Ash has released his Butterfee, Pidgeot, Lapras and Goodra. He's put his Charizard in training, but Charizard returns, so let's not count him. He put Squirtle back with the Squirtle Squad and his Primeape with another trainer. Team Rocket has released all of their Pokemon besides their current ones, or just gave them up to the boss. There were others, such as Paul, as well. Now, I'm wondering, what do you think became of these Pokemon after they were released? Do you think that, perhaps another trainer caught Team Rocket's Pokemon, or they have remained wild forever? Also, we know Ash broke his promise. For shame, Ash, go back for Pidgeot!

I'm guessing the two Victreebel that James released now have little Bellsprout babies.

Arbok and Weezing are now probably leaders of the groups of Ekans and Koffing respectively. Since those Ekans and Koffing were saved from a poacher, they might not be able to trust humans, so I guess they live somewhere where they can't be disturbed by them.

Dustox is self explanatory, she's living peacefully with her mate and their new babies just like Butterfree and his mate. Since Dustox's mate is shiny, people would more likely try to catch him than her.

You forgot to mention how he broke his promise regarding Butterfree (I definitely know he said they would meet each other again someday when saying goodbye to him).

I know Squirtle is technically still in Ash's custody because he returned for the Battle Frontier. And as far as Lapras, last we checked, he's still leading the Lapras pod. Goodra's presumably still guarding its home.

As far as Arbok and Weezing, most likely they are still guarding that flock of Ekans and Koffing from poachers.

In all fairness to Ash, at least Original Series Ash, regarding Pidgeot, he would have probably gone to visit Pidgeot after Orange Islands if Professor Oak didn't tell him to immediately head to Johto to give Kurt the GS Ball (in what ultimately proved to be a very pointless gesture thanks to dropping that plot point). AG Ash, however, had NO such excuse, since he wasn't exactly under any time pressure to get to the Battle Frontier.

As far as Paul, most likely caught by another trainer or just doing what they were doing beforehand.

I presume all the other released ones are just chilling where we left them honestly. I don't think any of them, except for maybe Paul's, are ever going to be caught by another trainer since they loved their original trainers too much.

As for Pidgeot and Primeape though, I'm just waiting for them to come back someday. Ash will remember at some point. I think the writers are just dragging it out for a bit, or at least I hope, because Pidgeot was so important to Ash in the OS and Primeape had such an amazing bond during their short stint that I just have to hope he one day comes back as highly unlikely as that is.

In all fairness, in the Japanese version, Ash never actually promised to see Primeape again (in fact, only the narrator indicated they'll see each other again). But yeah, he really needs to fulfill his promise to Pidgeot and Butterfree.

True true, its more of a personal thing that I want Primeape to come back. As for Pidgeot, yeah he really needs to. That was a seriously blatant promise that Ash made and still hasn't done anything about it. In terms of Butterfree I'm not that upset that Ash and him haven't reunited. There's no real reason for that either. It would be great if they did since that was Ash's first caught Pokemon but if the don't reunite ever I'll be okay with it.

Yeah, I'd be okay with them not reuniting if Ash didn't explicitly promise their reunion when saying farewell to him.

Seriously, at least with Johto, Ash had an excuse for not visiting Pidgeot. Not so much with the Battle Frontier portion of AG. Honestly, the writers had a golden opportunity to have Ash reunite with Pidgeot, and they BLEW it. Won't be the last time they wasted a perfect opportunity for anything, unfortunately, especially when they later blew a perfect opportunity to not only bring Misty back temporarily in BW, but even a chance at closure to her goal (I'm talking about the World Conference from B2W2 and how the writers basically ignored it other than via a Junior cup in Best Wishes).

Yeah the writers always miss golden opportunities! Just think, if Ash came back like he promised, we could be talking about him potentially having a mega Pidgeot cause those two definitely could've had the bond to do it! That would be a great team even if it did mean Ash would potentially have 4 flying types on the team depending on whether the writers decided to go the same route or not with Ash's captures.
