The thing is..

You guys need to realize that staffers are, amazingly enough, people as well. They have school and work and friends and a life just like the rest of you. They're not some drones that sit in front of a PC screen all day, waiting anxiously for a report so they can jump on closing it. More often than not, reports are just deleted right away if they come in a big bundle.

People patient people. You complain when the staffers aren't there, but when they are, you complain that they should have been there sooner. Stop complaining...

And staff don't play favourites, or shouldn't. There are rules against that sort of thing, and we get yelled at if we do something we shouldn't, so we're pretty careful about it.

I'll take your word for it Jedi_Amara, and I never knew staffers were people, you have toaugt me something new. @.@, but at any rate, I just balive that things should be done when they should be done. Nothing should be put off to last minute. But that's how I was raised and I can't do anything about that. If you wish I balive that this thread can be closed now, unless some more people wish to discuss this topic further......

-.- oh yeah, just because I can't spell that good dosn't mean you sould put it against me, I hate it when people publisize my spelling errores. its so.......... rude. If I spell things wrong well I'm sorry for making you have to try and understand my typing. geesh.

The fact of the matter is, and I think we've already established it but I might as well reiterate it, is that the mods do answer reports as quickly as possible; read D's post for a perfect description of member expectation versus our reality. We have a lot of responsibilities, including searching the forums for unreported problems, which, more often than not, are in a larger quantity than reported problems.

And I'd explain that we have checks and balances that protect against mod abuse of single members; any important modding decision has to be a consensus one, but I don't think this point will have any relevance here.

I'm sorry if I surprised you by pointing out that staffers are people. We used to have Pok?mon as moderators but they didn't do too well. Snorlax kept falling asleep on the job and squashing Jigglypuff.

Is playing favorites right? No.
Does playing favorites happen? Maybe, maybe not.
The Staff shouldn't do it, and as far as I seen it hasn't happened (might have happend ages ago). If you don't got proof then don't bring it up.

I don't feel like making some super long post where I'm just saying what everyone else has.

People forget what the Staff is here for. Most think we're here just for show (aka never doing anything), and some think we only got this spot because we're well liked around PC. Think that if you want, but it's not true. There is no use for a Moral Advisor because like Ty said, only a hand full could fit in that spot. And on top of that, that's what the Staff is for. You accuse us of playing favorites with members. Yet you really think this MA group wouldn't do the same? Unless you're going to get a bunch of robots to run the group there is a chance that your great MA group could also play favorites. No one is perfect, sure maybe favorites is done in the back of the head where you're not really thinking about it. So what? We're human, non of us is perfect.
And there is no need for a Moral Advisor usergroup because like I said, that's what the Staff is here for.

Eh... someone's complaining about the fact that I'm human... flesh, blood, and bone and all and the fact that my life's a havoc and he says that I'm too slow and sometimes I don't even close certain threads until a few hours later...

Gee... I dunno. Maybe I have school, friends and other related stuff? Okay, Mr. I-think-I'm-better-than-the-staff, why don't you do all of the stuff and make PC so perfect that we're so obsolete... ;P

As far as I'm concerned, the administrators choose their staff based on experience, activity, and dedication?

Experience in their chosen area, yes, but not experience as a moderator. In fact, a few admins' staffing experience started here.

Not necessarily; I was remodded to stop infighting, was all. XD I'd almost left the forum :P

That made me laugh so, freaking hard. XD

And like Ty said, some people started their staffing experience here. For example, me. However, I believe I was modded for activity and dedication in the area I was originally modded in.

*giggles* I like making people laugh~

I know I was modded the first time round for activity in WD. And they wanted to put Greg in there too, but they had Simone already, so I got it and Greg got CQ&F, but he got WD a bit later too :P. (I offered to stand down in his favour, but Abby told me not to.)

Wow, this is really confusing. I mean, I am so isolated and so out of it I have absolutely no idea what those abbreviations mean. xD The only abbreviations I know are... MGC, G&P, MVP, and... OC. I spend just about all of my time in G&P that I have no idea what any of the current events/affairs are at PC. I mean... I'm such a G&P whore that since Fiona left, I still haven't taken one look in the pairup thread :P

Ty: Ty is Airashii's nickname.
WD: WD is Webmasters Discussion
CQ&F: CQ&F is Community Questions & Feedback

More or less it's just forum name that we use abbreviations with.

Ty is short for Airashii's real name, actually. :P

I think we should compile a list of abbreviations. :P

It doesn't take much to be modded...sometimes it doesn't even take anything

If you use decent enough grammar, don't majorly piss off the staff, whore one particular area, respond to a thread saying "This should be closed/moved/merged" before a mod does, buddy up to the staff to let em know you're human...it's all it takes. Kids think that there's some mega secret to becoming a mod, like you have to follow some unwritten guideline and only 20 year vets are modded...but there's really not that much to it.

I know who Ty is, we used to be really good friends. o_O Ty is short for Tyler, which literally is his name :P
