The Young Jedi Knights RP: Jedi Academy

"Yeah," she started. JB was very observent. "It wasn't always that way. It used to be beautiful and full of life. There were plants and gardens everywhere. But that was before the war. Since the war started, all the plants have been burned to the ground and our atmosphere has been depleated from the wastes..." she trailed off. It was hard to think about the war and all the horrible things it had done.

"That's why my mom and dad sent me to the Academy. It's like an escape route. Many in my village had died, and my parents didn't want that to happen. So, they sent me here." Tears formed in Nat's eyes and she turned away, seemingly interested in the opposite wall. She didn't want JB to see her cry.

"Ah...I see." I said watching her turn away. "It's alright to cry. No one will think you're weak or helpless. It's alright to cry for those reasons." I said simpathically.

I then turned my attention to the other classmates. "They seem to be very social...I sometimes wish I was that social...but I could never get up and talk to someone I never knew." I said to Nat.

Nat furiously wiped her eyes. She knew she wasn't weak, but she always felt vulnerable when she cried. She turned back to JB, who was now looking at the other kids in the room.

"I know what you mean. I'm not exactly a social butterfly," she said to him. "To tell you the truth, I suprised myself in History when I started talking to you! But I'm glad I did, it's nice to have a friend."

She hoped the teacher would come in soon. She was losing her focused state of mind she had achieved in the run.

"Yeah it was nice meeting you...although I don't know how I had the courage to even open my mouth to say anything." I said shrugging. "I guess I'll start on my meditation now..." I said getting into meditation form and closing my eyes, and trying to clear my mind of all distractions.

"Hey there, CB-14!" Yukiko called from the shadow of her hood. Feeling a little better now that the droid had arrived, she got to her feet, and went to meet him.

Master Skywalker, Jacen, Jaine, Tenel Ka, and Lowbacca soon appeared on the scene. Yukiko sensed a little distress among them, but decided to ignore it for now. Master Skywalker called the group over to him, gesturing for them to sit on the ground.

"Weapons are a very important tool for a Jedi," he told them, "but that it all they are. They are only a tool. The power they wield, and strength to protect those you love, comes from within yourselves. Remember this as you practice. A saber is only an extension of your arm, another part of you. Now please pair off, and we will do some sparring drills."

Yukiko looked over at CB-14 hopefully, and got to her feet. She dusted off her robes, which had aquired a few blades of grass and some moist dirt. Brandishing her saber before her, she flicked the switch on, and stood in a ready stance, waiting for CB-14 and further instructions.

"Practice your basic striking and blocking skills to warm up," Master Skywalker told them. "We'll be around to see how you are doing. Even the most advanced Jedi cannot fight to their full potential without these basic techniques. For those of you who know them well, work them to perfection."

Yukiko looked over at CB-14, feeling a little uneasy about fighting, but since they were only practice sabers, she figured it would be all right.

"Ready?" she asked him, gaining a little bit of confidence.

OOC: Yellow sounds like a good color for the sabers.

Sineyelectrode, do you prefer that I call your droid character "he" or "it?"

OOC: Right now it refers to itself as "it" however, as the force, or "life" within it/him grows, he will begin to think of itself as male, therefore he. So you can go ahead and refer to him as he.

IC: I waited until they were done, then I turned the switch on my trainign saber to "on" and the blade came to live, giving off a smaall aura of yellow light around it. Upon further inspection, I noticed something unusual. Although it was made of light, the blade itself was not transparent.

I looked up at Yukiko and said "Yes, I am ready." And the unknown program, Began feeding me information. Following the guidelines set by it, I bent my knee joints slightly, and had both arms out, one holding the saber at an angle that was almost horazontal, the other, simply ready to keep balance.

OOC: Sounds good, Shineyelectrode. ^^

IC: Yukiko mocked his stance, her muscles tensing with the pressure on her back leg. She had always been good at open hand combat, but since she feared weaponry more than anything, had never really concentrated much on fighting with weapons. She stood her ground, shifting to a back stance, her blade at the ready. Her Force sense tingled as she became very alert, looking with her mind's eye and her actual eyes for any sign of movement from CB-14.

Growing reckless, which she would scold herself for later, she delivered the first blow. Her arm holding the practice saber swooped in a graceful arc, coming down to meet CB-14's saber. The blow hit the saber hard, and she heard the sizzle of the two energy beams colliding. Keeping her eyes on CB-14, she waited for him to make the next move.

As she struck, I braces myself, and after the saber hit, I spun around, taking a step backwards, and swung my blade around, so that it struck hers as she was pulling back from the attack.

Yukiko took the blow from CB-14's blade, but used his momentum against him, and flung his blade downwards with her own. Her eyes never left the droid. She used the Force to sense his movements, to calculate the strength she would need...

As his blade lowered, Yukiko dove inwards towards him with her saber, the blade pointed straight for his middle. Closing her eyes, she felt a sense of panic...she had seen this attack before...elsewhere...

Dropping her saber to the ground, she fell to her knees, unable to go through with the attack, even though she knew it was only a practice saber. The hood shielded her teary eyes from the gaze of onlookers, and she held her head in her hands.

"I'm sorry," she said to CB-14 softly. She did not look at him. "I can't...I can't go through with it..."

Master Skywalker had made his way over to the group after seeing Yukiko fall to the ground. He knelt at her side, his hand on her shoulder, and he asked what was wrong, though Yukiko was sure he must have known.

"I can't attack him. I know it's just a practice saber...but..." she squeaked out. A few tears made their way down her cheeks.

"It's all right," Master Skywalker assured her gently, patting her shoulder reassuringly. "You'll get over your fear of weaponry eventually. You'll be able to use a saber, but I do admire how resistant you are to harming others. It's a very important and rare quality. Hang onto it, but don't be afraid to defend yourself. If CB-14 was an enemy trying to kill you, you would have to fight. You must understand that."

Yukiko nodded, though she did not agree. She regained her feet. Killing was wrong. That was the end of the story for her. She could never take the life of another being. Never. Looking up at CB-14 apologetically, she raised her saber once more, less confident than before, but ready to finish out the class...

"Illogical" I thought. I recorded this data, hoping to unravel the enigma of what had just happened later.

I readied myself into the stance again, and did a simple sideways stroke, only I let my blade go beneath hers, and then change the direction like a cresent, hitting the other side of her blade.

Yukiko had not anticipated his move. She had figured a driod would be easier to predict than a human for instance, but there was something very different about this driod...

She blocked his blow skillfully, and shifted her stance to a front stance, something a lot mroe aggressive. Her robes hung around her, no longer damp, but heavy nonetheless. Her white hood still shadowed her face, though she had to admit she was getting really warm under the midday jungle heat.

Clearing her mind of other thoughts, Yukiko concentrated on the task at hand. If he were an enemy...someone trying to kill her....she shuddered, feeling memories try to take over her mind. Thoughts of another time...thoughts of the betrayal...

Yukiko drew her saber, and took a step back, her stance deep and sturdy, her form at its strongest, despite her petite body. She swung the saber in a high arc once more, hoping to take CB-14 by suprise when the seemingly normal strike would fake at the last minute and become a jab. She threw the energy of her whole body into it, preparing for the final twist to turn it into a straight jab, aiming directly towards CB-14's middle once again.

I swung my saber around in order to block the attack, but there was far more strength than I anticipated, and my saber was knocked from my hand. But before the jab hit, I leapt backward. I knew I wouldn't be fast enough, yeet I did it anyway. Yet somehow, I found myself several feat from where I leapt.
"Illogical!?" I said, I was saying that a lot more latley.

"You okay, CB-14?" Yukiko asked the droid. Somewhere in her mind, she made a mental note to figure out a nickname for him. Switching off her saber, she walked over to the driod, her smile hidden beneath her hood.

Tenel Ka and Master Skywalker called to the students gently, signaling the end of class. Yukiko thanked CB-14 for being her partner, and made her way to her next class: meditation.

Finally, after that class was over, Teyra happilly hurried off to Meditation.
Teyra sighed- this was rather what she had expected. Meet some people, be their friends, then, be ignored- Like when she was at her other class, going over to Yukiko, and when no one had even looked up...
But, not wanting to be angry, she eased her mind once more with relaxing thoughts, such as: Maybe it's temporary... or It's fine, really....
Sighing, the girl hoped that she would do well in Meditation.

Shinin went to Meditation. There were mats on the ground, each a different color. The room was grey and dull. He sat down cross-legged on one of the mats.

OOC: Scarlet and Shinin, are you guys on your third class now?

OOC: Cool! ^^

IC: Yukiko walked into Meditation, and chose a mat next to Teyra. Yukiko had always looked foward to meditation, as it was something she was good at, and something she didn't have to use weapons for. For this class, she pulled back her hood, revealing her pale, ghost-like features. Sitting down with her legs tucked under her and her feet crossed in back, she looked over at Teyra kindly.

"How have your classes been?" she asked softly, her usual smile playing about her lips.

Teyra opened her eyes, a bit suprised at finding some talking to her.
She replied, in a equally soft tone, "Fine, really...", and gave the other young Jedi a weak smile.
The girl straightened her legs as she put them into a cross-legged position, then looked over at Yukiko again.
Perhaps...
Teyra smiled again, wondering what to say next, eager to start a conversation.

Nat meditated quietly to herself, finding it very easy. After the teacher had excused them, she headed to her next class, weapons training. Knowing JB also had this class next, she looked around for him.

After she grabbed a practice saber, she was told to partner up. She once again looked around for JB. She saw him and strode over. "Wanna be partners?" she asked quietly.
