    With another new generation of Pokémon games on the horizon, I figured why not make a challenge in honor of them. In this challenge, you have to use a team themed around either the sun or the moon, as described below. But fist, here are the rules:

    1. Only games from Generation III and onward are allowed, as are any Dex/Difficulty hacks.
    2. Legendary and Mythical Pokemon are not allowed.
    3. HM slaves are allowed.
    4. You are allowed to hack in any Pokémon that isn't normally obtainable in your chosen game.
    5. You must have at least one member of your planned team by the time you reach the second gym.
    6. The challenge ends when you:
      • Defeat Blue (FR/LG)
      • Defeat Red (HG/SS)
      • Defeat Steven (R/S/OR/AS)
      • Defeat Wallace (E)
      • Defeat Cynthia (D/P/Pt)
      • Defeat Alder (B/W)
      • Defeat Iris (B2/W2)
      • Defeat Diantha (X/Y)

    And now, here are the Pokémon requirements:

    Sun

    1. Solrock
    2. Any Pokémon that evolves with or from a Sun Stone.
    3. Any Pokémon that can only evolve in the morning or during the day in games that have a Morning/Day/Night cycle.
    4. Any Pokémon that can learn any of Morning Sun, Sunny Day, or Solarbeam by leveling up (must permanently have the move as soon as it can learn it).
    5. Any Pokémon that can only be caught in the morning or during the day in games that have a Morning/Day/Night cycle.
    6. Any Fire-type Pokémon.

    Moon

    1. Lunatone
    2. Any Pokémon that evolves with or from a Moon Stone.
    3. Any Pokémon that can only evolve at night in games that have a Morning/Day/Night cycle.
    4. Any Pokémon that can learn any of Moonlight, Moonblast, or Night Shade by leveling up (must permanently have the move as soon as it can learn it).
    5. Any Pokémon that can only be caught at night in games that have a Morning/Day/Night cycle.
    6. Any Dark-type Pokémon.

    Clarification on "any Pokémon that can only be caught at a certain time of day in Gold, Silver, Crystal, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver (though you aren't restricted to those games)":

    Only can be caught at a certain time of day through the entire game? (To take a random example, Wooper can be found in Ruins of Alph and Union Cave at any time of day via surfing in GSC, but can only be found in other parts of the game at night. Is it qualified or disqualified?)

    Finished Soul Silver after the elite four grind/ psycho pass binge. I forgot that all of Red's team was in the 80's in the remakes so I had to challenge him twice.
