I laughed at the sight, sweeping a courtly bow as I said "A pleasure to meet you."

"Yah, yah," Kiari jabbered as she munched on a cracker, and plopped onto an empty couch. Her eyes widen suddenly, as if she got an idea.

"Oh yeah! Gene! I remember now! Maman wanted me to tell you that le pr?tendant is waiting to meet you. He is very glad Maman allowed the meeting, and he-" Kiari glances over at Alberon, before giggling. "Il para?t assez bon coucher!"

~

Genevieve's eyes widen in return. "Nuh uh. There's not been a male like that in a while, that Maman's roped in! You lie, Kiari!"

Genevieve giggles, and plops down next to Kiari, and looks up at Alberon, blushing slightly, before answering the girl. "Tell Maman no more pr?tendants. That one," Gene jerks her chin slightly, to motion to Alberon. "Il est ?le l'un?. Je le sais juste!"

I raised an eyebrow, a bemused expression on my face. I'd never learned any tongue besides elvish. I decided to return to my spot on the couch and wait.

Kiari laughed, and almost choked on a cracker, when she saw the look on Alberon's face. Apparently he had no idea of what they were speaking of; that might be good.

"Gene," she started, her tone scolding. "Don't tell me you think of ?him? in that manner! Maman would have a fit!"

~

"I don't care for Maman right now," Genevieve started. She brushed some of her hair from her eyes. Gene laughed as her sister started choking, before blushing at her comment, her gaze averted to the floor.

Along with teaching me to survive, my grandfather had imparted at least some tact. Making full use of that training now, I turned away from the pair, took out a sausage ant began warming it over the coals of the fire.

Kiari smirks as she stands, and sits next to Alberon. She places a hand on his shoulder and looks up at him, a questioning look in her eyes.\

"You wouldn't mind..sharing, would you?"

~

Genevieve rolls her eyes and averts her gaze to the floor.

"Actusally, yes, I would" I replied, a gleam of mirth coming to my eyes. I added "Besides, there are some things about me that so many find distasteful...Particularly you and yours." true, but it was said with enough of a grin so as to avert any major suspicion.

"Me and mine?" Kiari looked at him, curiously. "And by that, what do you mean?" She brushed some of her dark hair from her eyes, as she glances over at Gene.

"Just trust me on this one" I replied, snickering a bit under my breath. "But I mean you species in general. Not all of them, to be sure" I added belatedly, my eyes flickering quickly towards Gene, "But most, definately."

Kiari had a look of pure puzzlement on her face. "My species is that of a Vampire, the same with Gen..." She looked over at Genevieve, who snickered and blushed.

"As he said, not all of them," Gene pat the seat next to her, and Kiari reluctantly sat.

"That means- Oh my! Gene, Maman would definately have a fit!" Kiari's eyes widened.

"Ki, 'tis fine.. He's..different."

"I suppose" I added to Gene's remark, finishing my thought by saying "Although I rarely see much evidence of that."

"Woah, woah woah, slow down here, I'm still stuck on why you made a specific comment about my species.." Kiari shook her head slightly, confused at the rate they were moving on. "Wouldn't that make you a.. WOAH! Hold on now! I will not allow this, GENEVIEVE!"

"Well, you are not one to decide that, now are you? Nope.. If Maman has to complain about it, then she can go kiss an orc," Gen smirks, before blushing slightly at the insult.

I snorted with laughter at Gene's comment, finding more amusing than it really should have been. On a more serious not, I locked my eyes onto Kiari's and said "Yes, I am. And as far as I'm concerned, then species be ****ed. I suppose, thoigh, that not all see it that way." I sighed at that, recognizing the truth of it for the first time. What would my brothers and sisters of the packs say when they found out I was involved with a Neverborn? And what would her family think? Society in general? Who knew, but for the first time since I'd arrived, the confusion and worry of my daily life seeped back into me.

Kiari's eyes moved left and right furiously, as if she were speed reading a book, except there sat Alberon.

"Silly lycan, there's nothing to be worried about, no need to tell anyone, could be our little secret.." Kiari smirked, a deceiving smirk.

I returned the smirk in full, answering with a cryptic "Perhaps."

"Kiari," Genevieve started, kicking Ki in the bum with her boot. "Shut up."

Kiari falls forward, landing on her face, on the floor. "Gah!"

Gene smiled, before kicking Kiari once more. "I'm sorry for her rudeness, Alberon."

"No apologies needed" I replied, looking at Gene with a lopsided smile. I offered Kiari a hand to help her return to the couch and added "It's nice to see something different once in a while."

Kiari snorted slightly as she returned to her seat by herself, and crossed her arms, leaning back against the pillows.

"Something different?" Genevieve giggled slightly at his smile.

I shook my head slightly, laughing a bit at the same time. This Kiari was an enjoyable enough person. I said to Gene "Yes, she's up-front with her rudeness. Most people try to be subtle about it and wind up looking like fools."

"Who, Kiari? She's greatly frowned upon by the Elders of our village, because of how upfront she-" Genevieve was cut up by Kiari's hand, smacking the back of her head.

"Now you, shut up, Gene. No need for you to be so..open, to a lycan," Kiari popped a cracker into her mouth.

"Ki!"
