The Star in the Sky

AJ tried to ignore all the looks that had been bestowed upon him during the time they had gotten to the Pokecenter in the new city. It looked like everyone was on to him, he was viewed as what he was, a demon. An evil, demonic child that would scare the crap out of the ring girl, AJ knew he would have to kill them off soon before they tried something, this would be difficult if he didn't do it right. AJ saw that they were at the Pokemon center and smiled, Tom was bunking with him. Perfect. If Tom was careless enough he might be able to kill off the stupid duck, it would have to be quick though and his new attacks wouldn't be good for an instant kill. AJ felt his backpack on his back and smiled broader, he had bought something that might help back at the market with the money Ben had sent.

Uh oh... AJ thought to himself as the new catlike girl showed herself up, another target if she stayed with the group. AJ heard his stomach grumble quite loudly, he turned to Tom who was talking to the girl. " Tom I'm hungry..." He said, trying to act child like, trying to atleast get Tom's trust. Considering that Travis, Kaki, Zaiku and Cain didn't seem to trust him very well.

Zaiku had seemed to be ignored mostly as she was looking for something she had dropped. Zaiku decided to stand there for a few seconds and wait for her. It was then he realised AJ telling Tom that he was hungry.
He seemed to try being innocent but Zaiku could see clearly he was ready to take out Tom first.

Zaiku was still watching him.
He turned away to see that Theresa was still looking for whatever she was looking for.

Theresa didn't spare a glance for those who had inquired about her search, but merely grunted, "It's really shiny. And round. And it makes a pretty sound." Unbeknownst to those behind her, she frowned, contemplating the situation and dropping to the ground with a sigh. Suddenly, her ears pricked forward and her grey-blue eyes shone with pleasure. "Myaha! There it is!" she cried triumphantly, diving under a table and lunging for a spherical object that shone like crystal and bore a red ribbon through a loop in its crafting. Obviously delighted beyond words, Theresa made to stand with a flourish to show her prize, but she instead collided with the underside of the table head-first, and a sickening crunch ensued.

"Uguu! That really hurt!" she whined, tears forming at the edges of her eyes again. She hugged the shiny object, which appeared upon closer inspection to be some kind of bell, to her chest possessively and rocked backwards and forwards, crying in pain. Auu ... I'm fourteen, but I can't help but act like this, she mused inwardly. Surely, she had been through a lot compared to others her age, but she had hardly matured, it seemed. In fact, she seemed to have almost become less mature and more dependant on others.

She looked around past her tears, her eyes wide and innocent. Most of the people around her, aside from the few astonished bystanders who had had the mere misfortune to pass through the pokemon center at that time, appeared to be suffering similar effects to herself. In fact, one was even shorter than herself by at least four inches. Another was covered in blue fur, and seemed to be trying to pull off the 'I'm-oh-so-cute-and-innocent' act. Pfft. What an amateur. Another common factor between the group appeared to be the absence of fingers. And the boy who had spoken to her had been mixing pokemon sounds with his speech. She tilted her head and her stomach growled, protesting against the famine that had befallen it since the New Year.

((Sorry about that. Smoked chicken (aka HAM) kills my brain. -dead- Also sorry if it appears I'm not active; my time zone is different to practically everyone since I live on a rock in the middle of nowhere and I have school, as well as other commitments. I'll still get on every day, though.))

Zaiku noticed in her aura that she hadn't eaten for a very long time which made him realise that he was also hungry, he had seemed to have an increase in appetite since becoming a partial pokemorph.

He had thought since the more the merrier, he could probably invite Theresa to join the group for lunch(or whatever meal is for what time it is), and somehow convince her to join the group, especially since that way they could defend themselves from Aj better.

"Say uh, the name's Zaiku, my friends and were just about t grab a bite to eat, wanna come?" Zaiku asked in a friendly way.

Theresa looked at Zaiku and wiped her eyes with her hood and stood up, only to hit her head again and swear under her breath. She proceeded to shuffle away from the table and stand up a safe distance away from any objects that posed even the mildest threat. She felt an odd clenching feeling in her stomach at Zaiku's offer, but then shook her head regretfully. "Oh, no, I'm fine - myaa. I'm not really that hungry," she lied, poking her tiny stomach critically and grimacing as she felt the give. She knew she wasn't fat, but her stomach was just a bit too squishy for her liking. "Trying - mya - to cut down on the carbs, y'know," she explained, lifting her jeans to put her boots back on. She was wearing ankle-length cotton socks, although what looked like small, thin claws were poking out from their tips. She pulled her jeans back over the boots, which sported a large, decorative buckle, and leaned over to grab her jacket and put the hood over her head to make herself look at least a little less inconspicuous. The rest of the jacket hung down her back, however, so her thin, pale arms were still exposed.

She sighed again. She would have loved to eaten in company - these people looked like they knew at least more than her about the disappearance of the world's pokemon - but it would have been awkward. Since leaving home, she had not had any money and had simply been surviving on pure determination, which was quickly running thin. The bell - 'clear bell', she had seen on its label - had, in fact, come from the Tin Tower. It had been inside a display cabinet at the foot of the tower, and as curious as the pokemon into which she appeared to be turning, she had removed it from its house. Then a 'large, scary old man' had come running towards her at a remarkable pace, waving his arms and making a ferocious face, so Theresa had done what any other child would have - she ran. And that was her life story. And since obtaining the bell, she had become steadily more attached to its circular, shiny charms. She would hate herself for it, but she had no other choice - now that she had it, it would be thought of as a stolen object. She had to sell it. Looking at Zaiku, Tom and Travis in turn, she gave a shallow bow to each and took a step back. "Thanks for trying to help. I have to go find, uh, grass." She cursed inwardly as the first word that came to mind made the sentence completely worthless and unbelievable. Why grass? Oh my God. What the hell is that supposed to mean? "I have to go find grass." What am I, a miltank?" She groaned. I hate being blonde. Sometimes. Maybe.

(( </grass obsession over> ))

"Well uh... Okay, you go find that grass or something..." Zaiku tried to reply sounding somewhat confused about the grass...
He turned to the others...
"Yo guys, I'll be in the cafeteria getting myself some grub, you guys coming?" Zaiku asked while walking towards the cafeteria.

Zaiku's parents had been sending him money along the way through the pokenav and he had around 9000 poke at the moment, quite a lot of money for a kid. His parents were rather wealthy and had well-paying jobs which was lucky for him because he had enough money to survive out there.

When he entered the cafeteria there seemed to be nobody in line, so he just walked straight up to the front, he noticed he had gotten a stare from a couple of teenagers around 15, both in leather jackets and one had fangs and looked like a Zubat with blue hair she had a creepy paleness to her and kind of looked gothic, and the other had even bigger teeth, and a huge mouth meaning he was probably a Mawile. Zaiku didn't like the piercing stare they gave him so he kept his eye on them, he walked up to the lunch lady and bought himself a healthy salad, (after all the junk food they had before) and an assortment of meatballs. Zaiku unrolled a wad of cash to pay her, which seemed to have caught the eyes of the creepy teens.

He had sat at a big table in a nice shady corner away from the windows and put his tray down when he felt himself be dragged in an abrupt motion to a corner out of site from the others, he looked around and saw it was the Zubat girl and the Mawile guy, he also saw at least 7 more of the leather jacket clad gang. Zaiku knew right there and then that he was in hot water.

The Zubat girl began to speak in a harsh and piercing whisper with her mouth close to his ear. "Give us that money and we won't hurt you!"
The others made threatening gestures in order to intimidate him, he noticed the Zubat girl had his left arm and the Mawile guy had his right arm, whilst the others had encircled him.
Zaiku had cracked a smile; "If you want my money…" he paused
"YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE IT FROM ME!!!" at that second Zaiku had emanated a psychic pulse to harm the whole group slightly and teleported himself in a short distance away as they chased him into the main foyer where all his friends were, Zaiku took a battle formation.
"No time to explain guys, I'm afraid that we have to fight our way out of this one!"
He turned his head to Theresa, "You gonna run or fight? You better choose quickly!"
The enemies charged towards Zaiku and the guys.

AJ watched as the leather cladded freaks chased after Zaiku, as he led them to the group, AJ couldn't help but thank him for the supply of entertainment. AJ smiled broadly and started to walk forward, ready to kill, his first target was a Mawile that seemed to lead the group that was chasing after Zaiku for some strange reason. As he walked AJ started to strain his hand, building up intensely burning heat inside one of them while he started to charge an overkill pulse bomb in the other. It seemed he was very close to the Mawile, AJ didn't sense any fear in the pokemon, yet. AJ stood in way of the Mawile, " Move out of the way shrimp!" The Mawile yelled, AJ merley laughed, which seemed to anger the steel beast, the Mawile bared it's teeth and charged forward toward AJ. But AJ was gone, a use of extreme speed had pushed AJ right behind Mawile.

AJ pumped back his pulse bomb hand and then- Charged it forward! Releasing the mighty Pulse bomb into the Mawile's back, AJ heard a small gasp and looked at the strange mark his attack left, but AJ wasn't finished. AJ turned the Mawile around and grabbed it's face with the burning hand, and squeezed. The Mawile screamed in pain as AJ held it in the air, burning it's face. AJ dropped his prey, which was now twitching slightly and breathing heavilly, the face was covered with bruises and blisters.

" Who's next?"

"Holy..."

Travis heard the cries of the Mawhile and Zaiku's yell from outside. Without hesitation he leaped to his feet, dashing through the open doors. Sniffing, he felt an unfamiliar smell hit his nostrils. Burned, he decided, something's burned.

With a wild roar, Travis practically hurtled across the ground, his shoeless feet making deep claw marks in the dirt. He arrived just in time to see Zaiku running from a mob of crazed thugs, who seemed intent on taking something from him. Before Travis could step forward to help, however, another grisly spectacle met his sharp vision. There, not thirty feet away, stood AJ, practically laughing at the near-dead Mawhile at his feet. Shadows clouded over Travis's face. There was nothing wrong with fighting to protect someone, but killing, he knew, was unacceptable, with certain exceptions. And in his mind, using your powers to inflict far more pain then necessary on an opponent was not one of those circumstances. His plans shifted. First, call off and stop the five-year-old demon. Second, make sure those punks quit it.

Cracking his knuckles, Travis stepped forward. "AJ, za," he said carefully, not wanting to antagonize the pint-sized terror. "I can handle these punks. You go get help za. This isn't your fight za." Those words seemed to reinvigorate him and strengthen his conviction. Suddenly, he felt his blood rising. Who was this kid anyway? Why did he think he had the right to interfere in someone else's battles?

"Yeah, this isn't your fight, shrimp!" a voice rang out from behind Travis. To his shock, Travis turned to see Ricky, still bruised from his earlier encounter with the Zangoose. Sensing Travis's question, he replied "I followed grrr, Kaki, herrre and I want to help protect herrrr."

Travis shrugged. Fair enough.

Zaiku had closed his eyes and stuck his had out forward as the Zubat girl came dashing toward him, his hand began to tremble heavily, and out of it came a continous beam that trainers liked to call "Psybeam". It must've also been what trainers called "super effective", considering that she was partly zubat giving her a poison type.

The beam had seemed to raze through her without making any holes, but she soon dropped to the floor unconcious, or she "fainted" or whatever.

However then one of them what had seemed to be a partial torchic had rammed up behind him whith a charging version of peck. Zaiku caught by surprise seemed to feel extreme pain and unable to move for five seconds, until he had teleported behind the torchic and shot another psybeam, but it was much too agile and constantly escaped the barrages of beams. He then heard nurse Joy call out, "Take one of these!"

Zaiku turned his attention to her as a spoon with wierd twists in it came his way. He caught it by clapping it between his hands as his fingers weren't much good for catching.
"A twisted spoon..." Zaiku muttered under his breath, a wide grin came across his face.
Now I can use stronger and faster psychic attacks.

Kaki had traveled to the home of the Kimono girls, her arm up and her hand curled into a fist. She was about to knock upon the door until she heard a scream of some sort followed by a laughter that sounded so much like AJ's it couldn't be ignored.

Kaki growled in defeat, her visit with her friends becoming posponded, Kaki turned and ran towards where she was hearing the laughter. Following her ears alone, she dashed across the ground, finally seeing some of her friends behind the Pokemon Center, AJ laughing in such a manner that made her stop dead in her tracks. She definately didn't like that laugh, and the pain the Mawile made her go pale.

She grunted angerly and tried to rush forward, but was suddenly yanked back. A strong arm curled around her neck and she being squeezed slightly, making it rather uncomfortable for her to breath. Her heels were kicked, causing her to walk forward towards the group. "Leave my friends alone!" Demanded the one holding her.

Kaki made an effort to see who he was speaking of, watching the Mawile and the Zubat. She looked up the best she could, seeing the pain on the Machop's face. "I'll choke her to maa death! T-trade! My friends for her." He offered. She could feel just how nervous he was. His grip tightened and Kaki gave out a squeak of pain as the Machop held her there, waiting for a reply of some sort.

As the Machop approached, a single thought shot through the minds of both Ricky and Travis simultaneously.

Kaki!

There was no planning, no deliberating actions. They both acted entirely on instinct, without consulting their better judgement. The result was spectacular.

Quickly, in order to avoid the Machop's sight, the two rivals zigzagged behind her, both using the "agility" attack that seemed to come naturally to them. Then, before the others could react, the two of them had moved in for the kill, their claws both simultaneously contacting the Machop's temples. A low growl escaped both of their throats as, without warning, they pressed.

"Let my love grrrow! I mean, go!" Ricky growled.

"Release Kaki, or feel the pain of love, za!" Travis growled, before slapping himself lightly in the face for actually saying something that stupid.

Theresa bit her lip as the odd collection of bandits swarmed the cafeteria, attacking first Zaiku, and then moving onto others as they moved in to defend Zaiku. The way she saw it, she had two options: A) fight, or B) run. If B, she could be gone without anyone noticing never to be seen again. Mutant meowth-girl wielding a sacred object? No chance. She sighed as she kicked off her shoes and folded her jacket into a neat pile on the nearest sofa, carefully tucking the clear bell into its folds where it would be hidden from prying eyes. Why did I even bother putting them back on ..? she wondered, flicking her wrist leisurely. As she did, a set of long, thin claws sharpened to deadly points extended from the shorter human nails on both hands. Flexing them experimentally, she crept into the cafeteria on padded feet, making no sound even though she barely thought about it.

Half-dead person with many burns. Effective, surely, but not necessary. Work of the amateur. Unconcious zubat girl. Zangoose boy and beaten-up kid about to go at it, then changing their minds to save a girl being held hostage. Not her fight. Zaiku with spoons. They looked retarded. Girl being held hostage. Not her fight.

Unfortunately for one of the seven who remained on their feet, he had chosen to wear a shining gold coin around his neck for some odd reason. Theresa's eyes and the coin on her head shone with excitement, and before she knew what was happening, she had dropped onto all fours and was charging at the offending coin-wearer. He looked a little shocked at first, then uncertain, scared, and then decided to do something productive. He turned tail and ran. "Myau?! Comebackmister!" Theresa called after him, speeding up and launching herself full-throttle at the retreating man, who appeared to be some kind of caterpie-like creature. Her claws dug into his shoulders while her teeth ripped at the string around his neck. The coin flew into the air, and Theresa leapt for it, her back claws slashing across the back of her opponent's neck. They would sting for a while, but they were too shallow to be fatal.

Pleased with herself, Theresa pocketed the coin and tied what was left of the string that ran through it around her left wrist and over the top of her glove. One tiny, sharp fang protruded from her mouth as she sat down to remove her gloves and groom her short, creamy fur as she watched Kaki and her assailant out of the corner of her eye.

Zaiku flashed around as he saw Kaki being held hostage, but then Ricky and Travis had seemed to have taken care of it. Zaiku then turned his attention to the Torchic again who was charging towards him.
Zaiku smiled and stuck out his twisted spoon, from it he manifested a luster purge. It was a spectacular ball of white light that had seemed to send the Torchic into the air, from there Zaiku teleported behind him and shot a series of the attack confusion one after another, the twisted spoon was really helping. The Torchic had seemed to fall to the floor.

"Come on punks!" Zaiku shouted "Make my day!"
This had really seemed to cheese off what appeared to be a scyther. Uh-oh bad move!
Scythers were extremely versatile and they could use bug moves which were super effective against Psychic pokemon.

However Zaiku realised that he would need to find attacks Ralts can use that aren't Psychic type. Too late, Scyther had just slashed Zaiku across the stomach rapidly with a succesion of slashes. Zaiku had fallen to the ground in agony when a spark had lit up in his brain, he had manifested his emotions (As a Ralts is the "emotion" pokemon) He had been blazing with anger, and had conjured up a wicked fire punch that had burst into flames upon contact with his opponent.
"4 down, 5 to go." Zaiku announced while gripping his stomach where he had been slashed mercilessly.

Zaiku tried using recover which normally he struggled doing, but the twisted spoon had changed that, Zaiku noticed the slashes rapidly closing uo, and the blood drying away.
He then teleported to AJ.
"Dude, you don't need to put these guys in intensive care." Zaiku tried explaining, "but if you're not gonna listen to me let's just go all out now and leave 'em with max revives when we move." Zaiku struck a battle pose as more enemies closed in.

Kaki gasped for another breath, thinking she was going to die there, useless and a dansel in distress...So much for helping her friends, she was just a stupid distraction from the other gang members that were beginning to come 'round. Useless, that's what Kaki was, or at least that's what she thought some of the others she called her friends thought about her. What real good had she done for the team anyway? Supply the Rainbow Feather?

She spent what felt like her last moment sheading a tear and suffering silently, taking the pain that she had lead herself into. But the next thing she knew, the Machop's grip was loosened and Kaki fell onto her knees, coughing and breathing in an uneven pattern, her neck sore and stiff, that tear she shead rolled off her cheek and onto the grass.

Ricky appeared at her side, taking her arm to help her up onto her feet. She looked at him, then looked at Travis, offering the best smile she could manage. "T-thanks." She said weakly to the both of them. She tried to clear her throat, but it only made it feel more raw and burning. That was something she never wanted to go through again, but she was thankful that it was at least over with, but now was no time to be lagging, for the group was being surrounded by the gang that was much bigger than they expected.

When Zaiku defeated that Scyther, there was a Pinsir waiting to back him up. She made an attempt to call out to him, but nothing but a squeak came forth from her throat. She broke away from Ricky's grip and rushed forward towards the Pinsir, inhailing as she dashed. She shoved Zaiku out of the way so he didn't end up surprised like her and being hung by the throat and exhaled quickly, a flame edmitting past her lips and right into the Pinsir's face.

Zaiku turned around to see that he had been saved from another one of those dreadful bug pokemon a Scyther by Kaki. The Scyther got burned right in the face, and will probably be out for the rest of the fight.
He called out to her,
"Thanks Kaki!" Zaiku called while giving her a thumbs up guesture.

He then thought that it would be better if he were to fight close to her, 1. because she was his friend and he had to help her out, 2. She helped him out, he should do the same, 3. She was a fire type, and could raze any other bug pokemon that Zaiku was weak against. But before hand a better idea came to him, he teleported to Nurse Joy, and whispered some words into her ear, ahe rummaged through a box and pulled out a black ash covered rock known as charcoal, it helped increase fire strength and was the fire equivalent to a twisted spoon.

Zaiku then re-teleported next to Kaki,
"Again thanks for before Kaki, you're a lifesaver."
Zaiku then handed her the charcoal,
"Here use this, it will increase your strength, speed skill and output for all fire related attacks." Zaiku began, "I also have a simmilar Psychic orientated item known as a twisted spoon. I'm thinking of giving one of these to everyone of their corresponding type... But we gotta keep it hush-hush because of AJ, if that kid got his hands on one, he's gonna be more of a threat than a herd of 70 Tauros being led by every legendery pokemon bundled into one known as Mewthree!" Zaiku then realised that was a pretty big statement, "Well not that strong, but you get the idea."

Zaiku then noticed about ten more of those leather jacket punks walk in.
"Oh come on!" Zaiku complained, "They must be some street gang or something! They're a whole stinkin' organization. Well let's put our items to good use, we're gonna need them. Zaiku took a fighting stance prepared for the challenge ahead.

AJ knew that the other's didn't care for his ruthlessness but AJ didn't care considering they were to die as well sooner or later. AJ almost pitied the badly burned Mawile he had just mawled, that was kind of funny. Like a pun. AJ saw the another opponent, what seemed to be a Scizor, Perfect prey. AJ started to run in an extreme speed towards the Pokefreak, AJ charged up another large pulse bomb and punched the Scizor in the chest creating a large burn that knocked the creature to the ground, the thing moaned before becoming limp, unconcious.

AJ's adrenaline was really pumping by now and he ran for another, it was Houndour hybrid, AJ grabbed it's head and swung it into his knee and then threw the hound to the ground, it's nose started to bleed a little. AJ did a fast swift kick into it's ribs, he heard a sicking crack and a grin let itself spread across the Rulio's face as the thing struggled. AJ sent another kick into the hounds side, breaking another rib, the thing howled and AJ left it.

A Syther was right across from AJ, it looked tough and AJ knew it was challenging him. AJ summoned up his greatest power in his arm and hand, using a steel claw with a thrust punch. The Syther grinned and rose one of it's sythes, the two charged using extreme speed, this would not end well.

It happened within a fraction of a second but the two saw it in a bullet time. A very slow mode of reality, the two collided and the ending picture wasn't pretty. Impalation. AJ had gotten his fist clean through the syther's chest and out it's back, The Syther got the same result on AJ with it's sythe, AJ gasped in pain as some blood dribbled out of his mouth.

The syther didn't seem quite as affected, purple ooze was coming out of the bug but it didn't seem to bad, not as bad as AJ. AJ had lot's of blood pumping out of the hole, staining the shirt he was wearing quite badly.

The Syther grinned and rose the arm with AJ attached to it, ready to take the kill.

AJ blacked out.

OOC: Yay! Dark post.

Zaiku then noticed the gruesome sight, and AJ had seemed to have been impaled, Zaiku couldn't believe what he was about to say, but he still said it,
"AJ!!! I'm coming, don't worry!" AJ may have been creepy, but Zaiku couldn't let him die. Zaiku's fire punch musn'tve finished it off, it was probably since he wasn't that skilled at using fire moves. Zaiku set his right fist on fire, and prepared for another fire punch, AJ had weakened the enemy, so this one should do it.

Zaiku mearly teleported behind the foe and fire punched it in the head, knocking him out, Zaiku picked up the small boy telepathically and had moved him into one of the rooms on to a nice soft bed so he could rest, he then helped Nurse Joy sneak past the fight while carrying some recovery items that hopefully would aid AJ into his room.

Zaiku teleported back into the fray, there were 13 more opponents left, Zaiku was pretty sure that was the last of them, but they still had the group terribly outnumbered. He would need to find a way to attack them all simultaneously, then it came to him... Team Moves...

Sin was not pleased, the body he had been using was on the verge of dying, which was not good. Considering that this was the only true vessel he could acomplish his goal from, it was his chosen body to cause Armageddon from. Sin had been draining the boy of his energy as he was using it, possesing it almost. If he stayed inside the body, it would surley die and he would lose the special body. The boy had potential, the kind that would help in the future if Sin hadn't complied, he could use this body to fully corrupt the future, destroy the earth. Sin had to make the choice, he would leave the body for a while, until it was fully healed, that would probably be quite a while. But it would have to do. For now.

Sin lifted himself from the small boys body and took his leave into the sky, until next time. " Let the world die, just float up into the sky, in my world." Sin said before disapearing.

AJ was back, the one from before, the one that was hoping to live another day, the one. Tears were streaming from his eyes and rolling down his cheeks onto the bloodstained cot and his bloodstained coat, a silent sob, AJ was afraid, a sense of fear from what had happened for so long. AJ was only half awake, he could feel the pain of his wound but couldn't fully understand it, he couldn't think of it, he just wanted to cry.

As sooon as Travis and Ricky's attacks saved Kaki, three important things happened.

One: Ricky, as Kaki was thanking him, was slammed to the ground by a large boulder, hurled by what appeared to be the Machop girl's older brother.

Two: Out of the corner of his eye, Travis saw a Scyther hybrid slash AJ's body. The pain must have been tremendous. But more importantly, the look in his eyes had changed. This wasn't the AJ everyone was worried about. This was more like one they should be worried for. He blinked to steady himself. Maybe he and the others had been wrong about AJ the whole time? Before he could come to a decision on it, however, the next important thing happened, and the gates of Tartarus burst open.

Three: Travis caught the smell of Seviper.

The odor was strong, strong enough to override what sense of humanity Travis had left. Immediately, all his rational thinking dissolved into nothing, leaving only instinct. His eyes narrowed, reddening with malice. He could see him now, a human on the verge of full transformation, whose arms and legs were practically vestigal. His body ached for combat, and without any restraint left, he gave in. A wild roar, deep and primeval, came from his throat as he charged the Seviper, claws outstretched. The Pokemon answered him, swiping his tail at the Zangoose's unprotected body.

Jump

Obeying his instincts, Travis leaped into the air, barely avoiding the Seviper's tail, which had taken on an ominous purple glow. As he landed, he grabbed the offending appendage, ignoring the Pokemon's piteous cries for help, and began whirling it over his head like a ribbon. Finally, and without mercy, he leaped into the air and threw the Pokemon. The Seviper's head cracked on the sidewalk, and it was still.

Kill!

Travis stepped forward. Every fiber of his body, every instinct, was telling him to bring his claws down and crush the piteous Seviper's skull. He was on the verge of obeying, in fact, when he remembered something.

Kaki!

If he killed the Seviper now, in cold blood, what would she think?

But he's an enemy! Kill enemy!

"But Kaki..." he whispered, trembling. He made his decision. He gritted his teeth and took one step back.

Then another.

Then another.

Then, without warning, he ran forward and kicked the offending snakelike Pokemon nearly twenty feet away. "And don't come back, za!" he shouted after him, whirling on his heels and marching back towards Kaki. He smiled. Somehow, he couldn't help the deep feeling of satisfaction running through him.
