[News] The Steam Winter Sale is upon us

It's that time of year again - the time to empty your wallets try new games, pick up some last-minute Christmas gifts, find great deals and maybe cross a few items off your wishlist; welcome to the 2017 Steam Winter Sale.

totally didn't repurpose the Summer sale css

The Steam Awards

In addition to great deals, the second Steam Awards of the year will run the length of the Winter Sale. Today's category is "Choices Matter", so be sure to cast your vote for your favorite game of branching paths.

Deals!

But of course, what we're really here for are low, low prices. Listing a few of my own biased favorites/recommendations:

Will you be buying/have you already bought anything during this sale? Which games are you hoping will go on sale in the following days? Got your eye on anything? If you see any amazing games you've played in the past go on sale, feel free to share here and leave recommendations too!

It seems Steam loves to make sure they do their big sales around the same times I won't be able to actually buy games during said sale. In this case, I'm getting money from my daddy today (possibly)...but I'm getting a Nintendo Switch next year. So here I am, stuck between either to buy a game for my shiny new Switch or buy some games I want on Steam. That very tempting Vegas Pro Humble Bundle is NOT HELPING MY CASE HERE.

Here's my wishlist, for those who wanna bother with it. As for recommendations? Well, if you want a taste of some Megaman-esque games before Mega Man 11, I always do love playing some Azure Striker Gunvolt and Legend of Dark Witch.

If you want a game that's basically like classic Mega Man with a few twists, then Zizou has you covered! Legend of Dark Witch 2 is also available on Steam as well. Dark Witch 3 just came out on 3DS, so you should make sure to play that too!

If you like Mega Man X/Zero more than the classics, then I know you'll have some electrifying fun with GV! Unfortunately, his second game seems to be staying on Nintendo platforms for life (No thanks to the final boss having an optional
3DS microphone-powered boost and a bonus boss that can only be fought via having a certain amiibo), so if I were you, you should buy ASG1 on Steam and then buy the sequel at some point on the 3DS eShop or through the Striker Pack on both 3DS and Switch. Be sure to try out the Christmas Mode!

I always love recommending people to play 100% Orange Juice. It's a really fun party game featuring characters from the many games made by Orange_Juice! The RNG can be quite a jerk, but that's what makes this game fun and entertaining for all. And this is a Mario Party-like game. What were you expecting? For your sake, I recommend buying either the All Stars Collection, which will give you all of the current DLC packs available for the game, or 100% Orange Gremlins, a bundle that gives you both 100% Orange Juice and Gremlins Inc., which is basically a party game about being corrupt capitalist gremlins...I never played it, but it looks quite fun! And both games keep getting updated and keeps getting more and more new content as the years go by.

...I don't want to make this post too long, so I'll leave it at that.

I still have a massive backlog and I spend a lot of time in MMORPGs, so I'm generally hot that hyped about Steam sales.

I did buy Postal 2 and Planet Coaster because they had big discounts though. 90% and 75% respectively. Might check into the other games on my wishlist later.

Welp, hopefully someone can gift me at least something. My account? Well, I use the name I use here on Steam as well, same avatar as everything. On the other hand, who knows what 2018 is gonna bring...

Since I don't play much games really, I haven't looked closely into the sales ^^ But I found one really cute game which I gifted to my boyfriend yesterday. A Hat in Time, it's called.
