The Realm of Darkness

Mudkip was now trotting with its head held quite high above the ground, and still very close to Travis's feet. True, it had managed to defeat a random Poocheyna, but Trav knew that was really no special feat, and so he kept smirking at the Pokemon next to him, who may have suceeded him in cocky-ness.

The route quickly dragged from exciting and new to boring and repetitive. The only Pokemon Travis saw were the bird ones that lived in surplus in the air, Rattata's tails, the sheep and the occasional Poocheyna. Nothing caught his eye. And besides the occasional hill, the landscape never fluxuated in its rolling grassland. Trav didn't want to have to battle again until he could at least see the next city, so as to preserve Mudkip's health. Meaning he wasn't going to try to capture any of the boring Pokemon anyway.

Still walking on the dirt path, hands in his pockets, one bag slung over his shoulder, sunglasses masking his eyes, the young man suddenly wished that he had snagged some food in the last town- it hadn't even crossed his mind before, but now his stomach was growling. Such a responsible guy. It didn't take long for his luck to change, though. Travis looked down at Mudkip, only to realize that it wasn't still next to him. Slight alarm pulsing through his body, he turned back and saw the mud-fish sitting on the path, staring intently into the grass. Backtracking, Travis turned his head to see what had caught Mudkip's attention. His eyebrows raised as did his impression with his partner.

"Berries! Good eye, good eye," Travis commented as he stared at the bush full of round blue berries deep in the grass. "Ladies first." He held out his hand in mock-chivalry. Mudkip squinted its face in some sort of retort but hopped up and into the grass. Unfortunately, it barely matted the grass into any sort of path, but Travis easily followed its bright blue body, grunting as his legs brushed the itchy stalks. Mudkip chriped happily once it reached the bush. Trav arrived just in time to see Mudkip's happy and about-to-nibble-a-berry face smash into the ground by the tail of a rodent with freaky, bizzare eyes. It appeared very defensive of the bush.

"Buzz off you douche!" he yelled at the hostile Pokemon, which only caused it to charge at him. "Crap, Mudkip Tackle it!" Mudkip scurried up at his master's words, his obsession with protecting Travis at full throttle, and demonstrated its surprising speed once again as it pursued the Pokemon. The rodent was sprinting at Travis, and Mudkip was sprinting after the rodent, meaning when they made contact he'd be in the way... so, he hopped a few feet to the side right as Mudkip rammed his head into the little demon, sending him past where Travis had just been.

"'Kip, Tackle it again, won't you?" But the Pokemon-which Travis identified as Patrat with his Pokedex- gracefully landed on its front feet and spun around, giving Kip a horribly menacing look with its horrible menacing eyes. Mudkip stopped its attack and cowered, which led to it recieving a second blow to the head.

"Get up 'Kip, you're better than this...let's hear your vicious Growl!" Obediently, Mudkip issued a threatening Growl, which the Patrat combatted with its Leer. They were at a stalemate, but Travis wasn't going to break ranks first.

"Hold your ground Kip, and don't stop growling." Impatiently, the Patrat started to charge, but as it got closer to Mudkip, its Tackle became slower and its audacity burned out, thanks to the Growl.

"Full power Tackle now." Once more, the Tackling Pokemon met each other head on- literally- and once more Mudkip forced his opponent back victoriously. The patrat's eyes swirled close in a faint. But now Mudkip's little blue body was heaving and its breathing was sharp and quick.

"Well, eat up- you deserve it, and you need it." Still exhausted from its battle, Mudkip began devouring every berry it could reach, and Trav helped himself to a handful as well. Soon they were contentedly filled and back on the path. That little adventure had gone quite oppositely as Travis's original plans.

OOC: Yikes, that was choppy and boring. But I kind of need to do my homework :3

*You may or may not choose to completely stop at the Rest Area, but you must at least visit it briefly

Ah, finally! You've successfully made your way through the tall grasses, and now there's a wonderfully wonderful log cabin in your plain sight. The cabin is super clean, and has that same fresh feel about it just like Amber Town's buildings did. This cabin might remind you of a ski resort, though it looks like it would better fit a warmer climate and there is a giant red P in the center, just above the doors. If you decide to go there, you can stay for the night and get rest in one of their nice comfy clean rooms on one of their nice comfy beds.

Well, whether or not you choose to stop and stay the night, you all run into some problems at this "wonderfully wonderful" rest stop. Men in dark outfits will approach you at some point when you near the area, and will force you into a Pokemon battle whether you like it or not. Sadly enough for you, their Pokemon are impeccably strong and easily wipe the floor with your Pokemon. Do your best though, don't just give in! Make the battle a good one, because I guarantee your Pokemon will gain something from this. You suffer the defeat, and maybe decide to go heal your Pokemon (yes, again) before heading back out and continuing on your way towards Citrine City.

(OOC: My Character was kinda in the middle of route 301 so he went into some trouble before he got to the rest stop if that's ok if not I'll fix.)

Garith woke up to the wind blowing in his face and the smell of fresh grass. He looked to Snivy first who was snuggled up against his right arm and Pidove was snuggled up to his left. "My first two pokemon," Garith thought. "A brave and cocky Snivy and a brash stubborn Pidove, I wouldn't have it any other way," Garith slowly and carefully got up trying not to wake up the two pokémon especially Snivy he deserved to rest he took a lot of damage. Garith went into his backpack and pulled out his blanket and wrapped Snivy and Pidove in it to make them more comfortable. Garith then reached into his pocket and grabbed his map to find the right way to go. "It seems the path to the rest stop is that way," Garith thought looking toward the right. As Garith putt his map away Snivy was waking up. "Sniiii!" Snivy moaned as he jumped out of the blanket and stretched out his body. "Morning," Garith said greeting his pokemon. "Snivy," Snivy greeted back. Snivy's attention then went to a apple dangling from a very high branch in the tree they were next to. Two vines came from Snivy's shoulders and grabbed hold of the apple and lowered it down. "Wow Snivy what attack was that?" Garith asked as he took out his pokedex. "Looks like you learned Vine Whip nice," Garith happily said as he put away his pokedex and Snivy quickly ate the apple. "Pidove!" Pidove groaned as he woke up. "Morning Pidove," Garith said as Pidove stretched and then flew into the air just above Garith's head. "Alright guys let's get going," Garith said as he picked up the blanket and put it away. Snivy jumped onto Garith's shoulder and Pidove flew up higher.

As they walked down the path to the rest stop Snivy started singing a tune which caused Pidove to land on Garith's shoulder and swayed back in forth to Snivy's song. Even Garith started to swing back in forth to the tune. As they walked past a patch of tall grass two poochyenna jumped out and both growled at Garith. "Snivy, Pidove let's get ready for battle," Garith said with a smirk on his face. Pidove flew off Garith's shoulder and Snivy jumped off to the ground. "Snivy use Vine Whip on the one on the right and Pidove gust on the one on the left," Garith commanded. Two vines flew out of Snivy's shoulder and slammed the Poochyenna on the right onto the hard ground. Pidove flapped its wings and a gust of powerful wind flew at the other Poochyenna but it jumped out of the way. The Poochyenna then flew itself at Pidove in the air and tackled him. Pidove spun in the air backwards but quickly regained its balance. The Poochyenna that had been slammed by Snivy's vines quickly squirmed from under them and lunged itself at Snivy. "Quick Pidove use gust on the Poochyenna attacking Snivy and Snivy grab the other Poochyenna with one of your vines. "Pidove!" Pidove growled as hit flapped its wings creating a powerful gust of wind flying toward the Poochyenna attacking Snivy. "Poochyenna!" The Poochyenna getting hit by the gust moaned. Snivy then sent one of his vines at the other Poochyenna grabbing it.

The other Poochyenna staggered back but regained its balance soon after. "Alright now Snivy use your other vine and grab the other one!" Garith ordered. "Sni," Snivy growled sending his other vine grabbing the Poochyenna. "Now Pidove finish this up with a gust attack!" Garith shouted. "Dove!" Pidove shouted as he started flapping his wings. "Snivy toss the Poochyennas up!" Garith commanded. As Garith said Snivy tossed up the Poochyennas in the air. "Now Pidove!" Garith yelled. Pidove then shot a powerful gust attack at the Poochyenna causing them to fly into a tree knocking them out. "alright guys good job!" Garith said congratulating his pokemon. "Pidove," Pidove said as he landed on the ground. "Snivy," Snivy said with a look on his face saying what else did you expect from me the best pokemon. "Alright return Pidove," Garith said as he took out Pidove's pokeball and a red beam of light sent Pidove going inside the pokeball. "You too Snivy I let you out later," Garith said taking out Snivy's pokeball and a red beam of light sent Snivy inside his pokeball. Garith walked down the path some more until he stopped in front of a large wooden cabin with a giant red P on it. "Looks somewhat cozy," Garith thought. "But I think I should kept moving to the rest stop but might as well mark this on my map," Garith then pulled out his map and a pen and marked where this cabin was.

Garith kept walking until he was stopped by men wearing dark outfits right before rest stop. "Excuse me," Garith said lowly and politely. The men just stood there staring evilly at him. "Please move," Garith continued now becoming irritated. "No," One man said. "Make us," The other said. "Why won't you move?" Garith asked his voice getting louder. "Beat us in a pokemon battle," One said. "No," Garith said declining the battle request. "Well to bad," The one on the right said as he tossed up his pokeball and a red black crocodile pokemon came out. "What pokemon is that?" Garith thought taking out his pokedex. "It's a Krookodile it says here it's the menacing pokemon, ground and dark type and it's a high level pokemon much stronger than both of mine and it knows dig, foul play, crunch and swagger," Garith then pulled out both of Pidove's and Snivy's pokeballs. "Look kid you can use both of your pokemon it won't make a difference," One of the men said laughingly. "Fine," Garith said angrily. "Go Snivy, Pidove!" Garith shouted as he tossed up his pokeballs and the two pokemon came out in white beams of lights as the pokeballs opened. "Snivy!" Snivy growled as he appeared from the pokeball next to Pidove. Both Pidove and Snivy backed up in fear from the Krookodile they knew they were outmatched. "It's ok guys we can win," Garith reassured his pokemon.

"You think you can win?!" One man laughed. "Krookodile use Dig!" The other man commanded. The Krookodile jumped toward the ground and dug into it. "Where did it go?" Garith said as Snivy and Pidove were becoming scared. "Krooko!" The Krookodile growled as it popped from underground and bashed into Snivy. "Snivy!" Garith yelled as Snivy flew high up in the air. "Pidove quick fly up and grab Snivy!" Garith said panic in his voice. "Krookodile don't let the Pidove get away use crunch!" One man commanded. The Krookodile then used its mouth to painfully grab a hold of Pidove to prevent him from saving Snivy from crashing into the ground. "Pidove!" Garith shouted as Pidove struggled to get out of the Krookodile's grip. As Snivy was falling Garith came up with an idea. "Snivy use Vine Whip to stop yourself from hitting the ground!" Garith commanded. As a vine shot from Snivy's shoulder he used it to hold himself up in the air. "Now use the other vine to hit Krookodile and get Pidove loose!" Garith said. Snivy then used the other vine to slam Krookodile on the head. Krookodile's mouth flew open and Pidove flew out. Snivy's vines then went back and Snivy landed on the ground. "What to do," Garith thought as he looked at Snivy and Pidove booth looked tired and in pain. "Krookodile use foul play on Snivy!" On man yelled. Krookodile disappeared for a split moment and then reappeared smashing into Snivy. "Sni!" Snivy moaned in pain as he flew through the air and landed hard on the ground.

"Now again on Pidove!" The other man yelled. The same thing that happened to Snivy happened to Pidove. "Pidove, Snivy no!" Garith yelled. "See kid you can't win your pokemon are too weak," One man said trying to mess with Garith. "No please Snivy, Pidove please get up," Garith pleaded. "Sni," Snivy lowly said as he struggled getting up. "Pidove," Pidove moaned also having a hard time getting up. "Snivy!" Snivy roared as a green aura appeared around his body. "What the?" Garith said as he pulled out his pokedex to find out what was going on. "It's Snivy's Overgrow ability, once a Snivy's heath is lowered to 1/3rd his grass power is increased by 1.5 times the original power," Garith said putting away his pokedex. Pidove also got up showing much want to win the battle. "Your pokemon have much bravery," One man in dark began. "But they can't beat our Krookodile," The Krookodile then stuck its chest out trying to show off its power. "I have a plan Pidove fly high up in the air and use gust," Garith began. "Pi," Pidove said understanding as he flew up in the air and started flapping his wings as fast and hard as he could. The winds started blowing so fast it created a mini tornado surrounding the Krookodile and causing dirt, grass and twigs to fly throughout the air. "Great now Snivy with your power boost Vine whip is stronger now use it while Krookodile is distracted," Garith ordered. "What's going on?!" One man in dark yelled unable to see through the twigs and dirt. "I can't tell Krookodile!" The other said. Krookodile unable see due to the twigs and dirt flying everywhere in the heart of the mini tornado

Snivy's vines then started whipping the Krookodile from all different directions. "Keep it up!" Garith shouted hoping this would change the course of battle. Snivy kept hitting the Krookodile with everything he got until he became to tired to continue. Tired Snivy stopped whipping and also tired Pidove stopped flapping his wings. "Great now that we're able to see how are you holding up Krookodile?" The men in the dark asked their pokemon. "Krookodile!" Krookodile shouted feeling ready for more battle. A sudden pain came over Krookodile in the leg causing it to stagger back some and kneel on its hurt leg. "We did some actual damage," Garith said happily. "Now you've done it!" One man growled. "Use dig!" The other yelled. Krookodile again jumped into the ground and disappeared. The ground under Pidove started caving in as Krookodile began to jump from underground. "Pidove move!" Garith yelled. Pidove quickly flapped his wings and glided out of the way. "Krookodile use crunch now!" The men in dark yelled. Krookodile as it jumped out of the hole it made in the ground quickly lunged itself at Pidove and grabbed a hold of him with his mouth and crunching down on him. "Pidove!" Pidove shouted in pain. "Now toss him at the Snivy and use foul play!" The men continued. Then Krookodile did exactly what they said it tossed Pidove into Snivy causing them to flew through air. Then it used foul play again and disappeared for a moment and slammed into Snivy and Pidove.

As they landed from the hit Pidove was unable to get back up, but Snivy still had fight in him. "Snivy just stay down," Garith said as he started to tear up. Snivy didn't listen he wanted to win for Garith he wanted to prove he was strong. "Oh it still has some fight in it," One man said smirking. "Use dig," The men ordered. As Krookodile went underground Garith ran toward Snivy and covered him and Pidove with his body as Krookodile busted out from underground and slammed into Garith causing him to fly into a nearby tree. "Come on this kid's done," One man said as he took out his pokeball and was about to return Krookodile to its pokeball. Until Snivy jumped out of Garith's arms and used Vine whip on the Krookodile. "Snivy!" Snivy roared he could barely stand up. "Snivy please," Garith pleaded as Snivy used Vine whip again. "Krookodile finish this foolish Snivy with Foul play," One man said. Krookodile smirking disappeared as slammed into Snivy as it reappeared. "Snivy!" Snivy moaned as he flew into the air. Garith quickly ran up to where Snivy was going to land and he caught him. "Alright now let's go," One man said returning Krookodile into its pokeball. As the men left Garith checked the condition of his pokemon. "Snivy, Pidove you guys did your best return," Garith said pulling out both of there pokeballs and red beams of light beamed them inside the pokeballs. "They're both knocked out," Garith said as he brushed himself off. His right leg was in pain from taking the Krookodile's dig attack causing him to limp. "I need to get to the cabin," Garith thought as he pulled out his map to find out where to go. "This way," Garith said as he started limping down the path he came from putting away his map.

Garith limped for a few moments until the pain grew too much for him and he fell over on his back in the middle of the path. "Gotta keep going," Garith said as he got up and started running ignoring the pain. As he reached the cabin with the large red P he ran in hoping inside someone would be able to heal his pokemon. As Garith walked into the cabin he saw someone at a counter somewhat placed in the middle of the cabin. He ran toward the counter worried that Snivy and Pidove's conditions might be getting worse. "Hello," He began, sounding sick. "My pokemon need immediate attention," He finished as he pulled out his pokeballs and handed to the woman at the counter. "We'll make sure they get the best care but what about you, you look pretty banged up yourself," The woman said. "Thanking aaa..." Garith started. "Nurse Joy," The woman said. "Well thank you nurse joy I'll be find just take care of my pokemon," Garith said. "Alright but here is a key to one of our rooms please for your own health and your pokemon stay here for the night," Nurse Joy said giving Garith a key to a room and walking off with his pokeballs.

Once she was out of view Garith's leg gave out and he started limping again. Instead of going to the room he limped to a couch placed near the counter. "I hope they'll be alright," Garith thought as he sat down he facial expression now sad and depressing.

"Excuse me, would you trade something fluffy for an Onix?"

"What?"

"I've got an Onix and I would like something fluffy," Daphne said hopefully to the first passer-by she'd found. Actually, sorta stalked… She'd been keeping an eye out for people all day but apparently no one wanted to walk the route that day until she'd spotted a head full of blonde curls walking a few hundred meters ahead of her. Of course she'd followed it.

"Ehm, no," the guy said. She'd realized he was a guy right after she saw his blonde curls. He was kinda cute too, with blue eyes and dimples in his cheeks. Actually he was really cute, far cuter than that Professor anyway, and that Professor had been so rude. Oh but he did have a cleft chin, or butt chin as Daphne liked to call them, and she didn't like it that much. But really, if you weighed it all the-

"Excuse me, I asked you something!"

Daphne blinked. "Oh," she'd been so in thoughts she hadn't heard him. "Say what?"

He sighed. "Why would you ask such a thing? Just coming up to strangers and asking them to trade with you, it's kind of suspicious," He narrowed his eyes a little. "Especially without introducing yourself first."

"Oh, I'm Daphne Georgopoulos," she said quickly. "And, you see, I was never going to have an Onix! I was supposed to get this really cute Minccino and then we'd live happily ever after with rainbows and ponies and stuff and we'd become Pokémon masters and I'd totally own, but then I guess I picked the wrong Pokéball and it contained an Onix and then that nasty Professor won't let me get the Minccino and," she took a deep breath, as all of that had pretty much been said in one of those necessary breaths. "Now I want something cute!"

"Ooookay," the guy said.

"Oh no, you think I'm crazy! I'm not crazy!"

"I'm… sure you're not crazy…" he looked side to side, trying to find any way out of talking to this obviously loony person. "I'm just not the right person, gottagobye!"

"But you haven't told me your name yet!" Daphne said quickly, stepping into his escape route. "It's only common courtesy, you know!"

"Alright, fine," he sighed, feeling rather defeated. "It's Tyler Smith, though call me Ty please." Another sigh. "Well, might as well have a battle. You'll see, maybe this Onix isn't so bad after all."

"Oh I already know he's awesome, he pretty much killed all these Patrats just down the road," Daphne said excitedly. "But I don't want something that flings these little rats against trees and smashes them and roars and then they're all gone! I want something cute that'll keep me warm at night," she pouted as she said so. "But alright, a battle it is, come out Ugly!"

Onix materialized, looking incredibly huge next to the tinier than average human he didn't like to call his trainer. It was a little better with the other human, he was at least two heads taller than his trainer, which wasn't so difficult to be. He glared at the guy a little, he didn't like him much, the one with the hobbit-hair looked far too sly, and Onix didn't like how Daphne looked at him at all.

"Oh that's… big," Ty whistled low, impressed with the snake. But he was more frightened about that quite stupid and silly girl with such a monster. "Alright then, Jigsaw it's your turn!" He released a Zubat in the air. The two Pokémon locked eyes and you could feel the lightning cackle in the air.

"Alright Jigsaw, use astonish!"

"Onix, beat it to pulp!" Daphne cheered and Onix planned to do just that. Before the Zubat could even try to produce a Supersonic a piercing screeched filled the ears of all standing by. Daphne and Ty each covered their ears but Jigsaw was not so lucky. He cringed in pain for the duration of the shriek but as soon as Onix stopped he formed a tiny red ball at his mouth and shot it at Onix, who cringed in pain.

Onix' respond was to swing his tail in Zubat's direction, even though it was easily dodged by the latter. He tried again and this time his tail connected with the feeble bat, sending it toppling to the ground. He moved his tail to try and smash the Zubat again but the little creature barely escaped being bludgeoned to death, or more likely fainting as this is the Pokemon world.

"What are you doing?" Ty demanded and Daphne blinked innocently. She'd just been standing by, balancing back and forth on her toes and heels and watching Onix live out his violent needs.

"Whatever do you mean?"

"Aren't you going to control your Onix?!" Ty demanded furiously. "Your Pokémon just almost crushed mine!"

"Nonsense, most of Zubat's body's made of, what's the stuff called, carto… cartoon…"

"Cartilage."

"Right! Most of it's made of cartilage anyway, there's hardly anything to crush!"

"Ehm, no, Jigsaw definitely has bones. Either way you're the responsible one! As a trainer you're supposed to command your Pokémon and keep them in line!" He scolded. "If you don't do something about this I'm going to have to inform the League!"

"But… but… I thought only officials informed the League," Daphne said with a quivering lip. "So if I'd just stay clear of those I'd be fine."

Ty facepalmed. "Just so you know, my father's on the League board, but that still doesn't make it alright for you to treat your and other's Pokémon this way!"

"See!" Daphne said brightly. "It is just the officials I've got to watch out for!" This merited another facepalm from Ty.

"Daphne…" he had a warning in his voice. "This could cost you your trainer's license and perhaps a prison sentence, so I'd suggest you mend your ways."

"But… how?" She whined a little like a child. Onix was growing increasingly impatient in the mean time and started to tap his tail on the ground.

Ty sighed once more. "You have to give your Pokémon the orders and not let them just move on their own! Do you even know his moves?"

"Yes! … No…"

"It's in your Pokédex," he said with another sigh. Sheesh the guy sure sighed a lot. As Daphne checked the Pokédex Ty recalled Jigsaw. "No way in hell I'll let her loose on you buddy," he muttered though Daphne was oblivious to it all. When she looked up from her Pokédex she blinked.

"Where did Jiggy go?"

"Jiggy?" Ty raised his eyebrow.

"Yes! Your Zubat! Where did he go?"

"Oh, Jigsaw went back into his Pokéball, we'll be practicing on a wild Pokémon first, if that's alright with you."

"Oh… Alright, how about that one!" She pointed at a Mareep grazing nearby.

That poor thing… Ty thought but nodded anyway. "Alright the Mareep will do, now tell your Onix to engage."

"Okay! Onix, engage in battle with the Mareep!" Onix stormed at the Mareep more quickly than you'd think a giant rock snake capable of and swung his tail violently at the sheep, who got pelleted a few meters and crashed into a tree with a faint "MEEEEEEEH"

"No, no, no, no, NO!" Ty snapped. You cannot just let him knock everything that MOVES!"

"O-Ok," Daphne said, her lip once again quivering and eyes starting to water.

"Look," Ty said, softening a little bit to the sad-looking girl. "Just give him a command now that you know the moves. Look the Mareeps already returning!" And it was true, the Mareep came running, or more like prancing actually, toward the Onix. It was like it ran in mini-jumps, it was terribly cute. Jump, jump, jump, SPLAT. It connected with Onix on a full-head tackle of weak power and Onix didn't even flinch. He lifted his tail to smack Mareep to the surface and Ty warned, "Daphne!"

"Alright, alright, Onix STOP!" Onix stopped midair, looking at Daphne questioningly. Mareep just backed up a few meters and tackled Onix again, who looked like he didn't even feel it."Okay, okay, okay," her brain was racing as she tried to think of a move, at the same time she shook her hand at the wrist, a nervous habit when she didn't know what to do.

"Try tackle," Ty supplied.

"Onix, use tackled!" Onix almost smiled as he moved his head backwards and then used the momentum to propel it forward toward the Mareep who had launched another tackle of its own. Onix' head connected and pretty much bored the Mareep into the ground. Another weak "MEEEEH" could be heard, muffled under Onix' head. "How is that any less brutal when I command it?!" Daphne cried.

"It… it just is," Ty didn't even really know the answer to that either, but when Onix removed his head the Mareep seemed to still be standing, albeit dizzy. It pranced toward Onix, resuming its tackle, though instead of in a straight line it went kind of zig-zaggy and had barely any power into the tackle at all.

"Ehm, alright Onix, use that neat schreechey-thing you just used and then use the muddy thing I read about and finish it!" It was a miracle Onix understood. Both humans covered their ears as Onix screeched like a banshee, then he used its tail to propel a stream of mud at the Mareep at such a speed that the poor sheep was actually thrown back a couple of meters and landed on its back. It outed a feeble "meeeeh" as it moved its paws in the air before giving up on movement in general.

"AWESOME!" Daphne jumped in the air in victory and ran toward the Onix, Ty following her in a walk, with a semi-permanent facepalm. "HIGHFIVE Onix!" She held out her hand and Onix pretty much bumped it with his head which made her arm shake at the core from his power. "We did gooood!"

"Alright, so why don't you catch it, it's fluffy," Ty suggested by Daphne shook her head.

"Did you see how easily Onix beat it?!" She asked. "Why would I want something that weak?"

Ty sighed, retrieved a Pokéball and threw it at the Mareep. "I feel like I owe it to him," Ty explained, feeling infinitely sorry for the poor sheep. Indeed infinitely so.

And in the mean time Daphne was partying it up with her Onix. Who, of course, she didn't like at all.

No really.

Seriously though, she doesn't like Onix ONE BIT.

Odessa could see the rest stop, just barely visible in the full dark that had surrounded her since the Poochyena ordeal. She was ecstatic that she would be able to get Ω and Ana restored, the last battle had left both of them in miserable condition.

She was within the glow of the light seeping through the cracks of the door to the rest area when a man dressed in black stopped her. Odessa wasn't sure what he wanted so she tried to step around, "Do you want something?" she asked, slightly irritated.

"I would like to battle" he said, holding out a Pokeball.

"And I would like a million dollars, too bad neither is gonna happen" she said, letting a little venom into her voice. "I'm being a jerk" she thought vaguely, "But Ω and Ana can't fight right now" she thought.

"Let me rephrase that, I will battle, and you will be my opponent" he said in a mocking tone.

Odessa thought for a moment, he wasn't going to just let her go, "One sec" she said, hoping that she was right.

She searched through her bag, the entire contents, old gum wrappers, an empty water bottle, a really old crushed up muffin, "I need to clean this thing out more" she thought, sorting through the junk and trash. Eventually she found what she had been looking for, a potion, a few crumbs of a crushed cheese curl stuck to it.

She released Ana from her ball, Ω wouldn't get any benefit from the potion since he had already fainted while battling the Poochyena, and sprayed her, most of the wounds from the previous battle healing where the potion touched, when she was done Ana only had a scratch or two.

"Alright, if you want leave without a battle then let us battle" she said, a little annoyance in her voice.

He threw his ball into the air, and out popped a huge reddish crocodile with a white stomach, and black horizontal stripes across its back.

Odessa took out her PokeDex and learned it was called a Waruvial, upon that the one she was battling was apparently female and it was level 45.

Odessa gave the Waruvial a look, "Well, their may be a chance in hell" she thought morosely, while Ana stepping out onto the field.

Odessa gave the first move, "Quick attack" Ana rushed and hit the Waruvia directly, a little below its neck, and backed off.

The move hadn't done a thing, "Again" shouted Odessa, and a repeat performance ensued, no visible damage done even with a direct hit.

The man laughed, "Waruvial, crunch" he said, half-laughing through the command. The Waruvial grabbed Ana in its jaws and shook her about before launching her towards the wall of the rest stop.

Ana was knocked out in one hit, Odessa wasn't sure whether to be angry at this guy for camping a spot new trainers would obviously be passing by, or angry at herself for not suspecting someone like this to begin with. She settled on a middle road, and went to talk to the man, "Good fight, its so very impressive when its so one-sided" she said with false cheer.

She left the man out in the dark, her thoughts wondering over how hard it would be to break his fingers in the door of the rest stop. She walked up to what appeared to be a receptionist counter, "I need to have my Pokemon healed, some jerk outside wouldn't let me in without a very one-sided battle" she explained, the women gave her an odd look, "I'll take your Pokemon, also if you need somewhere to stay theirs a room, 2nd to last door on the left" she said, taking Ω and Ana's Pokeballs when Odessa offered them and pointing down a hallway.

"Thank you" Odessa said, going down to the room. She opened the door and was met with a medium-sized room with a desk and table, a night stand, and a bed. Odessa set her bag down on the desk and laid on the bed, not feeling comfortable going to sleep without her Pokemon she waited until the women knocked on her door, "Your Pokemon are healed if you want them" she said, holding out a tray with Ω and Ana's Pokeballs on it.

"Thank you again" Odessa said, taking the two balls off the tray. "Have a good night" the women said, before walking down the hall without waiting for a response. Odessa smiled and let Ω and Ana out of their respective Pokeballs. She lay on the bed and the two fought for spots on the bed with her, Ana eventually ending up at the foot of the bed while Ω fell asleep on top of Odessa's stomach.

About 1 hour had passed since Axis and Mark had done some practicing of their own, albeit practicing of a different sort. But finally exhausted they stopped. Axis had already figured out some key movements. They figured it was time to find some dinner, but first they wanted to go back to their room and get some water from all that workout.

However their progress was impeded by 3 large burly men, all wearing black cloaks.

"Excuse me…" Mark said, careful not to stare these men in the face.

"I don't think you'll be going anywhere." One of them said, grabbing Mark's arm tightly. Seeing this Axis reacted and was about to attack the man when the same man released a pokemon with his other hand. That pokemon blocked Axis and held him with his hands too.

"Let go!" Mark yelled, unfortunately he was behind the cabin area, so no one would have seen this confrontation, much less heard it.

Then the man started to act more casual and icily more friendly. He let go of his arm, (his right arm too!) his pokemon following suit.

Mark would have ran, but now he realised he had been flanked by these three men, whoever they were.

"Now now, I just want to have a pokemon fight, to see how pathetic your pokemon really is." The man with the pokemon said.

Mark clenched his teeth in anger, his head was already spinning, not only from the lack of energy, but the situation he was now in.

"AXIS IS NOT PATHETIC!" Mark yelled, his frustration finally out, all the emotions of previous things occurring, his parent's divorce, the move, missing his friends, and missing being able to dance, it all came out.

"THEN PROVE IT!" The man roared, he stepped back a bit creating an open area - a makeshift pokemon field. "Waruvial use dig!"

Mark, being quite distraught, attempted to compose himself, he didn't want to see his pokemon get hurt, yet clearly he was dealing with a fight from another level. He watched as their Waruvial dug under the ground. Both he and Axis were just as confused as to where it could be.

"Use foresight!" Yelled Mark, almost desperately.

The move was somewhat effective however, Axis moved out of the way of a full on attack from the Waruvial but Axis was still lifted into the air.

Mark was breathing heavily… What can I do, he thought. I can't stand Ax getting hurt like this, yet they're not giving me a choice…

"You can do it Axis, stand up and tackle it!" Mark yelled again, trying to reinvigorate courage in his only pokemon.

It seemed to have worked (or it could have just been Axis' personality too), needless to say he lunged at the Waruvial. However, it easily dodged the attack countering with a crunch. The pokemon bit down Axis right leg, causing the pokemon to flinch in pain.

"Aww how cute," the masked man simpered, "fighting until you can no longer fight, this fight bores me, Waruvial, finish him off."

"SHUT UP!" Mark screamed now, unable to contain himself, forgetting about pokemon battling he began to run up to the masked man, only to be stopped by his hood by the flanked man behind him.

In the brief confusion, Axis had decided to use Fake out, causing the Waruvial to flinch.

While struggling against the one cloaked man, Mark watched as the man with the pokemon had Axis in another crunch grab thus ending the battle, Axis now unable to battle, unmoving on the ground.

"You're sick!" Mark yelled again "Preying on new trainers…"

The man approached Mark before he answered him, Mark being restrained, was unable to move.

"Let's just say," he lifted Mark's chin up to his cold eyes with a finger, "it was a test… and you passed."

He laughed heartily, "come on boys, more people to catch up on." The man restraining him threw him down, Mark's head hitting a rock as he fell – blacking out in the process the last image he saw was that of his unconscious pokemon.

***

Mark woke up suddenly, feeling himself to be on a stretcher, he raised his body and to his dismay became dizzy as a result. He felt where he hit his head, there was a bandage now in its place, encircling his head.

"Axis!" He cried out.

"Oh good you're awake," a doctor appeared in the room, "you're pokemon is fine, and you will see him shortly."

"That was a nasty fall you had there." He said.

"Fall?! I was attacked… me and my pokemon were attacked!" Mark reasoned.

"Ha, nonsense there was no reports of an attack, witnesses say the saw you and your pokemon unconscious, no doubt from a brawl you two were probably having…"

"What?" Mark said, confused.

"Relax, you're injury is still fresh, but right now I suggest you sleep the night here, I'll have the doctors bring up your pokemon up soon." The man left the room.

Despite Mark's yearning to get up, he felt quite tired, and before he knew it, he was asleep again…

The glass doors slid into an unseen crevice in the pristine wooden wall, and Trav was so glad for the air conditioning in the Pokemon Center. He handed his sole Pokeball containing a PocketMonster to the cheerful nurse behind the wooden counter, who joyfully promised that the Mudkip would be healed quickly. In the meanwhile, he should have a seat and a look at some of the magazines. But Travis had his eyes on something else.

Cooly sliding into a chair, he turned to the girl next to him. She had elegant brown curls draping down from her head and bright blue eyes which were scanning a lame magazine. And not to forget, her shirt was dangerously low, and her shorts were dangerously high. Time to go fishing.

"There's nothing quite as fascinating as Pokenutrition," he commented politely but still sarcastically, having seen the cover of her magazine. The bait was in place. Her bright eyes flickered up to Travis's.

"Tell me about it. I was expecting some tips on keeping my Skarmory thin, not a lullaby." Yes, she nibbled! Chuckling, Travis responded:

"You know, I really can't imagine an obese Skarmory." She giggled. "Just have it follow your regimen, and it'll look dazzling." Blushing, the girl broke eye contact and glanced up at the counter, though the nurse was not there. She turned back with a new air of confidence in her eyes.

"I'm Kylie."

"And I didn't even have to ask for the name! You and me could get along quite nicely. I'm Travis."

"We'd be here all day before you grew the balls to ask," Kylie teased, raising her delicate brows and grinning. Dang, the girl had his sense of humor! "Nice to meet you, though, Travis." She paused for a moment. "So do you only have one Pokemon with you, or only one that needs healing?" Perfect.

"Well, apparently someone has had her eyes on me for a bit. I just got my first Pokemon from the Professor in Amber Town- it's a Mudkip. But I'm actually from Kanto, and just happen to be the League runner-up there, so I'm not some newbie trainer," Travis rambled arrogantly.

"Well well Mr. Bigshot-" The nurse's voice suddenly sounded through speakers in the room:

"TJ's Mudkip is all healed and ready to go!" Shrugging, he stood up and walked to the front counter, snatching his Pokeball from the still-smiling nurse. Travis returned to his seat next to Kylie, spinning the ball between his index finger and thumb.

"Sorry, I didn't know these places played favorites," he mock-apologized with a sympathetic expression.

"What are you talking about?" Kylie asked with a small laugh.

"You were here first, but my Pokemon was healed first. Probably 'cuz I'm hotter." Her bright eyes rolled 360 degrees.

"I've got five that-" Kylie stopped midsentence, her now-wide eyes staring at the door. Looking in that direction, Travis noticed a tall man wearing black sunglasses and long coat walk in the Pokemon Center. He barely glanced around before quickly walking to the two teens.

"Daddy..." The man took off his sunglasses, revealing eyes that were identical to Kylie's.

"Who is this?" her father asked, hardly masking the hostility in his voice with curiosity. Travis sat up straight. He really thought they were moving too fast- meeting the parents already? He didn't even know her last name!

"I'm Travis sir. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir...?" The man gruffed without shaking the boy's hand or responding to his greeting.

"Daddy, Travis is an apsiring trainer from Kanto..." Ignoring her, the man glanced at the doors.

"Excuse me, I'll be right back. Please hurry and round up your team, Kylie." And he went back outside. Kylie looked into Travis's dark eyes with an expression of despair.

"Daddy hates when I talk to boys; you might say I'm forbidden, or something." Quite visibly, Trav's chiseled jaw dropped. A brief awkward silence followed.

"...well I'm just gonna be on my way then." Kylie was frowning, but nodded understandingly.

---
Meanwhile, outside the Pokemon Center...

Three people- two men and a woman- wearing dark outfits formed a semi-circle around Kylie's mysterious father, who was speaking in a rushed but hushed tone.

"The boy is looking to defile my angel- I can see the lust in his snake-eyes. If you gentlemen could roughen him up a bit, I might just misplace this." He held a wad of neatly folded and binded money, which he slipped into the pocket of the hoodlum next to him. All three of the devious-looking people smirked.

---
The glass doors slid open once more, though for who it would be hard to tell, since Travis was walking out at the same time Kylie's father was walking in. Travis paused.

"Well sir, I best be on my way..." The man actually acknowledged him this time, smiling kindly.

"That's alright son. Have a safe journey." He then passed into the building, probably to collect his hot daughter. But Trav had goosebumps now...was it that too kind of a smile? Whatever, Travis just wanted to get back on the path again. After maybe ten steps he was stopped though, by a very round, pudgy woman with two dark braids on the back of her head and in dark clothing.

"Where do you think you're going, doll-face?" Her fat lips curled into a smile, and Travis could almost feel the wind from the rollercoaster-ride his stomach was on. The woman was truly disturbing. But before he could respond, a giant red crocodile Pokemon was in front of him. Quickly glancing at his Pokedex, Travis learned that it was a Waruvial. A strong one.

He unhitched Mudkip's Pokeball from his belt, and held it up to his lips.

"I know he's big 'Kip... I know he's strong... and I know he's scary," he whispered to the Pokeball, his heart in overdrive. But still the boy managed a smile. "But you're undefeated 'Kip, and no hog of a lady is gonna stand in the way of that." The red light materialized, and Mudkip was already in an aggresive stance. The ugly lady's smile doubled in size and grossness.

"Crunch this wimpy bugger up!" she cackled, giving her orders with a dramatic swipe of her chunky arm. The red monster started charging, its mouth wide open, showing off its rows and rows of jagged teeth. Travis was frightened by this, and he couldn't even imagine what poor 'Kip was feeling.

"Mudslap in its face, and then Tackle!" Yeah, 'Kip had learned a new move moments before the two had reached the Pokemon Center. But it'd only used the move once.

Using its tail, Mudkip smacked at the ground. A few clumps of mud soared into the Waruvial's eyes, who hadn't even tried to dodge, and who continued its attack despite being partially blinded by the mud splattered on its face. Mudkip quickly got up to speed and had its head down, ready to Tackle. The Waruvial aimed its gaping mouth surprisingly to the left of Mudkip and clenched it right as Mudkip jumped and slammed its head into Waruvial's. The fat lady gasped; she hadn't expected her attack to be so inaccurate.

"Clean your face!" she barked haughtily. "Foul Play!"

"Tackle again!" The red beast scraped with its massive claws at its eyes, while it recieved another charged yet minimal blow to its back from Mudkip. Having cleared most of the mud away, the Waruvial suddenly vanished in a black haze and appeared instantly afterwards in mid-attack right behind Mudkip.

"Behind you Kip!" But nothing could save the poor mud-fish, since before Travis had even finished his warning poor Mudkip was sent crashing into the dirt, its eyes swirled into a faint. Quickly he summoned his Pokemon to its ball, seeing that the lady had ordered her Waruvial to Crunch its fainted body. She cackled again, seeing the alarm in his face.

"Crunch the boy then!" Having covered half of the distance between itself and Travis (who was sprinting back to the Pokemon Center), the Waruvial was recalled in a red light.

Once in the Pokemon Center, Travis turned and looked through the glass doors. A man, tall and lean and outfitted darkly, was clearly yelling at the fat lady, a Pokeball in his hand. Once again, Travis handed his Pokeball to the nurse, but this time he informed her that there was some shady villains outside and implored her to call the law enforcement. He sat back in the same chair, though sadly the one next to him was empty. Though in reality she was the reason he had been in the situation.

I picked up the pokeball and noticed Miharu doing the same, so I assumed she had also caught something. I noticed the Pidove I had caught was a female. I was a little disappointed with that because Valiant was not a female name, and the male evolutions looked better, but I would survive. I named the Pidove Dove and walked over to Miharu. "What'dja catch?" I asked.

"A Mareep." She responded simply, and we started walking again. It wasn't long until we made it to a log cabin, which I took to be the rest stop. We walked inside and healed our pokemon. I decided to go sit outside for a little while and I left Miharu inside.

As soon as I got outside, I knew there was something wrong. Zorua sniffed the air and I heard a voice say "Bad!" I looked at Zorua in surprise, "Did you say that?" I had no time to receive a reply as a Krookodile jumped in front of me.

Zorua gave a little cry and Miharu walked outside, then Zorua quickly transformed into Krookodile and gave a little laugh before changing back. "Krookodile, use Dig." A man appeared from the trees as the Krookodile went underground.

"Zorua, transform into Pidove." Zorua leaped into the air, glowed purple and transformed into a Pidove that looked exactly like Dove. He flew into the air and Krookodile reappeared, only to hit air. Zorua landed on the top of a tree and changed back. "Tackle!" Zorua began leaping from tree to tree, before vanishing. This caused some confusion for the Krookodile, and Zorua appeared from above and slammed into him. The Krookodile reared around and knocked Zorua away with its tail.

"Use Swagger." Krookodile then seemed to get fairly arrogant and I could tell it made Zorua mad, but then there was a weird gleam in his eyes as he got confused. I cursed slightly under my breath.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Miharu grabbing one of her pokeballs and letting out a Mareep. I also saw a flash of red as Miharu took out her pokedex and raised an eyebrow at whatever she saw. She glanced at me and stated calmly,

"We are going to lose."

I was shocked, although I tried not to show it. Before I could say anything, Miharu commanded her Mareep to tackle the Krookodile. Krookodile didn't even seem to feel it and as such, I decided that it was time to check the Krookodile with the pokedex myself. When I saw the level I was shocked again and I could see where Miharu was coming from.

The level of the Krookodile was 45. I closed the pokedex and put it back in my pocket. We may have had no chance of winning, but it was worth a shot, plus it might help to stall for time. "Zorua, use your ability to transform into Krookodile." Zorua jumped, glowed purple and transformed. It wouldn't confuse the Krookodile, but maybe its trainer.

"Krookodile use Crunch." Krookodile turned towards Zorua and started snapping wildly at him, Zorua was too confused to dodge.

"Snap out of it and use Scratch!" Zorua shook his head wildly, seeming to regain his senses and clawing at Krookodile. The Krookodile used Crunch again and Zorua fainted, reverting to his original form.

I grabbed my pokeball, this time letting out Dove. I could see Miharu glancing at Dove and I wondered what she was planning. "Dove, gust!" Dove rose into the sky, waving her wings; creating a burst of wind heading straight for Krookodile.

"Mareep, jump into Dove's gust and use Tackle."

I blinked in surprise. It seems she was using almost the same thing I was when I told Zorua to ride the wind. Mareep dived into the wind and spun around, then used gust's momentum to throw herself at the Krookodile and she managed to thrust herself into the belly. When Mareep was falling out of the way, the gust hit the same spot too. I could see that Krookodile winced before hitting Mareep with his tail and sending Mareep flying back into Miharu. Miharu had managed to catch Mareep as she was flying towards her and Miharu set Mareep down. I narrowed my eyes, remembering when we battled. Miharu had caught Sneasel when they battled and gave Sneasel commands without anyone hearing. I wondered what Miharu could have told Mareep. I saw Miharu looking at Krookodile and almost...grinning. I looked at Krookodile closely. He was unable to move...he was paralyzed! I grinned as well. At least we had some sort of a fighting chance.

"Dove, use Gust and try to send Krookodile into the air!" Dove only had one move, so I figured i'd make the most of it. She flapped her wings and created a large swirl of wind, causing the already helpless Krookodile to spin and rise in the air a foot or two. "Now, get below him and keep using Gust!" Dove flew in below Krookodile's feet and started flapping her wings wildly. Krookodile continued to rise until he was about thirty feet in the air. When he reached that height, Dove stopped using Gust and Krookodile began to fall.

I could see the Krookodile's trainer's face harden. "Krookodile, use dig on the way down."

Krookodile flipped in mid air, now facing head down with his claws out. When Krookodile reached the ground, he started digging vehemently and went underground. I could see Miharu's eyes narrowed. It was obvious that the Krookodile was going after Mareep due to the fact that Dove would not be hit. I could see Miharu's eyes narrow before she closed her eyes completely. There were a few moments of silence, then Miharu's eyes snapped open and she glanced at Dove.

"Krookodile is going to use Crunch on Dove while coming out from underground!" she exclaimed.

When what Miharu stated sunk in and before I could get a word in edgewise, it was too late. Krookodile had already, suddenly, came up through the ground and reached where Dove was and chomped down on Dove's leg. Dove shrieked in pain and they both fell down the ground. I cursed and grabbed Dove's pokeball. "Return!" I exclaimed. Dove was sent to her pokeball and I realized it was all up to Miharu now. I stepped back slightly and watched from the sidelines. Without me even noticing, Miharu had tied her hair up, something I remembered she did at the Sinnoh Finals when she got serious. I narrowed my eyes and waited for whatever was going to happen.

Miharu hadn't made a move in a few minutes, and I could see the man getting annoyed. Two minutes later, it seemed he couldn't take it any longer and shouted; "Why haven't you attacked yet?!"

Miharu raised an eyebrow. "Krookodile has Crunch, Dig, Swagger and another move that we, I, do not know yet. If I tell my Mareep to Tackle, stupid attacker is probably going to tell Krookodile to use Crunch, or just let Krookodile swing his tail at Mareep. By waiting, stupid attacker is probably going to get annoyed and use Dig, in which case I can always just predict where Krookodile is coming out next. With Swagger, all I have to do is tell Mareep not to get angry to what Krookodile is saying." I could not help but chuckle at what Miharu had called the man. "Stupid attacker" does seem to be a good nickname though.

The man's face darkened as he seemed to get angrier. "You…!"

Miharu shrugged, smirking slightly. "Stupid attacker seems to have anger issues. Perhaps I could recommend him to a good group? Although, I highly doubt there are any groups for 'stupid attackers that attack children and teenagers for no apparent reason'. Hmm…their initials could be SATACATFNAR." As Miharu was antagonizing the guy who is attacking us, I wondered how Miharu was able to tell where Krookodile was going to do and where he was coming out. In fact, she even said something about if Krookodile uses dig she could predict where Krookodile was coming out next. As I pondered this, I came back into focus in time to see the man's face darkened. I could already tell that Miharu had said something that went past his limited as the man screamed in rage;

"KROOKODILE, SMASH THAT MAREEP INTO THAT STUPID GIRL NOW!" Krookodile nodded, running towards Mareep and twisting, the tail slamming into Mareep who flew into Miharu. Although I could see that she had already tensed and was ready to catch her Mareep, the power Krookodile used was apparently large and Miharu as well as Mareep went flying through the air and there was a very loud crack as Miharu's head and back hit a tree behind her. I could see Mareep was limp, hopefully not dead, in front of her. I was worried about Miharu, I was not liking that loud crack I heard, and was about to run up to Miharu to check on her when she, slowly, reached for a pokeball and returned Mareep. She shakily stood up, using the tree as a support. When she stood up on both of her two feet, she let go of the tree and glared contemptuously at the man. The absolute hatred and anger in her eyes made me flinch slightly, although I tried not to show it.

Miharu had grabbed another one of her pokeballs and let out her Sneasel, who looked worried when she first glanced at Miharu. I could see her looking around, trying to find out what had happened to her trainer when she noticed the man and the Krookodile and I could see Sneasel's eyes narrow. When I glanced back at the man, there was a big, satisfied smirk on his face as he leered at Miharu. "Not so tough now, are you?"

Miharu smirked venomously. As I looked closer, I could see blood matting her black hair. She was bleeding from the back of her head; which was not good. "We shall see about that. Sneasel, Quick Attack, then follow it up with Scratch at his eyes." Sneasel nodded, becoming a blur as she ran up to Krookodile. She hit Krookodile in the stomach after the next few seconds, then jumped up and scratched Krookodile in the eyes. Krookodile roared in pain as Sneasel did so, using one of his arms to bat Sneasel away, who was already on the ground, while using another one to grab his eyes. The man's satisfied face fell as he realized that Miharu was still able to battle, and battle well apparently. I glanced at Miharu to see how she was doing with the blood loss. She was starting to sway slightly at her spot, but I could see that her eyes were still completely focused on the battle. "Sneasel, use taunt."

Sneasel insulted Krookodile in their language, probably meaning every insult she said. Krookodile roared again, this time in anger, and tried to smash Sneasel with his tail. Sneasel and Miharu looked fairly amused when the tail missed by several inches; I know I was laughing slightly inwardly. The man tried to calm down, was unable too, the anger vivid in his face. "Krookodile, use Dig!" Krookodile nodded, digging underground. I had saw Miharu close her eyes, probably to tell where Krookodile is again. After a few minutes, Miharu's eyes snapped open. "Sneasel, jump to the left."

Sneasal jumped to the left in time as Krookodile had immerged from the ground. The man smirked and I knew that Miharu had fallen into some sort of trap. I could tell Miharu had noticed it too and her eyes widen slightly. "The ground…"

When Sneasel landed down, the ground crumbled from underneath her and she fell underground. Krookodile went back underground and we could hear some sorts of noises from underground. After a few minutes, there was silence and Sneasel burst out of the ground, passed out. Miharu cursed in a language I didn't know and recalled Sneasel. The man smirked as Krookodile unearthed itself from underground. "Now Krookodile, deal with those pesky children by using Crunch. Be sure to torture that girl in particular." I wondered if this was it; that I was going to die at the age of thirteen by some random, insane guy that just randomly decided to battle us. I glanced at Miharu and saw her smirking. I wondered what she had planned.

"Stupid attacker should not attack, well too late for that one, or kill us," Miharu stated.

The man leered at her. "And why shouldn't I?"

Yes, I wondered, why shouldn't he? Although I would be so glad if he didn't, but why shouldn't he kill us?

Miharu held up a wallet. "Because of this." I saw the man pat his pockets and I almost bursted out laughing. Miharu stole his wallet? When did that could have happened? "Now, I am not sure if stupid attacker knows who we are, but we have been quite famous in other regions by being competing in several leagues, and although I do not know about Kris, I know people, people in high places, would find my killer or search for me if I went missing for more than a week. They would never stop until they find my killer, the people he or she are working for or with, and get vengeance on them for by behalf. So, unless stupid attacker wants the team he is a member of his to fall, then he should leave without causing more harm to the both of us. I will not tell anyone about stupid attacker's real name unless I am attacked by stupid attacker again. And if stupid attacker were to kill Kris and me later on, stalking us and offing us in our sleep, do not think that what I said before is false. If he never bothers us again, I will not say a thing about this attack to anyone and neither will Kris." Miharu spared me a glance and I nodded, agreeing outwardly but I would see what would happen later to see if I would actually go through with this promise. "Stupid attacker will leave, not attack us again, and we will stay quiet. If stupid attacker does attack us, I will leak out stupid attacker's name, he will be hunted down, and as will his boss and the other members of the team he is on." I noticed that she was rambling slightly, and I wondered if it was because of fear of getting killed or because of blood loss. I didn't really know her enough to choose between the two.

The man's sneer was gone, but he looked fairly distrusting. "And why should I believe your word?"

Miharu smirked. "Because I am a 'good guy' and good guys always keep their word." Miharu lifted up the wallet. "So…?"

The man nodded, returning his Krookodile. "I agree to your terms." Miharu threw the wallet at him. "Good boy."

The man walked off and I sighed in relief when he was out of sight. I saw Miharu start to sway and hold the tree for support. She was mumbling to herself, what about I didn't know. I walked closer to her. "Are you alright?"

Miharu glanced at the place where the man stood. "Fine. We should probably go heal our pokemon."

My eyes narrowed at the obvious lie, but I didn't say anything. She was pale, and now sweating slightly so I knew that the blood loss had grown. However, her eyes still looked completely focused, unlike one with bad blood loss who would have slightly nebulous eyes due to not being able to focus. She took her weight off of the tree and stepped forward. She seemed steady for a few steps before she just dropped like a stone. Luckily, I was sort of waiting for her to pass out and caught her quite easily. I realized that she was quite older than me, by four years if I remembered correctly, and I wondered if I would be able to carry her. I lifted her up, it was slightly awkward since she was slightly taller than me, but I was able to lift her up fairly easily. Now, the real problem is if I can lift her to the nearest hospital, pokemon center, or even inside the rest stop…

"So where're you from anyway?" Daphne asked curiously. She and Ty had been walking for a little ways now but he'd barely talked at all while Daphne had more or less told him her life's story. "Did you get Jiggy at that nasty Professor's lab too?"

"Well, not exactly," Ty started, determined to tell the girl as little as he could about himself. "I got Jiggy—Jigsaw from my dad…"

"Oh right, your high-and-mighty on-the-League-board daddy, gotcha."

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!" Ty demanded, a bit offended by her tone of voice. Sure he though exactly about his dad like that but it wasn't the place of some mere idiot to judge him like that!

"Well you said it so… negatively. So I assumed you didn't like your dad much," Daphne blinked innocently and Ty shrugged and stepped ahead. "So it's truuuuuuue!" Daphne chimed.

"No, it's not, and I'm going to rest here," Ty chucked his bag at a nearby tree and sat down, leaning against the trunk and hoping Daphne would just walk along. Naturally she didn't and sat next to him.

"I can't believe you caught that Mareep," she purposely changed the subject.

"Oh, right," Ty picked up the PokéBall from his pocked and released the Mareep. He, for Ty could easily see it was a he, shook his head a bit absently and started chewing on some grass immediately. "I'll name you Newton."

"Newton?! But wasn't Newton, like, smart?!" Daphne asked. She wasn't all that into those bigheads but she had heard of him.

"Yupp, I'm hoping the name'll rub off on him."

"Well that's just stupid," Daphne decided. "I'll call him Newt then, now that suits him," she just about gave herself a little pat on the shoulder for brilliance but then she realized something. "I should probably name Onix, right?"

"Well you shouldn't if you're not going to keep him, Pokémon keep their names after being traded you know, and perhaps his new owner will want to pick out his name on his own…" Ty glanced at her, wondering at her reaction. No matter how determined she was to get rid of Onix (She'd asked another trainer for a trade while they were walking but when Ty had attempted to make a run for it she'd not asked anyone else) he did think that she was getting just a little bit attached to him.

"Oh, yeah…" She trailed off. "I… suppose so." So no naming Onix. She was getting something fluffy for him after all. Right? "Alright, we've lingered enough!" She jumped off, shaking the thought from her mind.

Ty sighed and got up. Ahead looked like a forest of bushes that were taller than Daphne was. He could look over them just fine but she'd be swallowed for sure. He took a waterbottle from his bag as he came a little closer to the mutatiously large plants, taking a sip of the water. She'd noticed it as well.

"WOAH! Look how huge they are!" She stood on her tiptoes but still they were taller than her. "Alright, there's only one solution then! You must carry me!"

Aaaaaaand, he spat out the water. "WHAT?!"

"On your shoulders!" Daphne said. "There's no other solution, the plants would, like , eat me!"

"They wouldn't eat you!" Ty objected, calling back Newton into his ball.

"Oh yes they would!" Daphne objected, "And then I'd get lost, and die, and it would be on your conxciousness!"

"You are not, I repeat NOT, riding on my shoulders!"

*****

"Oh look, we made it, you can let me down now," Daphne giggled, trying to get off of his shoulders, sheesh the guy was tall. Ty grumbled as he lifted her off, it was a good thing she weighed absolutely nothing, and it was a good thing no one had seem them. Especially the latter was a blessing from God.

"Oh, look at that!" Daphne pointed at the cabins ahead. "It must be the resting stop that dad told me about! Awesome!" Getting closer to the cabins one could see the bright red "P" painting atop the doors of the largest one, it had to be sort of like the reception area. "Alright, Ty could you get us maybe a cabin, it's getting dark already…"

Ty grumbled a little bit, but he nodded . "What are you gonna do then?" He asked suspiciously, eyes narrowing.

"Oh, you know, just see if there's anything interesting about…" In reality she just wanted to have some time to think for herself about what she'd do with Onix. She was growing a little attached to him, even if she didn't want to and, well, she just had to think. "Oh, Ty?"

He turned back around. "Yeah?"

"Do you think, maybe, if I could borrow Newt too? I'm in need of something fluffy right now." She asked, bumping her index fingers innocently. Ty shrugged and tossed her Newton's ball, which she just about managed to catch before it crashed to the ground.

"I'll wait for you inside, just be sure to be back before it gets dark alright?"

"Yes, dad," Daphne stuck her tongue out towards his back and skipped off towards an area with a few trees where she released both Onix and Newt.

"Now what am I to do with the both of you?" She wondered. Newton, upon seeing Onix, went into one of his skip/prance/tackles and hit the Onix with a SPLAT, the latter of which only looked at him with mild interest.

"You're all I ever wanted," She said to Newt who MEEEH-ed curiously. "But you're useless! And you're all I ever wanted to avoid" to Onix. "But damn you can kick some booty!" She picked up a rock and threw it away in frustration and then proceeded to emotionally hug the life out of Newt and his fluffy coat.

At the sound of footsteps Onix lifted his head in alarm but neither Daphne nor Newt noticed anything until the stranger started talking. "What's a little girl doing here on her own at nightfall?" came a very creepy and not-right voice which made Daphne all but jump up in a karate stance, or scratch that, it DID make her jump up in a karate stance.

"I'm not alone, I've got my Pokémon here!" Daphne countered while at the same time Onix curled around her protectively, glaring at the stranger and Newt MEEEH-ed loudly, also glaring. At his words Daphne did notice that it was getting darker, the sun had just set and it wasn't entirely pitch black but it was coming fast. "Besides, what are you doing creeping around and surprising unsuspecting damsels? Jerk."

"Want me to punch her boss?" Someone asked and Daphne jumped into yet another karate pose, she hadn't know there were more. Damn them and their black clothing!

"Nah, I got this. We'll see how valuable your creatures really are," With a dramatic flourish that made Daphne question his sexuality a little (though being sure not to mention this) he released his Pokémon… which ended up being a giant crocodile thing.

Daphne quickly got her Pokédex from her bag before realizing that she probably wasn't going to be able to hit it with it. "Ehm, sir, could I please hit your Pokémon with my Dex… please?"

"Wait, what?"

"Hit it, not hard of course! Just a little smack?"

The man snorted. "Fine, it's not like it would put a dent into my magnificent creature anyway!" Yupp, definitely, probably gay, who used the word 'magnificent' these days anyway? But alas Daphne took a few steps forward, having to practically jump over Onix' tail to do so, and hit the alligator-thing on the nose. It snarled at her but didn't snap, thank goodness.

"Waruvial, the menace Pokémon," the thing droned in a monotonous voice. "It has eyes that can magnify things like binoculars and jaws that can destroy automobiles." Daphne whistled.

"That's quite the 'gator you got there."

"Quite so, now which of your critters is first?" The man laughed quite effeminately placing his hands on his hips while doing so. Daphne shuddered in revulsion. She was no homophobe, but seriously homosexual villains just scared the bejeesums out of her.

"Onix, kick it's a- oh wait, ehm, crapsticks," She wasn't allowed to just have him beat the crap out of something anymore, but surely this was an exception as her safety was actually being threatened and all. "Right, kick it's buttocks Onix!" Onix screeched causing all of the men (though Daphne really didn't know how many there were as it was almost completely dark now and, well, they wore black those jerkwads) and Daphne to cover their ears in pain. The Waruvial seemed hardly affected by it however.

"Waruvial, let's do it the dirty way," the main boss-dude said with a wink. Daphne shuddered. Meanwhile Onix swung his tail at the Waruvial with great momentum, however the Waruvial caught it and a dark aura surrounded it. With unseeming strength it used Onix' momentum to throw him meters away. And really even though Waruvial was large, just about the same size as Daphne, it was still quite a sight to see a one and a half meter 'gator throw away an eight meter long solid rock snake. Needless to say Onix was finished.

"Well that takes care of that smartypants," Boss-dude said while wringing his hands.

"GALILEO!" One might be able to see a lightbulb over Daphne's head. "If that thing is Newton that you can be Galileo!" Daphne called roughly to the spot where Onix had landed. Talking about Newt…

Jump, jump, jump, SPLAT.

"Aaaaaand that takes care of the little sheep-thing," Boss-dude said with a wicked smile. Daphne called back the both of them, turned back to earth from her naming epiphany.

"So, boss, what are we going to do with her?" One of the grunts asked, and he sounded a bit too eager. Daphne doubted that the boss would do anything to her as he was as gay as the night, but the grunts she was not so sure. And, well, she was drop dead gorgeous, who could resist? Right.

Just then her salvation came. "Daphne?!" A voice roughly recognizable as Ty called out. "Daphne you stupid twit where are you?!"

"Here!" Daphne called back just before someone elbowed her in the nose from seemingly nowhere. The motive was most likely to get her to be quiet but quite the opposite was the effect. "OW!" She yelled. "YOU SON OF A BASKETBALL MY NOSE!"

"Alright, tiiiime to go," the boss-man said anxiously and all of them ran away as quick as they could leaving Daphne with blood gushing from her nose.

"Woah!" Ty came running up to her with a flashlight and seemed to have spotted her nose. "Okay, okay, touch the bridge of your nose, does it hurt?"

"YES!"

"Alright tilt your head back and squeeze your nose right underneath the bone," Ty instructed. "Unless it hurts too much." He dug around in his bag and produced a handkerchief which he passed to Daphne for the bleeding.

"Oooooow, ow, ow," she outed as she gently squeezed her nose to try and stop the bloodflow.

"Okay we're going to walk towards our cabin now, I'll steer you just keep your head back and keep pressing at your nose, you're doing great," he directed them both to one of the cabins. "Oh, and there was only a one person's cabin left, so I guess I'll sleep on the couch." He sounded so very excited.

The cabin, as they both got inside, was little more than a room with one bed, a couch with a small table, one closet and a bathroom area. Everything was brand spanking new though and even smelled new. Or, well, Ty could smell it, and even then whenever he got within a meter's range of Daphne all he'd smell was blood.

"Alright, give me Onix and Newton and I'll get them healed up alright?"

"Gasgdsfhh" Daphne mumbled.

"What?"

"Galileo," the sound was deeply nasal but just about understandable. "His name is Galileo."

"Okay, Galileo then, I'll get them healed and you just keep your head back, alright?" Daphne tried nodded, failed miserably and handed him the Pokémon.

By the time he got back the bleeding had stopped, still Daphne hadn't moved like she'd been told. "Ah, good, it's stopped, let's get you cleaned up." He got a wet paper towel and passed it to Daphne who used it to clean the blood off of her face. "Now touch the bridge of your nose, how does it feel?"

"It huuuurts," Daphne moaned.

"Well, yes, but can you breathe through it?"

"A little, but it huuuurtys."

"Alright well it seems to be a little swollen but not bad. I think it's just a minor fracture, we'll put some ice on it and keep your head elevated tonight and you'll be fine."

In the end Ty had been able to find a first aid kit in the bathroom and it had a little ice package which they taped to the bridge of Daphne's nose. They hadn't been able to find a spare pillow however but Daphne had contented to sleep with Newt, whose wooly coat was all the pillow she'd ever need. Ty, naturally, had resigned to sleeping on the one couch. And the fun, well it would come in the morning when Daphne found out just how one looked after breaking a nose….

"KIP KIP! KIP!" His dark eyes flashed open. "KIP!" He sat up. Upon quick examination, Travis rubbed his eyes in fatigue and frustration at the scene in his room in the upper level of the Pokemon Center.

A sudden and quite violent rainstorm had broken out earlier in the evening, provoking Travis to stay in the Pokemon Center for the night. Apparently, the rainstorm had evolved into one containing unrestrained lightning (followed by thunder, of course). As Travis had developed a very strict habit of sleeping with the window open, he had grown accumstomed to sleeping through whatever noises the outdoors made, seeing as they were what lulled him into sleep every night. But Mudkip had yet to acquire this trait, and after the first flash of lightning had awoken her she had gone beserk by the grumbling outside of the open window, and was currently mounted on the desk in the room, aiming her panicky barks outside. But who could blame her, it was her first thunderstorm.

Well, Travis could.

"Shut up Kip," he growled in a low, sleepy voice, still laying on his bare stomach. He tossed a pillow at the Pokemon, who instinctively fired a Water Gun attack at it, shooting it at the wall above the bed, which caused most of it to fall on Travis's buzzed head. If Mudkip's goal had been to wake up her master, she had succeeded. The teenager jolted out of bed and angrily ran to the desk, only dressed in boxers. He ripped Kip's Pokeball off of his shorts' belt and recalled the Pokemon, throwing the ball on the desk. As Travis nestled back under the already-warm-but-now-kind-of-wet blankets, a bolt of lightning- and also disaster- struck once again, and Kip popped out of her ball, barking even louder.

The wireless phone on the nightstand then began competing with Kip's racket. Travis picked it up with a sigh.

"Y'ello?"

"Yes, hello. This is the front desk of the Pokemon Center. We've been recieving several calls about the noise level in your room, and so we ask that you tone it down, please." The boy's left eye twitched with fatigue and annoyance.

"I'm working on it," he snarled through barred teeth. And the reciever was slammed back onto its charging platform. It pained him to do it, but the window had to be closed, which sealed most of the storm's ruckus out. While Mudkip nestled back on the floor with ease, Travis's eyes were wide open.

The early hours of morning dragged on. That was the first time Travis had ever seen a sunrise and been able to remember it. The occasion was less eventful that was expected.

OOC: Lawl, I'm bored. Can you tell?

Chapter 2: Route 301 Part 3
Number of Posts: 1

Finally you've made it to the second half of the route. You're probably sick of this route by now, but thankfully enough it's the longest route in the region, so the rest of the journey should be filled with less tall grasses and annoying people who try to attack you at random spots - well, maybe. In any case, the second part of this route that continues past the rest spot is pretty similar to the first half, though the closer to Citrine City you get the more trees you are able to see. Small ponds are also developing here and there, though no Pokemon really inhabit them. This route is a straight shot to Citrine - no big grass patches to steer you off course. In any case, getting to Citrine will be quick, easily, and hopefully painless. Once you've made it through this quick route - it's time for Citrine City and your first official gym battle.

OOC: Aww no way, I LOVE Seviper!

Travis had very large and very dark bags nestled under his eyes, but he had too little energy to care about his appearance today. Bag on his back and Mudkip next to him, he set back out on the trail to the first city with a gym. In his bag there lay a strange rock with a leaf-shaped impression bulging out. This fossil had been found close to where Travi's battle with the shady, fat woman a day earlier, and was now wrapped in one of his shirts in the hopes that it would remain in tact until he could find a use for it.

The second half of the trail was quite different than its predecessor. The grass that surrounded the dirt path was much shorter and therefore less mysterious and shady, and the sun seemed a bit more generous on this path. Round, innocent-yet-creepy looking pink ball Pokemon kept bouncing across the path in groups, chirping happily as they did so. They had a round tuff with two small ears on either side atop their heads, which looked rather disturbing. Travis's Pokdex confirmed them as Igglypuff, the pre-evolved form of Jigglypuff whom he was familiar with. These balloon Pokemon eminated an aura of joy and lightheartedness...that is, until Mudkip viciously growled at them, which caused them to quickly scamper into the safety of the grass.

After a little bit, Travis took out a Poketreat thing (yes, he had stocked up on food this time) and flicked it at Mudkip, who snapped at it with surprising aggression and gave a weird croak, perhaps a belch.

"So ladylike," he commented in a low voice with biting sarcasm. Mudkip stopped in her tracks. "Kidding, I was only kidding." The teenager stopped and bent down to his Pokemon, but her black eyes were elsewhere, once again stuck on the grass. It (the grass) was shivering, and not in any random order. Something big was coming towards them. Travis grinned, but nothing could have prepared him for what emerged from the grass.

"Sevi." An enormously thick, long, battleworn and menacing snake slithered onto the trail, which sent Mudkip into a fit and sparked a fire in Travis. His strongest, cleverest, best Pokemon in Kanto had been his Seviper. The snake could always be relied upon and had gained just as much fame as Travis Jellum had, being his signature Pokemon. And now the chance to repeat that success was right in front of him, hissing through its barred fangs. The ball was already enlarged and cupped in his hand.

---

Citrine City was now within view, less than a mile down the path which was starting to travel at a small incline. Travis was staring at the enlarged Pokeball in his hand.

...

It was empty. Thinking back to his choice in the Professor's lab, Travis remembered his reason for coming to the Vassa Region- to start fresh, to write a new story. So he had passed on the Seviper, which proved a real pain to get past even after Mudkip was recalled. The Pokeman had been a strong one, all the more reason to leave it behind.

As he dawdled on these thoughts, Mudkip- who was of course still walking next to Travis- stopped and faced the grass, again. But nearly a second later Travis was lying on the ground, confused and with his legs underneath a weight larger than that of Mudkip's. There was an orange and tan deer Pokemon frantically trying to get out of its current predicament- a plastic wrapper was plastered over its nose, and its legs were tangled in Travis's. Soon enough though it was back on its nimble feet, and the piece of garbage floated to the ground. Opportunity never could have been more generous.

"Water Gun Kip!" As Mudkip blasted a small jet of water from its mouth, which the deer easily dodged, Travis retrieved his Pokedex.

This little Pokemon was a Deerling, which was fairly rare in these parts, and which was Normal and Grass typed, which left Travis at a disadvantage. His favorite situation.

The Deerling, now insulted by the uncalled-for attack, was charging at Mudkip full throttle. Before Travis could even give an order the deer bashed into Mudkip, which sent her rolling backwards. But she quickly composed herself, ferociously clawing at the dirt path.

"Mudslap!" The ball of mud was launched, but it was countered by a Sand Attack from the Deerling. A worthy adversary for once!

"Fine, close in and Tackle." Kip's stubby legs got moving quickly, but the wild Pokemon's body vanished into the background- an effective Camoflauge cover. But its white eyes were still wide open and appeared to be floating in midair.

"You're good, but not perfect; Mudslap its eyes Kip." The floating eyes quickly were smeared with mud, forcing the deer out of its Camoflauge and earning a squeal from it. As it desperately ran around and rubbed its face on the ground, grass, etc, Mudkip sniped the deer with fast yet cleansing Water Gun, washing the mud out of the Deerling's eyes while launching it into the grass.

"Mudslap once more, if you will, Kip. We've got this in the bag." Yet as the mud traveled toward the orange deer in its matted down area in the grass, a burst of sand negated it and caused it to drop to the ground. Maybe this wasn't quite in the bag. The wild Pokemon returned to the path. Its skinny legs wobbled, and its body was heaving.

"Growl." A typically vicious growl from Kip and the deer's face contracted with an expression of fear. It camoflauged once more, still leaving its eyes wide open.

"Water Gun." A contact move would probably cause the frightened creature to flee, though Travis knew Kip wanted a more physical battle. Still, it obeyed and the deer fell to the ground, defeated. A click, a throw and a red light, and the Pokeball was shaking on the ground, though weakly.

Garith feeling tired after a long day got out of the couch and went to the counter to ask nurse joy how is pokemon were doing. "Nurse how are my pokemon?" He asked. "Well right now they are doing fine but they need a good night sleep and so do you," She answered. "Alright thanks nurse joy I'll take your advice," Garith said as he started limping off toward his room. As he limped toward his room he noticed other trainers coming in who seemed like they ran into the same group he did. "Those men will pay for what they did my pokemon will become strong enough to beat theirs and anyone else who comes in our way," Garith thought as he reached the door to his room. As he unlocked the door and walked inside the first thing he did was toss his backpack off into a corner of the room. As he did that a something shinny flew out of an open pocket and near Garith's right foot. "What is this?" Garith thought as he crouched down and picked up the item. "It looks like a seed, but it has some strange feeling to it," Garith thought examining the seed rotating it around. To tired to really care for the seed he placed it on the coffee table that was next to him. He then turned on the light and took a good look around. He was in the front room which contained a few couches to the right near the wall. A kitchen placed on the side farthest in front of him a small T.V, the coffee table placed in the middle of the couches. Garith walked to the next room which was the bedroom. One large king size bed a cabinet up against the wall on the left side with a plasma screen T.V on it . To the right of him was a door leading to the bathroom. A normal bathroom with a sink, toilet and a tub.

The bedroom seemed a little to fancy for Garith but he just went back to his backpack and took out a plan white T-shirt and some blue shorts. Before he changed he decided a quick shower would do him wonders he was covered in dirt anyway. As the warm water poured on his head Garith dozed off for a moment his mind thinking about his plans. "I want to find the next city or town," Garith thought. "Snivy and Pidove need to become stronger so I must find maybe a gym or new trainers around my level to battle," Garith then noticed that he was in the shower for way too long when he saw that he was getting really red. He had a hard time getting out of the shower due to his leg being hurt but he managed to get out and put on his T-shirt and shorts and laid in the bed. He felt at heaven, the blanket was soft and cozy, the pillow fluffy and supportive and he quickly feel asleep. As he woke up in the morning he stretched his body out yawned and walked into the bathroom to brush his teeth. After he was done he walked into the front room and examined the seed again. "Maybe Nurse Joy will be able to tell me what this is," Garith thought as he changed into his regular outfit and somewhat combed his hair. Garith left the room with all of his belongings, the seed in his pocket.

As Garith walked to the front counter he pulled out the seed. "Good morning Nurse Joy could you tell me what this is?" Garith asked showing Nurse Joy the seed. "Well morning to you," She said looks like you're not limping anymore," She said smiling. "How did you..." Garith began. "I saw you limp off to your room," She said as she pulled out a tray with Garith's pokeballs in it. "Well that seed is called a miracle seed it boost the power of grass type attacks of grass pokemon," Nurse Joy said handing Garith the tray and taking the seed from him. "I have an idea on how to use this," She said walking off. "All right Snivy come on out," Garith said as he pointed Snivy's pokeball toward the ground. The pokeball opened and a flash of light flew out and Snivy appeared. "Snivy!" Snivy moaned as he stretched. Snivy then had made a sad face, it seemed he was somewhat depressed about the fight with Krookodile. "Snivy don't feel bad that pokemon was way too strong for you but one day we'll become the strongest and no one will beat us," Garith said as he crouched down next to Snivy. Garith quickly got back up as Nurse Joy came back with a necklace with the miracle seed attached. "Put this around Snivy and he should become a bit stronger," She said handing Garith the necklace. Garith then placed the necklace around Snivy with a smile on his face. "Sni Sni!" Snivy exclaimed happy with the necklace. "Good it fits," Garith said as Snivy jumped on his shoulder. "Thank you for all your help Nurse Joy," He said thanking Nurse Joy and taking Pidove's pokeball and placing it in his pocket. "No problem have a safe and fun journey," She said. As Garith started walking off before he walked out the door Nurse Joy stopped him. "Oh let me give you some directions," She said as they walked out the door of the cabin. "Go down the rest of this route and you should reach Citrine City there's a gym there," Nurse Joy said pointing Garith in the right direction and walking back inside.

Garith and Snivy walked down the path Nurse Joy had set them on and the two were glad it was calm and peaceful and they would probably not run into any big trouble like those men. They took a look around to see pokemon running around and playing. "Whoa what pokemon is that?" Garith said as he caught site of a snake like pokemon. He quickly took out his pokedex and put it over the pokemon. "Seviper, the Fang Snake Pokémon. Seviper is known for its angry disposition, immobilizing its opponents by wrapping its body around them," The pokedex said with a male electronic voice. "What a cool looking pokemon it says here it's a poison type Snivy," Garith said as he looked to Snivy who was resting on his shoulder. "Sni," Snivy growled at the Seviper. The Seviper hissed back and then slithered off. "Did you have to chase it off?" Garith whined as Snivy just looked away from him rudely. "Jeez," He sighed as he heard rustling in the bushes behind him. "Who's there!" Garith shouted as he quickly turned around. "Sorry!" A voice yelled back. A girl probably around Garith's age jumped out of the bushes dusting off dirt from her shorts. She had bright blue eyes and jet black hair that came down to her wrists. Her bangs covered her left eye, she was wearing a light red T-shirt with a blue jacket over it and blue shorts. On her feet she was wearing white sneakers with pokeballs on them.

"My name is Valerie Salem," She said bowing to Garith. "My name is Garith Gin now what do you want," Garith said coldly. "Jeez lighten up Garith just trying to make conversation," She said. "Well I don't have time to waste with some stalker," Garith retorted as he started walking away Snivy sticking his tongue at her. "How about a pokemon battle?" She offered grabbing Garith's attention. "Alright," Garith said as Snivy jumped off his shoulder. "Oh is that a Snivy?!" Valerie squealed. "I just love all snake pokemon," She said. "Vy?" Snivy sighed with a questioning look. "I hope your Snivy is strong because I am so far undefeated," Valerie said as she took out a pokeball. "Go Sevi!" She exclaimed as she tossed her pokeball into the air. A white light flashed from the pokeball as it opened and a pokemon appeared. "Seviper!" The pokemon growled. "Seviper was one of the firs pokemon I got my dad gave him to me and he's pretty strong," Valerie boasted. "But I see plenty of Sevipers around here," Garith said not impressed. "Hey don't underestimate my Seviper!" Valerie shouted. "He's a much higher level than these ones my dad trained this Seviper a bit before giving it to me," She said. "Alright fine then Snivy let's go!" Garith exclaimed. "Sevi use poison tail!" Valerie commanded. "Seviper!" Sevi shouted as he flew toward Snivy tail glowing a dark purple. "Snivy quickly dodge!" Garith ordered. As Snivy was about the jump into the air Sevi slammed his tail into him. "Sni" Snivy moaned as he flew through the air and skidded across the ground.

"Grass type pokemon are weak against poison," Valerie said snickering. "Dang it," Garith said under his breath as Snivy got back up. "Viper," Sevi snarled at Snivy. "Snivy use vine whip!" Garith commanded. "Snivy!" Snivy roared as two vines flew out his shoulders and at Sevi. "Seviper!" Sevi groaned as the vines hit him. "You don't know much do you Garith Gin," Valerie said smirking. "Grass type attacks aren't very effective against poison types," She said as Sevi hissed at Garith and Snivy. "Oh on," Garith thought. "But wait Snivy has a miracle seed boosting his power," Garith replied. "Wait what?" Valerie said as Snivy launched another vine whip attack. "Seviper!" Sevi moaned taking another Vine whip attack. "I'm not letting you win Sevi use another poison tail!" Valerie growled. "Snivy quickly jump out of the way and use vine whip again," Garith said. As Sevi's tail was about to strike Snivy, Snivy quickly jumped out of the way and slammed Sevi into the ground with his vine whip attack. "Seviper..," Sevi moaned as it hit the ground now unconscious. "Sevi!" Valerie exclaimed. "Arrgh you're going to pay for that Garith, return Sevi," She growled as she pulled out Sevi's pokeball and Sevi went inside in a red flash of light. "Great job Snivy!" Garith said. "Snivy," Snivy said looking at Garith making a what did you expect look.

"I'm not done yet!" Valerie exclaimed taking out another pokeball. "Go Pooch," Valerie said tossing the pokeball at the ground and a poochyenna appeared in a white flash. "Snivy take a rest," Garith said as he pulled out Snivy's pokeball and Snivy was sent back inside in a red beam of light. "Alright then go Pidove!" Garith shouted as he tossed Pidove's pokeball into the air and Pidove flew out in a white flash. "Pidove!" Pidove shouted as he stretched out his wings. "Do you not nickname your pokemon?" Valerie asked. "My pokemon didn't trust me at the time," Garith said looking to Pidove. "Hey Pidove how do you like the nickname Ace?" He asked. "Pidove," Pidove said ok with the name. "Ace?" Valerie began. "Not really originally," She said. "So who cares what you think as long as Ace likes it," Garith growled. "Fine fine whatever sometimes cute boys can be so strange," Valerie sighed. Garith then blushed and looked toward the ground. "Whatever Pooch use bite!" She ordered as her poochyenna flew at Ace mouth wide open. "Not a great tactic," Garith said to Valerie. "Ace use gust!" He ordered. "Pidove!" Ace exclaimed as he started flapping its wings back and forth creating a powerful gust blowing Pooch and slamming it to the ground. "Pooch!" Valerie squealed. "Keep up the gust attack!" Garith said. "Dove!" Ace shouted keeping up strong winds. "Poochyenna!" Pooch shouted getting hit by the winds. "Alright Ace you can stop now," Garith said. "Pooch oh no," Valerie said as Pooch laid on the ground unable to fight anymore. "That was easy," Garith said as Ace landed on his left shoulder. "Pooch return," Valerie sighed pulling out Pooch's pokeball and the poochyenna flew inside in a red light.

"I'm not losing to you go Igg and Mary!" Valerie shouted as she tossed two pokeballs in the air and two pokemon appeared in white flashes of light. "What pokemon are those?" Garith said pulling out his pokedex and put it over the pink ball looking pokemon. "Igglybuff, the Balloon Pokémon. Igglybuff's resilient body allows it to bounce endlessly once it's been put in motion, it's the preevolved form of jigglypuff and is a normal type pokemon," The pokedex said. "What about this one," Garith said putting the pokedex over the sheep looking pokemon. "Mareep, the Wool Pokémon. Mareep stores static electricity in their woolly coat. They avoid battle and have mild dispositions," The pokedex said. "Snivy go!" Garith said tossing Snivy's pokeball and Snivy appeared in a white flash of light. "Snivy use vine whip on both of them full power!" Garith ordered. Following orders Snivy used vine whip on the two pokemon causing them to fly into a nearby tree. "I can't believe I lost!" Valerie squealed as she ran up to her two pokemon grabbed them and ran off in the direction of the cabin Garith had come from. "Well that was an easy fight," Garith said looking at his two pokemon till they all started laughing. It was getting dark soon and Garith thought before he got to the city just to camp out.

Garith and his pokemon walked for a couple of more minutes until they stopped near a few trees and Garith set up a little tent and a fire nearby. "Let's see what I have in my backpack here," He said looking through it. "Here I have some pokemon food for grass and flying type but I don't remember bring this or that tent," Garith said. He looked through his backpack and found a note from Nurse Joy. "I stopped by your room to ask what happened but you were asleep so I packed you a few things enjoy," Garith said reading the note aloud. "Thanks Nurse Joy," He said as he found a can of beans slightly opened and a pot. Snivy and Ace ate while Garith cooked the beans. "These beans taste great," Garith thought as he finished the pot of beans. He then placed the pot and his fork he used to eat them with back into his backpack. As Garith cleaned up Snivy and Ace's dishes he noticed that the two sneaky pokemon had already made themselves cozy in the tent wrapped up in Garith's blanket. "Well I'll sleep outside and watch over you two," Garith thought as he sat back up against a tree looking up at the stars the fire still burning.

((OOC: I had a question...before you had put my Sneasel as female, and now you changed it to male. Is it female or male now? XD))

We walked out of the rest stop after having to spend the night there. The people there had treated Miharu's wound, but said she needed to at least rest there for one night, which is why we were still there. As we walked out of the doors, I tossed Miharu the Razor Claw that the man had dropped. He had also dropped a Lid Fossil, which we decided that I could have.

We began our trek down the second half of Route 301. It was fairly similar to the first half of the route, though there were more trees and ponds. I kept an eye out for any wild pokemon I might like to catch, or for any more mentally disturbed people with Krookodiles. There seemed to be none of the latter, but plenty of wild pokemon. I decided to have a little training session with the wild Igglybuff, I gave a silent glance to Miharu and she nodded. I let out Dove and Miharu let out her Mareep.

"Okay Dove, time for a little warm-up. Start with Gust." Dove flapped her wings quickly, creating a gust of wind that headed for the group of Igglybuff in front of us. All of the Igglybuff were sent flying, and when they recovered all but two fled. They both used Defense Curl, fortifying their defenses, before using Charm. Mareep avoided Charm's effects, and since Dove's only attack move was Gust, it didn't make a difference.

"These Igglybuff don't know a single move that could cause damage." Miharu stated after a quick consultation with her pokedex. "Now, Mareep, use Tackle!" Mareep ran at full speed towards the Igglybuff, before throwing her full weight on them. One Igglybuff cried out as it flew backwards, but the other jumped and began to sing. "Although the singing is annoying. Tell Kris's pokemon to cover their ears. Mareep, sadly, cannot cover her ears."

Miharu had returned Mareep, before she was about to go to sleep. Deciding to listen, I told Dove to cover her ears with her wings. Dove listened, and was unaffected by Sing. When the Igglybuff stopped singing, Miharu recalled her Mareep.

"Dove, continue to use Gust," I commanded. Dove flapped her wings and hit both of the Igglybuff at the same time.

"Mareep, tackle."

Mareep ran at one of the Igglybuff, the one who used sing, and rammed into it. The Igglybuff flew back, and slammed into the other Igglybuff. "Use Gust on Mareep." Dove created yet another swirl of wind, which she launched at Mareep. Mareep began to rise, spin, and used the Gust's momentum to tackle the Igglybuff and knock them out. I knew that tactic was going to become a favorite.

Miharu returned Mareep as I returned Dove. I produced a pair of binoculars and gazed through them. I did a 360 sweep until I came upon a herd of Deerling. Their coats were slightly orange due to it being autumn. "I'm going to go get a Deerling." I stated before pocketing the binoculars and heading in the direction of the Deerling. As soon as they saw me approaching they fled, but my eyes landed on a younger one that hadn't seen me yet.

"Gust." Before the Deerling could even look up, it was soaring through the air. It landed in some tall grass before getting to its feet, slightly confused. When it realized what had happened, it ran towards Dove with a Tackle attack. Dove fluttered her wings and dodged easily, before producing more super-effective winds that sent the Deerling flying again. This time it was difficult for the little deer to get to its feet, but when it did it used Tackle again. This time the Tackle hit and knocked Dove to the ground, before the Deerling finished it off with another Tackle.

I recalled Dove and let out Zorua, commanding him to use Pursuit. He ran in towards the Deerling, mauling it when he made contact. The Deerling countered with yet another Tackle, throwing Zorua back a few feet. Zorua began to cry - Fake Tears - which confused the Deerling. It walked over to Zorua to investigate, and Zorua finished the Deerling with a Scratch attack. I tossed a pokeball, shrouding Deerling in a scarlet light, before it disappeared completely...

~Meanwhile~

Miharu noticed a lone Seviper slithering, which was odd in itself. Usually Sevipers stayed in a pack. Miharu grabbed Mareep's pokeball anyways and let her out.

"Growl..."

Mareep growled at the Seviper, who flinched. Miharu knew that Seviper's attack had been lowered. "Tackle."

Mareep ran towards Seviper and rammed into it. Seviper was thrown back, but it hissed and slithered towards to Mareep. It then moved it's tail towards Mareep.

"Mareep, move. That is a wrap attack."

Mareep tried to move out of the way in time, but was too slow. The tail had grabbed Mareep and then Seviper started to squeeze Mareep. Miharu's mind went through different scenarios; most ended with Mareep fainting. Soon enough, there was a scenario that she was 63% sure was going to work.

"Mareep, growl."

Mareep growled at the Seviper, looking very threatening. Slightly shocked, Seviper loosened up a tiny bit on Mareep, but it was enough. Mareep was able to get out of Seviper's hold.

"Mareep, tackle."

Mareep rammed Seviper again, and Seviper flew back a little bit farther. Seviper hissed, and tried to move forward, but find itself unable to. It was paralyzed. Miharu, seeing Mareep's job done, returned Mareep and grabbed Sneasel's pokeball. She let Sneasel out, who glared at the slightly paralyzed Seviper.

"Sneasel, Leer then Screech."

Sneasel nodded, and leered at Seviper, before screeching quite suddenly. Seviper flinched, and Miharu knew that its defenses had been lowered twice.

"Sneasel, Quick Attack."

Sneasel became a blur, and hit Seviper. Seviper, before flying, licked Sneasel. When Seviper flew back, it ended up hitting a tree. Miharu had thought it was weakened enough to be captured; but Seviper hissed and got back up. It seemed to be...smirking at her. Miharu glanced at Sneasel and realized that he was paralyzed. She smirked. "This is getting interesting...Sneasel, Scratch." Sneasel ran towards the Seviper with her claws outstretched, waving them wildly. Just as Sneasel's claws were to make contact, the Seviper used Wrap again. The Seviper's tail twisted around Sneasel, leaving her defenseless.

Or at least it seemed she was defenseless. "Screech." Sneasel began to shriek at the top of her lungs, causing teh Seviper to release her as it cried out in pain. It coiled up to try to block out the hideous noise, which left an opening for Sneasel. "Quick Attack and then Scratch." Sneasel darted in towards Seviper, readying her claws. Within a second she was in front of the Seviper, the Quick Attack giving extra force to the Scratch attack. That was all Seviper could handle, and it collapsed. Miharu tossed a pokeball, contacting Seviper on the head and causing it to disappear in scarlet light...

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted until now, i've been lazy busy with my own RP and other issues IRL.

IC:

Odessa woke to a red-orange early morning light coming in from the window of the room at the rest stop. Ω and Ana were still asleep so she sat there staring at the ceiling until Ω stirred and woke up. Ω gave a small stretch as he jumped onto the floor so Odessa could stand, carefully doing so to avoid waking Ana who was still at the foot of the bed. Odessa looked through the window and thought about what had happened yesterday, got Ω, caught Ana, was ambushed by a bunch of Poochyena, then the dude had destroyed her in a battle. She smiled, even if the day had ended on a bad note it had been very... eventful and that was enough for her. Ana woke and stretched, Odessa decided they should probably leave soon.

?? minutes later

Odessa was about to leave when the woman from last night appeared, "A man said to give this to you when you woke up" she said. Odessa looked and saw a fire stone with an envelope, she took it with a small "thanks" and opened the envelope, it was short.

'Thanks for being a good sport'

Odessa wasn't sure whether to be angry or feel like an ass about what she had said after the battle, she settled on a middle road leaving her feeling mild resentment towards the man she had battled. She pocketed the Fire Stone and walked outside, heading further up the route she had started last night.

?? minutes later

The entire rest of the route was just as bad as the first half had been, save for a few trees every once in a while. As she walked she wondered exactly why their were fantastic technologically advanced cities in some regions yet the suggested 'routes' that pretty much everyone used were always covered in tall grass... it didn't make much sense to her. She shrugged it off as some sort of environmental or economical issue and continued on with the trudge through the grass. She saw a bit of movement near a tree to her left, she paused and stared for a moment, an igglybuff eventually revealed itself shyly. Odessa stared for a moment, it was a normal type, and if she wanted her party to be diverse it wouldn't make much sense to catch it, Ana already being a normal.

Odessa was about to leave it be when it took an aggressive stance, "Seriously?" she thought to herself. She sighed and released Ω from his ball in a flash of red, Ω shook himself and looked at the igglybuff. The igglybuff made the first move, attacking Ω by simply throwing itself at him in some generic attack.

Ω easily avoided, "Thunder wave" Odessa said, sparks streaked off Ω body and hit the igglybuff. The igglybuff used defense curl, wrapping itself into a small ball, Ω used tackle before it could do anything else, although it managed to hold its ground when hit.

The igglybuff shook itself then used charm, Odessa stared in slight amusement, imagining a heart coming off of the igglybuff. Ω's movements became slightly more reserved, Odessa nearly was sent into a fit of laughter over that, she managed to calm herself before saying, "tackle".

Ω obeyed, although the attack didn't looke like it had done as much damage as it should have, the igglybuff staggered a little but remained standing.

It retaliated by throwing itself at Ω in another show of a generic attack, Ω was hit this time, but the attack was only a sidelong hit and he remained on his feet.

"Tackle" Odessa said, Ω followed through a little more avidly then last time, hitting the igglybuff head-on and knocking it away.

The igglybuff got up and made a big show of looking offended, it opened its mouth, "tackle!" Odessa cried, knowing what it was about to do next.

Ω followed through and hit the igglybuff before a single note escaped, knocking it unconscious. Odessa returned Ω to his ball, and walked up to the igglybuff's unconscious body. She shrugged and continued on, trees now more frequent. Soon after she reached Citrine city, "That wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been" Odessa thought cheerily to herself.

(OOC: I am playing catch up at the moment. My life and my constant feeling of dissatisfaction of my post kept me from posting something. I was supposed to post Monday, but then found myself not satisfied with what I had written so I found myself constantly rewriting. I will get part three up hopefully soon)

Chapter 1 Route 301 Part 2

It had been a couple of hours after my encounter with those Rattatas. I had relived the reason why I hated those little rats. They had such horrible judge of character. How could they think I was a stupid trainer? Those little rats, I swear I will strangle the next one I see.

I quickly punched a tree as a mental image of a laughing Rattata came into my mind. As soon as the rat disappeared it reappeared into my mind making me punch another innocent tree a few times. Yes I was still, mad, I was fuming. I flinched at the pain that was burning through my fists. I was going to get my fists bandage when I get to stop at the rest area.

The rest area was soon in view and from the outside it looked like some ski resort cabin. All the rest area was made of was just a single cabin that had a P on the face of the roof. The "P" signaled that it was a Pokemon Center, something that everyone should know, trainer or not. Someone who didn't know how to recognize a Pokemon Center are considered morons by many social circles. I learned it the hard way.

---

The sun had finally come up once again. It had taken forever for the thing just to peak over the mountains. I made reservations in the rest area and it was one living hell. All the people who worked here were just annoyingly happy. They always had fake, overdone smiles that became planted into people's minds. They were utterly annoying because their high, happy voices. I swear if I stayed there for another day I would one of these people in the face. (Even with all the calming and venting exercising I had learned in anger management class)

I had adjusted my glasses with one of my bandage hands while looking at the map. There was a fork in the road and I needed help on deciding which path I should take. I scrunched my eyebrows and ran my fingers through my hair. I let out a frustrated sigh as I let my eyes wander away from the map. I couldn't seem to decipher it at all. Loony and Buneary were moving up in the world and had moved from arguing to small chatter.

A hand was placed on my shoulder which made me turn around. It was a male, from what I could tell because of the build. He wore a dark, black hoodie with grey jeans. I couldn't see the man's face because it was covered with a mask. Beside him was a red crocodile whose smile was beginning to creep me out. The smile plastered on its face made it look like one of those psychotic freaks who abducted children on the side of the street.

"Hello why don't we battle?" He asked, a husky voice piercing through the mask.

"No."

"Why?" He asked.

"Why do I have too?"

"Because I said so," He retorted.

"Is that the best you got?" I asked. I had to admit, it was fun bantering with this person.

"I bet your parents didn't teach you to turn down a challenge like that," He retorted, overconfidence was dripping in his voice, "I bet if they saw you now they wouldn't be too proud of you."

I scrunched my fists on my jeans, low blow. I was fighting off the anger that was threatening to explode. Things like this, lead to bad things. I can control this; I didn't go to anger management for nothing.

"Oh and the friends you actually have, no wait, you have none," The man snickered.

I exploded. I jumped on him and began to punch his face. My right fist met with his face, the mask soon flying off earlier. My fists had battered his hard, sharp face. I soon felt a pair of claws on my back and I was soon flung in the air. It was that crocodile like Pokemon that was beside the man. Loony managed to catch me with her long arms and set me on the ground softly.

"You really can pack a punch," The man said while picking up his mask and putting it on again, "Are you going to battle me now?"

I glared at him, if he wanted a battle, then I'll give him one, "Buneary!"

"Bun!"

"Now that's more like it, Waruvial use Crunch!"

"Splash!" I screeched in anger. The crocodile had come sliding across the ground like it was some ice skater, with its mouth agape. Buneary on the other hand began jumping, very high. Buneary had splashed her way into Waruvial's mouth. I felt my anger begin to disappear when I saw her crying in pain when Waruvial had clamped its jaws around her body. A piercing scream had escaped her mouth and a lot of struggling followed. It was heart wrenching seeing Buneary just flailing and screaming about in utter pain because she was being pierced by teeth as sharp as knives.

"Pound!" I cried desperately. While flailing and screaming in pain Buneary's ears began to move and the tops of her ears began smacking the crocodile's face.

'Throw it," The masked man responded. Waruvial spat out Buneary as if it was doing a spit take and tighten its claw's around her body. It began to spin its arm like a windmill and threw Buneary into a tree. Buneary had met the tree face on and soon slid to the ground.

"Buneary!"
I had run over to her limp body that was face floor on the ground. I started to shake her desperately, "C'mon get up, that stupid looking crocodile couldn't have been that strong,"

I had shook her even more desperately, but seeing it as a lost cause I stopped. I returned Buneary into her Poke'ball, but afterwards I could feel anger boiling up inside me. Biting Buneary I could understand but deliberately throwing her into a tree was just too much. I made a fist in my jeans and started to breathe through my nose.

"Floon…" Loony said, while one of her long arms touched my shoulder gently. That was right, Buneary ended up like this because of my anger. I didn't keep my cool; I wasn't going to let that happen again. I can control it, I can keep my cool.

"Swagger," The man commanded.

"Astonish before that crocodile thing can start an attack," I responded, somewhat calm. I had begun to control myself and keep my cool. I might not win, but my loss wouldn't be too pathetic. Loony had inflated when she took in a large amount of oxygen and then deflated as she began to scream. Blue wave had came out of her mouth as she let out her ear piercing scream. I winced and covered my ears, I wasn't going to have my ears damaged today. Waruvial, on the other hand, was suffering greatly from the scream and was struggling to get its hands to cover its ears.

"Follow up with Constrict!" I ordered. Loony began to spin, but she was still screaming like a banshee from one of those supernatural shows. Loony's arms soon was able to wrap around Waruvial's neck and proceeded to coke the poor crocodile. It was struggling to throw off Loony, but whenever Waruvial would raise its claw Loony would let out an Astonish before quickly tightening her hold on the crocodile.

"Foul Play!" The masked man shouted. Waruvial had struggled to fight off the pain when it opened its mouth to let its now glowing tongue. The glowing tongue and licked Loony, which made her let go of the crocodile out of disgust.

"Grab it!"

"Astonish!"

Waruvial made an attempt to grab Loony arms, but Loony in response let out another of those ear piercing screams which made the croc stop its attempt to grab the Drifloon. My opponent seemed a bit nervous, but that was quickly remedied by the next command.

"Just try to ignore it and grab it!"

The croc had a hard time trying to ignore the screeching, which made me overconfident, so I didn't issue another command. Waruvial managed to surprise me and grabbed Loony's arms. Waruvial didn't seem to need another command and began to spin its arms like a windmill just like it did before with Buneary.

"Get ready to inflate!"

"You already know what to do."

Loony had began to take in a large amount of oxygen, but then the croc had responded with something that I didn't expect. Waruvial had slammed Loony into the ground. Dust and dirt had picked up, hindering my vision momentarily. When the dust and dirt settled I saw the outcome of the battle. Loony was down for the count.

"Loony!"

I had run over to her now limp body. I grabbed her Poke'ball and returned her. I put the ball close to my chest and tried to fight off the sadness and disappointment. I sighed as I stood up, I wanted to be a good sport and congratulate the masked man for defeating me, but when I stood up, I couldn't find him anywhere. It was like he disappeared.

"Alone again," I sighed, I felt extreme pain running through my fists and sighed, "Looks like I have to bandage my fists again."

"Sleeping beauty, wake up," Ty shook Daphne awake, who grunted and mumbled something and didn't want to wake up. She was curled in fetus position hugging Newt who was in turn sleeping quite peacefully. "HEY!" he yelled into her ear but all he got was a mumbed "go awaaaaaaaay"

"OW!" Daphne bolted upright, rubbing her ribs. "You POKED me!"

"Well yeah, kinda had to as you were pretty much in hibernation, nice nasal tones by the way," Ty laughed and proceeded to wake up Newt.

"Don't make fun of meeee," Daphne whined in a voice that sounded like she was holding her nose closed, except she wasn't of course.

"Nice black eyes too…"

Within seconds Daphne stood in front of the bathroom mirror, poking at the huge black bruises under her eyes. She grunted, she had concealer with her but she wasn't sure it would work that well. And to top it all off the sleeping had made her bangs frizzy. There was only one thing to do. She grabbed her bag and started taking out the bare necessities. Straightening iron, mascara, concealer, foundation powder, that sort of thing. She started furiously applying the sticky concealer under her eyes. Didn't work perfectly but at least the bruises weren't that evident anymore. Then she covered it up with some powder and viola, she went from punched-in-the-face to hasn't-slept-in-two-years. It was improvement at least.

Next came the mascara for the skinwalker-eyelashes-syndrome. Then came brushing her hair, which was rather tangled and all and cause for a lot of flinching. She'd barely started powering up her straightener when Ty called. "Hey Barbie, want me to make you a sandwich while you're locked up in there?!"

"Screw you Ty," she called back. "And gimme two with jam please!" She started attacking her bangs with the hot iron. After about fifteen minutes continuously torching the living daylight out of them they were finally straight. She, with utmost concentration, placed her black headband into her hair and… perfect! Well, perfect-ish. She poked some at her nose, which had an unpleasant little bump in the middle which hurt like hell. Perfect-ish, definitely.

At least Ty did make her two sandwiches with jam. She looked out at the porch of the cabin to see Ty talking on his cell with someone. Probably his family. Talking about family, hadn't she promised to call hers every night? Riiiight…

She quickly snatched her own cell and typed in the number. It took forever but finally her mom picked up. "H-hello?" came the groggy sounds of a person who'd just woken up.

"Mom? Hey it's Daphne!"

"Daphne? I don't know a Daphne," her mom said sleepily. "Why is my only daughter calling me at six in the morning when she promised to call in the evening?"

"Six in the-" Daphne checked the rather obviously huge clock above the counter of the tiny kitched, yupp, definitely six o'clock. "Tyyyyyy," she grumbled. "Right, sorry mom, kind of got hung up on something yesterday…"

"On what? And who is Ty? Daphne are you already ignoring the stranger danger?" Jo demanded.

"Maaaaybe," Daphne answered but quickly changed the subject. "I kind of, sort of broke my nose yesterday…"

"You WHAT?!"

"Broke my nose, yes. You see there was this reeeeally weird dude out of nowhere and kind of jumped me and he had this really strong crocodile-thing and then one of his minions elbowed me in the nose, but don't worry! Ty took care of me, he knows first aid… I think. Or I hope he did."

"Daphne Alejandra Georgopoulos, get your ass back home RIGHT NOW!"

"Mom? That won't do, do you know how long it took me to get here?!" Daphne demanded. "You can't just order me to come back home!"

"Oh to hell I can!" Jo snapped. "You're only one day away and you've already broken your nose, got attacked by strangers and tagged along with another perfect stranger, an older boy I assume?"

"NO! Well, yes, maybe…"

"Come home. NOW."

"You know what, mom, no. No I won't. You tell Georgie I love him, alright, bye!" Daphne hung up, angry with her mom for ordering her around like that. So Ty was older than her, and a boy, and a perfect stranger, and she kind of sort of just demanded to tag along with him. Didn't mean that there was anything wrong with him, was there?

She grabbed her bag and stepped out to the porch where Ty was already waiting for her. "Ty, are you a pervert?"

"Am I WHAT? No! Of course not! Why would you even ask that?!"

"Oh, nothing, okay let's go-" Just as she walked along the grass her foot caught on something and she face-planted. "OW!" She yelled half into the ground. Getting up she rubbed her nose which was throbbing now, only to see something shiny on the ground. "SHINY!" She picked the shiny thing up that had caused her to trip, it was a chunk of metal.

"God no!" Ty outed in horror. Please, please, please tell me that's not what I think it is!

"What is it?" Daphne wondered. She got out her Pokédex and used it to hit the metal, to her surprise the Pokédex actually knew what it was. It droned out something about a "Metal Coat" and some other crap until it droned out something interesting too. "It is used to evolve Onix into a Steelix."

"Steelix? What's that?" The Pokédex had an answer for that too. Up came a picture of a totally wicked, kickass and downright terrifying creature. "AWESOME!" Daphne clapped her hands cheerfully. "ALRIGHT! Let's evolve you Galileo!"

"Actually, let's not!" Ty grabbed the Metal Coat from Daphne. "It's, eeehm, not a good idea to, ehm, forcefully evolve a Pokémon, ehm, that, ehm, young, yeah!" Ty pulled out of his ass. There were few things that terrified him as much as that stupid girl with a creature that could probably wipe out entire cities. "You know what, I, ehm, I'll hold on to it until Onix is read, okay? It's really heavy so, yeah, ehm, I'll keep it with me. Okay?"

"Okay, sure," Daphne said cheerfully, daydreaming about having such a creature as that Steelix under her wing. It would be AWESOME.

Oh God, Ty thought. Now I'm never going to get to get rid of her. Alright Ty, it's for the good of mankind, repeat, for the good of mankind. You can do this, you're a martyr, man, a freaking martyr! They're gonna call you a SAINT after they find out what you did. Saind Tyler. Yeah, totally.

"Ehm, helloooooo," Daphne waver her hand in front of his eyes. "I said let's get going!"

"Oh, right, yeah, yeah, totally, Saint Tyler…"

"What did you say?"

"Ehm, nothing, let's goooo!"

***

"CIVILIZATION! I CAN TASTE IT IN THE AIR!" Daphne twirled in the air at the delight of the very yellow sight in the distance. "We're going to make it Robinson, we're going to make it!"

"Could you maybe not yell? You're giving me a headache," Ty complained rubbing his head. They'd been walking for a few hours and finally Citrine city was in sight. FINALLY. Some REST from the hyperactive child walking next to him!

"Wait, what's that?" Daphne pointed at the sound of violent hissing. When they got a little closer they could see a black snake in an epic battle to the death with a little orange deer-thing. Well actually it was more a battle for death for the little deer. The snake had itself wrapped all around the little deer probably about to have a meal-time. Daphne stared at it, she'd never seen Pokémon eat, or attempt to eat, other Pokémon before, it was rather disturbing. "Onix, go save that poor Deer-thing!" She called releasing her own psycho snake.

Onix roared and thundered towards the snake who startled enough to let the little deer go. It then hissed in response to Onix' roared and puffed itself up. "Ehm, shouldn't you check the thing out first?" Ty suggested .

"Right! But how do I get close enough to hit it?"

"Hit it? You just push that button there!" He pushed it for her and the Pokédex started droning thing out about a "Seviper."

"Oh…" Daphne said, then shrugged. "I liked hitting it better. Okay Onix? Use screech!" Both humans covered up their ears as Onix screeched worthy of a banshee, making the Seviper writhe in pain. "Now use wrap!" Onix closed the distance as quickly as a solid rock snake could and wrapped himself around the Seviper. However it wouldn't be so easy, the Seviper snaked himself out of it easily, seemed like she wasn't going to fight this snake with its own tactics.

The Seviper wrapped itself around Onix instead and then licked him RIGHT between the rocks of his body. A violent shudder when through Onix and he kept shuddering. "He's paralyzed," Ty provided for Daphne, who panicked.

"Okay, okay, what do I do, WHAT DO IT DO?!"

"Stay calm for one, it'll just slow him down, keep battling," Ty provided with an eye-roll.

"Okay, Onix, use rock throw!" Onix, however, just shuddered and stayed as he was while the Seviped continued using his lick attack.

"That's normal, sometimes he'll freeze, just try it again."

"Rock throw, come on Galileo!" Onix finally shook himself loose a little. He did a little move on his own accord, rolling over the ground squashing the snake underneath him. Then he rammed it with his huge tail, and did it again, and again, and again.

"Tell him to stop!" Ty yelled out. Daphne did and Onix stopped, but not without one more *tiny* slam. For good measure. NO ONE gave that Onix a status condition without paying for it in full. Onix huffed and stared at the now-fainted (and slightly flattened) snake on the ground. Whimp. He'd be good to never see that sucker agai- OH MY GOD WHY DID IT JUST DISSAPPEAR INTO A POKéBALL!

"Wait, you're catching it?!" Ty asked, having similar yet subdued thoughts to Onix'. Did this girl really need ANOTHER psycho snake?

"Well yeah, didn't you see how AWESOME that thing was? It was like NINJA LICK ATTACK and stuff!" Daphne rambled excitedly.

"I thought you wanted something fluffy?"

"Oh, right yeah, I did… Well I've still got Newt!"

"Newt's mine."

"Is he?"
