So, basically in this segment, in each article we will be looking indepth of one finished game, and how people reacted at it and such, how the story of it played out, what were the memorable highlights of the players. There are a ton of games that were hosted in the Underground and as time goes by, there will be more games that will stand out.

    What do you guys think?

There are so many games, perhaps this would be a cool monthly/bimonthly round up. Summaries, winners, moments, etc. I know I'd love to look back on a game and have a laugh.

Otherwise it might be too frequent? I'm not sure :c.

That's what Ulli and Eros also suggested in the Skype Chat when I asked them. So, if this idea were to be accepted, it would most definitely be a monthly thing, so that it would be frequent enough to tackle all of the games, but at the same time, not frequent enough to lose interest.

    I dig it. :)

I'm concerned that this is only relevant to a small number of people, and that the larger range of people that we hope will read Daily won't... really care what happened in some Mafia games. I think that this sounds quite exclusive and niche, and I'm not sure that it's appropriate for a site-wide audience.

I dunno. I don't make the decisions regarding Daily, haha.

[PokeCommunity.com] The Salty Snail Stories [UG GAME ANALYSIS SEGMENT]

In short - we are open to PC-Forum-specific content on Daily.

But that said, there will be some limits and caveats.

    - Content purely about forum events - no Pokemon relation within them - will not go on the main page. Rather, these will go on a separate page that'll be easily accessible from the main Daily site's menu (next to News, Columns, etc - maybe it'd even be that currently unused 'The Community' link). Like a secondary article feed page I suppose. This is because we still want the focus to be Pokemon related, but for any readers interested in reading such articles, there'll be a place for them.

Forum Feature articles ala the already published UG one may be an exception to this - may need consideration, but everything else will go on this separate page. This setup also has to be coded first, and may be subject to minor change.

    - There will be limits on how often we have such articles. Again, we want the focus to be Pokemon-related content, so if there's a period where we'd rather have that, we may reschedule the posting of such forum-specific articles. Roughly we'd like to aim for a ratio of 10:1 for Pokemon content:non-Pokemon content. Also, we'd want a balance, so not just UG articles for example.

    - This article series here isn't approved... yet. We were discussing this sort of content in general is all, so that will come a bit later.

On that last point specific to the article pitched here, I'd like to know how the featured UG game will be picked. I think focusing in part on the tactics used in the game would be interesting too, and may help other players learn some tricks.

Another thing that comes to mind is to what level of reader are you going to write for? To be more accessible, you may want to have it written so that those who haven't played mafia before understands what is going on. I feel this is better as hence you're more likely to attract new people to check out the section.

If you don't mind, I'd like to give my opinion. I think it's great that non-pokemon things are gonna be accepted. However, I find it rather pointless to limit the number of these articles. Restricting non-pokemon articles will not help to focus on pokemon articles. There are already a lot of sections on PC that consumes too much time; people will write what they want, they won't write about pokemon just because there is nothing else to write about. This is my most honest opinion on the subject.
If you want to show off a section's activities on PC, you might be better off contacting the smt staff and ask that they put a Mafia game review or reflection on tumblr or so (: or maybe you even make it a thread in the UG and have it linked to from twitter, fb etc. The Daily is a pokémon newsletter by PC members, not first and foremostly about PC members (or the forum even). At least that's what I think it means haha

Well, I'm still working on the kinks for how will the featured UG game be picked, but for the pilot article, I was planning to do an article about Rocket's Investigation because

    a) It's a Pokemon themed mafia game
    b) Some of its new concepts are easy to comprehend
    c) It is the most posted thread in the Underground by far

I personally think if this segment does get approved, it should start with that game.

I agree that the potential readers of the article should be able to understand the jargon present so maybe we can divide the article into three parts, the first part could be the game itself, what were some of the features that were presented in the game, then next could be the player's musings, and ask what it felt like when playing the game, what were some of the memorable highlights, then last could be a short mafia tip section where the UG regulars can suggest tips and tricks in playing mafia.

Of course, we would probably going to have a little blurb before the article itself and quickly introduce what is mafia all about and such...

Ooh Rocket's is a good choice. Although I think the third segment should be related to the game, again. Like a parade of the winning team (players/pokemon) rather than unrelated hints and tips.
