The Ultimate Monotype Challenge

Status
Not open for further replies.
Aaaaand the water monotype again.
- Azurill evolved into Azumarill (it evolves so soon!)
- Burgh kept wiping the floor with me thanks to his Leavanny so of course, I had to go grind. Defeated him after I got a lucky critical hit and OHKO'd it.
- Defeated all the trainers I could reach before defeating Elesa
- Defeated Elesa with just Azumarill (that's what happens when you keep using Volt Switch, hah)

Current team:
Azumarill Lv. 37
BubbleBeam|Strength|Aqua Tail|Water Sport

Samurott Lv. 36
Razor Shell|Return|Aqua Jet|Revenge

Ultimate Fighting Monotype Challenge HeartGold Update #3

-Clair turned out to be not that bad. Ringo probably was the MVP of the fight, swaggering at least a few of her mons to death
-Now that we could use Waterfall, we immediately headed to Mt. Mortar to grab Eddard the Tyrogue from That Dude. Stuffed his face with Irons and slapped the Exp Share on him.
-He evolved into a Hitmonchan on the way to Victory Road
-Got through Victory Road with no issue. Taught Eddard Earthquake.
-Whilst training for the E4, the miraculous man otherwise known as Fisherman Tully gave me a call. I went and got a Water Stone from him and finally got to evolve Asha into a Poliwrath. Taught her Focus Blast.
-Then to the Elite Four!

-After a few failed attempts at Will, I realized I could teach Ringo Shadow Claw, which made things go quite a bit smoother. Ringo and Eddard were the MVPs
-Koga was nothing too difficult, Ringo came quite in handy with Aerial Ace
-Bruno was simple, everyone got to see some action
-Karen was predictably easy, no one even died
-Lance was nothing special, even though the main strategy ended up being "everyone else is a life support system for Eddard"
-Eddard was definitely the saving grace of the whole ordeal, with Ringo coming in particular usefulness as well

Final FR Omega update, and kind of a final update for Expert Emerald.
I didn't take any pics of Expert Emerald, but I will take pics of my team and show them on my next update.

Here are some FR Omega pics. Fearow was my HM Slave for Fly, I caught him fairly late in the game.

We grinded more for post game stuff, only to find that Blitzen wasn't really up to par anymore. Once we snagged Ursaring, we purified him and replaced Blitzen. He was named GrandePapi and it didn't take too long for him to catch up to the rest of the team. Deep Colosseum took a while, but we got through it a lot easier than I remembered it being. After that, we got LOTS of emails about an impostor dressed as our hero and attacking people with a Shadow Togetic. We had a final showdown with Shady Guy Seth (or Feign really) at the place our journey started, the Outskirt Stand. And with the last Snag Ball thrown and successful, it's time to retire our gear. We saved the Pokemon, and did it with Normal types. Challenge complete!

Erm, hello.

Username: Shiny Electivire
Type: Poison
Challenge: Single
Game(s): FireRed

I plan on this team:
Venusaur
Weezing
Muk
Raticate

Not a six Poke team, may throw in a few more as I play. I'll start this weekend.

I'm just curious, but why is a Raticate on your team? It isn't a Poison type so I was just wondering if it was a planned HM Slave or something, none of my business though.

Username: Buggles
Type: Bug
Challenge: Ultimate
Game(s): FR, HG, S, Pearl, B2

I'm new to the site, and I don't really know how to do any fun icons, but I will update as often as possible :P

It is my business though. Why is there a Raticate listed on your team? That's not a Pokemon of your type. And if it were an HM slave I would expect Rattata, not Raticate.

By the way, would I be allowed to hack in a Water Stone for Poliwhirl at some point?
No. There are ways to get a Water Stone in game. It's not as easy as R/B/Y, but it's doable.

I have not updated in a while due to the reason that I went to play fast and completed both the Hoenn and Sinnoh leg of my flying challenge.

Here are the HOF pics for both the games:

Derp, neither of them are poison type. Yeah, I'll just use a rattata as an HM slave XD

First post updated through post 1314. I also added a reference of first available Pokemon for each type in every game, so there should be no confusion about what games you can and can't hack/trade Pokemon into.

I haven't updated in a while, but I am still grinding so my Electric Monotype team can beat Clay.

Team so far:
Ampharos, Lv 30
Jolteon, Lv 32
Magnemite, Lv 28
Tynamo, Lv 36
Joltik, Lv 34

HM Slave:
Tranquill

EDIT: Real update, finally beat Clay!

Team:
Galvantula, Lv 36
Ampharos, Lv 33
Magnemite, Lv 28
Tynamo, Lv 36
Jolteon, Lv 32

HM Slave:
Tranquill

That was so difficult omg. I had his Excadrill down in the red then he used his hyper potion. I had to spam flash with Jolteon (and keep reviving him) to get him to -6 accuracy for the misses to start coming in.

Ultimate Steel Monotype: White 2

I have vanquished Burgh and his nasty Leavanny! I also added one more member to my team, a female Drilbur that I have named Yoko, after the Gurren Lagann character. Burgh wasn't too difficult, just a little annoying. Oh, Roland evolved into a Lucario and Steven evolved into a Metang. I put Leftovers on Steven, which is pretty evil...

Spoiler:

Username: Leonknight
Type: Bug

Game(s): Emerald

this is gonna be fun =D

Question will Anorith/Armaldo be counted as a bug type seeing as it is their secondary typing?

Finished the Johto leg of my journey, time for a quick update:

Ultimate Flying-Mono Challenge: Heart Gold

- Went to Ecruteak and beat the Kimono Girls, then went to Bell Tower and beat Ho-Oh

- Made the long trek to the Indigo Plateau and beat Falcone in Victory Road

- Level grinded for a bit then challenged the Elite Four

- Destroyed Will with Scyther

- Beat Koga with little effort

- Wiped the floor with Bruno thanks, once again, to Scyther

- Beat Karen with, you guessed it, Scyther

- Had a close fight with Lance but managed to pull through thanks to my Garydos and his Ice Fang

- Entered into the Hall of Fame

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, I knew Scyther was good, but holy crap is he ever awesome! I don't think I'll ever use a Scizor again!
