As team names, no, but happy to split the theming amongst the teams as such.

Having a look at name stuff etc atm, one thing was maybe using the Spanish words for the flowers to be on brand, which came out as Damasquinas and Aheli.

Otherwise, saw that Gladiolus actually used to be called a Sword Lily, so could have The Sword Lilies/Relevant Marigold Name Here (could probably tie into something firey because of the colours).

Will spitball more things as I find more stuff.

I'd say no to using sword in the name since it will probably be taken as a SwSh thing and that'll feel kinda weird given the timing and thematics we've got going on.

I love that. Bringing in S&V lore, staying true to the anniversary, and throwing in some spooky entities that judges the participants fate? Perfect.

If y'all don't mind, I'm gonna start just loosely working on these "deified Pokémon" under the whole "day of the dead" umbrella. I'm still thinking we go with ghost/fire/grass type Pokémon, but I'll post a few sketches, get some feedback, and we'll see where it takes us.

Just pinging ya as I noticed you have been somewhat quiet and well, as the one implementing this creatively, should probably make sure whatever we do is actually feasible AND I think a third voice is good regardless at the moment!

You would think I would not be struggling this much to come up with something to go with Marigold or Gladiolus (or their Spanish equivalents). And yet...

Just to port this over from our very helpful Discord conversations (thanks everyone!), I think we've mostly got the mascots/team names sorted.

Mascots being Decidueye/Alolan-Marowak, art below (by the wonderful Jo):

Team names we've gone for Shackled Arqueros and Shadowed Guerreros respectively, tying in the Spanish vibe of ScarVio as well as the Halloween side of things (and also referencing their signature moves!).

Theming we can throw things in that we have mentioned before, but colour-wise (for CSS etc) I think sticking to the Pink/Green Jo has used in the mascots would be good, maybe scarlet and violet too because of the games?
