Wow, is Flora Sky a great hack to play. I am playing at (mostly) regular speed, yet have 5 badges already. FYI, this hack has several Gen IV and V Pokemon inserted into the 386 Pokedex.

As a reminder, I am playing in the Pirate Golden Age, with a Pirate Allegiance, allowing me to replace Ghost with Ice.

Update #1 on Flora Sky.

Starter: Turtwig (This hack uses Sinnoh starters)

• I don't really feel like detailing the journey I've been on, so I will just put highlights to give the screens some context.
• Picked Turtwig as my starter, named him Trinidad (i.e. lawless pirate haven).
• Beat May, got the Pokedex, then caught Macaw the Starly on an early route.
• The first gym is in Puel City, and the leader is Martin, using Fighting Pokemon. Macaw was able to solo him with Wing Attack.
• Then I defeated Sky, another rival-type trainer.
• Arrived in Platepics City, and soon afterwards, Macaw and Trinidad evolved into Staravia and Grotle!
• Got a the Mach Bike, which I used to unlock the gym there, and defeated Caitlin, a Normal-type gym leader.
• After some more events, I caught Bonney the Scraggyin Mt. Fiery, and after training her up, defeated May again.
• Continued on and reached the Turzuro City, which has a Safari Zone, and that's where I caught Galley the Eevee.
• Galley will be my ship in this run (as a Vaporeon), so will be the only one who will learn Surf.
• Defeated the Turzuro gym leader, who was Wattson from the original Hoenn games, and got the Dynamo Badge.
• Hitched a ride to Searound City, and after a bit of training, I challenged the fourth gym, who had Pryce from Johto.
• Bonney was good here with Low Kick against Pryce's Ice Pokemon, and I defeated him without much trouble.
• Moving on, I dispatched Team Magma, which is when Trinidad evolved into Torterra!
• Continued to the next city, where I defeated Sky once more.
• Team Aqua started making trouble too, and while I was dealing with them, Macaw evolved into Staraptor!
• Eventually battled Team Magma's Maxie and defeated him easily with Trinidad's Earthquake.
• Arrived in Malias City, where I received the Surf HM, then nabbed a Water Stone to evolve Galley into Vaporeon!
• Took on the gym, which uses Steel Pokemon, and Leader Leira put up a good fight with her Scizor with Swords Dance.
• I am now saved in Malias City, and my next move is to Surf to Shoal Cave for my next team member.

• New move Close Combat, is Fighting-type, 120 power, 100 acc, and deals 1/3 recoil damage instead of stat drops.
• New move Iceberg, is Ice-type, with 70 power, 90 acc, and a 30% freeze chance.
• HM01 is now Air Cutter, replacing Cut, and has the same function as Cut outside battle.
• Strength now has a 30% chance to lower the target's Speed.
• Surf now has a 15% chance to make the target flinch.

Okay, first update :-)

*Obtained Marshmallow the Froakie (who I won't be using)
*Caught Red Robin the Fletchling (who I was planning on using, but changed my mind)
*Arrived at Santalune City
*Defeated Viola and obtained our first gym badge!
*Arrived at Lumiose City and obtained Dark Dragon the Charmander (who I will be replacing Red Robin with)

I know I didn't get much done, but Animal Crossing is extremely addicting :-P I'll hopefully get more done in the next few hours :-)

My team is nearly done. First gym leader went down to Pidgey that evolved into Pidgeot right after that, Bulbasaur followed pretty fast aswell. Second gym leader went down to Nidoqueen.

The difference between non-era types and banned types is that you are allowed to use dual types that share an era type and a non-era type whereas using a dual type that shares typing between an era type and a banned type is not allowed.

Progress update for Jurassic Jam on LeafGreen:

Battled Rockets at the Game Corner. Giovanni knocked out two of my pokemon before I beat him. Went to Erika's gym, where BELLAHBUZZ solo'ed, even though TYRANT really wanted to. I want BELLAHBUZZ to be pretty strong when I get to Sabrina's gym. I got the Tea from the old lady and made a return trip to Lavender Town. I cleared the tower of both spiritual maladies and bullies, after which Mr. Fuji gave me the Poke Flute.

Next it was time to train. I battled through Cycling Road and the Silence Bridge area.

In Fuchsia City, I got HM03 Surf and the Warden's dentures in the Safari Zone. Returned the dentures to their proper home and got HM04 Strength. BELLAHBUZZ and STUNNER did most of the work at Koga's Poison-type gym, TYRANT stepped in too, at the end.

Team Rocket was in my way when I went to challenge Sabrina in Saffron City. So I thumped them all and sent them packing. The rival battle was easy, although I had a tough time with Giovanni's Kangaskhan again.
