I'll be using the original legendaries form gen I... Since Magmar is not available in FR, I'll hack him into the starters. I'll have to wait on Jynx till I get a Poliwhirl, then trade for it in Cerulean, assuming in-game trades are allowed? Excited to do this challenge, looks fun.

So, let's skip the useless intro and start with the truck. First, I roamed around the truck, then went outside to my new home. Mom welcomed me, then I set my clock. After all that, I went downstairs to see my dad on TV, unfortunately I missed it. Then I went to my neighbor's house to introduce myself to Prof. Birch's daughter. Then, I went North, only to find Professor Birch getting chased by a Zigzagoon. I saw his bag, then picked Treecko, of course. I battled the weak Zigzagoon, and I won. Eventually, he gave me the Treecko. My next mission was to see May, but before that, I trained my Treecko to Level 7, and then toured myself across Oldale Town.

I was ready to battle May, she was pretty strong, to be honest. Anyway, I headed back to the lab to obtain a Pokédex, apparently he gave May one as well. Then I healed my Pokémon at the Pokémon Center. I went to the route west of Oldale Town, and there were many trainers to battle. That route made my Treecko grow to level 10. So, I arrived in Petalburg City. I healed, then talked to this profile collecting guy.
"I AM AN ABSENT TREECKO"
Apparently, I couldn't find mind. Or I was blind.
I went to the gym, helped Wally the Hacker who caught a Ralts then dashed away. Met Scott, then started to hunt for a Marill. I found one, but it was hard to catch. But I caught it after three to four throws. I healed my Pokémon, bought more Pokéballs, trained Marill to level 7, and I'll end this update here I guess.

While there is nothing wrong with this, I want to do things differently. I've been looking for Hard Hacks of games, specifically Yellow, Crystal, Emerald. I.e. The same generation enhanced remakes.

Since the only one I may have any chance of finding is Emerald, I am gonna do challenges and I love the idea for yours.

About the team, once I catch the Pokemon am I stuck with them forever? I.e. My starter, then I catch a Pidgey then a Weedle. Would I be stuck with these? Or can I catch more to replace them? Ignoring the 3 HM Slaves of course.

Do you not understand the challenge.... You choose three pokemon to catch, then you start the game, you choose a starter, then you catch your team whenever and wherever you like without hacking.

-Got chucked in he back of a truck
-Left the truck, talked to some people and found Birch
-Saved him from a terrifying Zigzagoon and earned myself a Mudkip
-Named the Mudkip Swampster
-Beat May
-Put on some shoes that came with instructions
-Left Littleroot and caught a Ralts named Psych on route 102
-Progressed to Petalburg
-Met Wally, he copied my style with a Ralts that came a level higher than mine (Rage>:|)
-Got to Petalburg woods and caught a Shroomish named Shroompow
-Noticed how amazingly uncreative all the names are
-Arrived in Rustboro city
-Beat the pants of Roxanne. Also don't know how to get my screen shots on here.

To make the Elite Four even harder, I've turned my Charizard into an HM slave. My dragonair is at level 40 now thanks to grinding. I reached Victory Road and then flew back to Viridian city. I want all three of my pokemon to be at least around 50-65 before I go into the Elite Four.

Also considered making dragonair evolve, I love her design, but dragonite's movepool is really sweet.

Pokémon Emerald - Triple Threat Challenge
UPDATE # 2 - Team Aqua and Nosepass
Entered Petalburg Woods
Battled a trainer, won.
Battled a Wurmple. He was pretty easy, but left my Marill poisoned. Now, I'm walking to the center with the speed button, as running would make it worse. I exited from the woods. I checked Marill, with four hit points left. I checked my bag, no antidotes. After a while, I checked it again, I realized I had a Pecha Berry. I fed him one and used my two Oran Berries on a Marill.
I went back to the woods. Then I saw a Shroomish guy, sooner, he was being attacked by a Team Aqua grunt, who wanted those papers. I battled, and defeated the grunt, and Marill grew to level 9. I defeated another trainer, who left Marill with no useful moves, since Tackle was almost running out of PP, and left my Treecko with 1 HP.

I went out of the forest, went to the flower shop, got a Wailmer pail, and trying to avoid trainer battles. I only battled one Rich Kid, his Zigzagoon was pretty weak, and the twins who were weak as well. One of those trainers (forgot) made my Marill level 10. Finally, I arrived in Rustboro City. I healed my Pokémon, got Cut, taught it to Treecko. Now I'm ready to face the gym, I beat those gym trainers for some EXP, and walked to the gym leader.

Pwned May.

Caught Wingull and named it Wingin' it

Beat all trainers on routes to Petalburgh

Helped Wally catch Ralts.

Met Scott.

Went to Petalburgh woods and caught Shroomish and named it Fighter

Fighter demolished the Team Aqua Grunt

Fighter destroyed all Pokemon up to Roxannes gym.

Wingin it Destroyed the trainers and Fighter destroyed the Leader.

Caught a Nincada on the next route.

Used Nincada and Fighter killed all the trainers.

Wingin' it pwned the Team aqua grunt.

Demolished May again.

Beat Brawly with Wingin' it and Nincada.

Found Steven and pwned the Aqua grunts in the Museum.

Saw Scott a second time

Barely Beat May and Nincada Evolved :D

Boxed Ninjask but kept Shedinja

Beat Wattson after a laughingly easy battle vs Wally.

Saw Scott a third time.

Went to Fallabor and saved the Guy from Team Magma

While Training Wingin it evolved into Pelliper and Fighter evolved into Breloom

Went to the volcano and pwned Team Magma.

Beat Flannery easily.

Met May again and she gave me the Go-Goggles.

Went to Petalburgh though the Rusturf Tunnel

Beat Norman with Fighter.

Got Surf from Wally's dad.

Went to Mauville again and crossed the short river and saw Steven.

Made it to the Weather Institute and Destroyed everyone there.

Left and beat May earning Fly.

Found Steven for the Silph Scope.

Beat Winona.

Went to Mt. Pyre and beat Team aqua earning me the Magma emblem.

Beat May for the final time and saved.

Team Aqua Sadly stole the sub.

Went to Aqua's Base and destroyed them.

Went to Mosdeep Gym and barely beat Tate and Liza..

Helped Steven in Space Center

Found Team Aqua but they still awoke Kyogre.

Went to Sootopolis and steven brought me to the Cave of Origin.

Went to Sky Pillar and awoke Rayquaza

Flew back to Sootopolis and watched Raquaza calm Groudon and Kyogre.

Talked to Maxie and Archie.

Beat Juan and aquired Waterfall beforehand I think...

Went to Victory Road.

Beat Wally barely.

Beat all the Trainers there and went to Pokemon League.

Lost terribly.

Trained for about an hour and challenged them again this time winning.

Became League Champion.

Woke up in my house and went downstairs and saw dad.

Aquired S.S ticket.

Went to Meteor Falls and Challenged Steven.

I lost...

Trained until My Pokes were high leveled and fought Steven again barely winning.

Team:

Moves: Shadow ball, Secret Power, Dig, Scratch.

Breloom: Lvl 82
Moves: Sky Uppercut, Dynamicpunch, Mach Punch, Return.

This challenge sounds like a lot of fun! Quick question though, can I use a Hack ROM such as Blaze Black or do I have to do one of the true games?
 
So I picked up Emerald recently and figured I'd actually try and complete a challenge on it... I do plod a bit, so bear with me. ^^;

I did start up already, so. Update the First.

I talked to everyone in Littleroot because I'm like that, grabbed the Potion from my PC, then went to rescue Birch. Chose Torchic, named him Alex. Started wandering up toward Oldale and getting Alex some experience, got another free potion from the Mart person. Left off with Alex at level 8.
