Why do yout think there is a rivalry betweeen cats and dogs?

(Lol Cat's Cradle has the same topic right now)
Anyways, I believe its there natural instincts. Although some cats and dogs DO get along. Or maybe its related to their ancestors thousands of years ago.

Why do yout think there is a rivalry betweeen cats and dogs?
All I can think of is because of that Egyptian story where the dogs saved the egyptians from the cats.... But that's just a mythology, so other than that, I think it's just their nature and instinct. And it also depends on how they're raised, since my dog and 2 cats can get along very well.
 
For the topic, once again, I have NO idea! Its kinda.....weird.

There is a rivalry? I never knew there was a real rivalry in the wild, only in cartoons, stories, and legends.

I've seen alot. Mai fave has gotta be...The Eight Below...though it was slightly tragic, one of the eight died. T^T
Ooh, I remember seeing White Fang, the movie, I read the book before it, and wanted to see what it was like movie version. xD
I'm an emotional person, I cried alot during these movies/books. >.>
They always die...T^T

oh sorry people ive been away for a Week! thats because the owner of the Computer Punished me for using Shoddy in the Computer. ( welll i sneaked to use the Computer XD )
