Sceptile was pure grass. Shame, I think it would've been beloved if it had a dragon type pinned on.

I wish they would change some types. Blastoise would be wonderful if it were water/steel, and bulbasaur really needs to go a be grass-only like all the other starters.

When these Pokemon were first released, I thought they were fake. But later, after looking at fan art and anime portrayal, I absolutely wanted all three. Tsutaja was my first liked. Mijumaru was almost always seen as female in pre-release screenshots. Pokabu just has a baby's bottom. Once I saw their final evolutions, I was like "these have got to be fake". Now I'm willing to accept them, but I think I might quit Pokemon if that creep Pokexperto is right that their types will be grass, fire/fighting, and water. It feels like a kick in the crotch. Seriously, dual types make the Pokemon and fire/fighting was overused for starters last generation. I'm p.o.ed.
I know right! They had to do another fire/fighting 3 times in a row! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW GIVE US ANOTHER FIRE WITHOUT FIGHTING OK?
And I hope the other two evolutions aren't one type:(.

pfft haha

Tsutaaja : it's cool 10/10
Pokabu: it's cute 10/10
Mijumaru: it's awesome 10/10

Tsutaaja's 2nd: cool looking and i noticed the arms and legs were slowly going away 10/10
Pokabu's 2nd: Not what people were expecting... looks powerful either way 10/10
Mijumaru's 2nd: It's awesome-er definitely a keeper 10/10

Tsutaaja's 3rd: Predictable... at least i predicted it would lose its arms and legs Royal Looking <3 10/10
Pokabu's 3rd: looks like the most Powerful of the bunch 10/10
Mijumaru's 3rd: pretty beastly looking looks kinda speedy 10/10

pfft you people need to learn to lighten up i'd be happy starting with any of them =3

and Saying you don't like Tsutaaja's 3rd because it looks like Milotic is complete BULL
it's a snake and has a snake body
i guess it would be okay for me to say Dragonair = Gorebyss = Milotic = Tsutaaja's Evo
OMG!! they're all too slender and snake like they're all the same, right? =)
i for one don't see a resemblance in Milotic at all =\

Ehhh, I think I'll just use one of the monkeys from the monkey trio instead...
It almost seems like GF made the elemental monkeys as a secondary option. xD
I'll probably use Yanappu for my first time playing White. <3 I've never abandoned my starter before, but I've never tried it, and I think it'll be fun. :3
Ha! That's brilliant. If I get the second game, I might just do that myself. I wouldn't do it on the first game because I honestly think that'd ruin the experience, especially of a brand new generation... but that's just me of course. :P

Well I know, but if you remember starters are 87.5% males.
So it doesn't make sense to make Tsutaaja completely feminine like they did. ;~;

Good thing it's evolution's sprite doesn't hold the girlyness that the Sugimori artwork does.
I always thought they simply correspond to the gender you pick as a trainer... quite stupid that it's not that way. :0

Tsutaaja - 7/10, I dislike its smugness. D: But it looks nice as a whole!
Mijumaru - 9/10, it's adorabe, especially in the anime.
Pokabu - 9/10, it's... cute but because it's a pig, not 10/10.

Tsutaaja's evo - 4/10, I dislike how it's drawn. Something just feels wrong.
Mijumaru's evo - 10/10, I loooove it. At first, hated colouring, but I like now (also getting Mijumaru for this reason).
Pokabu's evo - 1/10, it does not look right to me >____________>;

Tsutaaja's third evo - 4/10, doesn't match previous forms, so unappealing.
Mijumaru's third evo - 6/10, it looks strong! but...weird.
Pokabu's evo - 1/10, again, hating the design, a lot.

/hates most of the evolutions XD;

i guess i'm just too easily impressed xDD
i like them all v.v maybe i'm just weird xP

Forever got the 1000th post WIN xD

I like all of them too so you are not weird, I don't see why people hate Pokabu's evolution so much...it looks cute :)

Like I said in another topic, I personally don't hate the designs. Granted I feel they could have possibly been a bit cooler. The only thing that I didn't like was the typing for Pokabu's evolutions. It just really pissed me off seeing another Fire/Fighting type. Apart from that, just looking at the designs... I like them.

I'm picking Mijumaru and geting the others of the GTS. I was gonna start with Pokabu, but its a Fire/Fighting and I can hardly stand another one of those.

Oh yeah, you're right. That's the reason why I'm not sure if I should do it. It would feel strange to run through a bit of the game with Pokabu, only to box it afterwards. But those evolutions... D:,

And I don't want to keep Pokabu as a Pokabu forever... Hmmm... maybe I should just do that. :0 That way, I can have Pokabu AND Yanappu.. But when I think harder on it, not having Pokabu means one extra space for a better Pokemon. Jebus Chrismo, this is confusing. X_X

Well I understand your anger with the typing :)
though I don't understand those with the designs it's better than Voltorb, Muk and a bunch of other Gen 1 pokemon with only faces on an object...though that's my opinion :)

Why not making one of those? xD

Tsutaja: It looks awesome, no more can be said. xD 9/10
Pokabu: The best of the three (unevolved, that is) 10/10
Mijumaru: Didn't like at first, it kind of grew a little on me, but there's still something wrong with it. xD 7/10

Tsutaja 2: I think it should have been more of a bridge, between the first and third stages. It went from my favourite second stage, to the least. Nonetheless, it's very cool. 7/10
Pokabu 2: I completely hated it at first! But if has fully grown on me and now I just love him (although it could have gone another "boary" way and be dark or something, everything but fight again). 8/10
Mijumaru 2: In the leak scan, I also hated him a little as well. I wanted it to be white, but ever since I've seen him in CoroCoro, I loved him as well. 9/10

Tsutaja 3: It's an awesome third stage. A snake, that's innovating. In spite of turning from smug to "I'm above all and I don't care about you people down there", I still like him. It could have been a lot better, but it could have also been a lot worse, so... 7.5/10
Pokabu 3: It changed a lot, but it's fearsome and third stage starter like. I hated him at first, but seeing the official second stage images, brought new hope for my opinion of him, also, it grew on me, like the second stage. It looks very cool, what can I say (I'm a sell-out xD), although I repeat that this could've gone another "boary" four-legged way. 7/10
Mijumaru 3: No words, it sucks. xD Maybe with the official artwork with some decent colouring and different posing, it can grow a little on me, but that hideous shell-horn looks too bad for my taste. Also, I hoped for something that could stand on his two legs and that wasn't too different from the second stage. They could've turned the shell to a katana that he could handle with his hands, not a stupid horn. xD I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. 4/10 (If I still hate his official artwork, I'll lower this grade to 2/10 or even less, and if I like him, it can go up, but I doubt that, 'cause even if I like it a little more, I'l still be feeling awkward towards it)

I'll start with Pokabu, because it's the coolest in his first stage, his in second in his second stage, and the second (by a little margin) in his third stage. Also, I've never started the game with a fire-type (except when I start with the three pokémon by trading). Although I really love Tsutaja's unevolved form and Futachimaru (Mijumaru's first evo).

I seem to get the high numbers in most threads here for some reason. XD;

And really guys, the typing of fire/fighting doesn't matter. :D
...for Mijumaru's final evo will have fighting/ice/water moves and shall be unbeatable.

Maybe they're trying to make all the starters strong for once.

I thought they tried that in gen 4...with the all strong...
Also Mijumaru is rumored to be pure Water sadly :(

Yes, they are. They stated that they've done the starters so they would be on our party 'till the end of the game, instead of ditched like most of the times...

And I would also love that Mijumaru turned out to be Ice, but it won't... Unfortunately.

Lol, this is why getting both versions (or waiting for the third one?) is a smart idea. :15:

Even if it's pure water, I can almost guarantee it'll know surf, brick break and ice beam by final evolution.

Aaand I probably won't ditch my starter... purely because I want a strong team. XD

I've adored all of the first stages since they were revealed. I love their designs, even more so than those of most of the previous gens' starters. From the start I was certain their evolutions would be even better. The second-stage evos for Tsutaja and Mijumaru made me even more sure of that.

... And then the final evos were confirmed. It all sorta went to hell for me from there.

Tsutaja's is probably the most tolerable for me (despite its awkward color change), though I still prefer Janobii's design. Pokabu3 was a complete letdown for me. I dunno, it's probably just because it isn't what I expected. To be honest I was hoping for a badass boar. Not anything too specific about it. Just... badass boar. Instead I got an obese clown. Reminds me too much of Magmortar (who is probably my least-favorite Pokemon). Not to mention Fire/Fighting. Mijumaru3 I'm not sure about. If it were separate from the Mijumaru line I would probably not mind. But really, based on its design it may as well be separate from the Mijumaru line. It isn't an otter. It isn't a samurai. It doesn't resemble its previous stages in the slightest. It's as if the designers said, "Of course it fits into the Mijumaru line! It's blue! And it has shells on it!" Feels like they just wasted the amazing potential these starters had.

... But I do love Futachimaru. I plan on using Miju as my starter; I just won't evolve it into sealionthing. I've had great playthroughs with unevolved Quilavas and Wartortles, and I doubt this will be much different.

Yeah Most if not all water starters can learn those moves anyways :P
I won't ditch my Devious Tsutarja it's too smug to be abandoned :)

Yeah, that's what they want us to do. xD

I'll keep mine too, since I've never started with a fire one before (then again, except when I started with the three of them by trading). And it doesn't bother me that much that it's fighting, because I didn't choose any of the other Fire/Fighting pokémon, although I would prefer it to be Fire/Dark, or something, but whatever.

I find that funny... Because I might be ditching my starter for the first time. xD

Wobbuffet, oic. x3

I couldn't be bothered with getting both versions, mostly because I know the 3rd one will be better. :> Maybe I'll TRY and hold on to Pokabu for my first playthrough (since I never play through a Pokemon game only once), and then ditch it in the second. >:3
