The Young Jedi Knights RP: Jedi Academy

OOC: Mew13, the use of "shy boy" is inappropriate since my charater is 25 years old. But since he seems alittle misplaced because everyone else is still in their teens I guess I'll edit my characters age to 16. *edits post* there all done, now JB is 16 years old.

IC: I gathered up my notes and my different history books and walked out with Nat. "I'm not sure let me check." I said regaining my confidence. I got out my schedule and ran my finger down the datapads screen. "...um...ah..." i said looking at my schedule trying to figure out what I had next. "Yes I do have Fitness, then meditation." I said putting my datapad away. "Yay...fitness." I said sarcastically. "Actually I like running, but I just don't like the weight part." I explained as we walked down the hall to the Fitness center.
 
The teachers told the students to do all sorts of weird stretches. Shinin wasn't that flexible and it was slightly difficult for him to do them perfectly.
 
Once we got to the room, the teacher there had us begin to stretch at once. Because I was skinny and lanky I had no problem doing them. I had always been flexable and good runner, I just didn't like the weights, they often intimidated me.

"Alright now everyone get a partner." The teacher said.

I sat in the back in a corner, again. I just watched everyone partner up. No one really wants to partner up with me, and if I partner up with someone, they probably won't like it, because they have to be partnered with me. I thought to myself as I watched everyone, forgetting the whole fact that no one really knew me or my name. I just sat there watching everyone as I sat in a corner.
 
OOC: Oops! Sorry Raichu_Master! I guess I didn't read your bio very well!

IC: The stretching was easy for Nat. She had always been flexible, being a wonderful dancer. She wasn't very competitive, so she never enjoyed sports other than dance.

Once the teacher said to pair up, Nat looked around. Her shyness had once again taken over. She looked around as her peers paired up confidently. She hoped someone.... anyone would come and pair up with her. She saw JB in the corner and wondered if she had to pair with another girl.
 
"I have to pair up?" I thought to myself worriedly. "How am I going to pair up with someone, I'm not a human!" I looked around the class for someone, anyone to pair up with. A small lanky boy was at the back of the room with no one.

"Hi." I said nervously although he wouldn't know it, RU12's voice was still monotone. "I think that we are the only two left so I guess I'm your partner." I was starting to scratch the back of my head thinking this wasn't the best idea, the human boy was looking very scared. "My name is Yon and my translator is RU12. I made him myself." I checked once more to see if anyone else was left to pair with. There wasn't.

I waited next to the small human, waiting to see if he would respond to me.
 
I looked at him thoughtfully. A part of me wanted to cowar, but another part, a stronger part, wanted to challenge him, wanted to show him I wasn't as wimpy as I looked. I got to my feet and forced a smile, "My name's John Brass, but please I prefer to be called JB." I said extending a hand for him to shake. I could fell confidence overwhelm me, for the first time I was over-confident about myself, I was sure I could do better than anyone in this class, once I took a good look around. I harnessed that confidence and straightened my back and broaden my shoulders.
 
Nat saw JB had gotten a partner and saw him almost swell with confidence. She smiled to herself and then realized she still had no partner. She walked over to a likely group of girls.

"Hi!" she said, sounding more confident than she felt. "My name's Nat. Anyone here still need a partner?" She looked around hopefully. This was hard. Harder than she could have imagined. Why did she have to be so shy?
 
Yukiko reached the outside grounds a little late, and recieved a stern look from Tenel Ka. She quickly rushed onto the scene, where students were busy pairing up. The lanky, shy boy she had noticed from history was paired up with a Wookie. She smiled kindly at them from beneath her hood, knowing full well that they probably could not see her face, but hoped they could feel her kindness through the Force.

"Nat!" she called to her from across the grounds. "Do you have a partner?"

Tenel Ka had already begun to instruct some student pairs on what their lesson was for today. They all sat before her, cross legged, or sitting on their legs. Yukiko quickly sat on the ground, tucking her legs under her. She looked down at her bare feet, smiling slightly. She had never imagined she would be outside in bare feet, having come from a planet made of ice and snow.

"Your task today is to venture out into the jungle, running. Whatever you encounter, you will conquer together. Work as a team to accomplish your goals. Complete this route-" she showed them a map on her data pad of the route they were to take. It circled the Temple once, curved into the forest for a few kilometers, and circled the lake once. The diagram showed them going THROUGH the lake after that, circling around the Temple once more, and finally, ending right back where they started. "-together as quickly as you can. As you can see, this is more than just a fitness exercise..."

She relinquished the data pad, and Lowbacca growled something, his voice rising and falling in sharp, harsh tones. Wookie speech had always fascinated Yukiko. It was so musical to her...

"Master Lowbacca will be in the jungle, around the grounds, etc, to keep an eye on things, as a lot of you are beginners," Em Teedee piped up from the clip on Lowbacca's belt.

Yukiko turned to Nat excitedly, squinting against the bright light.

"Would you like to be my partner?" she asked once more.

OOC: Shinin, and Shineyelectrode....your last posts were very short. Please be more careful about this, and take it seriously. I really don't want to have to give warnings much less kick anyone out...and I mean that sincerely. I don't want to be a jerk.
 
OOC: Where are we? I lost track...
 
OOC: Second class how now begun. Most of us are in fitness I think, but feel free to have a different schedule. Might be more interesting that way...the last couple of posts should catch you up should you decide to put your characters in fitness.
 
OOC: Have we got practice sabers?
 
OOC: No we use sabers in weapons training, not fitness.

IC: "Did you get the course RU12?" I asked my mechanical friend.

"Yes. I will comunicate to you and Master Brass where you will need to go in order to complete the lesson." I was really going to change that voice soon.

I started the course, my long legs soon having me out in front of JB. I slowed down a bit so he could keep up with me. It wasn't long before we had circled the Temple, even though it was massive. We ventured into the jungle, A place I felt half at home. On my home planet the trees were much taller but these were not tiny either. It was making me homesick. There was movement everywhere, alot of it from small furry creatures, fleeing from our feet. Shrieks could be heard from deeper inside the jungle, making even my spine shiver. Luckily, were we not going in that far.

"I believe Master Brass and yourself should start turning left." RU12 piped up, his voice suprisingly not monotone for once.

"Why did you come here to the Academy?" I asked JB, RU12 translating for me as we ducked to miss a low hanging vine.
 
OOC: Ytnim is right. Practice sabers are for weapons training. The blades make contact for blocking and striking purposes, but if a student strikes his or her opponent's body with it, the blade is as harmless as a beam from a flashlight. (Some authors have the blades sting the opponent, but I think that the above is a better idea, myself...)
 
OOC: My brain has been deep-fried, or else I'd make a long, in-depth in character post. But I beleive I explained that with my specific character, getting a specific ammount of volume to each post would be difficult in some cases. But I will try my best to make extended posts, but should that fail, I will always try to have detailed posts at least.
 
OOC: I think that the practice sabers should go through them without cutting them in half and doesn't make any scars, but stings them if that happens so they want to defend more. It wouldn't be like a scorpion sting, just like if you touched a lightbulb.
 
I said laughing, because I was having fun, "Why do you think anyone comes to the jedi academy? Of course, I possess the ability to use the force, and I have come here to further my study of the force and to become a jedi." We then reached a fault, it was big enough we couldn't we could jump over it. "Now what?" I asked out loud looking for a vine to swing on or some type of fallen log, but there was nothing. "Do we start to go back or do we find a way to cross it?" I asked looking at Yon.
 
OOC: The reason I made the sabers like that will be explained in a later post...stay tuned for details!! (I'm waiting for Mew to post....)
 
Jeanne walked in to her class, she was about five minutes late and hoped that she won't get scolded for it. When she reached the grounds, everybody started pairing up. She got paired up with a very shy girl. She smiled at her and secretly hoped that she could lift her partner's spirits up.

She then turned her attention to Tenel Ka who was explainingwhat to do. She grinned as Tenel Ka finished and prepared to run. When she saw her pair had finished preparing, she quickly ran in the forest, looking back once in a while to check if her partner was behind her.
 
Teyra was heading in the forest, with her partner, a girl her aga, called Sonia, much like her in many ways.
For instance, both were equally shy, and nervous about the class, and wondered if they'd survive jumping over logs and tree roots, while on the look out for animals.
Teyra wondered were the rest of her newly met friends were... Probally far a head... "Teyra, um, what do you think your favorite class will be?"
"Meditation." The girl anwsered the other quickly, now looking up at the vast amount of trees.
