Pokémon with high HP tend to win out most fights.Isn't Dragonite technically the strongest by possible stats? Just super rare to see.
I've seen a lot of Snorlax, Lapras, and Aerodactyl at stronger gyms.
How strong would you say he is now compared to before? You're kind of my source on all competitive info in GO so I'm curious to see your opinions. Do you think he's still right up at the top or ducking down a bit now?Vaporeon is still strong and again much of it is thanks to how much HP it has.

Personally I've found Lapras to be absurd recently. He was strong before the patch but blimey has he gone crazy now. Buffs to most of his moves on top of an already beastly set of base stats is just crazy. I'm getting a lot of benefit from this as my Lapras is taking down Pokémon he wouldn't have dreamt of beating in the past but oh boy does he feel strong. Dragonite is one I've always been a bit disappointed with - he's never felt at all threatening when I'm taking him on in gyms so that's a bit of a shame.
Ice Shard and Blizzard (went from 60 to 100 BP from memory, crazy buff) are the ones I was talking about since those are the moves my Lapras has haha. I haven't kept up with the other changes so the others may have been too but Lapras in general just feels very strong right now. Dragon Pulse is definitely iffy, lack of STAB and only super effective against Dragon which obviously a STAB Ice-type attack would have covered anyway so not ideal but honestly I don't think you could really go wrong with Lapras in general right now.Which Lapras moves got buffed?
I just acquired a Lapras (freaking yay!!!! =D =D) but was disappointed to see his charge attack is Dragon Pulse. Quick attack is Frost Breath though, so that's cool.
I'm worried that his moveset simply isn't good enough, wondering if I should not level him up right now and just hope I get another one some day. How likely is it that I'll get another, though?
I still tend to see the same with Vaporeon but I get the impression that that's more due to him being so easy to get hold of whilst still being pretty strong. I imagine even if he was average we'd still be seeing a lot of Vaporeon around the place so it's hard to say how much of a power measure that is for him haha. Something like Snorlax is a lot more interesting as it's pretty rare but Vaporeon I think is mostly attributed to a mixture of being very easy to obtain and having naturally high CP values to look impressive.Judging from the gyms I pass each day, most of them are controlled by either Vaporeon or Snorlax, I see a couple of Arcanines from time to time also.
Vaporeon is still at the top for the reasons I listed above, though the damage output is a little less overall with the big Water Gun nerf. But it's all about that HP pool. Pokémon with a lot of HP and can also deal damage will reign up top. Again, Dragonite, Snorlax, Lapras, Vaporeon. That's what they all have in common. We just see Vaporeon get targeted a lot because out of those four, which one do you think is the easiest to obtain? How strong would you say he is now compared to before?
