There is NOWHERE to grind my Electrike.

I don't recall having this problem except for a certain ROM hack. If I did encounter this problem in the main games though, I would just use the switch to a higher-level Pokemon trick.

I'm sure anybody who's done a Nuzlocke in the Johto or Hoenn games (at least RSE, not ORAS because Exp. Share and other mechanics) can relate, because grinding spots in those games are practically non-existant. As Marriland once said, the Johto games are easy until something dies, and then you're forced to train for hours because of the lack of good training spots for a majority of the game.

I've never really had a problem leveling pokemon up. I either head back to an earlier route to take on weaker pokemon. This lets me feel like the pokemon I'm using isn't as weak as it seems and after leveling up a bit I can go back to the route I caught it at and it will be able to take hits and dish out even harder. Or, if I'm too lazy to grind, I move forward and use the first-slot training method. Eventually it works out.

Option three: I keep the same party and wait for something easier to train

One thing to note, let's make sure we keep this discussion about the official games opposed to ROM hacks.

Quick question, due to the nature of the OP's question, doesn't it apply to mainstream Pokemon games, official or ROM hacks, and therefore still within the rules? Sorry for the bother, don't mind me, not looking for trouble here.

Johto games especially, because the wild Pokemon are so weak. Pendra was very spot-on about Nuzlockers in said games who had to train up new team members, because it will be very tedious.
