Wow, check out all the haters.
Read closely, you unwashed masses. Not all rap and hip-hop glorifies violence, promiscuity, and crime. It does take a certain amount of skill with the English language just to write out decent rhymes, and it takes even greater skill to improvise a song right on the spot (freestyling). If the lyrical content is narcissistic, then that's the problem of the rapper and/or the songwriter working for him, not the genre as a whole.
In my opinion? Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Faber Drive, and Cute is What We Aim For. >:
To be honest, Cobra Starship is no better than any of those bands, but that's just me. Hell, Cobra Starship shares the same record label with Panic at the Disco and Cute Is What We Aim For. Birds of the same feather flock together, after all.
I oppose no genre at all; but I'll vote rap/hip-hop because almost every song from that genre is about "*****z in da hood"... lol. How unoriginal.
Again, not all rap and hip-hop glorify the thug life. That's perhaps the greatest misconception to befall the genre. Narcissistic, oversexed recidivists ruining it for all the perfectly legitimate MCs...
Well I hate every form of Rap ever... it just makes me want to hurt whoever came up with it... PURE RUBBISH!
You'd have to completely annihilate a good portion of New York City and Los Angeles to do so. Would you like to commit mass murder just because you disapprove of a certain type of music?
Rap and country are not music. They're simply noise. Grating, aggravating, excruciating noise.
I listen to electronic and dance music mostly, along with some classical and rock. My favorite artists at the moment are Daft Punk, Ratatat, Tiesto, Justice, and Nobuo Uematsu.
Rap is noise, while electronic isn't? That's quite the double standard you have there.
I will leave Rap out of this conversation as I HATE RAP...CANNOT STAND IT AT ALL.
A guys rants about how sexy he is to a drum beat...no melody whatsoever...I get the same thing through stand up comedy only with no drum beat lol
How many times must I have to repeat this? Not all rap and hip-hop glorify promiscuity, and not all rappers are self-absorbed pricks.
