped from the air exhausted from using all its power. "Tsutaja now that it's weak use tackle!" Garith ordered. Tsutaja threw itself at Mamepato tackling it. "Mamepato...," It moaned as it hit the ground knocked out. "Alright go pokeball!" Garith shouted as he took out a pokeball and tossed it at the Mamepato. The ball opened in the air and Mamepato went inside as a white flashing light. The ball began to shake

Mark saw another person approaching the building, but didn't look twice to see who it was. He looked down at his pokemon, more confused in what to say or do, now that he actually had one.

"So… You're a fighting type hmm?" He said, trying to strike up conversation in this otherwise awkward silence.

"Ty…" The Tyrogue said weakly, as though seeing where this was going.

"Ahem!" Mark attempted, "Well I'm not really a fan of pokeballs to trap pokemon in, I know that seems like I'm not really a trainer if I don't have them, but oh well, I'm new at this." He bagged the Tyrogue's pokeball. He noticed it looking around inquisitively. While reorganizing his bag he felt the map again, and decided to pull it out.

"So, well according to the map we should be heading south. I don't even know where I am now…" He trailed off. "Well mom did leave some bus money, I'm sure I can catch a ride."

He walked over to the nearest bus stop, his Pokemon following right behind him.

This really isn't a good start… huh? He thought.

No one was at the stop, and according to the signage, another bus would come in 5 minutes.

Mark looked back at his pokemon again. That's right, mom and dad named their pokemon, hmmm… He thought, contemplating a name. Mark hadn't really thought of the Pokemon's gender (he hasn't even used the pokedex on his pokemon!) when he thought of a name, nonetheless he had settled on one he liked.

"Hmm okay I've got a name for you now, it'll be Axis, it's what my dance instructor used to call centering your weight so you can shift easily into another position, though I think he was the only one to call it that… She was a good teacher though," he trailed off. He looked back down at his new pokemon.

"Tyrogue!" It seemed to say in approval.

And no sooner, had the bus came. The bus driver opened the door to let them in, he seemed to understand that this was Mark's new pokemon, as the bus driver was very familiar with the route.

"You want Route 301 kid?"

"Yeah how did you-" Mark was interrupted

"Last stop at the terminal, there will be signs."

Mark paid his fair and picked up Axis and put him in the seat next to him, which was made difficult because of what appeared to be Axis' obsessive need to look at the passing town and the various things on the bus.

I hope I wasn't this squirmy when I was young, he thought.

Mark saw the terminal finally come into view; thankful as his right arm was beginning to feel a little sore from holding Axis down.

He thanked the bus driver as he got off the bus and saw quite large signs pointing towards the infamous route. The route itself appeared deserted (perhaps because of how early in the morning it was), but this didn't perturb Mark. He took out the map once again.

"Okay, so there is a rest stop up ahead, it might take all day to get there, but I can't tell… Stupid map and its lack of detail," he mumbled.

"Yrgggg." Axis growled, as though was anticipating some action. Of which at least one of them was prepared for…

"Okay, that's all good. Let's head out!" He began walking, Axis following right next to him now, having no trouble to keep up with the 13 year old. As they continued to walk, Mark couldn't help but talk to his new pokemon, he figured he wouldn't be alone with Axis around, and he was sure that Axis could grasp in what he was talking about.

"Oh man, I need to show you some sick moves; you'll love dancing like me in no time. Plus I bet it will make good practice," Mark said, maybe a bit too naively.

Mark suddenly realised something, "oh man! That professor guy never gave me some food for you, and I'm already getting hungry." He looked at his phone and saw that it was only 10am now, they had been walking for about half an hour. Mark stopped and took off his bag.

"Well mom gave me some granola bars, so you can have one if you want." Mark sat in the grass, he took off the wrapper, placing his refuse back in the bag and handed the bar to Axis. His small hand clasping the food. He sniffed it a bit, then took a rather large chomp out of it.

Mark laughed, and bit into his own granola bar.

"So what do you suppose we should do once we get to the next town? Mom and dad said they faced gym trainers when they visited a new town, and that training was needed to win, so I guess we gotta get you in fighting condition!"

"Tyghfff!" Axis said with his mouth full.

Mark fell over laughing this time, but immediately stopped when he heard a rustle in the tall grass next to them.

"Earrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!" It said warningly.

Not heeding the warning, Mark went to investigate, through the brushes he saw a pokemon with its ears rolled up, it sort of looked like a rabbit. No sooner had Mark pushed back the brush, that Bunneary let out its ears in attack, hitting Mark in the face. It stung quite a bit and made him step back a bit with his vision blurry.

"OW!" He yelled.

Axis responded immediately standing between Mark and the fully aware Bunneary. Starring each other down, Mark was suddenly reminded of his responsibility as a trainer to get Axis fighting (or currently, lack thereof).

"Ummm use something to attack that bunny!" Mark called, as he rummaged through his bag trying to find the pokeballs.

Axis went into action, despite his trainer's ineptness and used tackle as the Bunneary went into a defense curl. The attack hadn't done much damage, but it did hit home, causing the Bunneary to fumble back a bit out of its defensive curl. Mark was surprised in Axis' sudden spirit and wondered if he too could have this sort of battle spirit passion, his pokemon had, afterall it was the same for the competitions he participated in, even the ones he didn't win a medal in.

Neither of the two pokemon seemed to switch moves. Bunneary maintained its defensive stature while Axis continued to attempt to attack it.

"Errr switch it up, maybe, it doesn't want to budge," Mark advised.

Axis used Fake Out, the shockwave of which sent Bunneary back further, but still not doing as much damage.

Then suddenly, as though planned, the Bunneary went into action and uncurled its ears pounding Axis with them. This brought him to the ground.

"Ty!" It cried defiantly, panting, struggling to get up.

Mark couldn't help but cheer his partner on, "you can do it! You're doing great so far."

This seemed to invigorate Axis and he made quite of a lunge of a tackle, sending both pokemon into a tree.

Axis got up "Ty!" it repeated defiantly.

The poor Bunneary appeared to have hit its head on the tackle and looked as though it was in some pain and may no longer attack. Mark felt this to be a good time to try a pokeball on the pokemon, though he still somewhat regretted having to use it – a strange way in making friends it seemed, by catching them…

He threw the ball anyway, and it expanded, absorbing Bunneary into it, it hit the ground and began to wobble...

((it would probably be more funny if it escaped and pounded mark again xD :p ))

((To my defense, I want to get used to the English names so I'm using them. Also I figured that seven rodents against a sold rock MONSTER wouldn't stand a chance. No rodents were killed in the making of this post [we hope]))

"Alright, now what?" Daphne asked herself, standing in front of the start of the route. She opened her map, turned it around several times not knowing which way was up, finally realizing that, as there was writing on it, the one way just had to be up, and squinted at it. She was already finding out exactly how terrible she was at map-reading. She sighed and put the map away, there was only one way to go anyway, and that was ahead!

She was about to release her Pokémon to meet and maybe give it a cute name and they'd get along great and live happily ever after with rainbows and ponies, but she decided that she'd get a little ways away from the town first. Didn't want to linger when the adventure was waiting! So rainbows and ponies just had to wait a little while longer.

And she soon found out that walking was incredibly boring. She kicked a pebble away. "Well this is dull." She grabbed her Pokéball, looking at it as she walked. Should she open it now? It would make sense to meet her partner as soon as she could to bond and to achieve the rainbows and ponies, but she wanted to pull it out a little longer. It was a special moment after all.

How would she name it anyway? Probably something entire fitting for the cute and cuddly rodent, Sugar Cube maybe. Yes Sugar Cube sounded perfect! That's how she'd name it.

"Alright I think I'm finally ready to meet you Sugar Cube!" She opened the Pokéball, waiting oh so unpatiently for the red to grow… big… and bigger… and biggest.

And there materialized a giant. Rock. Snake.

"What… in the name of the lord's most holy fudgemonkeys is THAT?!" She took a step back. That was so NOT her Sugar Cube! The beast looked at her with giant curious eyes, sniffing her once which made her freeze in terror. What was going on? Where was her fuzzy Minccino? Trembling she got her Pokédex out, but she had no clue how it worked and there were a LOT of buttons. Never taking one untrusting eye away from the stone goliath she hit some buttons at random, keeping the Pokédex close to the Pokémon's head. Why wasn't it saying anything?! She brought it closer, taking one eenie-meenie step toward the thing. And closer, and closer. Finally it bumped against the monster's head, and that's when a robotic yet eerily cheery voice burst out.

"Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon. It tunnels through the ground which shakes when it raises its thunderous roar. It can move the ground at fifty miles per hour. This one is a relatively young specimen, male and at level 5. It knows Mud Sport, Tackle, Harden and Bind.

She looked from the screen to the Onix and back, still in horror. "You're not… my Minccino." She said finally, stating quite the obvious. At her mention the Pokédex started droning the information for Minccino but she quickly hit it, making it shut down and put it in her purse. Next she dug out her cellphone, stepped far away from the beast, and furiously dialed Professor Cormier's number. Which, of course, she just happened to have.

"Hello, Professor Cormier here," he sounded just as tired and annoyed as he had before.

"This. Is. Not. A. Minccino."

"Why hello there Daphne, I did notice you took the wrong Pokémon, how's my Onix doing?"

"I. Want. My. Minccino."

"Well you see Daphne, that just won't do. You see I… … ……. Need that Minccino for something."

"That's just ********," Daphne said. Swearing was something she'd been taught to avoid, like a good girl, so this was big. VERY big. "I want that freaking Minccino! I don't want this… this… MONSTER!"

"Now you look here young lady," The Professor scolded. "You grabbed that Onix' Pokéball, it's yours. There will be no discussion over this. And that Onix is a fine Pokémon, and one with feelings, so be respectful will you?"

"Oh you're the one to talk!"

"Whatever, be nice to that Pokémon or I'll alert the Pokémon League of your misdoings!" And with that he hung up on her, causing Daphne to kick at the dirt under her feet. Whatever was she supposed to do now?!

"Why aren't you a Minccino?!" She cried rather pathetically and the Onix just looked at her quizzically. She sighed and let herself drop to the ground, leaning her back against the Pokémon's, if you could call it that, massive body. Onix, in turn, poked her a little with his head. "Don't touch me!" Daphne cried, cringing away from the huge head. She pulled her legs up to her body and buried her head against her knees. Why did these things always happen to heeeer?

She breathed in, one two three four, and breathed out.

"Alright, well since I'm stuck with the useless piece of rock anyway I'll just need to stick with it, him, until I can trade him for something fluffy," she decided out loud, making Onix grunt a little sadly, there really wasn't any other word for the strange sound he made, but he didn't look happy. Still Daphne was determined to get something fluffy for him.

Now talking about something fluffy, a set of bright orange eyes popped up behind the Onix. It probably thought it was just a rock he was hiding behind, not a living, breathing behemoth, and was keeping a close eye on Daphne. She blinked, staring at the little creature. It sure wasn't that fluffy, but it would do.

"Alright Onix, I want you to make yourself useful at least, we're gonna catch that rodent! Wait," she interrupted herself. "I should probably check and see what it is first." Onix made a sighing noise, to with Daphne shot him a dirty look and fetched her Pokédex. "Alright, now how do I use you? Maybe if I hit that rodent with it..." She carefully came a little closer to it, reaching over Onix' tail to get just a liiiiitle closer….

"OW! The thing BIT me!" She cried as the creature set its one huge teeth in her hand. With the other one she reflectively hit it as hard as she could with the Pokédex, which, of course, began to crow out information about the species. "SON OF A BASKETBALL!" She shouted, rubbing the site where the thing had bit her. It had only broken skin a little and there was a small cut from which a little blood oozed. "You had better not have rabies or I swear to god you're going to die! Onix, crush it like a bug!"

Onix seemed to be incredibly amused by the happenings but he did obey. He lifted his tail, moved it a few inches and brought it down hard, the Patrat (Which Daphne had picked up was its name) dodged almost successfully. It cried out as a huge chunk of its tail got caught underneath Onix'.

"HA! Not so confident now are we?!" Daphne cried triumphantically (Though shooting a glare at Onix as he rolled his eyes). However she'd definitely been cheering too early. From a nearby tree more Patrat came out, ready to defend their buddy who was still furiously trying to pull its tail from underneath Onix' stone body. "OUh-oh, ehm, Onix, crush them?" Daphne asked with a small voice. She counted at least six of them had come to save the other one.

Onix flattened himself to the ground and rolled away from where he'd previously been lying (with another oainful yelp as he rolled over the last part of the Patrat's tail) where about four Patrat teeth were now biting the dust. It was his first battle with his new trainer and it was against seven rodents, and to top it all off said owner was completely useless! This Onix was not a happy camper, in fact he cherished the thought of being traded to a more competent trainer. But first he had to bash these things into oblivion first. Given, Onix was fairly capable of bashing things into oblivion, it was just going to take some effort.

He swept his tail to use a Mud Sport attack, throwing mud at the rodents. A cacophony of little shrieks could be heard as the Patrats tried to wipe the mud from their eyes. Next Onix used her tail in a Tackle attack to throw all of them against a wall at the same time. It was a bit like bowling actually, accept with things that squeaked when you hit them. The one who'd already been banged up pretty good by a combination of Onix' weight and Daphne's left hook was already out for the count, but the other six were not going to surrender quite so easily.

"Whooooo, you're doing great ugly!" Came Daphne's cheering from the sidelines. She definitely was not offering any further help, Onix was on his own. He grunted, promising himself to give his trainer a good beating for calling him ugly when he was finished, and turned back to the rodents who… were definitely not where he left them.

Two Patrats had climbed into a tree and now kamikaze-crashed against his head which made Onix cry out in pain. His head felt all fuzzy and he couldn't see straight, his attic had definitely been scrambled. He brought down his head to the ground where he thought the Patrats were (as the world was still spinning) and was satisfied to hear a pair of panicked shrieks, he was certain he hit one head on for he landed rather softly. Once the world settled behind his eyes a little he saw that one of the rats had been knocked out. Five to go.

The other one that had made the leap-of-faith to his head was busy running for his dear life hoping to avoid the faith of his buddy. That was one deserter so four to go, but where were they? "Behind you!" Daphne yelled and Onix turned around instantly. He heard one yelp and saw in the corner of his eye one rodent falling to the ground. "Oops, I meant on you, sorry!" Onix rolled his eyes for a moment again, even when trying to be helpful his trainer failed. He used his tail as a baseball bat and hit the Patrat straight on, sending it flying into the bushes. He definitely wasn't counting that one to rear its ugly head any time soon.

But, where were the others? He closed his eyes in conenctration and could faintly feel something on his back. In instinct he rolled onto the ground, squashing at least one of them underneath him (He felt a big of a bump, while rolling) with an affirmatively dulled squeak. Two more to go.

"There's one, by the tree!" Onix looked around, staring at the about a dozen trees surrounding him until he caught sight of two giant red eyes shaking at the foot of a tree. But something else caught his… well nerves actually. He cringed as one rodent, he assumed, tried to bite the horn on his head which was the least protected thing on his body besides his eyes. As he felt it right at the top of the horn he did the only thing that felt natural to him, he rammed his head against the nearest tree and an affirmative squeak told him he'd hit the mark. The thing fell down knocked out. And so there was only one left.

He approached the last one slowly, staring hard into the huge eyes. The thing was shaking head to toe. With immense joy the Onix roared in his face, roared HARD. The tiny Patrat made a tiny squeak and made a run for it.

"We did it!" Daphne cried happily, ignoring the skeptic look she received in return. But Onix was too happy to think about that solid beating he told himself to give her. He was the MAN! He'd beat seven annoying rodents like they were FLEAS (Not that he'd ever had fleas as, you know, he was made of solid rock)! He OWNED!

"HA, no way I'm catching one of THOSE weaklings, not that they would have stood a chance against our genious," if Onixes had eyebrows one would be raised by now. "We did good, ugly, we did reaaaaal good."

((OOC: We, as in Nakuzami and I, have decided that Miharu and Kris will travel together. :P However, here is Miharu's POV of the battle, Kris's POV will be up shortly.))

They had both agreed to battle and the Professor apparently had a battle field outside of the laboratory. Miharu had Sneasel out in front of her and Kris had Zorua in front of him as well.

"Obviously a one on one battle and we have no need to a referee right? We should be able to tell when our pokemon are unable to continue," stated Miharu.

Kris nodded. "That's fine."

Miharu glanced at Zorua. Although she had a basic understanding of Unova pokemon, she didn't really know much. She hadn't planned on ever going to the Unova region either and as such, she didn't read about them. However, she should have guessed that she would have gone up against pokemon from that region at some point in this journey. All she knew about the pokemon was that it's named was Zorua and it had a dark typing. She didn't know much of anything else, and she knew that she might lose the battle because of it.

"Kris may have the first move," stated Miharu.

"Well then, Zorua, use Scratch." Kris commanded his Zorua. The little pokemon ran at Sneasel, waving his claws wildly.

Miharu barely looked worried. "Leer, then taunt." Sneasel glared at Zorua, stopping it in his tracks. She then said something insulting in their language and Miharu could see that Zorua looked angry.

Kris muttered something under his breath before commanding Zorua to use Scratch again. The pokemon once again ran towards Sneasel, even more aggressively due to the taunt.

"Sneasel, counter with Scratch." Sneasel ran up to Zorua, and they exchanged scratches blow for blow. After a few minutes, it was obvious that they were matched blow for blow. They both jumped away from each other, both a little bit more weakened, both a little bit more tired. "Kris's turn."

"Use Pursuit!" Zorua ran in towards Sneasel again with its teeth bared and claws extended.

Miharu calculated what would be the best thing to do before Zorua reached Sneasel. "Sneasel, use jump and use Scratch." Sneasel nodded, jumping as Zoura was about to hit her. She flipped in midair and headed down towards Zoura with her claws outstretched.

"Dodge then continue your attack." Zorua jumped back as Sneasel collided with the ground, then jumped in at Sneasel and delivered the blow. Sneasel was thrown backwards a few feet, but managed to get back up.

Miharu raised an eyebrow. "Sneasel, scratch once more."

Sneasel raced towards Zorua, her claws out in front. Zoura had dodged to the right by instinct, but Sneasel had managed to hit Zoura on the leg. Zoura, lifting up the leg, stood on three legs. It seems that he could not use that leg anymore.

Before Kris could have said a command, one of Sneasel's legs had given up on her as well. It seemed that when Zorua had dodged and Sneasel was close enough to land her scratch, at the same time, it seemed that Zorua had landed his own Scratch on Sneasel's leg. Miharu glanced at both of their pokemon. Although Zorua didn't have use of one of his legs, he could still use three and usually that would be more of an advantage instead of the one that Sneasel can use. She sighed, holding up a pokeball.

"Sneasel return." Sneasel was caught in the red beam of light and was back inside her pokeball. "I would not like to cause my pokemon anymore pain that is necessary. It was obvious that Kris was going to win." Miharu glanced at Kris's shocked face and couldn't help but let out a smirk. "Although next time, I will win."

Miharu placed Sneasel's pokeball on her belt and walked away from the field. As she was walking away, she glanced over her shoulder. "Let us be rivals as well as travel partners. If Kris agrees to this idea, then meet me at the pokemon center after doing anything that needs to be done. If Kris does not have anything, then Kris might as well walk with me to the pokemon center anyways. If Kris does not want to become travel partners with me, I hope to see Kris in the finals again and hopefully we can have battles throughout this journey." She walked away placidly, while wondering to herself where the pokemon center was.

Kris Kollyns
A victory and new travelling companion...

-----

I was surprised to see Miharu here, and a little angry as she was the one that denied me the title of Sinnoh champion. Though, Miharu and I had both agreed to battle and the Professor apparently had a battle field outside of the laboratory. Miharu had Sneasel out in front of her and I had Zorua in front of me.

"Obviously a one on one battle and we have no need to a referee right? We should be able to tell when our pokemon are unable to continue," stated Miharu.

I nodded, "That's fine."

Miharu glanced at Zorua as I glanced at Sneasel. It was a Dark and Ice type, and judging by the size of its red feather it was a female. I wasn't sure how Zorua would do, as this was his first battle, though it was also Sneasel's first battle.

"Kris may have the first move," stated Miharu.

"Well then, Zorua, use Scratch." I commanded Zorua. The little pokemon ran at Sneasel, waving his claws wildly.

Miharu barely looked worried. "Leer, then taunt." Sneasel glared at Zorua, stopping it in his tracks. Sneasel then said something insulting in their language and I knew the taunt had worked, as Zorua seemed agitated.

Under my breath I muttered, "God. That may make this battle a little more difficult as that reduced Zorua's movepool by a third." I then commanded Zorua to use Scratch again.

Before Zorua reached Sneasel, Miharu had already given her a command, "Sneasel, use jump and use Scratch." Sneasel nodded, jumping as Zorua was about to hit her.

Zorua had dodged to the right by instinct, but Sneasel had managed to hit Zorua on the leg. Zorua, lifting up the leg, stood on three legs. It seems that he could not use that leg anymore.

Before I could say a command, one of Sneasel's legs had given up on her as well. It seemed that when Zorua had dodged and Sneasel was close enough to land her scratch, at the same time, it seemed that Zorua had landed his own Scratch on Sneasel's leg. Although both pokemon had lost the use of one of their legs, Zorua still had three for support while Sneasel only had one.

Miharu sighed, "Sneasel return." Sneasel was caught in the red beam of light and was back inside her pokeball. "I would not like to cause my pokemon anymore pain that is necessary. It was obvious that Kris was going to win." My face registered a state of shock for a moment as I realized she had just forfeited. Then my expression turned to a smile as I also realized that meant I had just won, "Although next time, I will win."

If Kris does not want to become travel partners with me, I hope to see Kris in the finals again and hopefully we can have battles throughout this journey." She walked away as I thought about what she had just said. Should I travel with her? She had cost me the title of champion, but that was no reason not to like her, after all, me and Luna became friends after she beat me in the Unova league. It also meant that Miharu was as strong a trainer as me, and it may be good to have a travel companion in this new region.

I noticed Miharu had gotten a fair distance away as I was thinking. I ran up to her and began to talk, "Well, sure. I guess we could travel together." I started to walk beside her as we headed to the pokemon center.

"What the?" Mark exclaimed as the ball opened. He was sure he had caught it.

Axis turned around for further instructions but as it did so the Bunneary jumped up and using Axis' head as a stepping stone, flew towards Mark's direction and uncoiled its ears again and hitting him in the face, knocking him back again, and then running off.

"STUPID RABBIT!" Mark yelled after it needlessly. He changed tact however, "that fight Axis, that was awesome, you have some real potential, even if I don't know too much. I think that was okay for a first battle though."

"Ty!" Axis half-heartedly agreed.

"I'm sure we can find another pokemon later…" Mark said, quite upbeat considering he felt as though his head was throbbing. "And I still need to show off some dance moves to you."

They walked further on, and Mark suddenly realized he had forgotten about his Pokedex altogether. He stopped and pulled it out. Axis too turned around to see why his trainer had stopped.

"Yeah… So I should have used this much earlier on…" He waved the device in Axis' direction.

Suddenly a computer-like voice spoke, "It is famous for its eagerness to fight and always nurses injuries from challenging larger foes. In addition, it is always bursting with energy. To make itself stronger, it keeps on fighting even if it loses. It currently is at a level 6 rating and knows: Tackle, Helping Hand, Fake Out and Foresight."

"Hmmm…" Mark contemplated "Interesting. I wonder what those moves can do."

The pokedex appeared to have heard him and began giving explanations of each move. It seemed Mark was getting a better understanding of his pokemon now.

He also noticed that the pokedex had updated itself since his encounter with the Bunneary, and he listened to the relevant information to that pokemon as well.

Finally he clasped the device shut.

"Well I guess you'll be wanting to have a workout regime too then I bet," Mark said.

"TYROGUE!" Axis said enthusiastically.

"I have some exercises I like to do in the morning too, so we can certainly do some together," Mark smiled looking down on his new pokemon. They continued walking on the path.

"Maybe we can fight a trainer instead," Mark suggested, though he was thinking this might have to wait until the rest stop as he hadn't seen anyone for some time now.

Instead they continued walking, taking in the lush green fields and watching the various pokemon frolic about.

Mark was surprised of himself, generally in these long-walk situations, he would be listening to his iPod, and yet he had no desire to do so. He mused on this for a few seconds then decided to get some training going for his pokemon.

"Okay, let's do some jogging for 20 minutes," he said, and without a second thought began to jog.

Cluing in quite quickly, Axis began jogging as well going at a faster pace, making Mark have to catch up a little. It was a good thing they were both in healthy shape as neither of them fell behind. They ended up maintaining a good jog for 45 minutes before Mark decided to slow down.

"Whew, that was fun." He stopped and took off his bag and rummaged for his water bottle. Finding it he drank a few gulps and gave some to Axis as well.

Mark was kind of surprised that there had been a lack of Pokemon (and trainers) since fighting the Bunneary. He figured the Bunneary was spreading a rumour that these two evil things were approaching and that they should be avoided at all cost. He was pretty sure the Bunneary was up to something.

His musings lost him in time and it seemed that no sooner had they arrived at the rest stop. ((If it's okay I'll describe it a bit, I'm not sure how you wanted it to be though)) It was a large campground- like place with cabins and places for people to put up tents and set up their trailers. Mark didn't have a tent, so he settled on a cabin. He was hoping he wouldn't have to use a lot of money, as his mom didn't give him too much, in favour of him trying to win it in battles and other means. She might not have been aware that trainers don't really gamble though.

The rest stop also had a vast amount of shops and other amenities as though it were a small town, but one for people simply spending the night. Mark also located an indoor and outdoor gym facility. They went up to the manager's office and he paid for a cabin, receiving a key labelled 3G.

"Okay Axis we got our room, lets dump it off, and then I'll show you some dance moves!"

They ran up the stairs to their room, both excited in the prospect of doing some dancing…

The cabin, like many other buildings in this region was white, new and really clean. And now that he thought of it, Mark realised the Rest stop too was also spotless. He dropped off his belongings, not wholly interested in what else the cabin had to offer and set out for the outdoor gym area, taking with him, his iPod and some portable speakers.

He found a good and open spot near the basketball court and began playing the music.

"Okay Ax ((something he'll start using out of habit)), this is some of the stuff I know and can teach you"

"Rogue!" Axis said excitedly.

An electronic beat began to play and as though the three months of recuperation had not occurred, Mark was back in his element now breakdancing.

Axis must have appeared amazed because he was now clapping, perhaps surprised that a human could even do such things.

As Mark's routine ended he attempted a more difficult move which required to put more weight on his right arm. He failed this part as his arm still felt a little sore, but got up as though nothing happened and smiled.

"There that's what it's all about," he said, crossing his arms wryly and laughing thereafter.

"Did you want to try some moves now?" Mark asked his pokemon.

"Ty!" Axis said excitedly agian, and proceeded to try one of Mark's previous maneuvers.

"Haha, that's the way, here I'll show you it again."

Mark felt like he could do this for hours even if it was approaching dinner time...

(OOC: I know the english names for the pokemon in the new Black and white so I'm going to use those names now it's easier for me)

The ball shook a few more times before Garith heard a click noise and the ball flashed a solid red color in the middle of it. Garith had caught his first pokemon. "Alright Snivy we caught a new friend," Garith said happily as he picked up the pokeball from the grassy ground. "Sni!" Snivy boasted as he stuck out his chest to make himself look stronger. "Great job "Super Snivy"," Garith said sarcastically. "Vy," Snivy grunted as he crossed his arm and looked away he knew Garith was messing with him. "Sorry but really great job Snivy you're one strong grass pokemon," Garith apologetically replied to his Pokemons' grunt. "Snivy!" Snivy growled giving Garith a "you better be thankful look" "No need to be mean about it," Garith sighed as he started to look at the pokeball with Pidove in it. "Let's greet out new friend," He then suggested as he tossed the pokeball into the air. The pokeball spun a few times before it opened releasing Pidove in a beam of light. "Dove!" Pidove exclaimed as it stretched out its wings. As it took a look around it spotted Garith and then became extremely angry. "What's with that look?" Garith asked Snivy who just shrugged at him. As Garith turned his attention back to Pidove he was already diving in at Garith fury in his eyes.

Pidove began pecking Garith in the head. He was still made about being beaten by Snivy. "Nice to meet you Pidove my name is Garith!" Garith yelled in pain as Pidove pecked at him. "Sni...." Snivy sighed as Garith and Pidove ran around in circles. "I can understand you being made but can you please stop attacking me!" Garith shouted as the two not paying attention to where they were going ran into a tree. "Pidove....," Pidove moaned as it slid down the tree face planted in it like Gariths'. "Oww..." Garith wailed as he fell off the tree and one his back. As he opened his eyes he noticed a brown pokemon staring at him. "What's that?" Garith thought as he pulled out his pokedex, still on his back. "Patrat the lookout pokemon," Garith began. "It knows tackle and leer and is know for being in groups," He put his pokedex away got up and dusted himself off. "Hey Pidove want to fight that Patrat?" Garith asked. "Pidove!" Pidove screeched as it too got back up. Pidove then turned its head away and flew off to a near by tree. "Great," Garith sighed. "Pa!" Patrat shouted as it jumped out of the tree and landed on Gariths' head. "Snivy!" Snivy growled as it lunged itself at Patrat. "Wait Snivy!" Garith began as Patrat jumped off Gariths' head and Snivy slammed right into Gariths' face. "O my goodness that hurt!" Garith shouted in pain as he hit the back of his head on the tree and landed face first into the dirt. The then Patrat laughed at Gariths' pain. "Snivy..." Snivy apologized.

"It's ok Snivy let's just beat that Patrat!" Garith growled enthusiastically. "Sni!" Snivy roared fired up by his trainer. "Use a tackle attack!" Garith ordered. Snivy threw itself as Patrat head first. Sadly for Snivy Patrat moved swiftly to the right out of range and countered with its own tackle attack. "Vy!" Snivy moaned as he flew back from the attack, his feet skidding across the ground. "Use tackle again!" Garith commanded. Garith was honestly getting tired of using tackle all the time but that was Snivys' only offensive move. "Snivy let's spice things up use leer!" Garith shouted hoping this would help win the battle. Snivy then made a fierce look and his eyes flashed with bright white lights making Patrat make a concerned face like as if it was afraid of Snivy. "Now use tackle," Garith said following up his chain of commands. "Snivy!" Snivy shouted as hit charged at Patrat making a direct hit. "Pat!" Patrat growled as it flew threw the air from Snivys' attack. "Alright use your speed and attack again!" Garith yelled. As Snivy began attacking Patrat also use a tackle attack causing the two to collide. "Come on Snivy," Garith muttered as the two pokemon were pushing at each other trying to over power the other.

"Snivy!" Snivy shouted as it won the power struggle and sent Patrat flying in the air. "Alright great job!" Garith congratulated his Snivy but it was premature. As the Patrat landed three more Patrats scurried to their friend. Each individual Patrat gave Garith and Snivy evil looks, they were angry about their hut friends. "Snivy get out of there!" Garith shouted as it looked like Snivy was going to get jumped by the three Patrats. "Sni?" Snivy said questioningly as it look toward his trainer not paying attention to the Patrats jumping at him. "Snivy!" Garith yelled as Snivy was being attacked by the Patrats. Garith, now feeling confused and distorted he look around for Pidove to help Snivy. "I don't care if you're mad at me just help Snivy now Pidove!" Garith shouted angrily at the top of his lungs. Pidove, who was sitting in a tree nearby flew out and stopped above where Patrats and Snivy were. "Pidove!" Pidove shouted ready for Gariths' command. "Muster up all your strength and use your most powerful gust!" Garith ordered fearing for the well being of Snivy. Pidove following his trainers orders started flapping his wings around causing a powerful gust.

The Patrats were all blown away and knocked into trees and Snivy laid on the ground. Garith ran toward Snivy as fast as he could at the time. "Snivy are you ok?" Garith asked as he slid down next to Snivy. "Sni..." Snivy weakly moaned obviously in a great amount of pain. "Pidove good job return," Garith said as he took out Pidoves' pokeball and a beam of light sent Pidove inside the ball. He then picked up Snivy and started looking around for any road signs to find his way back to Amber town. As he started running the Patrats had gotten back up and blocked his path. "Great there's no way Pidove can take them all on his own," Garith sighed. As Garith started thinking of a plan Snivy surprisingly jumped out his arms and stood his ground in front of the Patrats. "You want to fight...." Garith said as he began to tear up. "Pidove give him some back up," He continued as he tossed Pidoves' pokeball into the air. "Pidove," Pidove said as he popped out of his pokeball. "Use gust Pidove and Snivy in the confusion use tackle," Garith commanded. Pidove began flapping its wings making a powerful wind. Dirt and grass flying in the air made it hard for the Patrats to notice Snivy tackling each one of them. "Pidove now finish it!" Garith yelled. Pidove began flapping its wings faster making a small tornado sucking up the Patrats and spinning them around until each one was shot out in different directions.

"Good job you two return," Garith said pulling out Snivy and Pidoves' pokeballs and the two went inside in beams inside. "I have to get to get to a pokemon center or get home in Amber Town," Garith said as he put away the pokeballs. He then started walking slowly down the path he had went down before. He walked for a few minutes before he noticed he had been walking longer then he expected. "Wait where am I?" Garith thought as he pulled out his map. "Oh no I'm lost," Garith thought as he put his map away. He then began walking again. After a few more minutes he started to become very hungry and tired. His feet started dragging and he became very hot. Garith walked to a tree off the path and slid down the trunk of the tree and sat down at the base. He took of his backpack and pulled out his canister of water. "This is for you two," He said as he pulled out two bowls and got out Pidove and Snivy. The two pokemon drank the the water quickly. "Stay under the shade," Garith advised his pokemon as the two snugged up against Garith and fell asleep. "Well I guess we all deserve a good nap," Garith sighed as he fell asleep.

OOC: I felt like I made a Mary - Sue out of this post. Please Frost Bite, critique this post after you read it. Scold me harshly if I made my character into a Mary - Sue.

I had found a good old tree to lean against with Buneary and Loony out of t heir poke'balls. I couldn't think of a good nickname for Buneary yet, so I was just going to stick with Buneary until I could think of one. She, which I soon found out, was venting her anger out on Loony, which I didn't understand. I was the one who caught her, so shouldn't it be me that should be receiving the end of her temper. I had taken out my diary that I kept in my bag and began to write. I was quickly filling up the last few pages with the events of the entire day.

"Floon!"

"Bun, Bun!"

This kept going on as they both were bickering back and forth. I was starting to find it hard to concentrate on the actual writing, which was annoying me for a bit. I grabbed my jeans, muttering to myself saying that I needed to control my anger. I got back to scribbling words with my pen on the diary. The two kept bickering and soon my anger and annoyance was rising very rapidly. Eventually the bickering of the two Pokemon, turned into them attacking each other. The last thing I wrote before blowing up was the new attack that Loony required.

"Stop this nonsense at once!" I screamed, they were still bickering, "That's it, you guys are going into your poke'ball."

"Floon!"

"Buneary!"

"I don't care you are going back into your poke'balls and Loony you better not come out!" I shouted in retort. I grabbed their poke'balls and got them inside without too much of a hassle and complaining. I was about to grab my pen, but then I realized what I had done. I gave myself a face palm, I was supposed to be calm about this, I wasn't supposed to blow up on them. What was the point of taking anger management when I let my anger control my actions!? Oh I was so stupid. I rubbed my temples lightly before pushing it to the back of my mind. I'll deal with it later. I once again picked up my pen and started to write, finishing my entry, and the last entry that was going to go in that diary.

I breathed out a sigh as I let my hands rest, "I'll send it when I get to the next town over,"

After a while had released Buneray and Loony out of their poke'balls, once they materialized they seemed to have a look of guilt on their faces. I smiled sadly and rubbed both of their heads.

"It wasn't your fault, it was mine. I let my anger control me, don't take it too hard," I said sadly. This seemed to get them a bit happier, but they still seemed to feel a bit of guilt.

"C'mon we should go now," I told them, to get their minds off of my outburst of rage. They seemed to agree with that idea, giving out a somewhat happy cry. I was beginning to put my diary and pen in my bag until I saw a couple of purple rats scavenging for things in my bag.

I felt anger wash over me as I watched them. A tick mark had grown on my head as my face was going red. These purple rats were Rattata and they often scavenged around. The only time they scavenged off of humans was when these Pokemon thought that the human was utterly stupid. It was a complete insult for any trainer to get their things scavenged by these Pokemon, especially by an experienced trainer like me.

"Loony!" I said, raising my voice. Loony was startle by my change of tone, but it got her attention, "I want to use Astoish and Buneary cover your ears!"
Buneary and I covered our ears as Loony breathed in. Loony then sent out an ear piercing scream that produced visible blue sound waves. The Rattatas were startled and were clutching their ears in utter pain. I could tell that Buneary could hear it because I could hear it too. I soon felt that maybe I should have left Buneray back in her ball.

"React with Constrict before they get to do anything!" I screamed uselessly because I knew Loony could hear me. Loony stopped screaming for a minute and span into Constrict. Her arms then reached out and grabbed the purple rats who were screaming helplessly as they were lifted into the air. They could feel their bodies being squeezed in pain, letting out a scream of pain.

I looked at Bunear, hoping that she was going to cooperate with me with this battle, "Buneary use Pound!"

"Bun!"

Buneary then jumped off, raising both of her ears in the air. Once she was high enough for her eyes to meet straight at the Rattatas she started banging their heads, using her ears as hammers. My anger was quickly subsiding seeing the two purple rats getting beaten to a pulp. Buneary then flipped backwards, obviously finishing her job.

"Throw them!" I commanded.

"Floon!" Loony cried and flung the two heavy rats into the air. Loony had managed to fling them into a dead tree. The two bodies fell limp as they fell to the ground.

I stomped my foot on the ground, letting the rest of my anger dissipate, "That will show them what happens when they mess with me,"

Odessa looked thoughtfully at the Poke-ball that held the female rattata, as told to her by the Pokedex, and smiled. Her first capture in the Vassa region, it took a moment for her mind to return to reality, she was surrounded by grass, it was getting dark, and both Ω and her new Rattata were weakened from the battle. She decided that she probably wouldn't be able to find the rest station. She sighed and stood up, wondering what to do, knowing it probably wouldn't be a good idea to stay in the grass.

Twenty minutes later she decided she would just have to push on and make it to the rest-stop, hopefully before full-dark hit. She continued on, a little lost in the unchanging tall grass, eventually falling into her own thoughts to keep from getting bored. She thought about what to name the Rattata, she always like to give names to her Pokemon. Eventually she came to a name she thought was good, Ana, not a very common name for a Pokemon, which is why she liked it.

Sarah, lost in thought, didn't notice that she was about to run into a Poochyena until it barked at her. Her mind snapped back to her surroundings, "I'm not normally that oblivious" she thought to herself before realizing that the Poochyena was growling at her. Odessa realized this would probably end in a battle, the Poochyena barked again, Odessa sent out Ω to fight.

The Poochyena started with tackle before Ω could even react, hitting Ω dead-on. The Poochyena tried to tackle Ω again, but Ω quickly dodged this time, "Thunder Wave" Odessa said, the Poochyena was enveloped in sparks and its movement became slower, "Tackle" Odessa said, Ω threw himself at the Poochyena, grazing it as it partially managed to avoid the attack.

"Again" yelled Odessa, Ω charged the Poochyena before it could turn around to face him and hit it in the side, knocking it down. It was down for the count, but before Odessa could throw a ball another appeared, then two more, "It was part of a pack of Poochyena" she though dejectedly. They all growled at her, "Well, this is bad" she thought. The first one that had showed up attacked Ω, "Thunder Wave!" Odessa exclaimed, sparks shot from Ω and enveloped the Poochyena that had attacked, but before anything else could be done both of the others attacked at the same time.

"Ana, Quick attack. Ω Thunder Wave again!" Odessa said, Sparks shot from Ω and enveloped both the Poochyena as Ana burst from her Pokeball and used quick-attack on the Poochyena that had attacked first while it was getting up.

"Ana, Quick attack again, Ω use Tackle" she said, Ana went after the first of the two Poochyena who had not attacked first, Ω went after the Poochyena that had attacked first. The Poochyena who had not been attacked launched itself at Ω after he had hit the Poochyena who had attacked first.

"Both of you use tackle on the Poochyena that just attacked Ω!" Odessa said quickly, both throwing themselves at the Poochyena, Ω just barely getting a hit but Ana hitting it dead on.

The Poochyena both had attacked fell to the ground, fainted, but the other two attacked Ω and Ana coming out of their tackles, Ω managed to avoid but Ana was hit dead on and stumbled.

"Ana, quick attack the Poochyena that just hit you, Ω, tackle the same" Odessa said, both followed, and the Poochyena avoided both of them. "Quick attack again Ana, Tackle the other Ω" Odessa said. The Poochyena Ana attacked managed to avoid again, but the Poochyena Ω attacked had attempted a tackle at the same moment, knocking them both out.

Odessa returned Ω to his ball, hoping that Ana would be able to beat the last Poochyena.

The Poochyena tried to attack with tackle once again, "Tail whip" Odessa said, and Ana slapped the Poochyena to the side with her tail. It got up, unhurt, and tried again, "Again" Odessa said, the Poochyena got knocked to the other side this time.

Before the Poochyena could get up, "Quick attack" Odessa said, Ana sped at the Poochyena and got a hit, knocking it down once more. It took a moment for Odessa to realize that it wasn't going to get up for a little while.

Odessa returned Ana to her ball and moved quickly, hoping no more Poochyena would try and attack her until she found the rest-stop.

Route 301...

-----

Miharu and I had just left the pokemon center and were heading for Route 301. I pulled out my map of the Vassa region and began to examine it. This first route, Route 301, seemed to be the longest route in the entire region. It starts out going south from Amber Town, and then suddenly changes direction and heads west. Around that area there appeared to be a rest stop. That was all the information I needed so I put the map away in my backpack.

After putting the map away, I looked up. Without realising it, I had made it all the way to the route while looking at the map. Miharu seemed to be already figuring out a way to get past the obstacle in front of us. There were very few trees, just grass. The grass was tall enough to reach our waists, and it seemed difficult to get through. I stared at it for just a moment, before trying to push the grass in front of us out of the way. It refused to go down easily, and I didn't see a very clear path near us. I walked around, looking for some kind of entrance that allowed easy access. It wasn't long before I found a spot that was pushed down from people walking on it earlier.

I started walking down the path with Miharu right behind me, occasionally a patch of grass would shake and you could hear a pokemon. It was a pretty uneventful walk at the beginning, until I saw a flock of Pidove rise out of the grass. They all flew away, except for one. It was standing in the middle of the path, staring at me and Miharu. My hand automaticlly reached for my belt and I sent out Zorua, who appeared with a little mischevious laugh. At the sight of the Pidove, he jumped up, glowed purple and transformed into it. He then gave another laugh and changed back, ready to fight.

The Pidove was a little startled by Zorua's performance, so I took that moment to make the first move, "Start it off with Leer!" Zorua glared at the bird, making the bird cringe just a little more. "Now use Scratch."

Zorua extended his claws and ran at Pidove, while screaming, "ZOR!" The Pidove gave a little "Do!" In response, before being clawed with Scratch. The Pidove retaliated with Gust, sending Zorua spinning through the air. When he came back down I commmanded him to use Pursuit. He had barely touched the ground when he lunged at the Pidove and mauled it for a few seconds, before it flew into the air and used Gust again. Zorua jumped out of the way and used Leer again, causing the Pidove to hesitate for a slight second and fall out of the sky. It fell in under a second and at first I thought it had died or something. Zorua and I walked over to it and Zorua gave it a poke with its paw. At first it didn't react, but as Zorua turned to me it opened its eyes and jumped on Zorua's back. It hoist him about twenty feet into the air and dropped him, sending another Gust after him.

As Zorua fell, he was thrown around in the swirl of wind Pidove had created, then I got and idea. "When you go around again, use the force of the wind to jump at Pidove and finish it with Pursuit!" I yelled up at Zorua in an attempt to finish the battle. As he twisted around in the whirlpool-like wind, he launched himself at Pidove and mauled him in mid-air. They both fell to the Earth, struggling with each other as they did so, Zorua was on top, pushing down on Pidove. As they collided with the ground, a cloud of dust exploded from the crash site. I saw the silhouette of Zorua jump above the cloud, landing on my head. When the dust cleared, I saw Pidove's unconscious body laying on the ground. I then took out an empty pokeball and touched it to Pidove's chest. He disappeared in a flash of light and I waited to see if it was a successful capture...

Miharu watched at Kris battled against the Pidove. She was slightly shocked at seeing Zorua transforming into the Pidove, sort of like a Ditto, but managed to not show it on her face. As she knew the ending of the battle was near, she heard a small amount of movement behind her before she could feel the air shift that usually came from an electric pokemon as they came into the vicinity, even if they were not using an electric move. She turned around and saw a Mareep. She picked up a pokeball and let out Sneasel.

"Sneasel, taunt." Sneasel insulted Mareep in their language, and she could see Mareep getting mad. Although Miharu wasn't quite sure if the Mareep had Thunder Wave or not, it was better to get it out of the way first just in case. She also knew that Mareep probably had Static, which meant she would have to be careful about how she attacked.

Mareep, mad, ran up to Sneasel using Tackle. Sneasel, without a command, jumped behind Mareep, making it even madder. The Mareep turned around, huffed, and ran to Sneasel again in which Sneasel jumped again. Miharu couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. She thought Mareep was looking like a Tarous the longer this was going on. In fact, this happened several more times until Mareep was looking tired, although Sneasel still looked fairly fresh. It was then when Miharu decided to attack.

"Sneasel, leer." Sneasel leered at Mareep, causing Mareep to look away. "Scratch now." Sneasel ran forward and scratched Mareep a couple of times with her claws before she suddenly could not move in between a scratch. She was paralyzed. Mareep, seeing her/his chance, tackled Sneasel who flew towards Miharu. Miharu caught Sneasel and put her down. Sneasel glared at Mareep and practically flew towards him/her and scratched Mareep one more time. When she was paralyzed, Mareep tackled Sneasel again, but this time Sneasel held her ground. Mareep looked down in confusion, before noticing that Sneasel had dug her feet under the dirt and as such it allowed her to not fly away after the tackle. Miharu had told Sneasel to do this when she caught her. Sneasel scratched Mareep, this time dangerously close to the eyes. Mareep cried out in pain and that was when Miharu threw a pokeball at Mareep. It started shaking...
