Normal Monotype: Kanto: Update #5

After Erika, I proceeded into the Rocket hideout under the Game Corner
Defeated Giovanni and got the Silph Scope
Went back to Lavender Town and into the Pokemon Tower
Defeated Blue and made my way to the top of the Tower, "rescuing" Mr. Fuji
Woke up a Snorlax, caught it, and added it to my team
Went to Fuschia City, and into the Safari Zone
Had quite a bit of fun here, catching pretty much everything (including a Tauros, Kangaskahn, and Chansey)
Added Tauros to my team
Trained Tauros and Snorlax a bit and challenged Koga

His Pokemon were pretty easy, the Venonats were defeated with Tauros' Strength, although the Venomoth managed to take out Tauros. Fearow then Drill Pecked Venomoth to oblivion

After Sabrina, I immediately flew to Pallet Town and surfed south to Cinnabar
Got lost in the Pokemon Mansion, but made my way out
Went through the Cinnabar Gym and challenged Blaine

The battle was easy enough, until Arcanine
Arcanine kept Fire Blasting my Pokemon, knocking each one out in 1 hit, except Snorlax
I took advantage of Snorlax's high HP and defeated Arcanine with Earthquake

I beat it with Fearow, and he sends out Nidoqueen
Nidoqueen uses...Thunder? What? Fearow is KO'd
I use Tauros as a sacrifice to revive Wigglytuff
Wigglytuff Bubblebeams everything else to death

Defeated Blue outside Viridian City with ease
Made my way to Victory Roade
Got through Victory Road pretty fast
Grinded the Elite Four a few times until I felt capable enough to try for a real run

Lorelei was pretty easy with Clefable
Thunderbolted all her Water types and Fire Blasted Jynx

Bruno was the easiest
Snorlax Surfed the Onixes and Fearow Drill Pecked the Fighting Types

Agatha was pretty easy, too. Snorlax used Earthquake to take down everything, except Golbat
Golbat was defeated with a few Surfs

Lance was pretty difficult, and I honestly though I would be defeated here
Gyarados was easy with Thunderbolt
Aerodactyl was taken out with 2 Surfs
The Dragonairs caused a bit of damage, taking out Snorlax and Tauros
Wigglytuff Ice Beamed them and they fainted
Dragonite Hyper Beamed Wigglytuff and Clefable, leaving me with only Fearow
Fearow got lucky and CH'd Dragonite with Drill Peck twice in a row, knocking it out

Blue was easy, as he had been before
I got a chance to revive all my Pokemon before, so he only took out Tauros this time

Hooray, I'm the new Champion and what not. Great.

Normal Monotype: Johto: Update #1

Started in Johto with a Totodile
Blazed through to Mr. Pokemon's house and back to New Bark Town, defeating Silver on the way
Caught a Hoothoot on Route 29, named it Arrow
Went to Bell Tower in Violet City and defeated all the Sages with Arrow
After Bell Tower, I challenged Falkner's Gym

Falkner wasn't hard at all. All I did was spam Tackle and that did the trick.

Update #1: NEVER MAKE ME GO INTO MT. MOON AGAIN!!!

What happened:

I started with naming myself Jacob, AS USUAL, and rival Gary, AS USUAL, blah blah blah, with all that. I chose Squirtle, so I could have a Grass-type rival, and as you know, Electric is not very effective against Grass, so long story short, I wanted a challenge. I did the normal stuff, blah blah blah, until I got to Viridian Forest. I looked around for a Pikachu, which was actually really fast compared to all the other times I've tried for a Pikachu. I called him Pika (SO original), and moved on. I had a tough time beating Brock, until I evilly hacked in stumbled upon a Chinchou. I captured him, and called him Glofish because I kinda have one and it rang a bell. I DESTROYED Brock with Glofish. I moved on, and was very annoyed by all the wild Pokemon in the place and I am never going in that place again I will eventually have to go there again for all my future challenges (There's always Repels!!!!! :D). At the moment I sit in Cerulean City, waiting to challenge the Gym.

*-Ignore the master ball setting on Pikachu. My save file got corrupted and I didn't want to start from the very beginning, so I did all the necessary stuff, then used a walk through walls code to get to Pewter City, then I hacked in a master ball, and made it to where all I saw in the wild was Lv. 14 Pikachus. Please let me know if this is cheating, even though my save file got corrupted.

Alright, that's all for now. I have noticed that I am updating less than usual, like it matters. I'm still doing the challenge, so I guess it doesn't matter when or how often I update. Bye!

Defeated Silver, returned the Farfetch'd, and made my way through Ilex Forest
Caught a male Jigglypuff, named it Charm
Evolved Arrow into a Noctowl
Caught a female Snubbull, named it Rose
Went all the way back to Cherrygrove City and caught a female Spearow, named it Spirit
Trained Spirit until she evolved into Fearow
Made my way through the National Park, defeated all possible trainers until this point
Went back to Goldenrod and challenged the Gym

Whitney's Clefairy was easy, Rose used Tackle 4 times and it fainted
Miltank's Rollout managed to defeat my Snubbull, Noctowl, and Fearow
Jigglypuff used Sing, which gave Togepi a chance to defeat Miltank

After Whitney, I got rid of Noctowl and proceeded straight to Ecruteak City
After defeating all the Kimono Girls in Ecruteak, I challenged the Gym

Pretty easy Gym, with Morty's Haunters helping to defeat themselves with Curse
Snubbull would use Bite, bringing the Haunter to half of its health, then the Haunter would use Curse, knocking it out
Gengar missed all its Hypnosis attacks, which gave me a good chance to bring it down
Snubbull evolved after the battle

Another Bug update.

After beating Winona I went down to Lilycove and beat May.
Then I went over to Mt. Pyre to beat Team Aqua, got TM 30 Shadow Ball here and taught it to Lights.
Then I went to Team Magma's hideout and beat Maxie, his Camerupt almost destroyed me, I had to spam items till he ran out of Rock Slides. :/
Then I went to Team Aqua's hideout only to have Archie escape...
FINALLY I can go to Mossdeep, I'm tired of chasing after evil teams...
So I get to Mossdeep and decide that now is a good time to grind up Ninja.
So thats what I did, I got Ninja up to level 38 so he could learn Metal Claw and finally let him evolve.
Now I got the two final members of my team,

and

I also went to Fallabor and used the Move Relearner to teach Shedinja Shadow Ball and Confuse Ray.
Now for the gym, got utterly DESTROYED!!! I hate Claydols now....
Grinded a little bit more and tried again. This time things went my way :)

First off, I renamed Rose to Violet
Then I caught a Miltank and Tauros, but decided on using only Miltank on my team
After Morty, I went to Olivine, and surfed to Cianwood City
I evolved Togepi and Jigglypuff
I lost to Eusine here and got the SecretPotion thing for Amphy
I returned to the Lighthouse, saved Amphy, and lost my first challenge against Jasmine
I gave up and went to the Lake of Rage, defeating the Red Gyarados
I went to Mahogany Town and did the Team Rocket events here
Then I challenged the Mahogany Town Gym

I'm surprised it was this easy. All of Pryce's Pokemon were defeated with Charm's Rollout

I hate Kingdras! Juan's Kingdra is the biggest troll ever to exist in all of pokemon!!! I swept through his whole team no problem, except that damn Kingdra! Took me 20 minutes to finish that thing, 20 MINUTES!! Thats like 200 turns!!!

Well anyway I'm back after beating Juan and getting my 8th badge, now off to the Elite Four!! I hope Wallace doesn't troll me as much as Juan did...

Update on Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Poison).

Update #3 on Black 2.​

• Went to Reversal Mountain grass, where I caught my final team member, Draken the Skorupi.
• Explored the Strange House and traveled through Reversal Mountain with Bianca, training Draken up along the way.
• Eventually, he evolved into Drapion!
• Arrived in Undella Town and defeated Gorman there.
• Explored the Bay and Route 14, and trained Portobello up to L50 as a Foongus to learn Spore, then he evolved into Amoongus!
• Boxed Portobello for my Surf slave Psyduck, then took Route 13 to Lacunosa Town, where I beat Zinzolin and his Grunt partner.
• Got the Fire Blast TM for Deadhead, then continued on through Route 12, the Village Bridge, and Route 11 to reach Opelucid City.
• Did a little shopping and training at Shopping Mall Nine, then took on the Opelucid Gym.
• Drayden wasn't too difficult although Haxorus was tough as usual.
• Team Plasma tried to send Unova back to the Ice Age, and the DNA Splicers got stolen after I beat Zinzolin again.
• Went after the Shadow Triad back to Undella Town, took the Marine Tunnel to Humilau City.
• Trained a bit on Route 22, then took on the gym.
• Marlon was easy as usual with Draken's Hone Claws+Thunder Fang combo.
• Got the Colress Machine from Colress back on Route 22, then went through the Seaside Cave to the Plasma Frigate.
• Got through the gates and defeated Zinzolin with Gorman's help, but they got away again.
• Withdrew Portobello from the PC, chased Team Plasma to the Giant Chasm, then saved once I got back on the ship.

I made a little progress, after catching Horsea, I played Voltorb Flip(I think it's too easy) for another Ice Beam, and I saved right after beating Petrel in the Radio Tower, tomorrow I'm going to keep playing the lottery thing until I get Flash Cannon for Horsea(since it's Tuesdays lottery TM).

Hey Necrum I have a question. Will you allow Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness to be the 3rd gen game of my ultimate challenge. Although they are Spin Off games, I have the access to build a full team and not have one pokemon always with me(unlike some others like Eevee in Conquest).

That game takes place in a region other than Hoenn, and the idea is to play through all the main regions. So no, it doesn't count as 3rd gen. The list of games you can use for each region are listed in the Ultimate section of the first post.

You can do xd any time, it just will be a single challenge, not count as part of ultimate. You don't have to wait if you don't want to.
